Richard F. Corcoran
Richard Francis Corcoran, 51, of Grays Landing, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was born July 8, 1950, in Uniontown, Pa., beloved son of Catherine "Kay" (Plitka) Corcoran of Grays Landing, and the late John Samuel "Jaggers" Corcoran Jr.
He was the dear brother of Carol Ann Neff and husband, Jim of Melbourne, Fla., Stephen J. Corcoran and wife, Ina B. of Masontown, Pa., Suzanne Stuckey and husband, Douglas of Titusville, Fla., and Catherine Thompson and husband, Jack of Livingston, Texas; an uncle to Stephen J. Corcoran Jr., of Winchester, Va., Shelley L. Corcoran of Masontown, Pa., Jennifer R. Ludrosky of Carmichaels, Pa., Scott J. Neff and John C. Neff, both of Melbourne, Fla., Timothy J. Stuckey of Titusville, Fla., and Christina K. Bishop, stationed in Germany. He is also survived by a special aunt, Anne Swift of Masontown; and many other dear aunts, uncles and cousins. Besides his loving family, he leaves behind his precious pet "Sandy".
Richard was a graduate of Albert Gallatin High School, Class of 1969, and was a member of the Pal’s Club Softball League of Masontown, for many years. He was a wonderful son, brother and a "Cool" uncle, and will be sadly missed.
Friends were received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 515 North Main St., Masontown, on Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, from 2 until 7:30 p.m., when services were conducted, with the Rev. Harold O. Kelley officiating. Private committal services will be held for the family on Monday, Dec. 3, 2001. In lieu of flowers, donations, in Richard’s memory, may be made to the American Heart Association, Route 40 West, Uniontown PA 15401.

Elmer R. DeBerry
Elmer Ray DeBerry, 67, of Grindstone, Pa., died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, in Brownsville General Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Vernon DeBerry; and a grandson Ray DeBerry.
Surviving are six children, Ray of Brownsville, Pa., Fred of Newell, Pa., Michael of Grindstone, Pa., Mark of Grindstone, Pa., Renee of Grindstone, Pa., and Matthew of Grindstone, Pa.; three grandchildren, Ashley, Elisha and Felicia; a brother, Carless DeBerry of Uniontown, Pa.; and two sisters, Shirley De Berry of Cleveland, Ohio, and Christina Yost of Fairmont, W.Va.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., and on Monday until 9:30 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Fr. John Sedlak officiating. Entombment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park. Visitation was also held on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.

Ann Dranzo
Ann Dranzo, 85, of Cokeburg, Pa., died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington, Pa.
She was formerly employed by RCA at Meadowlands.
She is survived by one son, John M. Dranzo of Cokeburg; one grandson; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
Friends will be received in the Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main St., Bentleyville, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. the hour of service, in the funeral home.

Anna A. Dyer
Anna Amanda (Housel) Dyer, 57, of Youngwood, died Thursday, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg.
She is survived by five daughters, Junita Knopp of Youngwood, Lisa White of Scottdale, Mrs. Ernest (Melissa) Smith of Youngwood and Jackie and Faith Dyer; several grandchildren and a sister, Mary E. (Housel) Thomas of Mount Pleasant.
Friends will be received at Eugene G. Saloom Funeral Home Inc., 730 W. Main St., Mount Pleasant, on Monday from 2 to 9 p.m. and until Tuesday at a time to be announced.

Alice V. Fosbrink
Alice V. Fosbrink, 79, of Connellsville, died Thursday, at her residence.
She is survived by one son, Arthur Fosbrink Jr. of Connellsville; three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Christine) McCarney of Connellsville, Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Boone of Dawson and Mrs. Tom (Joann) Rice of Mount Pleasant; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one half-brother, Frank Foster Jr. of Connellsville.
Arrangements were under the direction of Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville.

Carrie M. Hajdu
Carrie Marie Hajdu, 23, of Daisytown, Pa., died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, in Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
She was born Nov. 2, 1978.
Carrie was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church of Daisytown, Pa.
She was a graduate of California High School, and was a senior at California University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Public Relations.
Carrie was employed by Eighty-Four Lumber Company.
Surviving are her parents, Gary and Renee Hajdu of Daisytown, Pa.; a brother, Clint Hajdu, at home; her paternal grandmother, Ida Teper Hajdu of Daisytown; and maternal grandparents, William and Dolores Porterfield of New Salem, Pa.
Friends were received in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main St., Route 40, Beallsville, on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m., and will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., where a blessing service will be held on Monday, Dec. 2, 2001, in the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Mary’s R.C. Church of Daisytown, with the Rev. Fr. Francis Jurewicz as celebrant. Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.

Betty J. Helms
Betty Jean Helms, 81, of Connellsville, Pa., died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, in Lint’s Personal Care Home, Connellsville.
She was born Dec. 3, 1919, the daughter of the late George W. Jones, and the late Viola Grace Moore Bartholomai.
Betty Jean was a member of the Albright United Methodist Church of South Connellsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred C. Helms Jr., in 1996; and one sister, Alice Corrine Bartholomai.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Ciciretti and Pat Riley, both of Connellsville; five grandchildren, Dominick A. Ciciretti and wife, Roxanne, David Greer and fiancée, Kim Snyder, Timothy J. Ciciretti and fiancée, Peggy Tremba, Daniel Greer and fiancée, Darla Patterson and Jeananne Collins and husband, Kevin; nine great-grandchildren, Dominick A. Ciciretti III, Timi Sue Ciciretti, Janie Rae Ciciretti, Anna Lea Collins, David Greer Jr., Devin Greer, Jennia Greer, Justin Patterson and Brooke Amber Greer; and four brothers, Bill Jones and wife, Peggy of Belle Vernon, Kenneth "Ky’ Jones and his wife, Marge of Lacy, Wash., James Bartholomai and his fiancée, Brenda of Hyndman, and David Jones and his wife, Kay of Connellsville.
Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green St., Connellsville, today from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Byron Tate Fulton officiating. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.

