January 24, 2004
Audrey H. Estes, 73, of Lower Allen Twp, died Friday at her home.
She was a retired Registered Nurse from Harrisburg Hospital. She received her nursing degree from St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, Brooklyn, NY. She was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, Camp Hill where she had served as an Elder, Deacon, and Sunday School Teacher. She also was a Dutchmaid Demonstrator for many years. She was born January 17, 1931 in Jamaica, NY to the late Sidney M. Hunn, Jr. and Eleanor Weltner Hunn.
She is survived by her husband, David R. Estes; three daughters, Virginia Estes Thompson of Colonial Park, Patricia Estes Lapp of Newport, and Karen Lee Darrenkamp of Lancaster; a sister, Commander Eleanor K. Hunn, US Navy, Retired, of Arlington, VA; several cousins; and four grandchildren, David, Andrew and Kathryn Lapp and Daniel Thompson.
Viewing will be from 6-8pm Tuesday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Memorial services will be held at 2pm Wednesday at Christ Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp. Family will accept friends from 1-2pm Wednesday at the church.

Richard C. Pelton
January 29, 2004
Richard C. “Dick” Pelton, 73, life-long resident of Lewisberry entered into eternal rest on Thursday January 29, 2004 at his residence.
He was born January 17, 1931 to the late Geraldine Pelton Cook Trout and was a loving husband and friend to many throughout his life. Dick loved his community. He graduated from William Penn High School, Harrisburg and later served with the U.S. Army’s 28th Infantry Division as a Korean War veteran. Dick retired from the former American National Can Co., Lemoyne, where he was known as “Speedy” with 36 years of service. He was Mayor of the Borough of Lewisberry for 16 years; past president of Lewisberry Borough Council; life member, past president, secretary treasurer and trustee of Lewisberry Fire Co.; past president of Annie E. Sterline Library, Lewisberry; life member of Fairview Twp. Fire Co.; past president of Red Land Community Corp.; past president of Homer C. Hetrick Health Center where he also served on the board of directors; past president of New Cumberland Federal Credit Union; past trustee and current honorary member of Emanuel Cemetery Assn., Fairview Twp.; and served on the board of the West Shore Recreation Commission. He was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church, Lewisberry where he was honored for his lifetime service to both his church and his community; lifetime member of both Cumberland and York Co. Fire Police; American Legion Post 143 and VFW Post 7415, both of New Cumberland; West Shore Lodge 681, F&AM; Harrisburg Consistory; Zembo Shrine; Zembo Luncheon Club; Cumberland Co. Shrine Club; and Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Harrisburg Forest 43.
Dick is survived by his loving wife of over 35 years, Mary Urich Pelton.
Services will be held 11 am Monday February 2, 2004 in his church with the Rev. William F. Gettins, his pastor officiating. Burial will be in Emanuel Cemetery, Fairview Twp. Viewings will be 5-8 pm Sunday in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland and will include a Masonic service at 7 and again on Monday, 10 am until time of funeral at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Bethel United Methodist Church, 1495 Kunkle’s Mill Rd. Lewisberry, PA 17339.

Mary Jane Dick
February 3, 2004
Mary Jane Dick, 55, of Camp Hill and formerly of Selinsgrove died Tuesday 2/3/04 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
She was a childcare provider for children of friends and family who knew her affectionately as “Janie”, collected Santa Clause’s, and was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. Mary Jane was born 9/29/48 to the late Dr. Joseph and Betty (Curry) Gerdes and was also preceded in death by a brother Joseph Gerdes, Jr., M.D.
She is survived by her husband John M. Dick, Jr.; a son John M. Dick, III and wife Claire of Camp Hill; 2 daughters, Tracey A. Wisman and husband Jeff of Lemoyne and Jennifer E. Dick of Camp Hill; 5 grandchildren, Quinten, Dillon and Tyson Dick and Brianna and Jarrett Wisman; her mother in law Marian R. Smith, sisters in law Sally Krouse and husband Tom, and Carol Frey and husband Phillip, all of Selinsgrove.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 2/7/04 at noon in her church with the Rev. Msgr. William Richardson, her pastor officiating. Burial will be in Tri-County Memorial Gardens, Fairview Twp. Viewing will be from 10:30-11:30 am Saturday in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Josephine Kohr Brinley
March 23, 2004
Josephine Kohr Brinley, 79, of New Cumberland, died March 23, 2004, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Township.
She was born on March 27, 1924, in New Cumberland, PA, the daughter of the late Henrietta Adams Kohr Embick and State Representative Russell R. Kohr. She was a 1942 graduate of the New Cumberland High School and a 1945 graduate of the Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing. Jo, as she was called, was a former employee of the Harrisburg Hospital and retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Health. She was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, New Cumberland, and its Little Flower Club, and an enthusiastic Penn State football supporter.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years George R. Brinley, twin sons G. Robert, Jr., husband of Maryann Bucknum Brinley, of Upper Montclair, NJ, and Dr. Stephen K., husband of Mary Hennigan Brinley, of Florence, AL; a daughter Jody of New Cumberland; and a daughter Jennifer B. Rockey, wife of Robert R., also of New Cumberland. She was preceded in death by her brother Russell V. Kohr. Surviving in addition to her husband and children are a brother, Marshall R. Kohr of Sarasota, FL, a sister, Henrietta Valor Towey, of Studio City, CA, and a brother, Harvey M. Embick of Watkins Glen, NY, eight grandchildren, Jason S. Brinley, Megan A. Hennigan, Andrea M. Brinley, G. Zachary Brinley, 1Lt. Theresa J. Hennigan, Stephen K. Brinley, Jr., Margaret B. Brinley, Taylor A. Rockey, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 26, at 11:00 a.m. at her church, with her pastor, Msgr. William Richardson celebrating. Inurnment will be in the family mausoleum at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, New Cumberland. In celebration of her life, friends may call at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1303 Bridge Street, New Cumberland, on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

