Charley Blevins

Graveside funeral services for Seminole resident Charley Blevins are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, Texas. John Keeling is set to officiate. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home. Blevins died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002 at Seminole Medical Center at the age of 91. He moved to Seminole from Pawathan, Ark. 12 years ago. He was born Aug. 4, 1911 in Lavaca, Ark. to John and Ada (Hill) Blevins. Blevins married Lillian (Moore) Blevins on Jan. 30, 1941. He was coal miner and a farmer. He was a member of the American Legion. Blevins was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one sister and two brothers. He is survived by two daugh- ters, Opal York of Seminole and Mattie Brown of Lake Dallas, Texas; three sons, Jimmie Blevins of Isleta, N.M., Alfred Blevins of Waco, Texas, and C.J. Blevins of Concord, N.C.; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Ted Reed

Funeral services for Seminole resident Ted Reed are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Cecil Spoonemore is set to officiate. Burial is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home. Reed died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 202 at his home at the age of 62. He was a lifelong Seminole resident. He was born Nov. 10, 1940 in Seminole to Ozie William and Virginia Clarice (Holt) Reed. Reed was a retired cashier from First National Bank in Seminole in the late 1970s. He attended Seminole Junior College. He was preceded in death by his mother. Reed is survived by his father of Seminole; one daughter, Susie Mann of Ada; one grandchild; one brother, Danny Reed of Luther; and two sisters, Ann Eversole of Maud and Cindy Goodnight of Wewoka.

Leroy McCanless

Funeral services for Seminole resident Leroy McCanless are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Church of Christ in Little. Rusty Dawson is set to officiate. Burial is to follow in Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home. McCanless died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002 at his home at the age of 90. He was born Aug. 27, 1912 in Durant to J.O. and Florence (Knight) McCanless. He married Hazel (Sims) on Sept. 5, 1934 in Seminole. McCanless retired from W.C. McBride Oil Company after 37 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, James Owen, Valie, and Raymond; and his sisters, Jessie Dyche and Ruth Keown. McCanless is survived by his wife of the home; one son, James McCanless of Seminole; one daughter, Dana Forth of Centralia, Ill.; one sister, Eula Mae Thorp of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Edward Rumpf

Funeral services for Konawa resident Edward Rumpf are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Father Matthew Brown, O.S.B., is set to officiate. Burial is to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direc tion of Pickard-Swearingen Fu neral Home. Rumpf died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002 at Valley View Regional Hospital at the age of 54. He was born July 25, 1948 in Pawnee to Edward Ralph Sr. and Zoe Hazel (Rhodd) Williamson. He was a retired machinist. Rumpf served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Sacred Hearth Catholic Church and the V.F.W. of Shawnee. He was preceded in death by his parents. Rumpf is survived by his step- father, Lloyd Williamson; the mother of his children, Vicky Debtor; two daughters, Lindsey Rumpf of Konawa and Kaitlen Rumpf of Tulsa; two sisters, Patricia (Rumpf) Carson of Konawa and Angelique (Williamson) Williams of Oklahoma City. A rosary is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday night at the home of Patricia Carson. Pallbearers are Al Curley Jr., F.E. Rhodd, Dr. Anthony Waldroup, Allison Nave, and Donnie Jordon. Honorary bearers will be Patrick Waldroup and Charles Carson Jr.

Fred Williams

DEL CITY – Funeral services for former Seminole County teacher Fred Williams are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel in Del City. Burial is to follow at Little Cemetery at 2 p.m. under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home. Williams died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002 at the age of 91. He was born in Wayne on Oct. 23, 1911 to D.R. and Mary Ellen (Hopkins) Williams. After graduating from Chickasha High School, he graduated from East Central State College. Williams complete graduate studies and pursued doctoral studies at Oklahoma State University. He embarked on a lifelong career in education as a teacher and school administrator in Seminole County and in the Mid-Del school system. In addition to his career in education, he had his own construction management business which he operated until shortly before his death. Williams is survived by his wife, Rita Nadine Williams; two daughters, Joy Malloy and Rosemary Morgan; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Nancy Palmer

Funeral services for Seminole resident Nancy Judy Palmer are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Wewoka. Revs. Dave Bowlegs and Andy Alexander will officiate. Interment will follow at the White Family Cemetery, known as “Grannie’s Cemetery, East of Seminole, under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home. Wake services will be held tonight at 6:30 p.m., also at the Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel. Palmer died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at her niece’s residence in Shawnee at the age of 68. She was born to Jim Palmer and Cora White on March 2, 1934 in Seminole. Palmer grew up in Seminole County and graduated from New Lima school. She was a self-employed caregiver and cared for her family and others throughout her life, until her illness. Palmer was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister, Nelsey Palmer Leetka, Seminole; and her brother, Tony Palmer, Sasakwa. Pallbearers will be Robert J. Leetka, Anthony J. Orr, William J. Leetka, Ronnie Lewis, Robert L. Leetka, Jr., Steve Orr, Dwight Little Creek, and Edward L. Smith. Honorary bearers will be Robert L. Leetka, Sr., Christopher L. Leetka, Thomas J. Mack, Sr., Kevin L. Mack, Felix W. Mack, Leon Bell, Kelly Bell, Darrin Mack, and Donnell Berry.

