Sergio Rivera Sandate
Services for Sergio Rivera Sandate, 46, Davis, will be held Friday, June 23 in San Pedro, Mexico. Born November 9, 1959 to Juan Rivera Rodrigez and Victoria Soto Sandate in San Pedro, Coahuilia, Mexico, he died Wednesday, June 14 in Davis. He had lived in the Davis/Sulphur area for the past several years during which time he worked as a restaurant cook. Local arrangements were under the direction of Hale's Funeral Home of Davis.

Dortha Collins
Services for Dortha Collins, 84, Sulphur will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13 at the First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Ransom officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Born June 19, 1922 in Oilton to Estella (Fager) and Albert F. Herd, she died Saturday, Dec. 9 at Norman. She married Robert Neal Collins at Milwaukee, Wis., on July 15, 1952. She grew up near St. Louis, Okla. and graduated from high school in Moore. She later graduated from nursing school at Baptist Hospital in Muskogee. She worked as an operating room registered nurse at various hospitals during her career. She spent the last half of her career at the Sulphur Veterans Center. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church. Her husband preceded her in death on August 30, 1983. Surviving are one son, Neal A. Collins, Midwest City; one sister, Anna Belle Bishop, Moore; two brothers, Harold A. Herd, Moore and Alfred L. Herd, Reform, Ala. Pallbearers will be Tom Carr, Jim Parker, Toby Todd, Mike Martin, J. E. "Tiny" Day, Bob Seward, Craig Bishop and Kevin Herd.

Dr. Palmer H. Boeger
Dr. Palmer H. Boeger, a prominent Ada historian and retired professor of history at East Central University in Ada, died December 1 at a local nursing home. He was 87. His services were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 5 at the Ada First Lutheran Church with Rev. Gary Brandt officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home. He was born on March 27, 1919, at Plymouth, Wis., to Alfred P. and Elsa Wessel Boeger. He attended school at Plymouth and graduated valedictorian of his class. He received his bachelor's, masters and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Wisconsin. He taught history at East Central University from 1953 to 1989, retiring as chairman of the university's history department after 36 years of teaching. He continued teaching on a part-time basis from 1989 to 2001. He is remembered locally as a fixture at the Travertine Nature Center in Chickasaw National Recreation Area where he worked during many summer months as an interpretative ranger. The Park later honored him with a Park Emblem Award for his dedicated service during the summers from 1969 to 1993. He was an active member of the Ada First Luthern Church. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Grace Sternquest on June 15, 1957. Survivors include his wife, Grace, of the home; a daughter, Nancy Ann McDaniel and husband, Ron, Tulsa; a son, Fred Earl Boeger and wife, Rhonda, Udall, Kans.; and a grandson, Eric Wayne Factor and wife, Brooke. Pallbearers were Ron McDaniel, Eric Factor, Keith Buelow, Lyle Bailey, Lowell Leach and Steve Flora.

Ruby Lee Davis
Graveside services for Ruby Lee Davis, 88, Littlefield, Texas, were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur with with Rev. Bill Leveridge officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery with Brownfield Funeral Home, Brownfield, Texas in charge of arrangements. Born October 29, 1918 in Sulphur she died Tuesday, Dec. 5 in Littlefield, Texas. After high school graduation, she received a degree from Murray State Collge. She was a teacher for a short period of time. She married Willard Davis on December 23, 1939 in Davis. The couple lived in Oklahoma City, Anaheim, Calif. and Hurst, Texas before moving to Brownfield, Texas in 1999. She was one of the first employees at Disneyland in California. She worked there for 25 years. A brother, Donald Skelton and a sister, Nellie Parmer preceded her in death. Survivors include one sister, Maxine (Cliff) Parker, Brownfield, Texas; one niece, Nelda Blackwell, Littlefield, Texas and a nephew, Burl Pittman, Canadian, Texas.

