Lorene K. Whitmore
HEALDTON -- Graveside rites for Healdton native Lorene Kimberlin Whitmore, 78, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Olive Cemetery with the Rev. Bill McFatridge officiating.
Mrs. Whitmore was born Dec. 27, 1920, at Healdton, to Ambers and Fannie Shannon Kimberlin. She died June 17, 1999, in a Minneapolis, Minn., hospital. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Dude, Charlie and Vincent Kimberlin, and one sister, Pauline Blanton.
She married Gerald David Whitmore in 1955 at Wichita Falls, Texas, and moved to Minneapolis. She was employed by American Automobile Association several years.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a daughter, Tammy Hanson, Minneapolis; two sisters, Lois Freeman, Healdton, and Lucille Holder, Wilson; a brother, Bobby Kimberlin, Plano, Texas; and a grandson.

Sondra Sollars Lyon
LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. -- Services for Ardmore native Sondra Lee Sollars Lyon, 42, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael's Methodist Church in Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
Mrs. Lyon died June 20, 1999. She was born Aug. 10, 1956, in Ardmore.
She had been an elementary school teacher 20 years.
Survivors include her husband, Timothy, of the home in Los Banos, Ariz.; daughters, Sarah Lyon, Indianapolis, Ind., and Rebecca Lyon, Los Banos; a son, Derek, Los Banos; her parents, Harold and Nelda Sollars, Lake Havasu City; sisters, Ann Sollars, Yuma, Ariz., Sharon Haack, Sedona, Ariz, and Carol Bender, Lake Havasu City.
Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home will direct services.

Albert W. 'Blackie' Felton
MADILL -- Funeral services with Masonic Rites for Albert Wylie "Blackie" Felton will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 1999, at Watts Memorial Chapel with Wendyl Glenn officiating. Music arranged by Glenn and Janice Reese. Flag presentation by American Legion Post 99. Interment will take place at 2 p.m. at Arlington Memory Gardens, NE & Midwest Blvd., Midwest City, Okla.
Mr. Felton was born June 1, 1926, in Garza County, Texas, to the late Clay Dye Felton and Nellie Gray Whitworth Felton White. Following several months of failing health, he died Wednesday evening, June 23, in an Oklahoma City hospital at the age of 73 years.
Blackie was reared in Texas and lived in the Kingston area the past 11 years. He married the former Orpha Mae "Pat" Upchurch on Aug. 11, 1947, at Wichita Falls, Texas. Blackie was a veteran of the Coast Guard where he served during World War II. He later served with the Army 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper from 1947 to 1951. Blackie was a Worshipful Master with the Kingston Masonic Lodge and was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Scottish Rites in McAlester. He served a four-year apprenticeship as a sheet metal worker and was a sheet metal mechanic. Blackie was a volunteer fireman with the Cardinal Cove Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of Texoma Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Pat, of the home; children, Linda Dianna Reno of Scottsbluff, Neb., Ronald D. Felton of Midwest City, and Alronda Sheree Smith of Meeker; sisters, Wilma Morris and Norma Ellis of Walla Walla, Wash., and Retha Sanders of Brownsfield, Texas; grandchildren, Ronda Beal, Jennifer Komorak, Scott Allen Reno, James E. Boucher, Christina Boucher, James A. W. Smith and Janell Lea Smith.; great-grandchildren, Contessa Marie Smith, Adam and Brian Thompson, Kelsey and Megan Komorak, Tara and Justin Boucher. He was preceded in death by four brothers.
Bearers will be members of Kingston Masonic Lodge 287. Honorary bearers are Floyd Tabor, Tom Anderson, A.B. Davidson, Alex Taylor, Donald Ferguson and Dean Wise.

Jack Ballard
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Jack Ballard, 68, Garland, Texas, will be at 2 p.m. today at Corbin Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jon Hazel officiating. Interment will be at Condon Grove Cemetery, Milburn.
Ballard died June 22, 1999, in Richardson, Texas. He was born March 18, 1931, at Milburn, to Roy J. and Myrtle J. Howard Ballard.
He graduated from Milburn High School and served with the Navy during the Korean conflict, and in the Coast Guard. He retired from the U.S. Post Office in Dallas.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home; a brother, Pal Ballard and wife, Josie, of Tishomingo; two sisters, Ann Johnson and husband, Melvin of Tishomingo, and Mary Needham and husband, Gene, of Kingston; seven stepchildren, Billy Earl Lemons, Diana Lemons, Bobbie Jean Castle, Wanda Jo Lemons, Diana Stephenson, LeRoy Erter and Michael Erter. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Wanda Ballard; and a brother, Bill Ballard.
Bearers will be Paul Ballard Jr., Terry Ballard, Rick Needham, Kelly Johnson, Scott Johnson, and Joe Johnson. Mick Hamilton is honorary bearer.

