Nancy M. Ebaugh

Nancy M. Ebaugh, 54, of Newberry Twp., Etters, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at Select Specialty Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp. after a 15 year fight with breast cancer.
She was a retired corporate taxing officer for the Commonwealth of PA, Dept. of Revenue, Corporate Tax Division; a 1969 graduate of Red Land High School, Lewisberry; and she was an avid shopper and enjoyed her stays at the beach house. Mrs. Ebaugh was born November 3, 1951, in Newberry Twp., York County, to the late Ellsworth D. and Gladys E. (Harro) Fisher.
Surviving are husband of 22 years, Harold G. Ebaugh; a daughter, Danielle L. Deibler and husband Eric E. of York Haven; three sons, Shawn L. Crumling and wife Jennifer A. of York Haven, Ryan S. Ebaugh and wife Athena L. of Carlisle, William D. Ebaugh and companion Denise V. Barrick, Carlisle; three brothers, Alvin L. Fisher, York Haven, Donald E. Fisher, Sr., Etters, and Paul A. Fisher, Lewisberry; three sisters, Dorcas L. Rehm, Darlene A. Reese, and Lucy M. Hart, all of Etters; nine grandchildren, Kylie and Austin Deibler, Shane Crumling, Tyler Wiley, Lauren, Raegen, and Briar Ebaugh, McKenna Stone, and Dominick Ebaugh; 14 nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Gidget.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with Pastor Simon A. Lehman, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Cross Road Cemetery, Fairview Twp. Viewing will be held 6 – 8 pm Sunday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “Team Butterfly” c/o American Cancer Society, Capital Region Unit, 3211 N. Front Street, Suite 100, Harrisburg, Pa 17110-1342.

Vance L. Eberts
March 21, 2006
Vance L. Eberts, 83, of Etters, died Tuesday March 21, 2006 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was a retired tool & die maker in the Frog and Switch Division of Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Steelton Plant and a member of the local United Steel Workers Union. He was a WWII Army veteran and a member of Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisberry where he had previously served on the Church Council. Vance was born April 10, 1922 in Harrisburg to the late Harry O. and Carrie (Setzer) Eberts.
He is survived by his wife Ruth (Kinsey) Eberts; 2 sons and their wives, Michael L. and wife Lois Ann of Etters and James A. and wife Christine of Goldsboro; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy L. and George Kreitzer of Etters and Bonnie L. and Jerry Osman of Dillsburg; 4 grandchildren, Michael A. Eberts, Tammi Popp and husband Josh, Philip A. Eberts and Kyle Hank.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday March 24, 2006 in his church with his pastor, the Rev. Timothy L. Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Hilltop Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to services on Friday in the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to either his church at 863 Lewisberry Road Lewisberry, PA 17339 or to the United Parkinson’s Foundation, 1501 NW 9th Ave. Bob Hope Road, Miami, Florida 33136-1494.

Charles H. Crisp, Jr.
March 27, 2006
Charles H. Crisp, Jr. 91, of Camp Hill and formerly of New Cumberland and Philadelphia, died Monday, March 27, 2006 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was a retired self employed truck driver. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, New Cumberland. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed woodworking. He was born May 14, 1914 in Philadelphia to the late Charles H. and Catherine Mary (Schoepflin) Crisp. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Eva S. Daihl Crisp, his son-in-law, David Christie, and grandson, David C. Christie.
He is survived by a son, Charle H. III of Fayeteville; two daughters, Judy C. Christie of Walnut Bottom and Orpha Jean Hare of Camp Hill; four grandchildren, Craig D. Christie of Walnut Bottom, Kelly C. Barclay of Lewisberry, Danielle R. Crisp of Misawa, Japan, and Nicole M. Crisp of Carlisle; two great-granddaughters; a great-grandson; and a great-great-grandson.
Viewing will be at 9:30am Thursday followed by funeral services at 10:30am at Trinity United Methodist Church, New Cumberland.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 100 East Brown Street, Suite 23, Middletown, PA 17057. Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland has been entrusted with arrangements.

