C. Winston Acree
Private graveside services for C. Winston Acree, 82, will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 1999, at Rose Hill Cemetery with family and close friends. Following will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Ardmore with the Rev. Wade Paschal officiating.
The son of the late Arch and Zella Acree, he was born April 15, 1917, in Grady, Okla., and passed away at his residence June 5, 1999.
He graduated from Ringling High School, then attended Oklahoma State University and the American Institute of Banking. He married Vivian Onetta Ewing on Oct. 25, 1941, in Norman, Okla. At the outbreak of World War II he was employed at First National Bank of Blanchard, Okla. and during the war was an aircraft inspector for the military forces, having received a distinguished service award. In 1945, he purchased a real estate, insurance and finance business in Ardmore which he operated until 1961, and Acree retired as an investment manager and consultant. Business activities included the Oklahoma Independent Oil Producers Association, Southern Oklahoma Landman's Association, past member of National Board of Appraisers and the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Real Estate Board. In 1996 he was honored with the Bishop Milhouse Award for the Outstanding Layman in the United Methodist Church Conference of Oklahoma. In 1998 he received an award in recognition of over 40 years of service as trustee of the Woodworth Estate Funds for the same conference. He was also a recipient of the Salvation Army Distinguished Service Award. Since 1959, he was a Life Director of the Board of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, and received the Keeper of the Flame Award, along with his wife. He was the past president of the Ardmore Lions Club and a member of the board of YMCA, the Ardmore Jaycees, the United Way, and Commissioner of the Arbuckle Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian, of the home; a son, David and wife, Patty, of Norman, Okla.; daughter, Donna Jacobs and her husband, John, granddaughter, Karen, and grandson, Russell, all of Wayne, Pa.; a sister, Mary Henderson of Norman; and a brother, Archie Acree of Universal City, Texas.
Memorials may be made either to the First United Methodist Church in Ardmore or the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
Services are under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.

Charles D. Hunt
Services for Charles David Hunt, infant son of Stacy Hunt, Wilson, are pending from Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home.
The baby was born and died June 7, 1999 in the local hospital.
In addition to his mother, survivors include brothers, Wesley and Jeremy, Wilson; grandparents, Steve and Violet Hunt, also Wilson, and Pat and Tom Whitner, Loco; and great-grandparents, William and Minnie McKenzie, Wilson, and Raymond and Bonnie Hunt, Healdton.

Mattie Teafatiller
MARIETTA -- Services for Mattie Teafatiller, 90, are pending from Kennedy Funeral Home. She died June 7, 1999 in a local health care facility.
Survivors include five sons, Edwin, Marsden, Orvell, Veneta, Ore., Milton, Tishomingo, William, Hurst, Texas, and Robert, Falconhead; three daughters, Geraldine Driskell, Hurst, Texas, Wanda Leslie, Calhoun, Ky., and Betty Robertson, Marietta.

Dovie Gatlin Lee
THACKERVILLE -- Services for Dovie Gatlin Lee, 93, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Reed officiating. Interment will be at New Resthaven Cemetery in Gainesville, Texas.
Mrs. Lee died June 7, 1999 in a Marietta health care facility. She was born July 23, 1905, Thackerville Indian Territory, to Walter and Annie Adair Gatlin.
A resident of Thackerville most of her life, she married James H. "Jim" Lee here in 1933 and was the oldest living member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, May 25, 1986; a daughter, Jean Bourland; a grandson; and great-great-grandson.
Survivors include a brother, Ed "Coot" Foster, Thackerville; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-grandson.
Bearers will be David Dewbre, Damon Frazier, Paul Ellis, Jonny Hickman, Jerimiah Cummins and Gary Reed.

Mary Mack Prince
TATUMS -- Services for Mary Sue Mack-Prince, 55, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Leroy Peters and Frank Lawson officiating. Interment will be at Little Flock Cemetery, Elmore City.
Mrs. Prince died June 3, 1999 in a local health care facility. She was born Oct. 30, 1943, at Okmulgee, to Bowell and Dorothy Salmon Mack.
She graduated from Okmulgee High School and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Elmore City. She married L.G. Prince in 1980 and they made their home in Springer.
She is survived by her husband, Ardmore; and a sister, Helen Stand, Chicago.
Kirk-Dawson-Dillard Funeral Home will direct services.