Shirley J. Coleman
GENE AUTRY -- Services for Shirley Jo Coleman will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Gene Autry with the Rev. Fred Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Ragsdale-Grant and Sons Mortuary.
Mrs. Coleman was born May 19, 1957, to Willie and Martha Bennett. She died June 22 1999.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James, of the home; three daughters, Shashan Bennett, Oklahoma City, Jamie Coleman and Demetria Bennett, of the home; brothers and sisters, Bishop Holmes, Berkeley, Calif., Cleta Stevenson, Sugar Creek, Mo., Lizzy Brown and Roberta Williams, Milo, Earlie Franklin, Del City, Leroy, Robert and Lois Bennett, Oklahoma City, Arthur Bennett, Channelview, Texas; and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by a brother, Willie Bennett.

O.H. 'Ham' Cunningham
DAVIS -- Funeral services for O. H. "Ham" Cunningham will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 1999, at First Methodist Church in Davis, Okla., with Fox Funeral Home directing services. Pastor John Joughin and the Rev. Joe Campbell will officiate. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
O.H. was born on April 10, 1908, in Pontotoc County, Okla., to Gid and Sarah Ella Cunningham. He passed away Thursday, June 24, 1999, in a Davis nursing home.
He married Ruth Louise Smith of Davis on Aug. 20, 1936, and they had two sons, Glenn Ross, born on Feb. 7, 1940, and John Phillip born on Jan. 6, 1949.
O.H. received his high school diploma from Mill Creek High School. He then went on to earn a bachelor's degree from East Central University, and a master's degree in school administration from the University of Oklahoma in Norman.
O.H. coached and administrated at schools in Wetumka, Weleetka, New Lima, Morris, Ardmore and Beggs for 21 years. He and his wife bought the Chevrolet dealership in Beggs in 1950. In 1955, he purchased the Chevrolet dealership in Bristow, Okla., and he managed it until 1973.
O.H. served as an officer in the Oklahoma Automobile Dealer Association while he was a Chevrolet dealer. In 1974, after selling the dealership, he was elected to the Oklahoma State Legislature as State Representative of District. 29, which encompasses parts of Creek, Okfuskee and Okmulgee counties. He served in that capacity for eight years, after which, due to health concerns and age, he decided not to run again.
O.H. wa a member of the Methodist Church for 70 years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge since 1930. He was also a longtime member of Order of Eastern Star and served as Worthy Patron, and in other offices in that lodge. O.H. was a member of the Lions Club in Beggs and Bristow, holding most offices in that civic club. He was a member of the Kiwains Club in Davis until his health began to deteriorate. In 1994, he was voted a Very Important Member (VIM) by the Murray County Retired Teachers Association.
O.H. and Louise retired to Davis in November of 1984 where they have family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years; their son Glenn, and his wife, Camille, of Houston; and their children, Caroline and Craig; their son, Phil of San Francisco; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; three sisters; and other family members.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the First Methodist Church in Davis or the charity of your choice.

Don Ray Coyle
SULPHUR -- Services for Don Ray Coyle, 58, Lewisville, Texas, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Eddie Malphrus and Thomas Hargrove officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Born Aug. 4, 1940, at Tulare, Calif. to Homer Lee and Juanita Carlton Coyle, he died June 26, 1999, at Lewsiville.
Coyle had lived in California until age 10 when he moved to Sulphur with his family. He graduated from Sulphur High School in 1958. He married Brondel Atteberry June 1, 1965, at Prairie View. Coyle was a professional driver and was in the United States Army National Guard for 17 years. He had lived in Lewsiville since January 1965. Coyle was a member of the Prairie View Baptist Church. He was also a member of the National Truck Drivers Association Million Mile Safe Drivers Club.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Tanya and Tommy Hargrove, Paylor, S.C.; one son and daughter-in-law, Tobby and Lisa Coyle, Red Oak, Texas; his mother, Sulphur; and one grandson, Zachary Coyle.
Services are under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.

Vinia M. Thompson Armstrong
RINGLING -- Services for Vinia M. Thompson Armstrong, 84, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Community Fellowship Outreach Center Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Wayne Reid, Rev. Jack Barron and Bobby Perkins officiating. Interment will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery.
Born Sept. 3, 1914, at Reck to Joseph Arthur and Fannie Hargrove Thompson, she died June 25, 1999, at Ringling. She married Roland D. Armstrong July 2, 1938, at Texas. He preceded her in death Feb. 25, 1987. She was also preceded in death by a grandson; two sisters, Viola Tupin and Zelma Armstrong; and two brothers, Elder Thompson and Albert Thompson.
Reared at Reck and Wilson, Mrs. Armstrong moved to Ringling in 1930. She had been employed the sewing factory at Marietta, a Waurika restaurant, Ringling Public School Head Start program and had worked as a paper hanger. Mrs. Armstrong had been a member of the Community Fellowship Outreach Center Assembly of God Church since 1930. She had taught Sunday School for more than 50 years and was an active member of the WM'S.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Frances Bachmiller Roberts, Ringling; two sons, Don Armstrong, Oklahoma City, and Dean Armstrong, Ringling; one sister, Mabel Thompson, Meridian; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers are Ray, Rodney and Buster Folsom, Will Lambert, Brandon Reid and Gerald Roberts. Honorary bearer is the Town of Ringling.
Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.