Charles Lee

Funeral services for former longtime employee of Scott’s IGA Store in Wewoka, Charles E. Lee, were held on Saturday. The services took place at the Free Will Baptist Church in Holdenville with Revs. Russell Payne and Charlie Murphy officiating. Burial followed at the Holdenville Cemetery, under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home. Lee died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2003 in Oklahoma City at the age of 67. He was born to Roy Roosevelt Lee and Elizabeth (Pinion) Lee on Sept. 2, 1935 in Holdenville. Lee was brought up in the Holdenville area and attended Holdenville and Moss schools. He married Shirley Christelee Taylor in Holdenville on Dec. 11, 1953. Lee was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1957, and returned to Holdenville at the end of his military service in 1960. Lee and his wife left Holdenville in 1965, and lived for a short time in Wewoka and in Ft. Worth, Texas, but returned to Holdenville in 1970. Holdenville has been their home since that time, and they had just begun their 50th year of marriage. Lee was well known in the area, working for several local service stations as a mechanic and station attendant, and was employed for 13 years at Holdenville’s Western Auto store. He was most familiar to Seminole County residents from his 10 years of employment with Scott’s IGA store in Wewoka. Lee was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church of Holdenville. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee; and two brothers, James Lee and Harold Lee. Lee is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home; his mother, Mary Elizabeth Lee, Holdenville; one son, Chuck Lee, Holdenville; one brother, Kenneth Lee, Holdenville; and one grand- daughter. Pallbearers were Jerry Beeler, Clifford Foster, Steven Lee, Tommy Lee, Todd Lee, Mike Lee, and Ronnie Lee. Honorary pallbearers were James Morrison, Winford Smith, Gary price, Clester Wingo, Curtis Brinlee, Glen Paslay, Gerald Shed, and Steven Foster.

Ronna Terrell Bailey

Ronna Terrell Bailey of Longmont, Colo., died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003 at Hospice of Boulder County at the age of 44. She was born on June 18, 1958 to Dennis Ronald “Ron” and Mary Louise (King) Terrell in Holdenville. Ronna’s parents lived in Sasakwa from 1958-1960. Ronna’s father Ron served as Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Sasakwa. Ronna attended school in Ft. Collins, Colo., before she moved to Richardson, Texas. She received two bachelor’s degrees from Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee. In 1970, Ronna’s mother married Roger Bailey. Two years later, he adopted Ronna and her sister Angie. Ronna taught high school French, German, and Spanish in Meeker for five years before moving to Boulder in 1986. She was a secretary and technical typesetter at the National Center for Atmospheric Research before becoming a mail carrier in Boulder. Ronna was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Boulder and was active in the choir and the “Bridges” group. She was also a member of the University of Colorado Alumni Handbell Choir. Ronna enjoyed counted cross-stitch, music, genealogy, travel, and visiting the highest point in as many states as possible. She had a deep faith in Jesus Christ. Ronna was first diagnosed with cancer in 2001, but her cancer went into remission. In Sept. 2002, her cancer returned, and she was given a short time to live. Ronna attended a memorial/celebration-of-life service for herself on Nov. 1, 2002 at the First Presbyterian Church in Boulder. She was preceded in death by three grandparents, Rev. William and Agnes King, Tonkawa, and Grady Terrell, Wewoka. Ronna is survived by her parents, Mary and Roger Bailey, Longmont, Colo., and Ron and Bobbie Terrell, Warsaw, Mo.; three sisters, Angelique Malezieux and her husband Gilles, Paris, France, Nancy Ruth Bailey, Ft. Worth, Texas, and Holly Bailey, Greeley, Colo.; her grandmother, Beatrice Terrell Harjo, Wewoka; two uncles, Raymond Terrell, Kansas City, and Kenneth Terrell, Seminole; and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Cremation was held at Howe Mortuary in Longmont, Colo. Inurnment was held at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Tonkawa. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society of Boulder County, 2130 Mountain View Ave., Suite A, Longmont, Colo., 80501.

