DELORES VIRGINIA WOOD
A prayer service for Delores Virginia Deroin Wood, 60, of Red Rock, was 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006. The funeral feast will be noon Monday at Otoe-Missouria Tribal Cultural Center. Arrangements are by Grace Memorial Chapel, Ponca City.
She was born July 3, 1946, in Enid, to Cleve and Julia White DeRoin, and died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, at her home.
She grew up and attended schools in Enid. She married Eugene E. Wood, and they made their home in Enid. He died in 1995. She moved to Red Rock two years ago.
Surviving are seven children, Paul Tyndall of Enid, Shawn Wood of Red Rock, Heather Webber of Enid, Jon DeRoin of Enid, Logan DeRoin of Red Rock, Misty Davis of Ponca City and Blake DeRoin of Ponca City; one sister, Rosella DeRoin of Red Rock; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Eugene, she was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

WANDA M. BARNETT
The funeral for Wanda M. Barnett, 80, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Carroll Barnett will officiate. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery.
She was born Dec. 21, 1925, in Tonkawa, to Dennis F. and Edna F. Walton Cockrell, and died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, in St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
She graduated from Enid High School and attended Enid Business College. She worked as a bookkeeper at various banks. She married Carcel Barnett June 9, 1973. She retired as bookkeeper with George E. Failing Co. She attended West Side Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Carcel of the home; three daughters, Kimberlea Barnett of Stratford and Susan Barnett and Elizabeth Barnett, both of Weleetka; two sons, Ronald R. Barnett of Stratford and Lyndon Burpo of Enid; one sister, Norma Kretchmar of Medford; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, heart division.

KENT GORDON ALWERT
A funeral service for Kent Gordon Alwert, age 65, of Fairmont, will be at 3 p.m. today, Nov. 12, 2006, at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairmont, with Rev. Timothy Dorsch officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Fairmont, with ar-rangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
He was born to Delbert Arlien and Sylvia Marie (Helberg) Alwert on March 4, 1941, in Enid, and died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, at his home in Fairmont.
He attended schools in Fairmont and Garber, graduating from Garber High School. He served in the United States Navy. On Aug. 28, 1964, he married Hazel Marie Roark in Enid, and they made their home in Fairmont. He worked for Pope Distributing Com-pany for 40 years, where he was a sales manager. He was the founder and historian for the Buck and Bow Club, and a member of the American Legion. Kent was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and served on the stewardship committee.
He is survived by his wife Hazel, of the home; son, Tony Arlien Alwert and wife Lisa of Fairmont; daughter, Shawn Marie Freie and husband Brad of Cyril; five grandchildren, Garrett, Bailey and Braden Alwert, Kohl Murray and Tucker Freie; one brother, Robert Alwert and wife Loretta of Enid; and one sister, Moonene Blaser of Enid.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Sylvia Alwert, and brother, Don Alwert.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Zion Lutheran Church, Hospice Circle of Love, or Relay for Life.

BETTY PETRA CHAIRES
A mass of Christian burial for Betty Petra Chaires will be held Monday, Nov. 13th at 12 p.m. at Saint Francis Xavier Church. Rev. Ernest Flusche will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. Viewing is available prior to mass from 7-11:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. A wake/rosary service is to be held Sunday at 7 p.m. at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Tony Crispo officiating.
She was born Petra Perez Rod-riguez Feb. 2, 1911, in Aguas Calientes, Mexico.
She was the last surviving child and the youngest of seven children born to Inez and Cleofus Perez Rodriguez.
Petra “Betty” arrived in Oklahoma after being orphaned at an early age and would become the bride of Harry Chaires in November of 1925.
She gave birth to three sons and five daughters and managed her home and a job at Saint Mary’s Hospital while she raised her family as members of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harry, and children, Charles, Rosalie, Helen and infant twin sons.
She is survived by Virginia Meadows, Dorothy Van Riper and Carmelita Pruett, 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grand children and nine great-great-grandchildren.
The memories of our precious mother, grandmother and great-grandmother delight us and we thank God for her life!

BARBARA KAY JACKSON
Funeral services for Barbara Kay Jackson, age 67, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2006, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Michael Frisbie will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Barbara was born April 25, 1939, in Enid, to Irvin E. and Glenna Belle (Hammer) Pryor, and died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, at Golden Oaks Nursing Home.
She was raised in Marshall, OK and graduated from Pioneer High School.
She married Newton Jackson November of 1958, and they resided in Marshall until moving to Enid in 1963. She was a stay-at-home mom until her kids were in school. She then worked at St. Mary’s Hospital until 1976. She volunteered for many things, always thinking of others first. She was president of Habitat for Humanity and was a member of the Eastern Star, having gone through all the chairs of the organization.
She is survived by three children, James Jackson of Elk City; Michael Jackson of Stillwater and Michelle McCain of Elk City and an adopted grandchild, Jonathon Jackson; stepmother, Lorene Pryor of Enid; brothers, Randy McKenzie and John McKenzie; sister, Dee Dee Ross; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.

