VENA DORICE BERTRAND
The funeral for Vena Dorice Bertrand, 70, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. L.D. Choate will officiate. Burial will be in Hennessey Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home, Hennessey.
She was born Nov. 1, 1935, in Semour, Texas, to Levi and Christine Price Harris and died Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.
She married Merlin Bertrand July 28, 1952, in Aztec, N.M. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She worked at Smith Trucking and later started M&D Trucking Inc. with her husband.
Surviving are her husband, Merlin, of the home; one son, Charles Dale Bertrand of Lancaster, Texas; a daughter, Linda Gale Will of Hennessey; one sister, Corrine Anderson of Eddie, Texas; two brothers, Eddie Harris of Prescott, Ariz., and David Swan of Katy, Texas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister and a brother.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Foundation.

MYRTLE V. STRECKER
The funeral for Myrtle V. Strecker, 74, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Satur-day at Bible Baptist Church. The Rev. T.A. Chick will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cem-etery. Arrange-ments are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
She was born Aug. 17, 1931, in Fairview to William C. Bouse and Bessie Long and died Thursday, April 6, 2006, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
She attended Liberty School in Orion and graduated from Seiling High School in 1949.
She married Jesse F. Strecker Aug. 21, 1949, in Orion. They made their home on a farm and then moved to Enid in September 1954. She was a homemaker and an active member of Bible Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Flynn of Enid, and Barbara East of Temple, Texas; one son, David Strecker of Conroe, Texas; four brothers and one sister; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse, one daughter, a grandchild, two brothers and one sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Bible Baptist Church.

JOHN M. HALLREN JR.
John M. Hallren Jr., age 74, died Wednesday March 29, 2006, in Oklahoma City. He was born June 30, 1931, in Sharon, Okla., to Mike and Grace Hallren. He graduated from the Univ-ersity of Oklahoma with a de-gree in business.
While in college, he married Mari-lyn R. Ruble of Woodward. After college, he served two years in the United States Army as a 1st Lieutenant in the artillery. He then returned to his hometown of Fairview and went into business with his father, Mike Hallren, and his brother, Pat Hallren. They owned the Hallren Poultry and Creamery Co.
In 1971, he moved to Oklahoma City and joined Parker, Welch and Hadden as a stockbroker. He subsequently was a stockbroker for and the manager of the Quinn and Company Brokerage office in Oklahoma City. From 1973 until his death, he was a stockbroker for Capital West in Oklahoma City.
He was a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity at the University of Oklahoma. He was a member of the United Meth-odist Church and active in the Republican Party. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by his sons, Mitchell A. Hallren, Attorney at Law, Martin T. Hallren, DDS, daughter-in-law, Kathleen Hallren, Attorney at Law; grandsons, Ross J. Hallren, John Michael Hallren IV, and by his brother, T. Patrick Hallren.
A memorial service was held at 6 p.m. April 1, 2006, at Smith and Kernke Chapel, 14624 North May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fairview Alumni Endowment Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 66, Fairview, OK 73737.

RICHARD D. WARNER
A wake for Richard D. Warner, age 68, will be 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006, at the family home, 2701 W. Pine. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
He was born to David Glenn and Edith Marie (Craghead) Warner on Aug. 27, 1937, in Ponca City and died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at his home in Enid.
Richard graduated high school in Great Bend, Kan. He served in the United States Air Force in England. On Oct. 3, 1976, he married Karen F. Weinmeis-ter in Enid. He came to Enid as manager of Warehouse 12 and retired from Rogers Supply Co. He was an avid golfer, competitive dart player and pool shark, on a good day. Richard was a wonderful dancer, a passionate NASCAR fan, and was known for his tearjerker karaoke singing, especially remembered for “Four Walls,” “For the Good Times,” “If We Make it ’til December,” and “Amarillo by Morning.”
He is survived by his wife, Karen of the home; one daughter, Rae Dawn (Warner) Bailey of Oklahoma City; one son, Ryan David Warner of Bethany; “Man’s best friend,” Frisco; one grandson, Jim Bailey Jr. of Moore; one brother, Ken Warner and wife Maggie Burton of Edmond; one sister, Glenda Bragg and husband Hal of Enid; nieces and nephews and grandnephews; mother-in-law; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; previous wife Judy Warner; and friends as numerous as the stars.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Memorials may be made to Ross Health Care Hospice of Enid, Dexeus Oncology Clinic or American Cancer Society.

INEZ CLEOLA SANDERS
Funeral services for Inez Cleola Sanders, 88, will be 2 p.m. today, April 7, 2006, at Community Bible Church, Goltry with the Rev. Dale Cummins officiating. Burial will follow in Karoma Cemetery, southeast of Goltry, with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.lanmanfuneralhomes.com.
Inez Cleola Sanders was born Jan. 4, 1918, south of Goltry to Owen Mahaffey and Lois Talbott Mahaffey and passed from this life on Tuesday, April 4, 2006, in Enid at the Methodist Care Center. She graduated from Goltry High School. Inez married Roy B. Sanders March 7, 1936, in Enid. She loved sewing and gardening.
Inez is survived by four children, Ruby Young of Enid, Vernon Sanders and wife, Twylah Jo of Goltry, Faye Reuss and husband, Homer of Goltry, and Frank Sanders and wife, Kim of Enid; 16 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lowell Mahaffey of Cassville, Mo., Willis Mahaffey of Alamogordo, N.M., and Rex Mahaffey of Thermal, Calif.
Inez was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, on Oct. 28, 1998; two sons, Willis Lee Sanders and Donald Ray Sanders and two brothers, Darrel Mahaffey and Jack Mahaffey.
Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association through the funeral home.

