ARTIE HODGE

STONEWALL — Services for Artie Hodge, 80, Stonewall, are 10 a.m. Saturday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Revs. Elbert Olive and Dale Howry officiating. Burial follows at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Hodge died April 1, 2004, at her home. She was born Jan. 27, 1924, at Franks to George P. and Ella Ardrey Robertson.

She attended school at Ada, graduating from Ada High School in 1942. She then moved to Oklahoma City and worked at Tinker Field from 1942 to 1945, where she met and married Royal D. Hodge October 7, 1944, at Oklahoma City. He died in 1974 at Blackwell.

Mrs. Hodge was a bookkeeper/office manager for Ada Well Service, an assistant director at McCalls Chapel School, a bookkeeper for Jan Francis Care Center, and finally retired from the Pontotoc County Sheriff's Office as dispatcher and office deputy.

She was a member of Hickory Hill Baptist Church, where she taught the Adult Ladies Class for a number of years.

Mrs. Hodge was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Perry; two sisters; and a brother.

Survivors include a daughter, Colleen Cockrill and husband Glen, Stonewall; a son, David Hodge, Ada; six grandchildren ;and eight great-grandchildren.

Bearers are Don Kaiser, Buster Greenwood Jr., Garry Harrison, Galen Jantzen, Charles Byrd and Buck "Buckshot" Clark.

ADA — Services for Vera Towler, 77, Ada, are pending with Smith-Phillips Funeral Home.

She died April 2, 2004, at an Oklahoma City hospital.

She died April 1, 2004, at a local nursing facility.

ETTA GREEN

ADA — Graveside services for Etta Mae Green, 81, Ada, are 10 a.m. Friday at Rosedale Cemetery, the Rev. Earl Hood officiating.

Mrs. Green died March 31, 2004, at a Stratford nursing facility. She was born Dec. 10, 1922, at Weldy, near Henryetta, to Lonzo and Etta Upton Hale. She moved to the Ada area in 1935 from St. Louis, Mo., where she had attended school.

She and Luther T. Green were married March 25, 1940, at Ada. He died July 14, 1997, at Ada.

Mrs. Green was a homemaker and a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Luther Wayne Green and wife Donna, Ada, and Edgar Thomas Green and wife Bernice, Oklahoma City; a daughter, Vickie Johnson and husband, Johnny, Inola; a brother, Chester Hale, Oklahoma City; two granddaughters, Amy Frizzell and Sharla Johnson; three grandsons, Larry Green, Michael Green and Stephen Johnson; and four great-grandchildren, Zak Frizzell, Tyler Frizzell, Tanna Frizzell and Shelby Green.

RAY WILLIAMS

WARDVILLE — Services for Ray Bernard Williams, 84, Wardville, are 10 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, family and friends, Clark Rhyne, Chris and Brian Foris and R.E. Hooe officiating. Burial follows at Wardville Cemetery.

Mr. Williams died March 31, 2004, at his Wardville home. He was born Feb. 3, 1920, at Cario in Coal County to Preston A. and Margaret Eliza McEntire Williams. He attended Cario Schools.

He and Ruby Mae Hooe were married Aug. 12, 1947, at Sherman, Texas.

Mr. Williams was a lifelong rancher and a member of Wardville Baptist Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason of Kiowa #117 and a Shriner. He served in the armed forces and was a prisoner of war during World War II in Germany. He was also a recipient of the purple heart.

Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his parents, Preston A. and Margaret Eliza McEntire Williams; two brothers, Wilburn Williams and Don Williams; and a sister, Gloria Manley.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Williams, of the home; two daughters, Molly Parker and husband Tony, and Sally Kinsey and husband Terry, all of Wardville; two sisters, Miriam Witherspoon, Coalgate, and Doris Barlow, Colorado Springs, Colo.; three grandchildren, Christopher Foris and wife Mickie, Tannehill, Brian Foris and wife Beth, McAlester, and Rachael Kinsey, Atlanta, Ga.; four great-grandchildren, Erin Foris, Mason Foris, William Foris and Dillon Foris; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Bearers are Paul Hooe, Vestal Cook, J.D. Godwin, Pete Cosgrove, Larry James and R.E. Hooe.

Honorary bearers are George Newberry, Buster Marcum, Dell Mayer, Woodrow Childers, Buddy Haraway, Frank Ely, Harlow Cunningham, J.V. Newberry, Louis John Sandman, Joe Pasquali and Bill Overstreet.

PAULINE MADDOX

ADA — Services for Pauline Logue Maddox, 75, Ada, are 2 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Tom Hall officiating. Burial follows at Jesse Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Maddox died March 29, 2004, at her home. She was born June 21, 1928, at Lamesa, Texas, to Hollie Spencer and Mary Elizabeth Hudson Lunsford. She lived in this area until she was 13, then moved to California. She attended Eureka grade school.

She returned to the Ada area in 1977 and was a grocery store clerk for 25 years. She was a member of the Retail Clerk's Union #1179 and the Church of Christ.

She and Leon "Dub" Maddox were married in 1983 at Las Vegas, Nev. He died Oct. 11, 1999.

Mrs. Maddox was preceded in death by her first husband, Hosie Elvan Logue.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Logue, Ada; a son, Eldon Duane Logue, Norman; three stepsons, Dalton Maddox, Allen Maddox and Mike Maddox, all of California; two sisters, Margaret May, Tupelo, and Helen Chambers, Ada; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Bearers are Kevin Mann, Jeff Anderson, Chris Delk, Rusty Pickens, Everett Pickens and Robert Pickens Jr.

Honorary bearers are Donny Mann, Richard Grimes, Billy May and Ricky May.

RONNIE BRINLEE

ADA — Services for Ronald Earl "Ronnie" Brinlee, 59, Ada, are 10 a.m. Thursday at Morris Memorial Baptist Church, the Revs. Gary Jamar and Michael Calhoun officiating. Burial follows at Swan Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Brinlee died March 30, 2004, at a local hospital. He was born Jan. 14, 1945, at Pryor to Herbert Clayton and Meta June Brookshire Brinlee.

He attended school at Lawrence and Pryor, and graduated from Latta High School in 1963. He attended East Central University and received a bachelor of science degree in 1978.

He and Judith Faye Isom were married April 21, 1967, at Ada.

Mr. Brinlee was a quarry operator with Holcim Cement Plant for the last 32 years, was an active member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church and had served on the Latta School Board for the past 16 years.

He served in the Army Reserves with the 701st Personal Service Company at Ada for 30 years, retiring as a CW3 Officer. He did a tour of duty in Egypt and Desert Storm.

Mr Brinlee was preceded in death by his mother, Meta June Brinlee; and a grandson, Hagen Carlyle Brinlee.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Brinlee, of the home; three sons, Shane Brinlee and wife Tina, Allen, Bart Brinlee, Ada and Clay Brinlee, Roff; his father, Herbert C. Brinlee, Ada; his mother-in-law, Billie I. Herring, of the home; seven grandchildren, Bryce, Olivia, Cain, Sydney, Chloe, Kody and Katon; four aunts, Elsie Burnshire, Pryor, Alta King, Edmond, Barbara Harrison, Ada, and Earlene Leighton, Del City.

Bearers are Bob Jeter, Jim Jackson, Darrell Harrison, Dwight King, Wes Culwell, Don Galagar and Bobby Hatter.

Honorary bearers are Haskell Harrison, Rod Dillard, Marvin Byers, Charles Bigham, Floyd Wilkins, Bill Osborn, Stan Cochran, Chris Flowers, Lee Swanson, James Abbott and Elzie Priest.
