ADA — Services for Modean Lamson, 81, Ada, are 10 a.m. Friday, at the First United Methodist Church, Dr. George Warren officiating. Burial follows at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Lamson died Oct. 3, 2005, at a local nursing home. She was born June 2, 1924, at Kanima, Okla., to William M. and Sarah Denton Meek. She graduated from Okmulgee High School and attended Wichita State University.

She married Thomas B. Lamson June 4, 1950, at Wichita, Kan. Mrs. Lamson was a medical technician at Valley View Regional Hospital from 1967 until her retirement in 1978. Formerly, she was employed with the Sugg Clinic from 1953 until 1960. Mrs. Lamson was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Women, taught Sunday School for 3-year-olds, and was a volunteer at Ballard Nursing Home for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Tom Lamson, of the home; one son, Tom Lamson, Jr. and wife Joan, Oklahoma City; one daughter, Sheila Winemiller and husband Jake, Sterling, Neb.; five grandchildren, Mollie Brue, Norman, Kearby Lamson, Edmond, Jack Winemiller, Hannah Winemiller and Johnson Winemiller, all of Sterling, Neb.; two sisters, Norma Jean Smith, Bartlesville, and Lela Olds, Blanchard; and one brother, Damon Meek, Houston, Texas.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to the First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 566, Ada, OK 74820.

TULSA — Services for Lorice Wanda Collier, 84, Tulsa, formerly of Ada, are 2 p.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Carl Johnson officiating. Burial follows at Memorial Park Cemetery, Ada.

Mrs. Collier died Oct. 1, 2005, at Tulsa. She was born Oct. 5, 1920, at Stonewall, to C. F. and Minnie Burnett Billings. She lived in the Stonewall and Ada area all her life, graduating from Ada High School in 1938. She also attended East Central University.

She married Carroll Collier Jan. 17, 1942. He died Aug. 25, 2000. Mrs. Collier was a homemaker, and an active member of the First Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was a member of the Lydia Sunday School Class and she worked in the children’s department and Bible School. She was also a Den Mother in Cub Scouts and worked with the Campfire Girls.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen Collier, Tulsa; two sons, Don Collier, Caney, Kan., and Terry Collier, Tulsa; a sister, Betty Zanola, Norman; and five grandchildren, Lynn Kavulich, Richard Taliaferro, Kathy Collier, Amber Collier and Ashton Collier.

Bearers are Doug Kavulich, Chris Kalbach and Richard Taliaferro.

Honorary bearer is Aubrey Bain.

OKLAHOMA CITY — Services for Leola “Lee” M. Collier, 89, Oklahoma City, are 2 p.m. Monday at Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City.

Mrs. Collier died Sept. 29, 2005, at Oklahoma City. She was born Feb. 20, 1916, at Frisco, Okla., to William H. and Clara Turner Chronister.

She married Percy “Red” Edward Collier in 1951. She moved from Ada to the Oklahoma City area in 1982.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Bob, Herb, Tom and Jack Chronister; two half-brothers, Jim and Carl Turner; a sister, Mattie Williams; and a stepson, Percy Collier.

Survivors include a three stepdaughters, Ann, Elizabeth and Margy; a sister, Myrtle Ann Rose, Valley Brook; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Rackley died Sept. 29, 2005, at Ada. He was born Nov. 16, 1943, at Shawnee, to Leo J. and Lelvia Nuckols Rackley.

He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1961 and served six years in the 95th Army Reserve. He retired from Wolverine Tube, Shawnee, after 27 years of service, where he was a production supervisor. Prior to Wolverine, he worked as a carpenter with his father and brother-in-law, Bill Johnson. He was a member of the Downtown Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He married Sherry Lynn Thurmanat the Downtown Pentecostal Holiness Church, Shawnee, June 26, 1965.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Lelvia Rackley; mother and father-in-law, Melvin and Beulah Thurman; a sister, Anna Rose; a brother, Jesse Rackley; and a grandson, Collin Ryan Haley.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry, of the home; two daughters, Diana Lynn Young and husband Greg, Shawnee, and Reneé Allen and husband Carl, Ada; three grandchildren, Maegan, Erika and Zachary; a sister, Edith Johnson and husband Bill, Shawnee; three brothers-in-law, Ronnie Thurman and wife Vicki, Wanette, Donnie Thurman and wife Karen, and Bill Rose and wife Cathy, all of Shawnee; a sister-in-law, Dixie Rackley, Shawnee; and numerous other relatives and friends.