VIVIAN ADELINE ROOTS SCHARR
The funeral for Vivian Adeline Roots Scharr, 97, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church, Hardtner, Kan. The Rev. Elizabeth Kirk-wood will officiate. Burial will be in Hardtner-Elwood Ceme-tery, Hardtner. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Kiowa, Kan. The casket will be open at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and at the church prior to the service.
She was born March 20, 1909, in Woods County to Frank and Eliza Jane Chenoweth Roots and died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at Kiowa Hospital District Manor.
She lived in Hardtner, graduating from Hardtner High School.
She married Theodore Scharr in 1930, later living in Three Sands; Longview, Texas; and Kilgore, Texas. She returned to school for a practical nursing license. She moved back to Hardtner in 1968 following the death of her husband. She worked at Alva Hospital, Hardtner Home, Kiowa Hospital and Kiowa Manor.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, and two brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to United Methodist Church.

DONALD EUGENE RUSH
A graveside service for Donald Eugene Rush, 74, of Pauls Valley, formerly of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Enid Cemetery Chapel. Capt. Camer-on Henderson will officiate. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
He was born Nov. 14, 1932, in Ringwood to Nelson James and Mary Elizabeth Geist Rush and died Monday, March 5, 2007, at Pauls Valley Hospital.
He grew up in the Enid area and made deliveries for a local drug store.
Surviving are his sister, Hazel Lavera Rush Hinds of Marion, Ind.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers, three half sisters and three half brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Washita Valley Living Center, Pauls Valley or Salvation Army of Enid.

CHERYL ANN TUCHOLKE
A memorial service for Cheryl Ann Tucholke, 53, will be 3 p.m. today at Cole’s Garden-Hospice Garden, Okla-homa City. Chaplain Les Hastings will officiate. The Rev. Ryan Mills will officiate at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, Guthrie. Arrangements are by Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
She was born May 21, 1953, in Dearborn, Mich., to William and Lily Tucholke and died Sunday, March 4, 2007.
She grew up and attended school in Flat Rock, Mich., and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She received a bachelor of arts degree from Lake Superior State University in 1975 and earned master’s de-grees from Northwestern Okla-homa State University and the University of Oklahoma.
She married Craig Miller in 1982 in Flat Rock. They moved to Enid that same year and to Guthrie in 1990. She worked as a social worker at Children’s Hospital several years and Good Shepherd Hospice of Oklahoma City from 1997 until her death. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Guthrie.
Surviving are her husband of 25 years, Craig, of the home; stepchildren, Stacy Cullen of Chico, Calif., Josh Miller of Topeka, Kan., and Brian Miller of Guthrie; two brothers, William Tucholke of Marcellus, Mich., and Gary Tucholke of South Lyon, Mich; and one sister, Lynne Tucholke-Shorter of Kansas City, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two infant brothers.
Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, Pedia-tric Program, 4350 Will Rogers Parkway, Oklahoma City, OK 73108.

THOMAS EDISON ‘TOM’ WHITE
The funeral for Thomas Edison “Tom” White, 89, of Med-ford, will be 1 p.m Friday at First Christian Church, Medford. The Rev. Craig VanDeburgh will officiate. Burial will be in Newkirk Cemetery, Newkirk. Arrange-ments are by Hills-Ely Funeral Home, Medford.
He was born Aug. 20, 1917, in Arcadia, Neb., to Frank and Irene Swazye White and died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at Servant Living Center, Medford.
He graduated from Arcadia High School in 1936. He was a ranch manager and cattle buyer, building cattle ranches in Nebraska, Louisiana, Oklaho-ma, Texas, Missouri and Cali-fornia before retiring. He ranched for himself 18 years. He was a member of Odd Fellows, Polled Hereford Association and American Quarter Horse Association. He was a 4-H leader, assisted FFA groups and was a member of First Christian Church, Medford.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Evelyn of the home; four children, Larry Gene White of Ponca City, Karen Lee Fitch of Medford, Darryl Marvin White of Mulvane, Kan., and Galan Max White of Henderson, Texas; three sisters, Gertrude Kyron of Santa Monica, Calif., and twins, Lula Lybarger of Lincoln, Neb., and Lola Wilmot of Kearney, Neb.; two brothers, Wayne White of Quartzsite, Ariz., and Calvin White of Caldwell, Idaho; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister and a granddaughter.

ELMER E. WAGGONER
The funeral for Elmer Eugene Waggoner, 83, of Woodward, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Billings Funeral Home Chapel, Woodward. The Rev. Junior Zollinger will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Woodward.
He was born Feb. 19, 1924, in Supply to Zora and Jessie Gillenwater Waggoner and died Sunday, March 4, 2007, at his home.
He attended Richmond school. He picked hops in Oregon during the Dust Bowl and lived near Georgetown cutting firewood for a living.
He married Robertta Irene Lehman July 22, 1943, in Woodward. He worked in the produce business during the 1950s and 1960s and later was self-employed. He worked as a mechanic for Carl Ticer and worked on harvest in North Dakota and South Dakota. He worked for Woodward County as a road grader operator.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Robertta of the home; three sons, Eugene Waggoner, Jerry Waggoner and Ronnie Waggoner; one daughter, Kathy Coons; one brother, John Waggoner; one sister, Leora Evans; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, four brothers and one granddaughter.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to American Cancer Society.
