Services set for Earl at 4:47 pm
A wake service for Jonnie D. Earl, age 92 of Weatherford, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Christ Holy Sanctified Church in Clinton with Steven Taplin officiating.

A funeral service will be held at noon this Saturday at the Pleasant Green Baptist Church in Longview, Texas.

Earl died Sunday, April 17, 2005, at Southwestern Memorial Hospital in Weatherford. She was born on Aug. 1, 1912 in Longview, Texas, the daughter of Dan and Tiny (Bryant) Johnson.

She grew up in Gregg County, Texas and attended school there before marrying Odie F. Sanders.

Earl worked for many years as a cook in Longview restaurants.

After her first husband’s death she married Jim Earl. She ended up doing missionary work worldwide and was a member of the Pleasant Green Baptist Church of Longview.

She served as a Sunday school teacher and president of the Ladies’ Mission.

She also was a member of Eastern Star and Heroines of Jericho. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and quilting.

Preceding her in death, along with her two husbands, were a daughter, Helen Hunt; two brothers, Preacher Johnson, Porter Johnson; a sister, Lena Ballenger; a granddaughter, Nancy Sanders; and a great granddaughter of California.

Burial will conclude in the Grable Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.

Survivors include four daughters, Opal Fisher of El Reno, Jealden Carr of Clinton, Pauline Johnson of Longview, Texas, Dott Richey of Oklahoma City; a son, Billy Paul Sanders of Longview, Texas; a stepson, Willie Odie Sanders of Kilgore, Texas; two sisters, Ruth Walker and Ruby Williams, both of Longview, Texas; 35 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren.

Daisy Haston services held at 1:12 pm
Funeral services for Daisy Belle Haston, age 90 of Cordell, were held Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Cordell with Arbury Ritter officiating.

Haston died April 12, 2005 in Cordell. She was born on July 13, 1914 in Dawson, Navarro County, Texas, the daughter of Marion Wilburn and Hattie Hector Haston.

She and her family moved to Oklahoma when she was eight years old, moving to Marlow.

On Oct. 26, 1935 she married Samuel Young. She married Jesse Cochran on July 16, 1947.

Haston liked to crochet, sew and cook. She also loved sports and played softball when she was young. She liked following the Dallas Cowboys, University of Oklahoma Sooners and Cordell Blue Devils.

Haston was an officer in the Cordell chapter of the AARP. She also was a member of the First Baptist Church and had done volunteer work at a Cordell nursing home as well as writing a weekly newspaper column about the residents.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and husband, Jesse, in 1987, were three siblings, Alva, Viola and Wilburn; a stepdaughter, Mary Lou Cude; and a daughter, Dolores Wells.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Jack Loftiss Funeral Home in Cordell.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Anna belle Bush and her husband, Robert, of Marlow; daughters, Annelle Henderson and her husband, Jack, of Hobart, Jane Ritter and her husband, Arbuary, of Marlow, Ruth Henderson and her husband, Charles, of Cordell; sons, Michael Cochran and his wife, Belva, of Cordell, Andy Young and his wife, Shirley, of Norman; grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

Eula Byford services set at 1:11 pm
Graveside services for Eula Estell Byford, age 91 of Leedey, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the city cemetery at Duncan with Rev. Jody Hilliard officiating.
Byford died Saturday, April 16, 2005, in Leedey.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Corliss and Hugh Lodge of Clinton; and a granddaughter, Renne Collins of Butler.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home, Inc. of Duncan.

Lee services set Monday at 1:38 pm
Funeral services for Mrs. Edith L. Lee, 87, longtime Butler resident, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2005 in the Butler Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Wilburn officiating.

She died Saturday, April 16, 2005 at the Bell Avenue Nursing Center in Elk City.

Edith Lorraine Hughes-Lee was born June 19, 1917 to Ben and Eva Mae (Daniels) Hughes in Arkansas City, Kan. She came to Oklahoma as a small child and her family settled in Butler. She attended Butler schools and graduated in 1933.

She married Mr. Riley Lee on Aug. 3, 1938 in Butler and they made their home there farming most of their 61 years of marriage. Her husband preceded her in death in February of 2000.

She was a member of the Butler Baptist Church and the ladies quilting group. She enjoyed playing card games with her grandchildren and she enjoyed gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Delbert; three brothers, James Fred and Bob; and a grandson, Jackson Scott Adams.

She is survived by a daughter, Wynetta Adams of Elk City; two sons, David Lee and his wife Kathy of Oklahoma City, Donald Lee and his wife Ruth of Butler; a sister, Ina Marie Drennan of Benton, Ark.; and a brother Harold Hughes and his wife Valira of Windfield, Ala.