Dorothea Hicks
MARIETTA -- Services for Dorothea Hicks are pending with Alexander Funeral Home, Wilson.
Born March 6, 1909, she died June 26, 1999, at a Marietta nursing facility.
Survivors include one daughter, Darlene Bucher, Marietta; and three sons, George Hicks, Marietta, Roscoe Hicks, Jimtown, and Billy Royce Hicks, Knoxville, Tenn.

Lenora L. Lee Slater
THACKERVILLE -- No services are planned for Lenora L. Lee Slater, 55, according to Kennedy Funeral Home.
Born Oct. 27, 1943, at Los Angeles to Robert and Lucille Welding Terrill, she died June 25, 1999, at her residence.
She married Walter Slater Sept. 11, 1965, at Atlanta. Mrs. Slater had lived at Thackerville for the past 11 years, moving from Georgia. She was a Catholic.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; her mother, Thackerville; one son, Clifford Slater, Thackerville; one daughter, Leigh Brackett, Burford, Ga.; three brothers, Duane Terrill, Santa Barbara, Calif., Ronnie Terrill, Las Vegas, and Carey Terrill, Redding Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice, P.O. Box 2514, Ardmore, OK 73401.

James H. Gounah
DAVIS -- Services for James H. Gounah, 80, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Joughin officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
Born July 11, 1918, at Pooleville to James Ernest and Minnie Fowler Gounah, he died June 23, 1999, at Davis. He married Frances E. Gounah July 11, 1953, at Irving, Texas. She preceded him in death Oct. 31, 1990.
Gounah was retired from Oscar-Myer, where he had worked as a sales representative. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He had lived in Davis since 1987. Gounah was a member of American Association of Retired Persons.
Survivors include three daughters, Vickie, and her husband Pat, Smeaton, Janesville, Wis., Linda Longley, Duncanville, Texas, and Cinthia Lilly, Janesville; one sister, Inez Rucker, and her husband, Horace, McKinney, Texas; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Royce W. Hume
LEON -- Graveside rites for Royce W. Hume, 67, Marietta will be 2 p.m. Monday at Leon Cemetery with the Rev. Ivan Poulter officiating.
Born May 15, 1932, at Deport, Texas, to Hubert O. and Pauline Swindle Hume, he died June 25, 1999, at his residence.
Hume married Wanda Kirk in 1957 at Fort Summer, N.M. He had been a farmer for 19 years and for eight years worked as a mechanic for the John Deere Company, He retired in 1979 and moved to Marietta in 1980. He was a member of Trinity Church.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Royce Dale Hume, Rusk, Texas, and Donald Hume, Marietta; three daughters, Marilyn Andrews, Marietta, Karla Haley, Winnsboro, Texas, and Lawauna Satterly, Ardmore; one brother, William ³Bill² Hume, Marietta; two sisters Joyce Brown, Fort Summer, and Rosalynn Lee, Clovis, N.M.; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.,
Bearers are Kevin Satterly, James Sanford, J.C. Scrivner, Mike Buxton, Tom Hume and Brett Haley. Honorary bearer is Bill Hume.
Visitation is 3 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Services are under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.

Robin DeWayne 'Rub' McCarthick
TISHOMINGO -- Services for Robin DeWayne ³Rub² McCarthick, 41, Norman, formerly of Johnston County, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Corbin Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth McCarthick officiating. Interment will follow at Condon Grove Cemetery.
Born May 8, 1958, at Tishomingo to Jimmy and Shelia Sawson McCarthick, he died June 25, 1999, at Norman.
McCarthick graduated from Noble High School in 1976. He was a carpenter. McCarthick was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his parents, Burneyville; two brothers, Michael McCarthick, Poulsbo, Wash., and Toby McCarthick, Norman; and one sister, Kimberly Goldshot, Scottsdale, Ariz.
Bearers are Stevie Paul Warden, Clendon Kirkpatrick, Jim McCarthick, Drew McCarthick, Bob Dishroon, Dusty Lane, Dan Kite and Charles Kite. Honorary bearers are Josh McCarthick and Hal Kirkpatrick.
Visitation is 1 to 8 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday.