ADA — Services for Dusty Bo Abbott, 19, Ada, are 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Ada, the Revs. Kirk Remers, Randy McCown and Mike Luster officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mr. Abbott died Sept. 26, 2005, at Ada. He was born July 31, 1986, at Ada, to Vernon Vincent and Robin Leigh Thomas Abbott. He attended school at Latta and graduated from Roff High School in 2005, where he was a member of the Roff Tiger Basketball team, a member of the 2004 State Champion Baseball team, the Future Farmers of America and the Academic team at Roff High School. He was a freshman at East Central University, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

Mr. Abbott was a Little League Umpire at the Homer Baseball Fields, was employed at the Chickasaw Lazer Zone and Superior Sign Shop. He attended Lightning Ridge Baptist Church and later attended Morris Memorial Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sammie Thomas, Sally Dumas, Jourdan Abbott and Merle Abbott; and great-grandparents, Roy and Marie Bottoms.

Survivors include his parents, Vince and Robin Abbott, of the home; a sister, Misty Lynn Abbott, of the home; grandmother, Mary E. Thomas, Ada; two uncles, Richard Thomas and wife Pat and Russell Thomas, all of Ada; three aunts, Cindy Griffin and husband Richard, Ada, Holly Wilkes and husband Greg, Purcell, and Dayna Dumas, California; cousins, Rodney Thomas, Shannon Thomas, Justin Thomas, Mandy Thomas, Cody Griffin and Nicole Griffin, all of Ada.

Bearers are Richard Griffin, Cody Griffin, Brandon Hatton, Felix Perez, Eric Strickland and Billy Henson.

Honorary bearers are all members of the Latta Cubs, Roff Tigers and Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

ADA — Services for Frances Nadine Alexander, 77, Ada, are 2 p.m. Friday at Morris Memorial Baptist Church, the Rev. Gary Jamar officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mrs. Alexander died Sept. 26, 2005, at her home. She was born Nov. 6, 1927, at Jenks, to B. F. and Vernon D. Coley Taylor. She attended elementary school in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri, and she attended Ada High School. She moved to this area in 1943 from Hugo.

She married Arthur D. “A. D.” Alexander Dec. 13, 1945, at Ada. He died Nov. 5, 1982, at Ada. Mrs. Alexander, and her sister, Bea Oakes, were co-owners and operators of Alexander and Oakes Income Tax Service for 25 years. Mrs. Alexander was later a partner in Kathy’s Half Size Shop for 18 years, retiring in December of 1993. She was of the Baptist faith, and taught Sunday school at Oak Avenue and Morris Memorial Baptist Churches for 53 years.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucy Payne and Beatrice Oakes; and three brothers, Delbert Taylor, Sammy Taylor and Fred Taylor.

Survivors include three sons, Jimmy D. Alexander, Whittier, Calif., Ronny V. Alexander and wife Frances, Ada, and Allen Bruce Alexander and wife Janice, Porter, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher L. Alexander and wife Brandy, North Charleston, S.C., Chad M. Alexander, Knob Noster, Mo., Diana M. Davis and husband Nick, Porter, Texas, and Logan Alexander, Tyler, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann Taylor, Ada, and Kathryn Taylor, McAlester; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Bearers are her grandsons, Chris Alexander, Chad Alexander, Logan Alexander, and Nick Davis, and Joe Bonner and Jim Jackson.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to the American Red Cross, Disaster Relief Fund, 704 N. Oak, Ste. 16, Ada, OK 74820.
