David "Mark" Webb
Graveside services for David "Mark" Webb, 43, of Hennepin were July 26 at Lone Cedar Cemetery, Mannsville, with Pastor James Tines officiating. He died July 23, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 6, 1960, in Ardmore to Melvin A. Webb and Paula (Burroughs) Webb. He graduated from Dickson High School and married Tina (Tice) Wonder. They were married 19 years and had two children. He worked at V.E. Enterprises in Springer until his health would not allow him to continue. On Sept. 14, 2001, he married Tammy Day, who now resides in Lone Grove. He attended church at New Life Tabernacle in Sulphur, loved hunting and fishing and was a member of the American Iron Riders. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Survivors include: his parents; Melvin and Judy Webb, Davis; his son, Dexter Scott Webb, Pottstown, Pa.; his daughter, Callie Renna Webb, Sulphur; three brothers, Gene Webb, Henderson, Texas; Randy Webb, Dickson, and Colt Webb, Davis; three sisters, Lenora Sue Webb of Wewoka and Alisha and Melanie Webb, both of Davis, and three grandchildren. Krien Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Danny Malone
Services for Danny Malone, 46, were held Thursday, June 19, 2003, at Griffin Funeral Home chapel with Gary Reynolds officiating. Interment followed at Oakland Cemetery.
Born Aug. 15, 1956, in Tishomingo to J.D. Malone and Audrey Robinson Malone, he died June 16, 2003, at the local hospital.
A life member of the Loyal Order of Moose, he served his lodge as junior governor, three terms as governor and two terms as past governor. He received his Fellowship Degree in Minneapolis in 1999. He held every chair in Sooner Moose Legion 147, including president, and was currently in the position as Legion Ambassador.
He was preceded in death by his father and brothers, Lonnie and Glen Malone.
Survivors include his wife, the former Tamara Hart, sons, Matthew Daniel Malone and Jessie Dean Malone, all of Ardmore; a daughter, Rebecca McDonnell and husband, Kenny; his mother, Audrey Malone, Wynnewood; brothers, Bill and wife, Diann, Ardmore, Johnny Malone, Wynnewood, Nickie and wife, Brenda, Sulphur, Alvin Malone and Ricky Malone, both of Wynnewood, Dennis Malone and wife, Kay, Texas; sisters, Linda Wix and husband, Jackie, Arkansas, Vickie Malone, Wynnewood, Anita Malone, Graham, Donna Malone, Sioux Falls, S.C., Melanie Middaugh, Ardmore; two grandchildren, Jessica and Josh McDonnell and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bearers were Nickie, Alvin, Dennis, Ricky, Chris and Shawn Malone. Honorary bearers were all Sooner Moose Legion 147 members.
Kenneth Roy Dilbeck
Graveside services for Kenneth Roy Dilbeck, 77, were held Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Steve Biggerstaff officiating. Interment was at Dolberg Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.
Mr. Dilbeck was born on October 28, 1925 in Ada to Clinton Willie and Gladys Elizabeth (Kelly) Dilbeck. He died July 27, 2003 in Norman. On January 13, 2001 he married Connie Rutherford Nelson in Sulphur.
He had lived his early life in this area, attending Ada schools. As a teenager he moved to California with his parents, and returned to the Sulphur area 28 years ago.
He is survived by two sisters, Joyce Snelgrooes, Sulphur and Dorothy Scott, Dothan, Ala.; two brothers, Tom Dilbeck, Sulphur and Jerry Dilbeck, Sulphur. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Clintina Aycock.
Edna "Ruth" Mathews
Services for Edna "Ruth" Mathews, 80, were held Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Davis, with Rev. James Densman officiating. Interment was at Green Hill Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mathews was born May 15, 1923 at Wynnewood to Thomas Ford and Lizzie Dee (Eaton) Montgomery. She died on July 28, 2003 at Mercy Memorial Health Center. In 1955 she married James Harvey Mathews in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death in 1994.
She moved to Dougherty in her early age and attended Dougherty Schools. She lived in several areas including Germany, England, Roswell and Almorgordo, N.M. before returning to Davis in 1997. She was a member and attended Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church of Davis, a member of the Progressive HCE and was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Jimmy Worley, Millerton; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Clifford Eugene Montgomery, Sierra Vista, Ariz.; one sister, Maxine Montgomery Hanife, Dallas, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Florence Montgomery, Davis and Loyaltie Montgomery, Sulphur. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant son; one sister and two brothers.
