Bonnie Wann services held
Funeral services for Mrs. Bonnie Wann, age 88 of Cordell, were held this afternoon at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Cordell with Rev. Doyle Roark officiating. Mrs. Wann died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at the Cordell Christian Home. She was born on July 27, 1914 in Muldrow, the daughter of Jim and Rosie Spence. She was married to Odis O. Wann on Nov. 10, 1929 at Muldrow. The family moved to Dill City in 1975. Mrs. Wann was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Preceding her in death were three brothers, a sister; and her husband, Odis, in 1986. Interment was in the South Burns Cemetery at Dill City. Survivors include three children, Lucille Pacios of Clinton, Bobby Wann and his wife, Mary, of Erick, Perry Sikes of Dill City; 16 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 23 great-great grandchildren.

Rites Tuesday for McCorkle
Graveside services for former Arapaho resident Mrs. Eunice Lois McCorkle, age 98 of Denison, Texas, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Arapaho Cemetery with Rev. Buck Nicholson officiating. Mrs. McCorkle died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at the Homestead Nursing Hzome in Denison. She was born on Nov. 11, 1904 in Hatfield, Ark., the youngest of eight children of William and Molly Littlepage. She married Melvin Dee McCorkle, Sr. on July 8, 1924 in Idabel. Mrs. McCorkle was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Reno, Nev. and a former member of the Broadway Heights Baptist Church in Clinton. Preceding her in death, along with her husband and parents; were a daughter, Vera Lee Sorensen; and her brothers and sisters. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kiesau-Marler Funeral Home in Clinton. Survivors include a son, Melvin Dee McCorkle, Jr. of Denison, Texas; grand-children, Kelly Dee and Deanna McCorkle of Arlington, Texas, Kim and Charlie Bradshaw of Dallas, Texas, Sonja and Damon Palmer of Reno, Nev.; three great grand-children, Palmer and Reagan Bradshaw of Dallas, Texas, Cole Sorensen of Reno, Nev.; special nieces, Ann Rae Wood of Adin, Calif., JoAnn Wood of Reno, Nev., Sue Edgerton of Adin, Calif.

Services held for Donelson
Funeral services for George “Bud” Donelson, age 70 of Dumas, Texas, were held this afternoon in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel of the Kiesau-Marler Funeral Home in Clinton with pastor Wendell Folsom officiating. Donelson died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, in Amarillo, Texas. He was born on Feb. 22, 1932 in Murray, Ky., the son of Ewin “K.Y.” and Mable (Miller) Donelson. Having served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956, Donelson married Phyllis Jean Smith on Sept. 29, 1956 in Stafford. He was a retired field technician with Natural Gas Pipeline. He and his wife had managed the miniature golf course in Clinton for 15 years. He was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church in Arapaho where he served as a deacon. Donelson enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. Interment will be in the Clinton Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Jean (Smith) Donelson of the home in Dumas, Texas; sons, Jeremy Donelson and his wife, Barbara, of Marshall, Mo., Michael Donelson of Dumas, Texas; daughters, Cathy McEntire and her husband, Donnie, of Dumas, Texas, Carla Hebb and her husband, Homer, of Aurora, W.Va.; a brother, Audy Donelson and his wife, Jan, of Canton, Texas; sisters, Lavern Riley, Nova Adams, Ruby Donelson, all of Amarillo, Texas; seven grandchildren; and a great grand-child. Preceding him in death, along with his parents, was his stepmother, Mary Kliewer; and a brother, Raymond Donelson.

Heap of Birds rites Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Heap of Birds, age 73 of Thomas, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Oto Hall eight miles north of Weatherford with Lawrence Hart, Max Malone and Gerald Panana officiating. Wake service will be held at the Oto Hall at 6 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Heap of Birds died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at her home south of Thomas. She was born on April 29, 1929 in McClure, the daughter of Fred and Ada (Blackwolf) Standingwater. Reared in the McClure area northeast of Hammon, she attended school at Sacred Heart Catholic School in El Reno, Haskell Indian Institute and Hammon High School. She completed her education in Lawton where she became a licensed practical nurse (LPN). On July 3, 1948 she married Alfrich Heap of Birds in Ft. Defiance, Ariz. They made their home there for 15 years before moving to Weatherford and then south of Thomas in 1976. Burial will be in the Chief Black Short Nose Original Allotment south of Thomas under the direction of the Lockstone Funeral Home in Weatherford. Survivors include her husband, Alfrich, of the home; two sons, Kingsley Heap of Birds and his wife, Margaret, and Cheevers Heap of Birds, all of Thomas; three daughters, Cleo Peacock and her husband, John, of Gallup, N.M., Celeste Medicine Bird of Grand Prairie, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Emma Lou Standingwater Brewer of Elk City; and an adopted sister, Beatrice Tracey of Farmington, N.M. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were two brothers, Robert and Fred, Jr.; a son, Daniel; two grandsons,. Voh Pe Hume and Ambrose; and a great granddaughter, Edwina Sankey.

