LINDSEY BROOKE RUTLEDGE
A graveside service for Lindsey Brooke Rutledge, 16, of Valrico, Fla., will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Alva Municipal Cemetery. The Rev. Mark Bagley will officiate. Local arrangements are by Mar-shall Fu-neral Home of Alva. A funeral service was held Saturday, March 3, 2007, at New Life Church in Valrico. Roger McFarland and Darrell Hendley, pastors, officiated. Florida services were under the direction of Hopewell Funeral Home in Plant City, Fla.
She was born Aug. 3, 1990, in Wichita, Kan., to Mark and Yvonne Keele Rutledge and died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, in Valrico.
She attended Blooming-dale High School where she was a member of band, R.O.T.C. and Kittyhawk Club. She was a member of the youth group of New Life Church.
Surviving are her parents, Mark and Yvonne Keele Rutledge of Valrico; one brother, Robert Curtis Rutledge of Valrico; two sisters, Mattie Joyce Rutledge and Sophia Marie Rutledge, both of Valrico; grandmothers, Mattie B. Keele of Alva and Edna Joyce Rutledge.

BETTY M. GRITZ
The funeral for Betty M. Gritz, 86, will be 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church. Lanny Jobe will officiate. Burial will be in Hennessey Cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home assisted by Lan-man Funeral Home, Helena.
She was born Nov. 21, 1920, in Lacey to Irvin L. “Peck” and Minnie Goodpasture Norris and died Friday, March 2, 2007, in Enid.
She graduated from Lacey High School in 1938 and attended beauty college. She married Robert L. “Bob” Gritz Nov. 19, 1940, in Protection, Kan. After living in Peoria, Ill., and in Enid, they returned to Hennessey in 1950. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She owned and operated a beauty shop in Hennessey for a number of years. She also worked at R.L. Gritz Jewelry Store and later R.L. Gritz Insurance Agency. She was a member of Hennessey Word Weavers and Thursday Night Write Sisters. She wrote a weekly column for the Hennessey Clipper for 10 years, retiring in 2005. She won awards for her writing on both local and state levels.
Surviving are her husband Bob Gritz, of the home; one daughter, Beth Hale of Woodside, Calif.; one son, Bert Gritz of Hennessey; three sisters, Mildred Mesis of Enid, Helen LaPorte of Hennessey and Shirley O’Connor of Dover, Del.; six grandchildren; one foster granddaughter; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter and one brother.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Multiple Sclerosis Society.

BLANCHE E. MESSENGER
The funeral for Blanche E. Messenger, 96, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Rose Marie Leroy will officiate. Burial will be in Me-morial Park Cemetery.
She was born Dec. 17, 1910, in Fairview to James and Rosetta Cook Monahan and died Friday, March 2, 2007, in Enid.
She grew up in Fairview and graduated from Fairview High School. She later graduated from Wheaton Bible College. She married Cecil Messenger April 23, 1936, in Fairview. She was a school teacher and a missionary to Japan from 1955 to 1973 and was active in Laura Mauk Missionary Circle. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, where she was a member of Crusaders Sunday school class.
Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and greatnieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil, five brothers and four sisters.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Bethany United Methodist Church.

J.B. WILLIAMS
The funeral for J.B. Williams, 85, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Wannamaker Baptist Church in Dover. The Rev. Edmond Rollins will officiate. Burial will be in Kingfisher Cemetery, King-fisher. Arrangements are by Russworm Funeral Home, Enid.
He was born Feb. 12, 1922, in Mansfield, La., to Adam and Ella Morris Williams and died Friday, March 2, 2007, in Kingfisher.
During World War II he moved to California where he married Hazel Caldwell. He worked as a longshoreman in San Diego. He later worked as a chef on the Southern Pacific Railroad that ran from Los Angeles to Chicago. Later he worked at Thistle Inn and Carolina Pines in Los Angeles. In 1972 he moved his family to Dover where he farmed for 33 years while also working as a chef at Cattleman’s and later at Timber Lodge. He was a member of Wannamaker Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife Hazel, of the home; two daughters, Lorinda Dugar and Giselle King, both of Oklahoma City; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, four brothers and two grandchildren.