Pallbearers were Wayne Webb, Buddy Jones, Bo Saunders, Ray Chambless, W.T. Young, and Leland Slate.
Dennie Dewayne Spears
Services for Dennie Dewayne Spears, 66, were held Friday, July 11, 2003 at the Rejoice Free Will Baptist Church in Owasso with Pastor Leonard Pirtle officiating. Committal services and interment followed at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Spears was born on March 31, 1937 at Joy, to Ben Woodson and Avis Bell (Caldwell) Spears. He died Monday, July 7, 2003 in Tulsa. On June 15, 1957 he married Martha Cevella "Cindy" Wood.
He graduated from Sulphur High School in 1956. He spent most of his working life as an aircraft mechanic with American Airlines before his retirement on March 29, 2002. He was a member of Rejoice Free Will Baptist Church in Owasso. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including golfing, bowling, as well as OU football, but his favorite thing to do was fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Martha "Cindy," of the home, daughter and son in law; Kelly J and Stephen Brinlee, Sapulpa; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jennifer L. Spears, Lewiston, Idaho; daughter, Jennifer J. Spears, Owasso; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Kara, Katelin and Jared; sister and brother-in-law, Judith Ann and Sam Orr, Mill Creek and two nephews, Danny Orr, Whitesboro, Texas and Mike Orr, Plano, Texas.
Pallbearers were John Shore, Walter Harper, Ray Hester, Billy Jack Hanna, Lee Horst, and Gary Howsen.
Mowery Funeral Home, Owasso, was in charge of arrangements.
Gerald Wayne Goodson
Services for Gerald Wayne Goodson, 38, Loco, were held Monday, April 19 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Davis with Rev. James Densman officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery, Sulphur with Fox Funeral Home of Davis in charge of arrangements.
Born October 13, 1965 in Wichita, Kan. to Bob Goodson and Mildred McKinney Goodson he died Saturday, April 17 in Duncan.
He married Lin Gerodias on August 24, 2002 in Davis. He grew up in Holdenville where he attended school until he moved to Sulphur when he was in the ninth grade. He graduated from Sulphur High School and attended East Central University in Ada for three years. He was a real estate agent with Goodson Realty and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sulphur.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; his mother and step-father, Mildred and Homer Ratchford, Davis and his father and step-mother, Bob and Charlene Goodson, Wapanucka.
Pallbearers were Cheyenne Stanley, Billy Johnson, Elmo Shaw, Bill Lance, Carl Ratchford and Joe Richburg.
Joan Algeo
Born to Samuel David and Dania Mae Algeo on September 21, 1935 in Oklahoma City, Joan Alego died April 17, 2004.
She grew up in the Sulphur/Davis area and lived in Oklahoma City and western Arkansas after she married. In the late 1980's she moved to the Atoka/Coalgate area where she worked for Rusty's Pawn Shop. She retired in 2003.
She is survived by Pete Hedgecock, Coalgate; five daughters, Dania Jacobs, Debra Armstrong, Patricia Bryant, Karen Hintz and LaVonda Lewis; 10 grandchildren and 16-great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty West, Sulphur and Darlene Guerrera, Vian and two brothers, Bill Algeo and Donny Ray Lucas, both of Oklahoma City.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Arthur Michael Brown.
Arrangents were under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home of Del City.
Alta Mae Akers
Services for Alta Mae Akers, 96, Dougherty, will be held Thursday, April 22 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Allen Richardson officiating. Interment will be in Drake Cemetery with Fox Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born January 24, 1908 in Birta, Ark. to William Noel Hale and Ida Robinson Hale, she died Monday, April 19 in Davis.
A homemaker and member of the Dougherty Baptist Church, Mrs. Akers moved to Nebo in 1916 and had lived in Murray County since that time and in Dougherty since 1930. She enjoyed reading and making quilts.
She is survived by a daughter, Armenta McWethey, Dougherty; four sons, Arlin Dee Akers, Sulphur, Harrel Akers and Johnny Douglas Akers, both of Dougherty and Darrel Akers, Big Canyon; one sister, Dollie Elmina Hale, Castle Rock, Colo.; one brother, David Edward Hale, Dougherty; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a baby sister and one brother, Johnny Elmer Hale.
Pallbearers will be Monte Lucas, Hubert Fultz, Ray Brooks, John Atteberry, Keith Smith and L.E. Norton.