Mary Harris rites slated
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Belle Harris, age 84 of Wichita, Kans., will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Lakeview Funeral Home at 12100 E. 13th Street in Wichita. Mrs. Harris, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at the Haysville (Kans.) Nursing Center. She was born on Aug. 12, 1918 in Clinton, the daughter of William and Nancy (Love) Rigney. She was married on July 16, 1938 at Clinton to Sam Harris, Jr., and he preceded her in death in 1996. Mrs. Harris had retired after having worked as a school baker mostly for the Minneha School at Wichita, Kans. She also had lived for a time at Dixon, Calif. Burial will be in the Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Wichita, Kans. Survivors include four sons, Wade Harris of Carpinteria, Calif., Harold Harris of Phoenix, Ariz., Kenneth Harris of Wichita, Kans., Bruce Harris of Goddard, Kans.; two daughters, Sandra Anderson of Wichita, Kans., Peggy Makinson of Sapulpa; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren. The family suggests that those who desire may make memorial contributions in her honor to the American Diabetes Association, 837 S. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67211.

Battey rites held
Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Louise Battey, age 77 of Cordell, were held this morning at the Jack Loftiss Funeral Home Chapel in Cordell. Mrs. Battey died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2002, in Abilene, Texas. She was born on March 6, 1925 at Cottle, Texas, the daughter of John Henry and Mary Olivia Cole Whitener.

Ida Moore Funeral Set
Funeral services for Ms. Ida Marie Moore, age 58 of Clinton, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton with minister Pat Peters officiating. Ms. Moore died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at the Weatherford Living Center. She was born on March 23, 1944 in Clinton, the daughter of Curtis and Beulah Drusella (Shoop) Taylor. She grew up in Clinton, attending school at Clinton, Elk City and Sayre before returning to Clinton in 1959 where she lived until she moved to the Weatherford Living Center. She was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed crafts and handiwork. Burial will be in the Parkersburg Cemetery southwest of Clinton. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Jo Long of Sayre; two sisters, Martha Graybill of Weatherford, Sharlene Brinkley of Neosho, Mo.; two brothers, Frank Taylor of Hinton, Dale T. Taylor of Clinton; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Danny Bailey services set
Funeral services for former Clinton resident Danny D. Bailey, age 64 of Hobart, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Apache with Rev. A.L. Swagerty officiating, assisted by Rev. Shane Hall. Bailey died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at Oklahoma City following a battle with cancer. He was born on Sept. 3, 1938 at Apache, the son of Herbert L. and Hazel Love Bailey. He married Berverly Bodenstein in 1969 at Apache. Bailey was manager of the T.H. Rogers Lumber Co. in Apache for 12 years before moving to Clinton to manage the chain’s lumber yard there. He retired from T.H. Rogers in 1989 with 30 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clinton as well as the Clinton Kiwanis Club. Following his retirement, Bailey worked for a short time selling Sears home improvement products. In 1992 he bought and managed the HiWay Inn Motel in Hobart where he resided at the time of his death. He was a member of the Hobart Chamber of Commerce. Bailey served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964. He was an avid University of Oklahoma Sooners fan and loved to golf and travel with his family. He also enjoyed reading and watching westerns. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery at Apache under the direction of the Crews Funeral Home in Apache. Survivors include his wife, Beverly, of the home in Hydro; two daughters, Shelley Ogle and her husband, Jerry, of Norman, Danya Pickard and her husband, Danny, Harrah; seven grandchildren, Dathon, Jordan and Kaylan Pickard, Trey Denton, Celia, Ryan and Jacob Ogle; two sisters, June Myers and her husband, Jack, of Oklahoma City, Pat Huber and her husband, Maurice, of Oklahoma City; four brothers, Lawrence Bailey of Albuquerque, N.M.; Walter Bailey and his wife, Robin, of Apache, Dick Bailey and his wife, Wilda, of Apache, Stanley Bailey and his wife, Betty, of Cyril; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were a sister, Leatrice Williams; and a sister-in-law, Betty Powell Bailey.