Burial will conclude the memorial services in the Butler Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home.

Services set for Reynolds at 1:09 pm
Helen Reynolds, 85, most recently of Atlanta, GA died Wednesday, February 23. She was the widow of Henry Eugene Reynolds (deceased in 1989). She was born in Oklahoma and graduated from Clinton High School. During her lifetime she lived in Texas, Florida, North Carolina and Georgia.

She was a homemaker for 49 years. She worked as a bank teller in the 1940s and owned an antique shop in Tampa, Florida in the 1960s. She enjoyed selling antiques, playing golf, creating stained glass art objects and working as a teacher's aide in Ocala, Florida, as well as volunteering at an Ocala nursing home.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Luttrell, son-in-law David Luttrell and grandsons Christopher and Jason of Atlanta, GA; a sister-in-law, Oleta Bogle of Oklahoma City, OK; nephews and nieces in Oklahoma City, OK: and a niece in Lafayette, CA.

She will be interred beside her husband at a graveside service to be held in Clinton on April 16, under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.

The family suggests that those who desire may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.

James Taylor services set at 1:08 pm
Graveside services for James A. Taylor, age 64 of Guthrie, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Union-Hatchett Cemetery north of Bessie with minister Doyle Kinney officiating.
James Arnold Taylor died Wednesday afternoon, April 13, 2005, at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was born on Oct. 21, 1940 in Junction City, Kan.

He grew up in Guthrie and Edmond and attended school there.

Taylor had been employed by Jerry’s Wrecker Service in Guthrie for the past 24 years as a paint and body man.

His passion in life was customizing show cars, and he traveled extensively to car shows.

Burial will conclude under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.

Survivors include a daughter, Angel Rangel and her husband, Oscar, of Butler; three sons, James Taylor and his wife, Donna, Mike Taylor and his wife, Candy, all of Clinton, Scott Taylor and his wife, Michelle of White Oak, Texas; a sister, Lolita Hediger and her husband, Billy, of Guthrie; a brother, Bobby Taylor of Guthrie; his best friend, Jerry Jones of Guthrie; 12 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Graveside services for James A. Taylor, age 60 of Guthrie, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Union-Hatchett Cemetery north of Bessie.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton. The funeral home plans to release a full obituary on Friday.

Rites Friday for Landreth at 1:42 pm
Funeral services for Debra Kay Landreth, age 50 of Thomas, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the First Christian Church at Thomas with Rev. Richard Pitt officiating.

Landreth died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at Southwestern Memorial Hospital in Weatherford following a long battle

with multiple sclerosis. She was born on Sept. 2, 1954, in Leoti, Kans., the daughter of Everett and Rosella (Hoock) Caldwell.

She was reared and attended school in Leoti before moving to Thomas where she graduated from Thomas High School in 1972.

Landreth continued to make her home in Thomas where she worked as a secretary for the Thomas Memorial Hospital as well as a Thomas convenience store and other family businesses.

Burial will follow in Mound Valley Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Thomas.

Survivors include her mother, Rosella Caldwell of Weatherford; one son, Brent Landreth and his wife, Jaymie, of Ft. Worth, Texas; one daughter, Misty Waddle and her husband, Richard of Clinton; two brothers, Dennis Caldwell and his wife, Marilyn of Weatherford, Rick Caldwell of Carrolton, Texas; and four grandchildren, Asphen, Keilea and Destinee Waddle and Reese Landreth.

Her father, Everett Caldwell, preceded her in death.

The family suggests that those who desire may make memorials contributions in Landreth’s honor to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Ethel Cooper burial Friday at 1:42 pm
Burial services for the cremated remains of Ethel H. Cooper, age 94 of San Diego, Calif., will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Clinton Cemetery with Rev. Cameron Williams officiating.
She was honored at a memorial service back on Aug. 8, 2004 in San Diego following her death on Aug. 4, 2004 of complications involving pneumonia in San Diego, Calif.

Cooper was a retired teacher from the San Diego Public Schools, and both she and her husband, Byron “Pete” Cooper, had been teachers in Canute prior to moving to California in 1942 when he joined the U.S. Navy.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1986.

She was born in Mountain View and was a graduate of Southwestern State Teachers College in Weatherford.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.

Survivors include a daughter, Jan Zenian of Phoenix, Ariz.; a son, Phil Cooper of San Diego, Calif.; sisters, Irene Austin of Carlsbad, N.M., Dorothy Bell of Sparta, Ga.; brothers, Melvin Hayes of Los Lunas, N.M., James Hayes of Mountainair, N.M.; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.