Thomas Ralph Humphries
Services for Thomas Ralph Humphries, 72, Sulphur, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 13 at the Krien Funeral Chapel in Davis with Rev. Bill Freeman officiating. Krien Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. Born September 28, 1934 in Wilmington, Ark., to Gordon Ambrose and Mary Alice (Ward) Humphries, he died Monday, Dec. 11 at his home in Sulphur. He grew up in Union County, Ark., and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1957. After his honorable discharge, he made his home in Houston, Texas until coming to Oklahoma in 1979. He and Carolyn Joyce Miller were married on July 4, 1980 in Durant. The couple moved to Sulphur in 1990. He was a drug and alcohol abuse counselor for Recovery Way in Ardmore and a therapeutic foster parent. He was a member of the New Covenant Fellowship of Ardmore. He enjoyed fishing, all sports, especially football. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn, of the home; five daughters, Leslie Humphries, Jennifer Reynolds and Elizabeth Swanson, all of Houston, Texas and Kimberly Rice, Fort Worth, Texas and Stacy Doughty, Ardmore; five grandchildren, Justin and Ethan Doughty, both of Ardmore, Meghan Grigar, Ashley Swanson and Samantha Swanson, all of Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his daughter's mother, Shirley Humphries; one daughter, Erin Humphries; his parents; two brothers, James Daniel and Maxwell Collin Humphries and one sister, Ollie Rae Humphries. Pallbearers will be Gerald Rice, Paul Doughty, Steve Swanson, Alan Reynolds, Jeff Cooner, Clay Miller, C. J. Rimer, Denton Rimer and Denise Achrendt.

Flora Jean Neugebauer Wendling
Funeral service Flora Jean Neugebauer Wendling, age 77, of Davis, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 14, 2006 at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Brad Jones officiating. Burial will follow in th Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mrs. Wendling passed away on Monday morning, December 11, 2006 in Arbuckle Hospital in Sulphur. Flora Jean Rector Neugebauer Wendling was born on July 5, 1929 in Amherst, Texas to Calvin Estes and Charity May (Wilson) Rector. She attended Frederick Public Schools. On October 26, 1946, she was united in marriage to Floyd Neugebauer in Frederick, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on March 5, 2002. She later married Donald Clark Wendling on July 5, 2003 in Davis, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and a Seventh Day Adventist. She is survived by her husband Donald of the home; one son: Dennis Neugebauer & his wife Merrle of Waurika; one step son: Lawrence Wendling & his wife Judy of Colorado; one daughter: Beverly Metz and her husband Robert of Davis; two step-daughters: Janet Hall and her husband Tim of Italy and Crystal Dorrance and her husband Mark of Colorado; five grandchildren: Lora Enox & her husband Donald of Sulphur, Kara Harrison & her husband Travis of Roff, Oklahoma, Marissa Metz of Davis, and Josh Simon & his wife Jennifer and Tyler Simon all of Waurika; four great-grandchildren: Dakota and Austin Enox, Lucas Harrison and Jazmon Simon. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; four brothers: Walter, Donald, Ernest & Elton Rector; and two sisters: Clara Grimes and Oleta Rector.

Bonnie Helen Hilliard
Services for Bonnie Helen Hilliard, 78, Sulphur, were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Dec. 11 at the Clagg Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Leveridge officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Born October 10, 1928 in Sulphur to Allie (Crawford) and Memphis Stanford, she died Friday, Dec. 8 at Ardmore. She married Roy Thomas Hilliard at Gainesville, Texas on April 16, 1947. She was a homemaker and member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She spent most of her life in Sulphur. Surviving are a daughter, Ellen Sanders, Half Moon Bay, Calif.; a son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Rita Hilliard, The Colony, Texas; one brother, Wayne "Buddy" Stanford, Erick; one sister, Aleda Hale, Linden, Calif; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Ann Marie Frutiger
Services for Ann Marie Frutiger, 74, Sulphur, were held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Feb. 26 at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sulphur with Father Russell Hewes officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery with Krien Funeral Home of Sulphur in charge of arrangements. Born October 10, 1932 in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., to William and Loretta (Peters) Hynes, she died Wednesday, Feb. 21 in Ardmore. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Long Beach, Calif. She and Robert "Bob" Carlson Frutiger were married on March 25, 1984. They moved to Sulphur on April 19, 1991. She won numerous awards for her volunteer work at the Sulphur Chamber of Commerce and Sulphur Days events. She was an active member of the Sulphur Senior Citizens Center, the Red Hat Ladies and is enjoyed working in ceramics. She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sulphur. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, William, Frank and Charles Hynes. Surviving are her husband, Robert "Bob" Frutiger; four sons, William Pitts, Conway, Ark., Richard Pitts and wife, Dee, Sulphur, Stephen Pitts and wife, Denise, Conway, Ark. and Kenneth Pitts and wife, Ivy, Torrance, Calif.; one daughter, Theresa Midkiff and husband, Jim, Adamsville, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, Rachel, Timmy, Jason, Jessica, James, Christopher, Brian, Jacob, Brent and Charles and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers were William Pitts, Richard Pitts, Stephen Pitts, Kenneth Pitts, Jessica Pitts and Jason Pitts.