Dressler rites set Tuesday
Funeral services for Mrs. Oneita Louise (Dorsey) Dressler, age 74 of Mustang, will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in the Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service with interment to follow at 2:30PM in the Clinton Cemetery. Mrs. Dressler died Saturday, January 25, 2003 at Sycamore Square Nursing Center. in Mustang. She was formerly of Reedly and Fresno, Calif. and Clinton. She was born on Jan. 11, 1929 in Clinton, the daughter of Lewis P. Dorsey and Nova M. (Perry) Dorsey. After growing up in Marietta and Clinton, she met and later married Robert L. Dressler on August 25, 1945 in Clinton. They were married 56 years and had one son, Richard Lee Dressler. Oneita graduated as a licensed practical nurse in 1954 and later as a medical technologist from the former Southwestern State College in Weatherford. The family moved to California where Oneita continued to work in the medical profession and was a member of the Reedley Business and Professional Women’s Club. In 1980 she and her family moved to Mustang where she lived for 23 years. She last worked for Dr. Harold Thiessen at Peachtree Health Center in Mustang. She was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Yukon and the Oklahoma Eastern Star, Clinton Chapter No. 207. Mrs. Dressler was an artist, a doll collector, an avid cook, a flower gardener and lover of animals. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Richard, and in 2001, her husband Robert. Survivors include sisters, Valieta Routon and husband Harold of St. Francisville, La., Helen Sue Smith and husband Gene of Arco, Idaho; sisters-in-law Annie Inch of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Pa., Amy Lucas of Sunbury, Pa, Helen Hardy and husband Albert of Rockville, Md. and Maud Dressler; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and special friends, Larry and Pat Bagwell, Vonnie Garner and Joyce Ann Williams.

Alsobrook rites slated
Funeral services for Jewel F. Alsobrook, age 75 of Clinton, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, in the chapel of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home. Alsobrook died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at the Clinton Veterans Center. He was born on June 30, 1927 in a log cabin in Franklin County, Texas, the son of Jewel and Bertha (Edge) Alsobrook. After growing up in Texas and attending school in Texas and New Mexico, he earned a technical degree in electronics. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served in the South Pacific. After his honorable discharge he re-enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Europe, Japan and the Korean War before earning the rank of sergeant major and an honorable discharge in 1954. On Jan. 6, 1958 he married Miss Hazel Dunagan at Carlsbad, N.M. They settled in Hobart and he opened his own TV and appliance sales and repair shop. In 1974 they moved to Clinton, and he opened a TV repair shop. He retired in 1992. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents and wife, was a son, Richard; and two sisters, Bonnie Alsobrook and Evelyn French. Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Karen Sue Yingling of Longmont, Colo., Shirlin Ashby of Oklahoma City; two sons, Benjamin Dale Carpenter of Philadelphia, Pa., Michael Alsobrook of Lexington Park, Md.; a sister, Barbara Eason of Winnsboro, Texas; a stepsister, Ruth Dunagan of Amarillo, Texas; six grandchildren; a great grandchild.

Carolyn Walker services slated
Funeral services for Clinton native Mrs. Carolyn Joan (Palmer) Walker, age 57 of Oklahoma City, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home with minister Doyle Kinney officiating. Mrs. Walker died suddenly of an apparent heart attack at her Oklahoma City home Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003. She was born on Feb. 3, 1945 at Clinton, the daughter of Leo and Joy (Fortner) Palmer. She grew up in Putnam and graduated from high school there in 1963 before going on to attend college at Oklahoma State University, Southwestern Okla-homa State University and the University of Missouri in Columbia where she earned a Master Degree in psychology. She married Curtis Dean Walker on Sept. 4, 1964 at Clinton. She taught high school at Arapaho for one year, was a guidance counselor in Missouri, worked as a psychologist in Lawton and owned and operated H&R Block in Clinton during the 1980’s. She was self-employed in Oklahoma City at the time of her death. Preceding her in death was her father, Leo Palmer. Burial will conclude in the Prairie Bell Cemetery near Putnam. Survivors include her mother, Joy Palmer of Clinton; a son, Ernie Walker of Oklahoma City; a brother, Leo Palmer, Jr., of Strong City, Kans.; three nieces, Rebecca Edwards of Concord, N.C., Gina Kewley of Burlington, Kans., Raquel Fehr of Lebo, Kans.; and a nephew, Ron Palmer of Cashion.