Pedro Luna

Funeral services for Wewoka High School alumni Pedro B. Luna, are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Guardian West Funeral Chapel in Oklahoma City. Burial will follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City. Luna died on Feb. 12, 2003 in Oklahoma City. He was born on Jan. 1, 1912 in Merida, Philippines. Luna went to Wewoka High School, then OCU, graduating with a BA and MA. He taught at OU from 1939 to 1941. Luna served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II. He retired from the U.S. Post Office in 1983 after 37 years. Luna was a longtime member of the Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by his wife, Maria, of the home; two daughters, Ingrid and Ruthie; one son, Peter; and six grandchildren.

Ima Linduff

Funeral services for Ima B. Linduff, grandmother of Seminole resident Debbie Lyon, are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Cooper Funeral Home Chapel in Tecumseh. Dr. Tim Walker of the First Baptist Church of Tecumseh, and Terry Jackson, Chaplain of Angelic Hospice, will officiate. Burial will follow at the Tecumseh Cemetery, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home. Linduff died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003 in Tecumseh at the age of 95. She was born to Frank and Sallie (Shinpoch) Allen on April 25, 1907 in Tecumseh. Linduff was a lifelong resident of the Tecumseh area, living in the house in which she was born until 1979. She attended grade school at Highland, and high school at Tecumseh. She married Lincoln Linduff on Feb. 5, 1927 in Tecumseh. Linduff was a homemaker, and was active with the Tecumseh senior citizens for many years and attended First Baptist Church of Tecumseh. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lincoln, on Dec. 5, 1979; two brothers, Ira Allen and Albert L. Allen; and one sister, Ila Linduff. Linduff is survived by one daughter, Nova Lester, Tecumseh; one granddaughter, Debbie Lyon, Seminole; one grandson, Terry Lester, Ft. Worth, Texas; one sister, Susie Bentley, Ponca City; two great-granddaughters and one step-granddaughter.

Leta E. Patterson

Funeral services for life long Seminole County resident Leta E. Patterson are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church. Dr. Kelvin Moseley is set to officiate. Internment is to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home. Patterson died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003 at McLoud Nursing Center. She was born Oct. 2, 1909 in Maud to Oscar Wood and Della Wood. She graduated from Maud High School in 1927 where she was the class valedictorian. In 1928 she married Ruben Odis “Pat” Patterson in Oklahoma City. In addition to being a homemaker, she owned, man- aged and cooked at several restaurants, including Pat’s Café. She also worked with her husband in his business, Pat’s Used Cars, as bookkeeper. They both retired in 1969. Patterson was a longtime member at the First Baptist Church in Seminole where she had been president and Outreach Leader for the Lydia Sunday School Class for many years. She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Bob and Ann Patterson of Shawnee and William “Bill” Ray Patterson of Tulsa; nine grandchildren, Pam Nicholson of Allen, Texas; Rick Patterson of Ft. Worth, Texas; Lisa Kutait of Little Rock, Ark.; LuAnn Nystrom of Lawrence, Kan.; Lauri Culver of Edmond; Karen Brunet, Debbie Wagner, Jeff Brunet, all of Anaheim, Calif. and Tonya Patterson of Tulsa; 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including D.D. and Molly Patterson of Seminole. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband “Pat” Patterson on June 21,1975; three sisters; one brother, and daughter, Donna Brunet.

Francetta Warrior Stubblefield

Funeral services for Francetta Warrior Stubblefield are scheduled for 1 p.m., Wednesday at Thomas Town Baptist Church in Sasawka. Rev. Famous Cochran is set to officiate. Internment will follow at Thomas Town Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home. Stubblefield died Wednesday, Feb. 5 at her home in Sasakwa following a lengthy illness. She was born Aug. 27, 1953 in Seminole to Herman Warrior and Bertha Thurman Warrior. She was reared in Seminole County and received her education at New Model Elementary and graduated from Sasakawa High School. Following graduation, she attended Oklahoma State Tech and graduated in 1975. She married Melvin Stubblefield Sr. in Omaha, Neb. and he preceded her in death Aug. 20, 2002. Stubblefield worked for AT&T and later as a teacher’s aide in Nebraska until her illness. She then returned to Oklahoma with her family. She was a lifelong member of Thomas Town Baptist Church where she was baptized at an early age. She is survived by son, Kay- lum Stubblefield of the home; stepson, Melvin Stubblefield, Jr., Omaha, Neb.; two grandchildren; sister, Jan Warrior of Sasakawa; brothers Kenneth Warrior, Russell Warrior and Kerry Warrior. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Pallbearers will be L.B. Garfield, Johnny Glasm, Wellington Dindy Jr., Rudolph Garfield, Tommy Olden, and Mainard Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Wallace Thurman, J.B. Thurman, James Thurman, and Calvin Harjo. Flower girls will be Linda James, Dezeree Bradshaw, Lula Samilton, Jerena Guess, Marilyn Gueint. Honorary flower girls will be Francis Woodfork, Mary Lee Taylor and Maxcine Thurman.