LLOYD NICKELL
A graveside service for Lloyd Nickell, 63, of Dover, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Dover Cemetery. Alice Wend-ling will officiate. Arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home, Hennessey.
He was born June 6, 1943, in Ada to Rennie Mancil and Edna Othelia Nickell and died Thursday, March 1, 2007, at his home in Dover.
He was a horseman, truck driver and owned and operated a truck stop in Oklahoma City for a number of years.
Surviving are three children, Tina Nickell, Penny Nickell and Lloyd Nickell, all of Oklahoma City; four brothers, Beaty Nickell of Del City, Larry Nickell of Oklahoma City, and Hugh Nickell and Lee Nickell, both of Ada; and one sister, Carolyn Grove of Ada.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.

OCUS WILLIAM MURPHY
The funeral for Ocus William Murphy, 80, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Dave Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Me-morial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born May 1, 1926, in Garber to Ocus and Bertha Millard Murphy and died Friday, March 2, 2007, in Enid.
He grew up in Garber and graduated from Garber High School. He married June Rose Sept. 13, 1947, in Enid, where they made their home. He worked for Pillsbury for 20 years and then worked for O.G.&E. in accounting for 20 years.
Surviving are his wife June, of the home; two sons, Ocus Murphy III of Enid and Tim Murphy of Littleton, Colo.; one daughter, Judy Murphy Norris of Edmond; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Alzheimer’s division.

JESS L. ROACH
The funeral for Jess L. Roach, 62, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Wau-komis Cemetery.
He was born June 29, 1944, in Enid to Elmer and Rosa Jackson Roach and died Thursday, March 1, 2007, in Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.
He attended Enid schools and served in the Navy. He married Brenda Nixon in December 1989. The couple made their home in Enid where he was self-employed in home remodeling. He attended Cedar Ridge Wesleyan Church.
Surviving are his wife Brenda, of the home; three daughters, Marirose Roach of Philadelphia, Sherry Cox of Paris, Texas, and Mystic Kramer of New Century, Kan.; three sons, Jody Roach of Colorado Springs, Colo., David Roach of the Navy, and Lee Mills of Lawton; his mother, Rosa Spaustat of Eaton, Colo.; one sister, Joyce Presley of Eaton; two brothers, Elmer Roach of Sioux City, Neb., and Sammy Roach of Liberal, Kan.; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son and one brother.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, cancer division.

HOWARD J. DOMNICK
The funeral service for Howard J. Domnick, 91, of Enid, will be held Monday, March 5, 2007, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. Rev. Susan Southall will officiate. Burial will be in Me-morial Park Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. today, March 4, 2007, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Howard was born March 28, 1915, on a farm in Burlington, Okla. to Noah and Emma (Smith) Domnick and died early Tuesday morning, Feb. 27, 2007, at his home.
He graduated from high school in 1932 and Northwestern State College (now Northwestern Oklahoma State University) in 1936. Howard earned a master’s degree from Phillips University and completed nine hours of course work toward a doctorate from Oklahoma State University. He staarted as a fifth and sixth grade teacher in Driftwood then was a speech and English teacher in Waukomis in 1937. He later became a principal and supertindent in the Waukomis school system. On July 20, 1940 Howard married Mary Martha Yauk in Kingfisher. She preceded him in death on May 2, 1997, in Enid. He left teaching in 1948 to open a general store in Waukomis, but returned to the school system in 1956. In 1965 he began teaching at Waller Junior High, and then moved to Enid High School in 1969, teaching speech and debate. He retired in 1979.
Howard was a member of the Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association, First United Methodist Church, Enid Garden Club, Oklahoma Historical Society, Sons and Daughters of Cherokee Strip Pioneers and is a charter member of Cherokee Strip Centennial Foundation.
He has written several pageants depicting the opening of the Cherokee Strip and books about Oklahoma such as “Sweet Wine from These Grapes” and “Danny on the Prairie.”
Howard is survived by his children, Sherry Porter and husband Rick of Springfield, Va., Vicki Meis and husband Craig of Centennial, Colo, and Kim Domnick and wife Carolyn of Chickasha; seven grandchildren, Amy Porter, Todd Porter, Jeffrey Porter, Trent Meis, Ashley Meis, Kyle Domnick and Casey Domnick; three great-grandchildren, Jake Porter, Abby Porter and Anna Porter. Sincere appreciation to special caregivers, Mary Hawkins, Janet Roberts, Patty Williams, Marily and Howard Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mary; brothers, Alvin Domnick, Floyd Domnick, Lloyd Domnick, Kenneth Domnick; and sister, Barbara Schupbach.
Memorials may be made to the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research (FPWR) with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.