Audrey Endres rites observed
Funeral services for Mrs. Audrey Maud Endres, age 101 of Weatherford, were held Monday morning in the chapel of the Lockstone Funeral Home at Weatherford with Rev. Lynn Brack officiating. Mrs. Endres died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Maple Lawn Manor in Hydro. She was born on June 16, 1901 near Custer City, the daughter of Charles and Maggie Hoyt. She attended school at Custer City and Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. Mrs. Endres taught elementary school at Martha, Victor and El Reno. She married Leo H. Endres of Thomas on Jan. 16, 1925. They farmed near Thomas and Custer City before retiring in Weatherford. Her last years were spent at Maple Lawn Manor in Hydro. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Deer Creek Home Demonstration Club. Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, were a daughter, Evalyn Matthews; a sister, Ila Dalrymple; and a daughter-in-law, Phyliss. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery at Weatherford. Survivors include two sons, Robert “Bob” Endres of Alvord, Texas, Clarence “Bud” Endres of Apache Junction; a sister, Lorene Bearce of San Fernando, Calif.; a son-in-law, Gerald Matthews; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.

Earl Smith dies
The death of Earl Lee Smith, age 63 of Cordell, on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, has been reported by the McClure Funeral Home at Cordell. Smith had farmed for the past 16 years and had worked as a dietician in the Sacramento, Calif. area for 11 years prior to that. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Smith was born Jan. 29. 1939 at Cordell, the son of Leland and Jessie Mae (Watson) Smith.

Suggs rites held
Funeral services for former Gotebo-Cordell area resident Mrs. Parzedia Gross Suggs, age 103 of Wichita, Kans., were held Monday at the First Baptist Church in Cordell with burial in the Gotebo Cemetery. Mrs. Suggs died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at the Sandpiper Bay Health Care Center in Wichita, Kans. She was born on Aug. 6, 1899 at Rex, Ark. Parzedia and her husband, John, operated a small dairy at Gotebo before moving to Cordell.

Helen Gregg services held
Funeral services for Helen Irma Gregg, age 93 of Hydro, were held this morning in the Bethel Mennonite Church with Charles Rickel and Raymond Unruh officiating. Mrs. Gregg died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at the Grace Living Center in Clinton. She was born on Nov. 27, 1909 at Hydro, the daughter of Thomas and Agnes (Isaac) Green. Reared in the Hydro and Eakly area, she attended school at Hydro and graduated in 1927 as salutatorian. On May 1, 1932 she married Harry Gregg, and they made their home southeast of Hydro. She attended two years of college at Southwestern Normal School where she got her teaching certificate. After college she taught for two years before starting her own family. Later, she worked for the Hydro Schools. In 1962 she moved to Oklahoma City where she worked at Sears until 1969 and then moved to Thomas until 1994 when she finally moved to Clinton. Mrs. Gregg was a member of the Brethren in Christ Church in Thomas. She enjoyed handwork, sewing and cooking. Burial followed in the Hydro Masonic Cemetery at Custer City under the direction of the Lockstone Funeral Home of Thomas. Survivors include five sons, Leon Gregg and his wife, Mary, of Casar, N.C., Richard Gregg and his wife, Mary, of Phoenix, Ariz., Jay Gregg and his wife, Dorothea, of Dallas, Texas, Phillip Gregg of Carmen, Kurt Gregg and his wife, Patricia, of Clinton; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and her husband, were two sisters, Ada and Nannie; and four brothers, Dorphus, Fancher, Edgar and Otho.

Walker rites Wednesday
Funeral services for Raymond Oscar Walker, age 70 of Foss, were held this afternoon at Clinton’s First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Troy Shepard and Rev. Stephen Walker officiating. Walker died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was born on June 14, 1932 in Cordell, the son of Joseph M. and Maude (Stephens) Walker. Growing up in Western Oklahoma, he attended school at Arapaho and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, Walker returned to Clinton and began work at the Post Office. On Sept. 2, 1955 he married Miss Glendora Mitchell in Cordell. They lived in Clinton for a time before transferring to post offices in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas and Enid. When he retired, they moved to the Foss Lake area. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, American Legion and Assembly of God Church in Enid. In his spare time, he enjoyed writing poetry. Walker was preceded in death by his parents. Burial was in the South Burns Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Glendora, of the home; three sons, Richard Walker, Larry Walker and his wife, Melody, all of Enid, Stephen Walker and his wife, Phyllis, of Edmond; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Imogene Wallace of Calumet, Betty Kingore of Clinton; three brothers, M.R. “Chuck” Walker of Oklahoma City, L.D. Walker of Godly, Texas and J.C. Walker of Calumet.