Susan Kay Green
A private family service for Susan Kay Green, 54, Enid, will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Krien Funeral Home of Davis. Interment will be in Rock Cemetery in Livingston, Wisc. Born March 11, 1952 to James and Pauline Hill in Platterville, Wisc., she died Saturday, Feb. 24 in Enid. Susan grew up on the farm and liked to work in the field with her dad, helping with cattle and riding her horse. She had worked at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital as marketing coordinator until ill health caused her to resign. She had resided in both Sulphur and Davis and performed volunteer work with the Davis Elementary School, working with the physical education department to promote healthy students. She was on the "Safe and Healthy School Committee," helping to perform pre and post testing on children's physical fitness program, which was inspirational to both staff and children in encouraging healthy living. Her desire was to develop a "Rose Walk-A-Thon on Mother's Day for school children to promote good health. A Susan Green Rose Garden was established in 2005 at Fullerton Park in Davis in her honor. She is survived by her mother, Pauline Hill; one sister, Joyce and a brother, John. She was preceded in death by her father. In lieu of flowers, a rose bush may be planted in the Susan Green Rose Garden in her honor.

Harold Glenn "Pete" Hollingsworth
Services for Harold Glenn "Pete" Hollingsworth were held Friday, July 26 at 10:00 a.m. at the Clagg Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Richard Chew officiating with arrangements under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home. Mr. Hollingsworth was born on Saturday, Feb. 14, 1926 in Wayne to Otis A. Hollingsworth and Lenora Edith Davenport Hollingsworth. He died Wednesday, July 24 in Oklahoma City. He grew up in the Wayne area and attended Capitol Hill High school before joining the Navy. After the Navy he was a firefighter in the Tinker Air Base for 16 years. He was a longtime horse breeder in Norman in the late 70's and 80's. He had lived in Sulphur since 1988. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Twyla and Glenn Taylor, Oklahoma City; a son and daughter-in-law, Otis Glenn and Karen Hollinsgworth, Moore; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Bertha; a brother, Charles and a sister, Odessa who was reported missing in action in 1945. Special thanks to Hospice especially Treba and Gina for all their care and support.

Floyd Pope
Services for Floyd Pope, 82, will be held Thursday, August 1, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, Oklahoma City. Interment will be at the Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City. He died Sunday, July 28 in Tempe Arizona. He was a WWII veteran and a retiree from Tinker Field Air Force Base after 30 years combined military and civil service. He is survived by his sister, Beulah McCracken, Sulphur and one son, Tony, Tempe Ariz.

David Autry Monroe
Private graveside services were held for David Autry Monroe, 76, Davis, with Rev. Brad Ransom officiating. Interment was at the Greenhill Cemetery under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home. Mr. Monroe was born on January 28, 1926 in Marietta to Jack Monroe and Ruth Neal. He died July 29 in Pauls Valley. On October 4, 1953 he married Virginia Hinchey in Elsa Brandy, Calif. He served in the Navy during World War II. He lived for a while in Seattle, Wash., then moved to Long Beach, Calf. where he worked in construction. After he retired he moved to Davis in 1991. He loved fishing traveling, spending time with friends and enjoyed living in Murray County. He is survived by his wife, of the home; one step son, Bob Thornton and his wife, Rosemary, Montgomery, Texas; five grandchildren, Scott, Stacie, Stephanie, Bobby Jr. and Diane; two great grandchildren, Katherine and Celeb. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Nancy Sue Monroe.

