Jimmy Glenn Farley

On April 10, 2003, 18 year-old Jimmy Farley passed from this life into the arms of his grandmother, Beverly Cook.
A memorial service was held April 12, 2003 at Quinlan Funeral Home, Quinlan, Texas at 10 a.m. Graveside services were held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, Okla., at 2 p.m.

Survivors include his loving parents, Jim and Tina (Torres) Farley of Quinlan, Texas; one sister, Christa Renee Farley; paternal grandparents Lloyd Farley, Granite City, Ill., and Dollie Wells of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandfather, John T. Cook, Sawyer, Okla.; aunts and uncles: Paul and Melissa Taylor of Hugo, Sammy and LeAnn (Williams) Shawhart, Hugo, Scott and Lisa Torres, Oklahoma City, Okla.; cousins: Chadley Williams of Hugo, Natalie and Dustin Torres, Oklahoma City, Tara Paige Taylor of Hugo, and Dara and Blake Shawhart of Hugo.

Helen D. Miellmier

Graveside services were held Monday, April 14, 2003 at 11 a.m. in the Forest Chapel Cemetery in Chicota for Helen D. Miellmier.

Helen died Thursday, April 10, 2003 in Texarkana, Texas. She was 82.

Helen was born Sept. 24, 1920 in Chicota, Texas, to Wiliam C. and Lillie G. (Morris) McDaniel. She married William Miellmier. Helen owned and operated the Longhorn Restaurant on West Jackson Street in the late 1950s to the early ‘70s. She was a member of the Grant Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Glenn Moore, Jr. She is survived by two daughters: Phyllis Benton, Hooks, Texas and Dixie Moore, Cherry Bell, Kan.; one sister, Bernice Meyer, Concrete, Wash.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Directing the service was Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home of Hugo.

Eli Robinson

Services for Eli Robinson were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2003 in the Pigeon Roost Presbyterian Church in Boswell.

Eli died April 9, 2003 in Ada, Okla. He was 65.

Eli was born March 15, 1938 in Sunkist, Okla., the son of Roy Robinson and Elizabeth (Nicholas) Robinson and had lived all of his life in the Durant area. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Carrie Robinson and one sister, Norma Wilson.

A U.S. Army veteran and retired Durant city employee, Eli was a member of the Presbyterian faith.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Susan Robinson; one son, Eli Robinson, Jr.; two daughters: Debra Valgren, and Karen Phillips, Mead, Okla.; three sisters: Lelda Barnosk, Durant, Okla., Betty Kimbrough, Bokchito, Okla., and Cindy Robinson, Boswell, Okla; four brothers: Raymond Robinson, Mipitas, Calif., James Robinson, Louisville, Ky., Skylar Robinson, Sherman, Texas, and Roy Robinson, Boswell; one step-brother, Noel Belvin, Duncanville, Texas; one step-sister, Virginia Espinoza, Calera, Okla.; eight grandchildren an numerous nieces and nephews.

Officiating was Jim Bruner assisted by Virginia Espinoza. Services were directed by Miller & Miller Funeral Home of Boswell.

Wayne Powell

Graveside services for Wayne Powell were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2003 in the Swink Cemetery.
Powell died April 13, 2003 in Hugo, Okla. He was 57.

Frank Wayne Powell was born April 12, 1946 in Swink, Okla., the son of Frank Powell and Mae (Piearcy) Powell and had lived all of his life in the Swink area. He married Martha Earnest on June 16, 1978 in Clarksville, Texas.

Wayne was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Baptist faith.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Martha Powell; one son, Billy Powell, Swink, Okla.; four daughters: Recesa Powell, Sawyer, Okla., Robin O’Rear, Idabel, Okla., Susan Payne and Crista Wright, of Hugo; three brothers: Bobby Powell, Valliant, Cecil Hisaw, Jr., Swink, and Rusty Powell, Ashdown, Ark.; two sisters: Ruby Forester, Swink, and Kathy Hutchison, Paris, Texas; 13 grandchildren and one great grandaughter.

Officiating was Bennie Hammons. Miller & Miller Funeral Home of Valliant directed the services.

Terry Don Allen

Services for Terry Don Allen will be at 2 p.m. April 2, 2003 in Jesus Name Church in Boswell. Terry Don died March 30, 2003 in Bennington, Okla. He was 56.

Terry Don was born Oct. 4, 1946 in Boswell, Okla., the son of John Lewis Allen and Norene (Darling) Allen and had lived all of his life in the Boswell area. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Wanda Sue Allen.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, at the Miller & Miller Funeral Home in Boswell.

Surviving relatives include two sons: William Allen and Tracy Allen both of Bennington, Okla.; two daughters: Tammy Allen of Bennington, and Robin Graves of Caney, Okla.; his mother, Norene Darling Allen of Bennington, 10 brothers and sisters: Hazel Fay Larkins, Boswell, Jackie Lewis Allen, Boswell, Jerry Ben Allen, Durant, Johnny Allen, Boswell, George Aaron Allen, Bennington, Billy Chase, Bennington, Danny Allen, Albuquerque, N.M., Dorothy Allen, of Idaho, Roberta Allen, of Oregon and Joe Allen of Idaho; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Officiating the services will be Ronald Pickard and burial will follow in Restland Cemetery of Boswell under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home of Hugo.

Henry Luther Parker
Henry Luther Parker, formerly of Hugo, died Feb. 20, 2003 in Shawnee. He was 58.

Services will be in Boley.

Henry is survived by several relatives, including one brother, Charles Parker of Hugo; and two sisters, Christene Wren and Louise Parker, both of Hugo.

Levan Starlin
Services for Levan Starlin, of Dallas, Texas, were at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 22, 2003 at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Hugo. The Rev. Arthur Jefferson officiated the ceremony. Interment followed at the Crosley Cemetery.

Levan Starlin, formerly of Hugo, died Feb. 16, 2003 in Dallas. He was 59.

Levan Starlin is survived by his wife, Marnie Nell Starlin of Dallas; two sons, Brandon Starlin of Dallas and Michael Starlin of Hugo; his mother, Pauline Starlin of Hugo; two brothers, Otis Starlin of Paris, Texas and Curtis Starlin of Dallas; four sisters, Charlene Bills of New Port News, Va., Mary Ann Calvin of Hugo, Lutherine Starlin and Paulette Starlin, both of Dallas; one grandson; four aunts; one uncle; 11 nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and nephews.

Rogan Funeral Home in Hugo handled the funeral arrangements.