J.D. Barnhart funeral slated
Funeral services for former Clinton resident J.D. Barnhart, age 75 of Duncan, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church Chapel in Clinton. Burial will conclude in the Fairlawn Cemetery at Elk City. Barnhart died Monday morning, Jan. 20, 2003, at his Duncan home as the result of a fire. He was born on July 26, 1927 at Boonesville, Ark., the son of Jack and Nora Barnhart. He started school in Boonesville but quit at an early age to start working in the coal mines and oil-fields. On Nov. 30, 1956 he married Imogene Luman in Elk City. They moved to Clinton in 1960, and J.D. worked for Mil Park Trucking until his retirement in 1987. The Barnharts moved to Duncan in 2001 to be closer to their family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton. Survivors include his wife, Imogene “Hummingbird,” of Duncan; five daughters, Billie Jean Plaster of Sayre, Shirley Crosby of Erick, Darlene Odom and Barbara Davis, both of Duncan, LaQuita Garthel of Lubbock, Texas; a son, Odell Hutton of Erick; 19 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nina Fisher, age 92 of Thomas, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Thomas with burial in the Mound Valley Cemetery under the direction of the Lockstone Funeral Home of Thomas. Mrs. Fisher died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at the Seiling Nursing Center. She was born on March 14, 1910 at Eagle City, the daughter of Levy and Beatrix (Hiatt) Scott.

Joy Mosburg rites Monday
Funeral services for Mrs. Joy Carolyn Mosburg, age 64 of Weatherford, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Weatherford with Jon Goeringer and Sandy Shepherd officiating. Mrs. Mosburg died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at her home. She was born on April 4, 1938 northwest of Custer City, the daughter of Henry Wayne and Ethra Frances (Fisher) Renison. Reared in the Custer City area, she attended Antioch and Independence Schools before graduating from Custer City High School in 1956. On Dec. 22, 1955 she married Leon Mosburg in Thomas, and they made their home on the family farm where she lived until the time of her death. Mrs. Mosburg worked alongside her husband in the family farming operation and was an Honorary Master Gardener. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Weatherford under the direction of the Lockstone Funeral Home in Weatherford. Survivors include her husband, Leon, of their home northwest of Weatherford; three sons, Darrell Mosburg and his wife, Debbie, of Custer City, Don Mosburg of Weatherford, Kelly Mosburg and his wife, Dawna, of Clinton; two daughters, Lita Giblet and her husband, Brad, of Hydro, Jackie Carder and her husband, Barry, of Weatherford; 14 grandchildren; a brother, Billy Renison of Custer City; two sisters-in-law, Alta Porter and Opal Cornelson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death, along with her parents, was a sister-in-law, Georgeina Renison. The family suggests that those who desire may make memorial contributions in her honor to the charity of their choice or plant a tree in her honor.

Charles Jones rites Saturday
Funeral services for Charles M. Jones, age 72 of Clinton, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Bethany Baptist Church in east Clinton with Rev. Billy Mucker and Rev. Tyrone Lewis officiating. Jones died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at Integris Clinton Regional Hospital. He was born on March 9, 1930 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of George and Pauline (Sheets) Jones. Growing up in Dayton, he graduated from high school there. On Dec. 19, 1955 he married Miss Patricia Madden. He joined the U.S. Air Force and served his country for 20 years. In addition to stateside service, he also was stationed in Indochina and Vietnam. After his retirement from the military he went back to college and earned a degree in child development. Jones put in many hours as a volunteer. He worked in Mercedes, Calif. as chairperson of the United Way and served for three terms as president of Mercedes Community Action. He also worked as curator of the U.S. Air Force Museum. On Jan. 12, 1973 he married Lizzie Louise Blue. They moved to Oklahoma in 1997, settling in Weatherford before moving to Clinton two years later. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were a daughter, Charzena; a grandson, Terrance Rainge; and two brothers, George, Jr. and Zeb. Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home of Clinton. Survivors include his wife, Lizzie, of the Clinton home; the mother of his children, Rev. Patricia M. Whitley of Bellville, Ill.; two daughters, Donna Boyd of Dayton, Ohio, Camelia Wilson of Decatur, Ga.; a son, Charles M. Jones, Jr. of Springfield, Mo.; stepchildren, Wendy Nelson of Stockton, Calif., Doris M. Dunmola of Stone Mountain, Ga., Rev. Anthony A. Rainge of Durham, N.C.; 21 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.