Allene Rowe Pennybaker Prentice Limb
Davis native Allene (Rowe) Pennybaker Prentice Limb, 91, of Norman died July 27, 2002, at Norman Regional Hospital. Funeral services were July 30 at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Densman officiating. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Limb was born June 13, 1911, in Davis to John W. and Pauline (Sewell) Rowe. She moved with her family as a child to California for a short period of time before moving back to Davis. She attended Davis School through the 12th grade. She married Oliver LeRoy Pennybaker on May 31, 1936, at Elk City, where they established their first home. In 1941, they moved to Seminole and lived there until he entered the military service during World War II. They spent two years in Texarkana, Texas. They returned to Seminole and lived there until his death in 1973. During this time, she was employed for many years as a sales clerk for Sharp's Department Store and Gibson's Discount Center. She married Homer Prentice in 1975 and moved to Allen, where they lived until his death in 1985. She later married Virgil Limb in 1990 and returned to Seminole. After his death in 1996, she moved to Norman to be near her family. Mrs. Limb was a Baptist. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Alma Dora Haynes, and two brothers, Raymond and Ralph Rowe. Survivors include: a son, Anthony "Tony" Pennybaker, Norman, and two sisters, Eva Brown and Ruth Russell, both of Davis. Pallbearers were David L. Pennybaker, Jerry D. Pennybaker, Robert L. Pennybaker, Raymond D. Rowe, Bill E. Russell, Johnny Ross Russell and Dale F. Crowder. Krien Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

AlVera Virginia Johnson
Memorial Services for AlVera Virginia Johnson, 84, Davis, were held Friday, July 26 at 4:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Davis with Rev. John Joughin officiating. Interment is pending for September at Green Hill Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home. She was born on March 23, 1918 in Wynnewood to Al Jennings and Vera (Burke) Jennings. She died July 23 at Mercy Memorial Health Center at Ardmore. On December 10, 1948 she married Floyd Paul Johnson in Davis. He preceded her in death on August 10, 2001. She attended First United Methodist Church and was in Tuesday Study Club. She had lived in her residence for 54 years and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Al Jennings; and one sister, Jane Jennings Wegener. She is survived by one brother, Roy Jade Jennings and two nephews.

Benjamin C. Smith
Benjamin C."Benny" Smith passed away Jan.28, 2003 at home in Corinth, Texas from complications of lung cancer, broken hip and pneumonia. He was born at home in Sulphur, Ok. on 19 March 1927 to Charles S. and Nova H. Smith. His father was the Frisco Railway agent in Sulphur for many years. He attended school in Sulphur to the 10th grade, and was a notable drummer in the band at an early age. He finished High School in Holdenville. He joined the merchant marines as a sailor and later, the U.S. Army 24th Division Band in Japan after WWII. He graduated from The University of Oklahoma majoring in music, and received a Masters Degree. Ben married Gertrude Griffith, in 1949, and they had four children. He worked as a musician, playing in bands, and writing music. Later he was an insurance agent, and also worked for the State of Oklahoma welfare department from which he retired. He is survived by his wife, Judith Moffett Smith, of their home, and his four children, Philip L. Smith of Dennison, Tx. Karl S. Smith of Oklahoma City, Victor N. Smith of Detroit, MI, and Jo Anna Smith of Stillwater, and 10 grandchildren, also by two brothers Dr. Philip B. Smith and Charles H."Ted" Smith and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Smith, and their families. His remains were willed to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dallas, Texas, and no formal ceremonies are planned. A private family ceremony honoring his life was held.

David Alan Bivens
Graveside services for David Alan Bivens, 47 were held Thursday, Jan. 30 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Emery Mason officiating. Interment was at the Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home. He was born Wednesday, Jan. 4, 1956 in Ada to Billy Ray Bivens and Geneva Smith Bivens. He died Wednesday, Jan. 29 in Ada. He had lived in this area all of his life. He graduated from Sulphur High School in 1974 and worked in construction as a carpenter. He is survived by his mother, Geneva Bivens, Sulphur; a daughter, Feleena Bivens, Norman; two sons, Wesley Bivens and his wife, Tammy, Sulphur and Phillip Bivens, Rochester, Minn.; a granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Bivens, Sulphur; a special friend, Glenda Kahlor, Sulphur. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Bivens in 2002 and a brother, Don Ray Bivens in 1976.