Merrill (Mac) V. McKinney
Graveside services for Merrill (Mac) V. McKinney, 80, Mill Creek were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 19 with Bill Green officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery, Sulphur with Cowley-Krien Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born May 19, 1923 in Georgetown, Ind. to Jesse J. McKinney and Eva M. Keithly McKinney, he died Thursday, April 15 at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Ardmore. He married LaWanna Sue Harris on July 20, 1953 in Laredo, Texas.
He was raised in New Carlisae, Ohio and after high school he enlisted in the U.S. Airforce. He retired after serving 21 years in the Airforce. He then worked for American Flyers Airline at the Ardmore Air Park. He moved to Mill Creek in 1964 where he lived the remainder of his life. He was Christian by faith.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; five daughters, Jamie Harrell, Roff, Kyla Green and her husband, Bill, Little Elm, Texas, Kaye Price, Sulphur, Michelle Jeffcoat and her husband, Jason, Sherman, Texas and Beverly K. Jeter, Alexandria, Va.; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; three brothers, Dempsey McKinney, Springfield, Ohio, Roy (Tut) McKinney, Tuttering, Ohio, and Dale McKinney, New Carlisae, Ohio and one sister, Gladys Clark, Albany, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Wanda Cox.
Oscar Monroe Castleberry
Services for Oscar Monroe Castleberry, 84, Sulphur will be held Saturday, April 24 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Church with Jim Young officiating. Arrangements will be under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.
Born May 22, 1919 in Dolberg to J. W. Castleberry and Bonnie Britt Castleberry, he died Sunday, April 18 in Davis.
He married Hazel Worley on August 25, 1944 at Ada. He was a retired truck driver and had lived in the Dolberg and Sulphur areas most of his life. He attended Sulphur Public Schools and attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnessess.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; two daughters , Lynda Haney, Rush Springs and Deborah Amos, Tulsa; two sisters, Margaret Taylor and Catherine Pylot, both of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Arthur Castleberry; two sisters, Ethel and Effie Castleberry and two half sisters, Gearldine Castleberry and Willie Lee Doyle.
Mary Ruby Penley
Graveside services for Mary Ruby Penley, 92, Sulphur were held Wednesday, April 21 with Rev. J. D. Glover officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery with Cowley-Krien Funeral Home officiating.
Born January 6, 1912 in Ft. Cobb to Thomas E. Zimmerman and Sarah Elizabeth Boydston, she died Saturday, April 17 at Callaway Nursing Home.
Raised in Ft. Cobb area, she married Barney Penley in 1945 in Arizona. She moved to Sulphur in 1960 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was affiliated with the Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She is survived by four nephews, Bradford Maloney, Billy Joe Zimmerman, Audo Zimmerman, and James Haskell; five nieces, Evelyn Cook, Vivian Cox, Betty Zimmerman, Elemia Mark and Oleta Finley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Elva Annie Mink and Helen Melton; five brothers and four sisters.
Charlotte B. Orr St. Clair
Graveside services for Charlotte B. Orr St. Clair, 83, Dallas, Texas were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Services directed by Vondel Smith/South Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Born November 10, 1920 in Chattanooga, Tenn., she died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004 in Dallas.
She married Scott St. Clair on May 31, 1942 in Tahoka, Texas. She graduated from Sulphur High School in 1939 and attended Oklahoma State Teachers College and was a faithful member of Southern Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City for over 25 years. She had lived in the Dallas-Forth Worth area near her daughter since 2001.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Survivors include two children: Kent and wife Sandy St. Clair of Lanexa, Va; Jeannie and husband, David Ware, of Irving, Texas; grandchildren, Stephanie and B.J. Gibson, Ryan Martin, Russ and Amanda Ware, Justin Ware, Camron Ware, Lauren Ware; great grandchildren, Alec and Tyler Gibson; Abby, Calvin, Schaeffer, Ellie, and Marshall Ware.

Paul E. Niblett
Memorial services Paul E. Niblett, 61, Spiro were held Saturday, Oct. 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Krien Funeral Home Chapel with Jack Hoskins officiating. Krien Funeral Home, Davis, was in charge of arrangements.
Born June 29, 1943 to Elmer Lee and Willie Ozella (Barnes) Niblett, he died September 28 at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital.
He graduated from Spiro High School and joined the U.S. Air Force. He married Lana Kay Deatherage and she preceded him in death on October 15, 2002. After serving 25 years, he retired at the rank of master sergeant and returned to college. He worked for the Department of Human Services as purchasing agent until his second retirement. He lived in the Davis and Wynnewood areas.
He is survived by one sister, Mary McBride, Bokoshe; one niece and seven nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Halen Lee Niblett and his parents.