BARBARA KAY JACKSON
The funeral for Barbara Kay Jackson, 67, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Michael Frisbee will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

HENRIETTA PANNELL
The funeral for Henrietta Pannell, 84, of Vici, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Redinger Funeral Home Chapel. Ewel Vaughan, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Brumfield Cemetery. The casket will be open before the service.
She was born Nov. 2, 1922, near Coleman to Fred and Jessie Knight Lacks and died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, in Vici.
She attended school at Red Top School and Seiling schools. She married Walter Carl Pannell July 16, 1941, in Taloga. They lived in Chester. They farmed and ranched. She was a member of Chester Community Club.
Surviving are one daughter, Carla Bennett of Seiling; two sisters, LaHoma Edsel of Broken Arrow and Freddie Cowan of Oklahoma City; one stepbrother, Bud Mounts of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walt, one great-grandson and two stepsisters.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Area Medical Foundation or Brum-field Cemetery.

MELBA ANNA BRIIX MILLER
The funeral for Melba Anna Briix Miller, 93, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Hennessey Church of Christ. Lanny Jobe will officiate. Burial will be in Hennessey Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be 4:30-5:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
She was born March 13, 1913, in Canton to George Ernest and Anna Glaesline Briix and died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, in Tulsa.
She married Harold F. Miller in 1935. She was a member of Hennessey Church of Christ and Hennessey Senior Citizens Center. She was a licensed practical nurse.
Surviving are three sons, Dan Miller of Tulsa, Duane Miller of Edmond and Doyle Miller of Hennessey; one daughter, Janice Laughlin of Copper Canyon, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Harold, one brother and one sister.

CECELIA JOYCE COOPER NICHOLS
The funeral for Cecelia Joyce Cooper Nichols, 68, of Blackwell, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Church of the Nazarene, Blackwell. The Rev. Andy Teston will officiate. Arrangements are by Dugger Funeral Home of Blackwell.
She was born Oct. 23, 1938, in Blackwell to Noble A. and Nora Landtroop Pendland and died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, in Enid.
She was raised and educated in Blackwell. She graduated in 1958. She married Jerry Cooper April 13, 1959, in Tonkawa. She married Max Nichols. She worked at Blackwell Public Schools cafeteria, Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home kitchen, and McDon-ald’s. She attended First Church of Nazarene, Black-well.
Surviving are her mother, Nora Pendland of Blackwell; two daughters, Tammy Mira-montes and Patricia Bennett, both of Medford; three brothers, Noble A. Pendland Jr. of Lawton, Johnny Pendland of Avenna, Texas, and Larry Sorrels of Tulsa; three sisters, Margaret Pitts of Blackwell, Idonna “Dodi” McDonald of Braman and Vietta Mae “Cookie” Cole; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and one great-grandson.

She was born Feb. 2, 1911, in Aquas Calientes, Mexico, to Inez and Cleofus Perez Rod-riguez and died Monday, Nov. 6, 2006.
She moved to Oklahoma after being orphaned at an early age . She married Harry Chaires in November 1925. She worked at Saint Mary’s Hospital. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Surviving are Virginia Meadows, Dorothy Van Ripper and Carmelita Pruett; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, and five children.

JAMES P. ‘JIM’ MCKEOWN
James P. “Jim” McKeown went to be with his Lord Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 14, 1944, in Tonkawa, OK. He was the fourth child of five born to Donald and Ella Mc-Keown.
He graduated from Billings High School in 1963, where he was active in public speaking, football and FFA and received the degree of Junior Master Farmer. He joined the Oklahoma National Guard in 1967, where he completed 120 days of active service and completed a six year service with the Kansas National Guard. Jim became president of Farmers State Bank in Simpson, KS, until 1977. He completed the Full Gospel Business Leadership Seminar, 2000 and was a field representative with FGBMFI for six years during which time he ministered in Honduras, El Salvador and numerous other fire team meetings. He retired in March 2004, as executive manager and secretary of the Board of the Community Bankers Association after 26 years of service. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by the love of his life, Sharon Ann; daughters, Sandra Bailey of Dallas, TX, Tracy and husband Mark Mitchell of Lake City, FL, Teresa Newman of Hinton, OK, and Jennifer and husband Bryan Williams of Shawnee, OK; sons, Troy and wife Anna Pierce of Atmore and Trent and wife Kerry Pierce of Sarasota, FL; also grandchildren, NiRae and Joshua Newman, Adam Pierce, Allyson Mitchell, Jessica and Julianna Williams, Elora, Ried and Arden Pierce; sisters, Phyllis and husband Bob Hassell and Lois and husband Dick Waggon-er; brothers, Donovan McKeown and Mike McKeown and countless friends.