Naomi Iona Dunn
Services for Naomi Iona Dunn, 87, Ada, were held Thursday, Jan. 30 at 10:00 a.m. at Smith-Phillips Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Elkins officiating. Internment was at Memorial Park Cemetery, Ada under the direction of Smith-Phillips Funeral Home. She was born on March 9, 1915 in Elmore City to George Malicoat and Rosa Bell Pyle Malicoat. She died Monday, Jan. 27 in Ada. On October 19, 1928 she married Melton Dunn. He preceded her in death on September 17, 1960. She attended school at Elmore City. She worked for Dr. Haugen as a Housekeeper for 25 years. She was a member of the Easter Star since 1955. She is survived by her daughter, Helen Summers, Roff; a son, Donald M. Dunn, Ardmore; eight grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 26 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; a sister and a grandson. Pallbearers were Jim Summers, Rick Summers, Ray Tharp, Monroe Dunn, James Dilbeck and Johnny Hayes.

Minerva Inez Hill
Graveside services for Minerva Inez Hill,87, were held Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bob Moody officiating. Interment was at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home. She was born December 19, 1915 in Wilburton to A.P. Mitchell and Gertrude Lawson. She died Saturday, Feb. 1 in Sulphur. She attended high school in Cromwell and attended East Central University for one year. She moved to Sulphur in 1949 where she lived and worked the reminder of her life. She attended Sulphur United Methodist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Iwana Crowe, Sulphur; four grandchildren, Danna Bernardi, Sonny Lance Jr., Sondra Moses, Kevin Lance; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, George Mitchell, Baton Rouge, La.; one sister-in-law, June Mitchell, Ada; and an aunt, Snook Dunnigan, Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nicky Lance; brother, Spike Mitchell; and a sister, Fava Bolan; and her parents.

Gene Dan Calame
Gene Dan Calame left us February 1, 2003, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Born to Guy and Lillian Calame, on April 4, 1933, Gene grew up in Sulphur, Oklahoma, a hometown he loved and which loved him. Active in a number of sports at an early age, Gene was an outstanding football player for the Sulphur Bulldogs and was named All-State Quarterback in 1950. Upon graduation from Sulphur High School in 1951, Gene was recruited to the University of Oklahoma by "Bud" Wilkinson to play football and was a member of the Sooner squad from 1951-1954. During his tenure at OU, Gene was the Sooner's Quarterback and was a member of the Sooner team that started the 47 straight game winning streak, the longest running successful record in NCAA history. He graduated from the University in 1954 and became a Graduate Assistant football coach for the OU Sooners where he worked his way through law school. Sooner football, and in reality, any Sooner sport, remained one of his fervent passions all his life. It was during law school and his coaching days at OU that he met and married Virginia Davis, the love of his life and best friend. Upon graduation from the OU law school in 1960, Gene worked briefly for the Oklahoma Insurance Department and in 1962 joined the employ of Globe Life and Accident Insurance Company in Oklahoma City, as an attorney. For thirty-seven years, Gene loved his work in the corporate world of Globe Life and Accident where he rose to the position of Executive Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel. The quintessential corporate insurance lawyer, Gene served Globe Life until his formal retirement in April of 1999, but continued to assist them occasionally in a legal capacity between his active retirement of tennis, golf and his favorite pastime of teaching his grandsons his tennis and golf swing. Gene is survived by his wife, Virginia, his son, James Calame and daughter-in-law Colette of Oklahoma City, his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Bart Boatright, two grandsons, Davis and Bryant Boatright, all of Springfield, Missouri, his mother, Lillian Calame of Norman, Oklahoma, two brothers, Alvin Calame of Oklahoma City, Glen Dale Calame of Allen, Texas, three sisters, Johnelle Longoria, of Brownsville, Texas, Lorraine Calame of Vancouver, British Columbia and Guyanne Brannon of Choctaw, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Calame and two sisters, Fontaine Calame and Yolanda Calame Hartzog. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, countless friends, teammates, and colleagues who feel blessed to have shared Gene's laughter, his love of life and the joy he brought to everyone he met. Visitation was from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2003, at Smith & Kernke, 14624 N. May Ave. A Celebration of Gene's life took place at the Quail Springs United Methodist Church, 14617 N. Pennsylvania, in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, February 5, 2003, at 1:00 PM. Vera Elsie Walker Akers
Services for Vera Elsie Walker Akers, 89, were held Monday, Feb. 3 at 12:00 p.m. at the Clagg Funeral Chapel with Rev. Eddie Malphrus officiating. Interment was at the Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home. She was born on Wednesday, March 5, 1913 in Teller, Okla. to John Otis Townsend and Carrean Eva Benge Townsend. She died Friday, Jan. 31 in Dallas, Texas. She grew up in Mill Creek, where she attended school. She was a seamstress and sold Life Insurance and attended the First Baptist Church in Mill Creek. She was active in the community before moving to Dallas in 1968. She was married to Roy Walker who preceded her in death. She later married Timothy Akers who also preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sonja and Jerry Fenske, Dallas, Texas, a daughter-in-law, Karla Walker, Dallas; a brother, Garland Townsend; three sisters, Lucille Lagomarsino, Minia Bates, and Jean Arrlvett; four grandchildren, Rusty Fenske, Katrena Blackerby, Darlene Willford, Bob Walker; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Stephen and Jerry Fenske, Amber Willson, Brittany Blackerby, Carl and Jamie Williford; and one great-great grandchild, Kara Fenske. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Bobby Lee Walker, a granddaughter, Carmela Kay Walker, a sister, Juanita Brodehl, and three brothers, Richard, James E. and Roy O. Townsend.