Bogle rites Wednesday at 3:17 pm
Funeral services for longtime Clinton businessman Merness Lemuel Bogle, age 82, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel at the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home on West Modelle Avenue with minister Pat Peters officiating.

Bogle died Sunday, April 10, 2005, at the Clinton Veterans Center. He was born on Feb. 20, 1923 in Cordell, the son of Ulla Bervin and Josie (Neeley) Bogle.

A 1941 graduate of Clinton High School, he attended radio engineering school in Tokawa and went to work for the Civil Service for two years before joining the U.S. Navy.

He served for two years during World War II. After his honorable discharge he returned to Clinton and went to work in the family tire shop.

On Sept. 28, 1950 he married Ruth Yvonne Hileman in Clinton and the same year he bought into Bogle’s Tire Shop.

He continued in the business until failing health caused him to retire in the early 1990’s.

Bogle was a member of the Church of Christ, Hobbs-Ogle-Power American Legion Post No. 41 in Clinton and VFW Post No. 4465 in Clinton.

He was a former member of Noon Lions Club and the International Order of Odd Fellows.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers.

Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth, of the home; a son, Roger Dale Bogle and his wife, Cheryl, of Clarksville, Tenn.; a daughter, Myrna Lynne Halloway and her husband, Louis, of Arnett; two grandsons, Bryan Bogle and his wife, Tiffany, of Clarksville, Tenn., Kevin Holloway of Arnett; three granddaughters, RaShelle Bogle Simonson and her husband, Tom, of Mountain View, Krista Holloway and Kiley Holloway of Arnett; two brothers, Adalee Bogle of Clinton and K.D. Bogle and a sister, Lorenne Chevosky of Oklahoma City.

Andy Price services set for Tuesday at 4:59 pm
Chapel services for Andy Marion Price, Jr., age 63 of Burns Flat, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home west on Modelle Avenue in Clinton with Brother Patrick Peters officiating.

Price died Saturday, April 9, 2005, at his Burns Flat home. He was born on July 24, 1942 in Rayville, La., the son of Andy and Florence M. (Crider) Price.

Price was reared in Rayville and attended school there, enlisting in the U.S. Air Force on Nov. 2, 1962.

While in the military he married his first wife, Bonnie. Following his discharge in November of 1966 he began a trucking career, working for various companies, including T.P. Transportation and most recently Mangum Oil and Gas.

He married the former Patsy Ann Bussie-Williams on April 6, 1990 in Arapaho, and they made their homes in Clinton, Louisiana and back in Burns Flat.

Mrs. Price attended truck-driving school, and the two of them worked as a team for about six years.

His hobbies revolved around his career in trucking. He also enjoyed blue grass music.

Preceding him in death, along with his parents, were three brothers, Claudie, Walter, C.B.; and a sister, Ruth Dumas.

Burial will conclude in the Arapaho Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy, of the Burns Flat home; a son, Donald W. Price of Oakridge, La.; a daughter, Renee Williams of West Monroe, La.; three sisters, Erlene Shoemaker of Mer Rouge, La., Pauline Wilkinson of Copperas Cove, Texas, Rita Sarha of Rayville, La.; six grandchildren; five stepchildren, Sonora White of Fort Cobb, Sonseria Molina of West Monroe, La., Brenna Davis of Roanoke, Va., Laura Ray of Clinton, Carl Williams of Ashville, Ala.; and numerous step grandchildren.

Rites held for McKee at 4:58 pm
Funeral services for Thelma Leon McKee, age 95 of Leedey, were held Sunday at the United Methodist Church in Leedey.
McKee was born on March 8, 1910 at Sentinel, the daughter of Wilbur E. and Mary E. Manning McKee.

She lived there until she moved with her family by covered wagon to Leedey in 1919.

On April 5, 1935 she married James Hayden “Boog” Arney.

Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, James Leon “Jim” Arney and his wife, Zula, of Hereford, Texas; three grandchildren, James Arney and his wife, Melinda, of Mooreland, Cheryl Arney Crim of Flower Mound, Texas, David Arney and his wife, Christa, of Mooreland; eight great grandchildren, Mandi Crim Horn and her husband, Casey, of Flower Mound, Texas, Trey Arney and his wife, Angela, of Clinton, Joshua Arney of Lubbock, Texas, Brandon Crim of Lubbock, Texas, Jared Arney and his wife, Jordan, of Norman, Laura Arney of Norman, Jenna Arney of Mooreland, Paul Arney of Mooreland; a great-great granddaughter, Kimberlyn Arney of Clinton; a sister, Frances Feagin of Deer Park, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband, were a sister, Bernice Mauldin; and brothers, Claude “Sonny” McKee, O.E. McKee and Cecil McKee.