JUANITA ‘NITA’ BILLINGS
Loving family and friends celebrate the life of Juanita “Nita” Billings, who passed away Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, in Grand Junction, Colo.
Nita was born on Jan. 15, 1930, in Salem, Neb. and was raised in Enid by her adoptive parents, George and Delia Schroeder. She married Roy Billings on June 15, 1947, following her graduation from Enid High School. Nita worked for the Enid school system for 18 years after her children left for college. She and Roy also hosted more than 40 foreign pilots who were training at Vance Air Force Base. She was devoted to her family, loved children of all ages and was an avid reader and traveler.
Nita is survived by Roy Billings, her husband of 59 years; three daughters, Kathy Nielsen of Carlsbad, Calif., Dianne Grice of Redondo Beach, Calif., and Sue Edson of Grand Junction, Colo. and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2007, at Central Christian Church in Enid. Rev. John McLemore will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
The family requests that donations be made to the Nita Billings Memorial Children’s Book Fund care of Central Christian Church, 1111 W. Broadway, Enid, OK 73701.

LADONNA MAE WEIGAND
The funeral for LaDonna Mae Weigand, 69, of Alva, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Marshall Funeral Home chapel, Alva. Dr. Greg Hook will officiate. Burial will be in Alva Mnicipal Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 15, 1938, at Alva to Paul Allen and Edith Florence (Eckels) Bratcher and died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at Share Medical Center, Alva.
She attended Alva High School and later went to Seward County Community College. She was a certified nurse aide and a certified medication aide, working in several rest homes and with home health. She married Carl Warren Weigand Dec. 11, 1952, at Perryton, Texas. They made their home in Colorado and Kansas before returning to Alva in 1985. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Carl of Alva; her children, Michael Weigand of Ft. Collins, Colo,, Marsha Trammel of Tahlequah and Michelle Nelson of Enid; one brother, Bob Bratcher of Summerville, Tenn.; two sisters, Wanda Richardson of Pratt, Kan., and Pat Smith of Alva; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for diabetes.

STANLEY LEON VAUGHN
The funeral for Stanley Leon Vaughn, 73, of Woodward will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Nichols-Zwanziger Chapel. The Rev. James R. Cox will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Vis-itation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born Jan. 19, 1929, to Robert and Florence Vaughn and died Tuedsay, Feb. 5, 2008, at his home in Woodward.
He spend most of his life in St. Louis and St. Genevieve, Mo,, and in Kansas before making his home in Woodward in 1980. He married Edith L. Treece Nov. 15, 1947. He worked in roofing and tandom trucking while living in Olathe, Kan. They owned and ran a taxi service in Osawatomi, Kan., then he drove a truck in Oklahoma for Koch Industries until retirement.
Surviving are seven daughters; Barbara L. Vaughn of Woodward, Georgie L. Cox of Coweta, Ruth Colleen Ramirez of Stanton, Calif., Johnnie D. Baker of Parsons, Kan., Gail A. Cosgrave of Mooreland, Sheri L. Wilson of Raymore, Mo., and Marguerite Chris Scott of Woodward; three sons, Robert L. Vaughn and William (Bill) Vaughn, both of Woodward and Brian L. Vaughn of Mooreland; 33 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Edith, he was preceded in death by one grandson and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home, 1322 8th Street, Woodward, OK 73801 to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foun-dation, cancer division.

KENNETH WAYNE HART
A memorial service for Kenneth Wayne Hart, 48, of Seiling, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Redinger Funeral Home chapel, Seiling. Dennis Adair, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Brumfield Cemetery, Seiling. He chose to donate his body for research.
He was born Jan. 7, 1960, at Woodward to Oliver Cleo and Wilma Jean (Guffy) Hart and died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at Mooreland Heritage Manor.
He was raised at Seiling and attended Seiling Public Schools. He married Connie Witener, and they made their home in Norman, where they owned and operated Big Red Bail Bonds. In 2005, he moved back to Seiling, where he worked as a security guard for Western Farmers Electric Co-op near Mooreland.
Surviving are one son, Steven Hart, of Moore; one stepdaughter, Shanna Craw-ford of Edmond; two sisters, Karen Fox of Mooreland and Sandy Clendenny of Seiling; and one grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