Richard Phillip Murphy
Services for Richard Phillip Murphy, 58 were held Thursday, Jan. 30 at 2:00 p.m. at the Faith Center Church, Sulphur with Pastor Jerry Lemely officiating. A memorial service was held Friday, Jan. 31 at 1:00 p.m. at the Saint Catholic Church in Saint Paul, Kan. Interment was Green Hill Cemetery, Davis under the direction of Krien Funeral Home. He was born January 17, 1945 in Wichita, Kan. to Clyde and Mary Elizabeth Merrill Murphy. He died January 27 in Moore. On June 2, 1989 he married Virginia "Kathy" Woodruff Murphy in Eureka Springs, Ark. He was raised around Saint Paul, Kansas area and lived there until 1994 when he moved to Davis. He was self employed as a railroad demolitionist in Davis. He was a Christian and atteneded the Faith Center Church. He is survived by his wife, Kathy, of the home; four sons, Phillip Anthony Murphy, of the home, Christopher Lynn Murphy, Ada, Christopher Alan Murphy, Liberty, N.C. and Richard Phillip Murphy, Jr., Stark, Kan; four daughters, Sarah Mae Murphy, of the home, Cynthia Jeanne Marnell, Mayfield, Ky., Cheryl Lynn Smith, Saint Paul, Kan., and Tammy Lynn Marnell, Mesquite, Texas; one brother, Mike Murphy, Old Bridge, N.J.; three sisters, Patty Ast, Wichita, Kan., Marilyn Wooster, Topeka, Kan., and Susan Wetta, Wichita, Kan.; and 12 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Charlie Wooster, Clem Ast, Paul Wetta, Ed Copeland, George Woodruff, Randy Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Wools and Steve Clubertson. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Landmark Bank and the First National Bank of Davis for an Education Fund for the children of the home.

Caroline A. Dyer
Services for Caroline A. Dyer, 59, were held Saturday, Feb. 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. James Swain and Rev. Brent Parsons officiating. Interment was at Graham Cemetery, Graham under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home. She was born on Thursday, Oct. 21, 1943 in Nashville, Tenn. to John Madison and Mary Elizabeth Atchley Madison. She died Wednesday, Jan. 29 in Sulphur. On January 10, 1964 she married Olen Dyer in Tussy, Okla. She grew up in Fox and graduated from Fox High School in 1963. She attended Cameron University in Lawton and East Central University in Ada. She was teacher's assistant at OSD for 30 years. She is survived by her husband, Olen Dryer, Sulphur; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shonda and Corry Flowers, Oklahoma City, Shelly and Rex Stephens, Sulphur; a sister, Patricia Collins, Davis; six grandchildren, Macey, Carson, Derrick, Sean, Ashton and Jordan. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Gearldine Palmer and Linda Harris. Pallbearers were Johnny Shores, Fred Flowers, Terry Flowers, Corry Flowers, Rayford Stephens, Rex Stephens.