Linda L. Miller
MADILL -- Services for Linda Lu Miller, 58, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Watts Memorial Chapel with Don Waters and Richard Jones officiating. Interment will be at Woodberry-Forest Cemetery.
Mrs. Miller died June 6, 1999, in an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born Aug. 30, 1940, at Madill, to John O. and Lucille Ayres Murray.
A lifetime resident of the Madill-Ardmore areas, she worked as a nurse for doctors McCuistion, Welch, Martens, Linzman, Wilson and Rose. She and Tom Miller were married Nov. 21, 1993, at Lake Murray.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; two sons, Mark Rushing, Ardmore, and Alan Rushing, Marietta; three daughters, Patsy Wooten, Lake Texoma, Laura Rushing, Madill, and Lyn Rushing, Ardmore; her mother, Lucille Murray, Madill; a brother, Ken Murray, Grand Prairie, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Bearers will be Bill Noland, Ed Burton, Allen Williford, Dr. David Rose, Rick Minor, Dr. Greg Martens and Dr. Logan Beard. Honorary bearers are Becky Ward, Jessie Martin, Sue and Bob Lantrip, Jerry D. Thomas, Sharon Bearden, Deana Burton, Letha Purser, Mel and Luann Damron.

Lois A. Fitzpatrick
RINGLING -- Graveside rites for Lois A. Fitzpatrick, 77, former resident of Waurika, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ringling Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Reed Montgomery officiating.
Mrs. Fitzpatrick died June 5, 1999 in the Abilene, Texas hospital. She was born June 7, 1921, near Ryan, to Edna and Charles Moody.
A resident of Comanche, Texas, she was a retired accountant and widow of James Fitzpatrick.
She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Jolly, Comanche; a granddaughter; and great-granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Children's Burn Center of Galveston, Texas.
Willis Funeral Home will direct services.

Bernice Merritt
MILBURN -- Services for Bernice Merritt, 78, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Milburn First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Branch officiating. Interment will be at Tishomingo City Cemetery under the direction of Corbin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Merritt died June 7, 1999. She was born Oct. 25, 1920, at Sweetwater, Texas, to Adrian and Clara Lewis McKee.
Reared in Divide, Texas, she married Morgan Thomas Merritt in 1965, at San Angelo, Texas, and was a retired cook. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Wayne Estes, Milburn, Tommy Estes, Mertzon, Texas, and Larry Estes, Wichita, Kan.; five sisters, Wanda Hamby, Washington D.C., Gladys Turner, Sweetwater, Texas, Jo Lee, Herdford, Texas, Laura Thornton, Tuscola, Texas, and Maize Mason, Arlington, Texas; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, A.J. and Lawrence McKee.

Lula Mae Sanborn
DOLBERG -- Graveside rites for Lula Mae Dilbeck Sanborn, 73, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dolberg Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne McDonald officiating.
Mrs. Sanborn died June 5, 1999 in the Elk City hospital. She was born Oct. 12, 1925, at Connerville, to Jasper and Lula Gordon Ellis.
Reared in Connerville, she lived in numerous states, including 22 years in Bain Bridge, Ga., before moving to Elk City in 1998.
Survivors include three sons, Joel Dilbeck, Wooster, Ark., David Dilbeck, Tallahassee, Fla., and Phillip Dilbeck, Milton, Fla.; two daughters, Shirley Garrett, Elk City, and Lavena Porter, Jacksonville, Texas; five brothers, Wayne Ellis, Lake Seminole, Ga., Dean Ellis, Ardmore, Elton Ellis, Sulphur, Ray Ellis, Amarillo, Texas, and Clarence Ellis, Wynnewood; two sisters, Sue Gay, Sulphur, and Joyce Wingate, Lake Seminole, Ga.; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Cowley-Krien Funeral Home, Sulphur, will direct services.