Cynthia Rose "Cindy" Amos
Funeral services for Cynthia Rose "Cindy" Amos, 42, Wynnewood, were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7 at the First Baptist Church in Sulphur with Rev. Charlie Rush officiating. Interment was in Mill Creek Cemetery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born September 22, 1962 in Oklahoma City to James Pierce Quinton and Betty Jean Lamb Quinton, she died Saturday, Dec. 4 at Wynnewood.
She married Jessie James Amos on September 28, 1984 at Pauls Valley. She had lived in the Prairie View community most of her life, graduating from Stratford High School in 1980. In 1984 she moved to Wynnewood where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a member of the Way of Holiness Church and worked for the Med-Corp Home Health firm.
Surviving are her husband, Jessie, Wynnewood; one son, Davey James Amos; her mother, Betty Quinton, both of Wynnewood; two brothers, James Kemp Quinton, Roff and Clint Pierce Quinton, Wynnewood; four sisters, Vickie Spray, Byars, Elizabeth Mae Buckner, Sulphur, Lisa Mary Melton, Wynnewood and Rose Marie Sumner, Sulphur. She was preceded in death by her father.
Pallbearers were Christopher Quinton, Travis Cooper, Randy Melton, Darrell Buckner, Matthew Spray, Dustin Cooper and Clint Quinton.
Robert Eugene Ellis
A memorial service for Robert Eugne Ellis, 69, Sulphur, was held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, Dec. 6 at the Clagg Funeral Home chapel with Chaplain Loren Hutsell officiating. Interment was at Oaklawn Cemetery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born July 26, 1935 in Dewey to Robert Oscar Ellis and Laura Vivian McIntire Ellis, he died Wednesday, Dec. 1 in Pottawatomie County.
He graduated from Caney High School and enlisted in the Army in 1957, retiring in 1977. He then worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Davis for 17 years, retiring in 1997. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam war.
Surviving are three daughters, Ann Williams, Fort Worth, Texas, Alyssa Orosco, Apache Junction, Ariz. and Anita Shull, Phoenix, Ariz.; one son, Vince Ellis, Sulphur; one brother, Clifford Joe Ellis, Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A military service was conducted by the Ft. Sill Honor's Team.
Ronald William Gillette
Funeral services for Ronald William Gillette, 64, Meridian, were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8 at Smith Funeral Chapel in Guthrie with Cowley-Krien Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. A private family burial was held.
Born July 15, 1940 in Neodesha, Kan. to Nathan Lawrence and Mary Jane Lour Gillette, he died Saturday, Dec. 4 at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital in Sulphur.
Mr. Gillette went to school in Enid and Douglas. After graduation, he went to work in construction in Enid. He moved to Meridian in 1990 where he lived the remainder of his life. He enjoyed nature, hunting and fishing and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by three sons, Tony Gillette, Greenville, Texas, Steven Dale Gillette, Moore and Phillip Allen Gillette, Oklahoma City; one daughter, Angela Christine Michaelson, Moore; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one brother, Don Gillette, Meridian; one brother-in-law, Stanley Capps, Arkansas City, Kan. and one sister, Rita Prochaska, Arkansas City, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father and one sister, Barbara Capps.
Maudine F. McKoy
Funeral services for Maudine F. McKoy, 78, Westminister, Colo. will be held at Saturday, Dec. 11 at 1:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church chapel in Ada with Rev. George Warren officiating. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born December 6, 1925 in Velma-Alma to Pat D. Inscore and Grace Peddycort Inscore, she died Sunday, Dec. 5 at Louisville, Colo.
She married Clifton D. McKoy on January 20, 1946 at Duncan. She was a teacher and member of the Broomfield United Methodist Church. She taught school in Fox, worked as an administrative assistant and supported her husband in church ministry in the Oklahoma Methodist Conference, serving in Ratliff City, Ryan, Pawhuska, Perry, Tulsa and the Methodist Boy's Ranch in Gore.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, George and Carolyn McKoy, Broomfield, Colo.; a sister-in-law, George Ann Ables, Ada; three nieces, Marjorie Calahan and Angela Ables, both of Oklahoma City and Cindy Brady, Ada; two grandnieces and four grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Patricia K. Fallin.

Larry Duane Smith
Funeral services for Larry Duane Smith, 61, Jones, were held at 2:00 p.m. at the Fox Funeral Home chapel in Davis with Rev. James Densman officiating. Interment was in Green Hill Cemetery with Fox Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born May 27, 1943 in San Diego, Calif. to George Thomas Smith and Jessie Louise Sims Smith, he died Friday, Dec. 3 at Jones.