Janie Iona Hunt
Graveside services for Janie Iona Hunt, 82, were held January 28 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. J.D. Glover officiating. Interment was at the Harrah Cemetery under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home. She was born on March 6, 1920 in Mill Creek to Jess Miller and Elizabeth Burk. She died January 26 in Sulphur. On April 15, 1939 she married Jeff Hunt in Tishomingo. He preceded her in death on October 5, 1963. She lived in Harrah before moving to Sulphur in 2000. She was a homemaker. She is survived by one daughter, Zula Jean McGee, Harrah; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one sister, Katie Burns and her husband John, Sulphur. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, W.A. Hunt; one daughter, Edith Evelyn Tanner, two brothers, Jake and Johnnie Miller; and three sisters, Edith Howard, Christell DeShazo and Ruby Babb.

Louise I. DeShazer
Graveside services for Louise I. DeShazer, 68, Lafayetta, La. will be held Thursday, February 6 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Gary Fielding officiating. Interment will be at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis under the direction of Fox Funeral Home. She was born on April 24, 1934 in Davis to Ezra and Eva (Bowersox) Edwards. She died Saturday, Feb. 1 in Lafayette, La. She was married to William "Bill" DeShazer. He preceded her in death. She was a native of Davis and a resident of Lafayette, La. for 30 years. She was a retired registered nurse for home health and hospitals for 40 years. She is survived by her three sons, Brian David DeShazer, Anderson, Ind., William Andrew DeShazer, Denham Springs, La., and Mark Dale DeShazer, Lafayette, La.; three grandchildren, William Anthony DeShazer and Heather Sidney-Marie DeShazer, both of Denham Spring, La. and Nathaniel DeShazer, Anderson, Ind.; two sisters, Florence Montgomery and Evelyn Willis; and one brother, Paul Edwards. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Charlotte Stone
Charlotte Stone, 69, of Davis died June 26, 2003, at Burford Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services were June 30 at Krien Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Thomas Thompson officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur. She was born Nov. 12, 1933, in Wewoka to Orvill T. and Ruby (Collum) Stone. She had lived in this area for the past 33 years. She loved gospel music and always attended church services at her Burford Manor residence. Survivors include: three brothers, Tommy of Oklahoma City and Dalton and Don, both of Whitesboro, Texas, and a sister, Betty McColl of Denton, Texas. Pallbearers were Don Stone, Dalton Stone, Donnie Hasten, Jim Glover, Gary Harris and James Densman. Honorary pallbearers were employees of Burford Manor. Services were under the direction of Krien Funeral Home.

Jewell McDonald
Graveside services for Jewell McDonald, 85, of Sulphur were held July 2 at Sunnylane Cemetery in Del City, with the Rev. Steve Mayhan officiating. She died June 30, 2003, in Callaway Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 23, 1917, in Gans to Robert and Dora (Bethel) Burchett. She grew up in Oklahoma City. In 1939, she married James McDonald in Drumright, he preceded her in death in 1981. She lived in Midwest City and worked at Tinker Field until her retirement. Mrs. McDonald moved to Sulphur in 2000. She loved to travel, garden, cook and do needlework. She was a member of the Wickline United Methodist Church in Midwest City and a bridge club. Mrs. McDonald was also preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include: two brothers, Bob Burchett of Havasu City, Ariz., and Andy Burchett of Topak, Ariz., and two sisters, Lois Jones of Edmond and Ruby Colbert of Sulphur; and numerous nieces and nephews. Cowley-Krien Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Geneva H. Seabourn
Services for Geneva H. Seabourn, 82, were held July 2, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Cowley-Krien Chapel with Rev. Eddie Malphrus officiating. Interment was at Dolberg Cemetery under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home. Mrs. Seabourn was born on May 29, 1921 in Wetumka to Gus Doshier and Arkie Rickett Doshier. She died on June 28, 2003 at her residence. On March 18, 1939 she married J.W. Seabourn at Atoka. She was born and raised in Wetumka then later moved to Dustin. She worked as a nutritionist for OSU. She had lived in the Sulphur area for the past 14 years. She loved caring for her family, friends and hummingbirds. She is survived by her husband, J.W., of the home; two sons, James Seabourn and wife, Vicki and Johnny Holmes; three daughters, Georgia Talley and husband, Michael, Billie Phelps and husband, Doyle, and Carliss Seabourn; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and one sister, Beatrice Bodie. Pallbearers were Terry Dodson, Johnny Holmes, James Seabourn, Kendrick Phelps, G.W. Cross Jr. and J.W. Dodson.