Walter R. 'WR' Lee
GAINESVILLE, Texas -- Services for Walter Ray "WR" Lee, 66, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Clement-Keel Chapel with the Rev. David Whittington officiating. Interment will be at New Rest Haven Cemetery.
Lee died June 5, 1999 in the Gainesville hospital. He was born Jan. 21, 1933, in Thackerville, to W.N. and Jessie L. Beavers Lee.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Southern Oklahoma Development Association and a director for the Thackerville Volunteer Fire Department. He and Wanda Jean "Tina" Koonce were married Oct. 10, 1953, at Brownfield, Texas.
Survivors include two sons, Walter, Fayetteville, Ark., and Eddie, Thackerville; a daughter, LaWanna Wheat, Rowlette, Texas; his mother, Jessie Lee; a brother, Lyndon, Lake Kiowa, Texas; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Morris; and brother, Billy.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Thackerville Fire Department; or Cooke County Association for Special Citizens, 610 W. Bdwy., Gainesville, Texas 76240.

Doyle W. Norris
Graveside rites for Doyle Winston Norris, 78, will be Friday, June 11, 1999, at 10 a.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The son of the late Ordan E. and Liza C. May Norris, he was born Dec. 24, 1920, in Ardmore. He passed away June 8, 1999 at his residence.
Doyle attended Oklahoma A&M then entered the U.S. Army. He served as an airplane mechanic and crew chief with the 29th Air Engineer Squadron in Brazil and Hawaii. He was discharged in 1945. He later worked as a troubleshooter and aircraft inspector until he retired.
He is survived by a niece, Jane Goodwin of Amarillo, Texas; four nephews, Jon Harkreader of Lafayette, La., Lyn Goodwin of Tulsa, Michael Hunter of Dallas, and Howard Hunter of Chicago; a cousin, Louise Hunter of Ardmore; and a very special friend, Mickey Lindecker of Mannsville.
Services will be directed by Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.

Edyth Holley
Services for Edyth Holley, 85, are pending from Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home. She died June 7, 1999 at her home after an extended illness.

G.B. Floyd
RINGLING -- Services for G.B. Floyd, 80, will be at 2 p.m. at the Ringling Church of Christ with Roy Hannah officiating. Interment will be at Cornish Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.
Floyd died June 9, 1999 in Ardmore. He was born Jan. 3, 1919, at Coleman, to William R. and Mary E. Titsworth Floyd.
He came to Cornish as a child and was a lifetime farmer and rancher.
He is survived by two daughters, Barbara Porter, Ardmore, and LaReta Howie, Mustang; a son, Gary; and sister, Eunice Stockton; and brother, Bill, all of Lawton; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Sam Porter, Dustin Sloan, Robert Wood, Robert, Randy and Mark Floyd.

Katherine Singletary
Graveside rites for former Ardmore resident Katherine Page Woods Singletary, 86, Denison, Texas, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Rick Mills, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Ardmore, officiating.
Mrs. Singletary died June 4, 1999, in a Dallas hospital. She was born April 5, 1913, in Purcell, to the late William Hunter and Eva Moseley Woods.
She graduated from Okemah High School and attended Oklahoma City University. She was an administrative legal secretary for major and independent oil companies. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Theological Society and School of Unity Christianity. She and Al T. Singletary were married July 21, 1933, in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death in 1964. She was also preceded in death by two children, William Francis Moseley Singletary and Michael Woods Singletary; a brother, William Hunter Woods; and sister, Mary Evelyn Mann.
Survivors include two sons, A. Thomas Singletary of Denison, and David Singletary of Dallas; a daughter, Claire Singletary Hamilton of Dallas; a brother, Dr. Frank M. Woods of LaBelle, Fla.; grandchildren, Jennifer Hamilton Carter, Page Hamilton, Alfred Thomas Singletary III, Kimbelle Singletary and Bruce Singletary; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be directed by Johnson-Moore Funeral Home, Denison.