He had lived in Ohio before moving to Davis where he graduated from high school. After graduation he lived in Shawnee, Oklahoma City and the Jones areas.
He is survived by three sisters and their husbands, Karen and Gene Reed, Shawnee, Linda and Jerry Meyer, Okmulgee and Shari and Craig Morgan, Tacoma, Wash.; two brothers, Gale and Jody Smith, Lee's Summit, Mo. and Jeff and Peggy Leger, Oklahoma City; his stepfather, Albert Leger and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, David Leger and a sister, Pam Goddard.
Family members served as pallbearers.
Jack David Bearden
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 3 in Spencer for Jack David Bearden, 62, Harrah. Interment was in Arlington Memorial Gardens in Spencer. Born November 30, 1942 in Sulphur to Stanley and Gearldine Seigler, he died Wednesday, Dec. 1 in Harrah.
He was a 1960 graduate of Sulphur High School and spent 10 years in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma, of the home; four daughters, Devonia and Rochell Bearden, of the home; Lisa Jordan, Edmond and Coleen Edgeman, Dade City, Fla.; four granddaughters, Corinna and Riley Ferguson, Edmond and Kaitlyn and Emily Edgeman, Dade City, Fla; four sisters, Ann Chandler, Van Buren, Ark., Diane Stewart, Oklahoma City and Tena Cain and Jessie Seigler, both of Sulphur and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Faye Moore, Oklahoma City and one great nephew, Derec Chandler, Van Buren, Ark. and his grandparents.
John Alden McDonald
Memorial services for John Alden McDonald, 64, St Marys, Ga., were held Saturday, Nov. 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Allison Memorial Chapel with Richard Jackson officiating. Masonic Lodge members of Camden County assisted in the Flag presentation. Allison Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
He died Wednesday, Nov. 24 at his residence.
A native of Lawton, he had lived in Camden County, Georgia for the past five years and was a retired welder and pipefitter. He was retired from the U.S. Navy with 19 years of service and a Viet Nam veteran. He was a Shriner and member of the masonic F&AM Lake Como Lodge and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret, St. Marys, Ga., three sons, Lindell McDonald, Gene Autry, David McDonald, Atlantic Beach, Fla, and Larry Peterson, Elkton, Fla.; two daughters, Darnette (De-De) Milicia, Kingsland, Ga. and Tracey Peterson, Fernandina Beach, Fla.; four sisters, Gladys Cass, Pawhuska, Jessie Clary, Sulphur, Patricia Kipworth, Oklahoma City and Mamie Eddy, Davis; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Deborah L. Nichols Morales
Services for Deborah L. Nichols Morales, 53, Sulphur, were held at the First Baptist Church in Sulphur with Rodney Hobbs, Steve Mayhan and Father Taylor officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery with Cowley-Krien Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born August 15, 1951 in Sulphur to Paul and Lavernne Chilcoat Nichols, she died Saturday, Jan. 19 in Ardmore Veterans Center.
She was raised in Sulphur and graduated from Sulphur High School. She then moved to Norman and enlisted in the Army, serving in Germany from 1974 to 1977. Following her service career, she was a special education teacher at Pauls Valley, then moved to Puerto Rico where she met and married her husband, Tomas Morales. The couple moved to Noble in 1983, then to Edmond in 1988. She moved to Sulphur in 1997, then back to Norman until 2001 when she came back to Sulphur and lived the remainder of her life.
She is survived by a daughter, Lidia Morales, Norman; her mother, Lavernne Nichols; one sister, Laurie Nichols and her husband, James Wilson, Sulphur.
Pallbearers were Rodney Hobbs, Russell Hobbs, Ryan Hobbs, Gary Mobly, Ron Chilcoat and Nelson Cordero.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Nichols and her husband, Tomas Morales.
Leroy James Pitmon
Services for Leroy James Pitmon, 82, Mill Creek, were held Friday, Jan. 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pentecostal Holines Church in Mill Creek with Rev. Frank Trent officiating. Interment was in Mill Creek Cemetery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born March 6, 1922 to Richard Pitmon and Gurthal Schiverdecker Pitmon in Sunshine Community, he died Wednesday, Jan. 26 in Sulphur. He married Leota Belle Garrison on May 9, 1942 in Sulphur. She preceded him in death on August 19, 1999.