Sadie Grace Malone
Graveside services for Sadie Grace Malone, 3, were held Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery with Rev. Thomas Malone officiating. Interment was under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home. Sadie was born Monday, June 26, 2000 in Ada, to Nicholas Malone and Bobbi Ross. She died Friday, June 27, 2003 in Oklahoma City. She had lived all of her life in this area. She is survived by her parents, Bobbi Ross, Sulphur and Nick Malone, Asher; two brothers, Colton Ross and Jessie Ross, both of Sulphur; one sister, Shayanne Ross, Sulphur; grandparents, Ronald and Carrie Malone, Asher; grandfather, Bobby Ross, Sulphur; great grandparents, Charles and Shirley Lamirand, Asher; great grandmother,Lorene Malone, Asher; great-great grandmother, Jessie Blythe, Antlers; three aunts, Samantha Malone, Nannette Keeler and Tanya Boyd and three uncles, Russell Malone, Kenneth Keeler and Alex Ross. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Sue Ross.

Pasty J. Garland
Services for Pasty J. Garland, 67, were held July 1, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Chapman and Rev. Willard McCartney, Jr. officiating. Interment was at Dougherty Cemetery under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home. Mrs. Garland was born January 23, 1936 in Dougherty to Charles (Chub) Saunders and Ettner Mae Duncan. She died on June 28, 2003 at the Oklahoma Heart Center in Oklahoma City. On February 4, 1966 she married Bob Garland in Shawnee. She was born in Dougherty then moved to Sulphur in 1966 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a member of Midway Hill Baptist Church. She worked as a nurse's aid at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital and the Oklahoma Veterans Center. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, fishing, bird watching, crocheting and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Bob Garland; three sons, Willard McCartney, Jr. and his wife, Liz, Dougherty, Billy Garland and his wife, Ladrina, Sulphur and Rodney Burdick, Sulphur; one daughter, Trisha Kirby and her husband, Randall, Sulphur; 11 grand children; three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; six sisters, Mildred Allen, Sulphur, Mary Evelyn White, Kingman, Arz., Jeanie Clelland, Davis, Lona Kay Edwards, Dougherty, Betty Wilson, Norman, Linda Trett, Wynnewood; five brothers Otis (Bo) Saunders, Davis, Charles (Creed) Saunders, Sulphur, Harvey Lee Saunders, Sulphur, Andrew Ray (John) Saunders, Dougherty and Orval (Boog) Saunders, Sulphur. She was preceded in death by her parents, foster parent, Dewey and Temp Clements and one sister, Irene Amanda West. Pallbearers were Chad King, Shane King, Kyle King, Stephen McCartney, Rob Wilson and Tim Allen. Honorary pallbearers were men of Central Baptist Church.

Radean Sue Payne
Services for Radean Sue Payne, 59, were held Friday, June 27, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Mill Creek with Rev. Butch Fires and Rev. Billy Harmon officiating. Interment was at Mill Creek Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home. Mrs. Payne was born Monday, Jan. 10, 1944 in Sulphur to Paul Garrison and Syble Brooks Garrison. She died Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at Ardmore. On May 22, 1961 she married Don Payne at Mill Creek. She had lived in the Mill Creek and Sulphur areas all of her life. She attended school in Mill Creek and graduated from Sulphur High School. She had worked as a hairdresser. She was affiliated with the Shield of Faith Church. She is survived by her husband, Don, Sulphur; her mother, Syble Garrison, Sulphur; a sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Corky Day, Ardmore; two nieces, Darschell and her husband, Travis Barker, Kingston and Shayna Day, Ardmore; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Derrell and Mitzi Payne, Jerry and Kay Payne and Tom and Donna Payne, all of Sulphur; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sue and Keith McDonald, Mill Creek; Sister-in-law, Pat Murdock, Crestview, Fla.; nieces and nephews, Steve and Choppo Payne, Brian McDonald, Trish Thornhill, Sheila McClure, Kim Roberts, Kristi Harmon, Jill Blevins, Dutch and Charlie Murdock. She was preceded in death by: Her son Lyndon MacRae Payne in 1988 and her father Paul Garrison. Pallbearers were Jim McClure, Roger Eldred, Mike Thornhill, Brian McDonald, Choppo Payne and Steve Payne.