William R. Strauss
March 27, 2006
William R. Strauss, 21, of Etters died Monday March 27, 2006.
Billy was a 2003 graduate of Red Land High School; was certified in networking by the Cumberland Perry Vocational Technical School; and attended ITT Technical Institute, Mechanicsburg. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his parents, Frederick and Karen (Underkoffler) Strauss of Etters; his brother Thomas M. Strauss of Etters; his paternal grandmother Mary Strauss of Myerstown; his maternal grandmother Carol Kraft of Cary, NC; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 7 pm on Thursday March 30, 2006 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. Carl Ford Peterson officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday in the funeral home. A private committal service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners’ Hospital for Children, c/o Zembo Temple, 2801 N. Third Street Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Paul E. Minner
March 28, 2006
Paul E. “Lefty” Minner, 82, of Lemoyne and formerly of New Castle died Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Holy Spirit Hospital.
He retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Insurance Department. A retired professional baseball player, he pitched in the 1949 World Series for the Brooklyn Dodgers and from 1950 until 1957 for the Chicago Cubs. He was a member of the Lawrence County Sports Hall of Fame and the Brooklyn Dodgers Hall of Fame. He was born in New Castle to the late James and Cotie Minner. He was also predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Eileen H. Hoover Minner, his brother Russell Minner and sisters, Gertrude Rodgers, Helen Garrett, and Florence Moore.
He is survived by a son, Jon E. and his wife Sandy of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Brian Minner of Philadelphia and Beth Minner of Camp Hill; a step grandson Kevin Yeingst and his wife Lorri and their children Kyle and Spencer all of Feasterville.
Visitation will be at 10am Saturday followed by a memorial service at 11am at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Private Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

Richard F. Wehrle
March 28, 2006
Richard F. Wehrle, 76, of Lemoyne, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He joined The Patriot News Co. in January, 1955, as a member of the retail advertising staff; served as National Advertising Manager, 1963 – 1968; served as Sales/Personnel Director, 1968 – 1972; joined the sales office of Newhouse Newspapers, Metro Suburbia, New York City, in 1972; returned to The Patriot News in late 1973; became the Production Manager in June, 1974, and Assistant to the Publisher in 1980. He retired in 1987.
Mr. Wehrle was a 1947 graduate of St. Vincent Prep School; attended St. Vincent College 1947 – 1949; a 1951 graduate of St. Francis College; attended Dickinson Law School 1951 – 1952. He was an Army veteran during the Korean War serving with the 503rd Division; a member of the Cathedral Parish of St. Patrick, Harrisburg; Pennsylvania Newspaper Publishers Assn.; Harrisburg Rotary Club; past board member of Harrisburg Area Chamber of Commerce; past president of Keystone Council, Boy Scouts of America; past member of the Board of Directors, Community General Osteopathic Hospital; past president of the Mental Health Assn.; past president of the Grocery Manufacturers of Central PA; past board member of Pennsylvania Council on Crime and Delinquency.
Born April 8, 1929, in Punxsutawney, he was the son of Paul W. and Magdalene C. (McGovern) Wehrle. Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Patricia A. (Gibb) Wehrle; two sons, William R., Northville, MI, and John A., Rochester, NY; three daughters, Diane L. Lyman, Springfield, MA, Margaret M. Heintzelman, Harrisburg, and Christine R. Condon, Shippensburg; a brother, Phillip Wehrle, Rochester, NY; two sisters, Cecelia Hughes, Punxsutawney, and Anne Lynch, Catonsville, MD; 10 grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Monday in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Harrisburg, with the Rev. Thomas J. Rozman as celebrant. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Visitation will be held 2 – 4 pm Sunday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cathedral Parish of St. Patrick, 212 State Street, Harrisburg, Pa 17101, or to Holy Spirit Hospital, 503 N. 21st Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011.

Paul E. “Lefty” Minner, 82, of Lemoyne and formerly of New Wilmington died Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Holy Spirit Hospital.