Georgia Davis rites Thursday
Memorial services for former longtime Albuquerque, N.M. businesswoman and Clinton native Mrs. Georgia Armstrong Davis, age 71 of Tucson, Ariz., will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Broadway Chapel of the Bring Fu-neral Home in Tucson, Ariz. Mrs. Davis died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003. She was born on May 13, 1931 in Clinton, the daughter of Albert and Jewel Armstrong. She went to school and spent most of her life in Clinton. After marriage to James H. Davis, she resided in Albuquerque, N.M. and was very successful in real estate sales for 20 years. She moved to Tucson in 1997 where she enjoyed the remainder of her life enjoying her family and especially her grandchildren. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was a brother, John Albert Armstrong. Survivors include her husband, James H.; a daughter, Janice Cathey and her husband, Donny; four grandsons, Matt, Troy, Andy and Geordy; a granddaughter, Carly; and a brother, Robert Craig Armstrong of Sherman, Texas. The family has suggested that those who desire may make memorial contribu-tions in her honor to the Arizona Spinal Cord Injury Association, 901 E. Willetta, Suite 2306, Phoenix, AZ 85006.

Alice Myers dies
Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Gray Holder Myers, age 83 of Cordell, were scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Cordell with burial in the Lawnview Cemetery at Cordell under the direction of the Jack Loftiss Funeral Home in Cordell. Mrs. Myers died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003. She was born on March 25, 1919 at Creta, the daughter of James Daniel and Samatha Lee Criswell Holder. She was a past election official and officer of Eastern Star.

Rea Rites set
Memorial services for Mrs. Mariam Spurrier McNutt Rea, age 102 of Cordell, will be held Tuesday at the Church of Christ in Cordell. The service time wasn’t announced. Interment was held Saturday at the Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell under the direction of the McClure Funeral Home. Mrs. Rea died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, at the Cordell Christian Home. She was born on June 23, 1900 at Rushville, Ind., the daughter of John G. McNutt and Leona May (Spurrier) McNutt.

Buchanan dies
Funeral services for Mrs. Maurine Buchanan, age 96 of Savoy, Ill., formerly of Cordell, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell under the direction of the McClure Funeral Home in Cordell. Mrs. Buchanan died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at Carle Arbours in Savoy, Ill. She was born on June 25, 1906 at Cordell, the daughter of Charles and Louise (West) Akers.

Slinkey rites on Tuesday
Funeral services for Mrs. Patricia Ann Fletcher-Slinkey, age 56 of Clinton, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church at Clinton with Rev. Max Malone and Rev. Ramus Hicks officiating. An all-night wake service will be held at 7 p.m. this evening at the Clinton Indian Pentecostal Mission at 18th and Hayes. Mrs. Slinkey died early Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at her Clinton home. She was born on July 27, 1946 at Clinton, the daughter of Samuel and Angeline (Reynolds) Fletcher, Sr. Reared in Clinton as a small child, she traveled extensively with her family while her father was in the military and graduated in 1967 at a high school in Gallup, N.M. She married John Aguilar in 1968 in Arizona and attended nursing school in New Mexico and Arizona. She was employed at the Fort Defiance Hospital and Gallup Indian Medical Center. In June of 1976 she married Richard Slinkey, Jr. in Fort Defiance, Ariz. She returned to Oklahoma in 1994 and has made her home in the Clinton area. Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Sam Fletcher, Jr.; and a stepdaughter, Rebecca Slinkey. Mrs. Slinkey was a member of the Clinton Indian Baptist Church. She was a powwow dancer. Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton. Survivors include her husband, Richard Slinkey, Jr. of Arizona; a son, Richard Slinkey of Clinton; eight daughters, Freida Aguilar, Esther Aguilar, Juanita Aguilar, Sylvia Slinkey, Nizhoni Naranjo, Onebah Slinkey, Danielle Slinkey, Jessica Slinkey-Tso, all of Clinton; a sister, Virginia Chavez of New Mexico; two brothers, Charles Fletcher and Randolph Fletcher of New Mexico; 21 grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews.