He had lived in this area all his life. He attended school at Bellwood. He was a rancher and worked at U.S. Silica until his retirement. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the Army. He was a member of the VFW and the Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mildred Clifton, Mill Creek; three sons, Jackie Pitmon, Davis, James Pitmon, Wynnewood and Michael Pitmon, Mill Creek; a brother, Arvel Pitmon, Mill Creek; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jim Pitmon and a brother, Doyle Pitmon.
Pallbearers were Roger Johnston, Stoney Pitmon, Ray Pitmon, Kevin Pitmon, T.J. Pitmon and Justin Clifton.
Joyce (Griffin) Cates
Private family services were held for Joyce (Griffin) Cates, 64, Sulphur with Cowley-Krien Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born December 3, 1940 in Modesto, Calif. to Merle Troy and Marh Jane Henderson Griffin, she died February 1 in Artesian Nursing Home.
She was born and raised in Modesto and she and her husband had lived in Washington and Texas before moving to Sulphur in 1995 where she lived the remainder of her life. She married Johnny Cates on August 3, 1958 in Modesto, Calif.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny, of the home; one son, Johnny Eric Cates, Oakdale, Calif.; three daughters, Rebecca Jane Brown, Senora, Calif., Laura Jean Morris, Oakdale, Calif. and Tiffany Darlene Stinson, Sulphur; two brothers, David Lee Griffin, Esclon, Calif. and Danny Ray Griffin, Fresno, Calif.; three sisters, Carol Jean Longden, Denair, Calif., Ruth Elaine Henley, Eufaula and Janie Malk, Denair, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Russell Cates.
Chineenah Jo Baker
Services for Chineenah Jo Baker, 83, Sulphur, were held Friday, Jan. 28 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Sulphur with Rev. Eddie Malphrus and Rev. Willard McCartney, Jr., officiating. Interment was in Wolf Cemetery, Seminole with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born November 18, 1921 in Ravia to Dan York and Dollie Fagan York, she died Wednesday, Jan. 26 in Sulphur.
She married Vernon Wayne Baker on July 24, 1942 in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1999.
She grew up in this area, graduating from Byng High School in 1939. She lived several years in Yampa, Colorado before coming to Sulphur. She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church of Sulphur.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Dan Arthur and Dusty Lynn Baker, Sulphur and Jeffrey Wayne and Deborah Baker, Greenbrier, Ark.; five grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Seth Moore, Luke Davenport, Jeff West, Levi Davenport, Ron Davenport, James Baker, Linzy Peterson, Larry Peterson and Wayne Baker.
Phyllis Jean Lewis
Services for Phyllis Jean Lewis, 87, Sulphur, were held Saturday, Jan. 29 at10:00 a.m. at the Vinita Avenue Church of Christ with Tom Byrd and Bill Hearn officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born Novemeber 20, 1917 in Coalgate to Guy Sinnett and Ann Sinnett, she died Wednesday, Jan. 26 in Sulphur. She married A.P. Lewis, Jr. in December of 1938 in Ada.
She grew up in Ada, graduating from Ada High School and East Central University with an elementary education degree. She taught several years in Garvin and Murray County schools. She taught third grade at Washington Elementary School in Sulphur before retiring.
She was a member of the Vinita Avenue Church of Christ and the Murray County Extension Homemakers.
She is survived by her husband, A.P. Lews, Jr., of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Earlene Lewis, Stillwater; two grandchildren, Melody Ann Rucker, Edmond and Regan Ray Lewis, Tampa, Fla. and two great grandchildren, Victoria Lynn Rucker and Storm Michael Rucker.
Pallbearers were Bob Bumgarner, John Cagle, Gayle Frederick and Alan Wynn.
Barbara Imotichey

Born April 4, 1946 in Bennington to Willie and Eula Mae Smith Jones, she died Tuesday, February 1 at her residence.
She was raised in Mantica, Calif. and moved to Florida in 1967, then to Bay City, Mich. She moved to Sulphur in 1978 where she lived the remainder of her life. She married Clarence Imotichey on June 13, 1983 in Sulphur.
She is survived by her husband, of the home; two sons, James Marks, Cushing and Andrew Marks, Octillo, Calif.; two daughters, Robin Akers, and Sherrie Lancaster, both of Sulphur; three brothers, Terry Jones, Splendora, Texas, Allen Jones and Harley Jones, both of Sulphur and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Douglas Jones.
Pallbearers were Jerry Lancaster, Jr., Donnie Akers, Ronnie Akers, Scott McGaha, Kirt McGaha and Kenny Curry.