John T. Prior
March 18, 2004
John T. “Jack” Prior, loving husband, father, and grandfather, 71, of Lower Allen Twp., Camp Hill, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2004 at home.
Jack was a retired sales representative for Diocesan Publications where he was employed for 15 years and Moore Business Forms where he was employed for 20 years. He was active in the Parishes of Sacred Heart, The Cathedral Parish of St. Patrick, and St. Theresa as a Eucharistic Minister, Minister of Communion for the homebound, and a Landings team member. He also served as a Diocesan Landings trainer. He volunteered for many organizations including Highland Girls Softball, National Marriage Encounter, FIRES Marriage Re-Encounter, Contact Harrisburg, PFLAG of Central PA, Co-Facilitator of the Man to Man Prostate Cancer Support Group, and American Cancer Society.
Jack is survived by his loving wife Mary Ann (Geary) Prior, his daughter Mary Beth (Prior) Smith and her husband Greg, his daughter Shari (Prior) Juliana and her husband Dan, his daughter Joyce Prior and her partner Donna Blume, and his son David L. Prior. Jack is also survived by seven grandchildren, Kelly and Steven Smith, and Katie, Tim, Rebecca, Kevin, and Matthew Juliana. He was the son of the late L. D. and Pearl (Haycook) Prior. He was preceded in death by two brothers Robert and Richard Prior and one sister Polly Ann (Prior) Logsdon.
Jack will be remembered by his many friends and family for his warm smile, loving hugs, sense of humor, and most of all for his willingness to share his love with all.
Visitation will be held at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1303 Bridge Street, New Cumberland, on Sunday March 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Theresa’s Parish, 1300 Bridge St., New Cumberland, at 11 a.m. Monday, March 22 with Msgr. William M. Richardson as celebrant.

Rut G. Nymar
March 19, 2004
Rut G. Nyman, 87, formerly of Susquehanna View Apartments, Camp Hill and most recently of the Ecumenical Community, Harrisburg, died Friday March 19, 2004 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
Mrs. Nyman was born February 15, 1917 in Helsinki, Finland to the late Hjalmar and Elsa (Fernstrom) Nyman. During her youth, she participated in and won many Scandinavian tennis and track & field tournaments. In 1946 she moved to Stockholm, Sweden, where she lived until 1962, when she moved to the United States. She resided in New Rochelle, N.Y. prior to moving to Camp Hill in 1992.
She is survived by a son Bernt O. "Ben" Nyman and wife Elaine "Lennie" of Camp Hill; a grandson Eric S. Nyman also of Camp Hill; and several nieces and nephews in Finland.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday April 3, 2004 in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut St., Camp Hill with the Rev. J. Stewart Hardy officiating. Visitation with the family will follow the memorial service at the Church. Burial will be in Helsinki, Finland at a later time.

Edwin Tracy Rhodes, III
March 15, 2004
Edwin Tracy Rhodes, III, of Fairview Twp., died Monday, March 15, 2004 at his home.
He was a retired computer technician from Tangent Computers, CA. A 1955 Graduate of New Cumberland High School, he was a licensed auctioneer, a member of NRA, and avid fisherman, hunter, boater, and scuba diver. The son of the late Edwin Tracy Rhodes, II, he was born September 3, 1937 in York.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene A. Rhodes; mother, Esta V. Rhodes of Shrewsbury; two sons, Edwin T., IV of Mt. Pleasant, IA and Shawn E. of Palm Coast, FL; two daughters, Lori Fuhrer of Titusville, FL and Amy L. Benbrook of Niceville, FL; five grandchildren and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm Friday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. There will be no viewing.