Addie B. Houston
Addie B. Houston, 54, of Uniontown, Pa., died Thursday evening, Nov. 29, 2001, in Doctors Hospital, Lanham, Md.
Surviving are two sons, Darvin Houston and wife, Tonya of New Carrollton, Md., and Fred Houston of Silver Spring, Md.; her mother, Artentious Ramsey of Uniontown, Pa.; three grandchildren; six brothers; and six sisters.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Muriel E. Lantz Funeral Home, 297 East Main St., Uniontown, Pa.

Martha G. Hughes
Martha G. (Price) Hughes, 93, of Fairchance, Pa., died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, in the Uniontown Hospital.
She was born April 1, 1908, in Georges Township, Pa., daughter of the late James Price and Margaret Myers Price.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Hughes on March 27, 1984; a son, Donald Hughes on Sept. 16, 1991; three sisters, Olive Price, Hazel Price and Dorothia Bricker; and two brothers, Floyd Price and William (Bud) Price.
Surviving are two children, Margaret D. Robinson and James E. Hughes Jr., both of Fairchance; six grandchildren, Sandy L. Hughes and James R. Hughes, both of Fairchance, Dale Crossland and wife, Patty of Uniontown, Terrie Jordan of Grindstone, Pa., Vickie Silbaugh and husband, Richard of South Carolina, and Kim Palo and husband, Richard of Fairchance; two great-grandchildren, Shawntel Silbaugh and Rachelle Radolec and husband, Robert, all of South Carolina; two great great-grandchildren, Coleton Radolec and Leksi Radolec, both of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 East Church St. Fairchance, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Tuesday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Kenneth Walls and the Rev. Wayne R. Sawyer officiating. Interment will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.

Kathryn Lavish
Kathryn (Lincoln) Lavish, 80, of Gans (Crystal), Pa., died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born in Guyaux, Springhill Township, on Sept. 15, 1921, daughter of the late Robert and Minnie Upward Lincoln.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Lavish on July 7, 1991; and brothers, Robert, John, George, Jim, Arthur and Charles.
She is survived by three daughters, Kay Trottier of Stevenville, Mt., Shirley Lang of Morgantown, W.Va., and Wilma Stammler of Lake Lynn, Pa.; one son, Michael Lavish of Gans; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Betty Graznak of Greensboro, Pa., Doris Kerns of Morgantown, W.Va., and Mary Stripling of Appollo, Pa.
Friends will be received in the LOUIS E. RUDOLPH FUNERAL HOME, 15 Main St., Point Marion today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Monday, Dec. 3, 2001 at 11 a.m., the hour of service, in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Sharyn Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa. Visitation was also held on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, from 7 to 9 p.m.

John C. Platos Jr.
John C. Platos Jr., 75, of Merrittstown, Pa., and a lifelong resident of Brownsville, Pa., died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, in the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born Jan. 16, 1926, in Brownsville, a son of the late John C. Sr., and Adda Williams Platos.
John was a member of the South Brownsville United Methodist Church, and had been co-owner of Evergreen Floral in Brownsville, for over 20 years.
Surviving are his wife, Loretta Sandala Platos; a brother, Al Platos and his wife, Jean of Greensburg; nephews and nieces, Kent and wife, Karen of Greensburg, Scott and wife, Kathleen of Ligonier, Kimberly and husband, David Pierce of Frederick Va., Jeannie and husband, Van Johnson of Woodbridge, Va., and Stacey and husband, Michael Driscoll of Georgetown, Md.; and great-nieces and nephews, Nicole, Michelle and Stephen Platos, Renee and Michael Johnson and Devin Driscoll.
Private visitation and services were held for the family, and were under the direction of the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., Legion Street, Republic.

Mary A. Rupon
Mary Ann LaMonica Rupon, 55, of Grindstone, Pa., died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at her residence.
She was born March 11, 1946, in Newboro, Pa., a daughter of the late Patsy and Anna Tressa LaMonica.
Mary Ann was a member of St. Cecelia Roman Catholic Church of Grindstone, where she served as Eucharistic Minister, was a member of the Church Choir, and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
She was a graduate of Redstone High School, Class of 1966, had been employed as Assistant Manager of G.N.C., Uniontown Mall for over ten years, and was recently employed at Courtesy Oil of Dunbar.
Mary Ann was a member of the Sokol Lodge of Perryopolis, and the Star Junction Fish and Game Club.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Rupon, in 1982.
Surviving are her special friend, James Shaw of Perryopolis; stepchildren, Michael Rupon of Florida, Robert Rupon of Virginia, and Russell Rupon of New Jersey; several stepgrandchildren; sisters, Rita Groves of Republic, and Lou Ann Tiberi of Keisterville; and brothers, John C. LaMonica of Weaverville, N.C., and Phillip LaMonica of Republic.
Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., Legion Street, Republic, today from 1 to 9 p.m., and on Monday until 10:30 a.m., when a prayer service will be held. A Funeral Mass follows at 11 a.m., in St. Cecelia Church, Grindstone, with the Rev. Fr. John Sedlak as celebrant. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park. A Parish Wake Service will be held today at 2 p.m., the Sokol Lodge will have readings today at 6 p.m., and the Partner Parish Rosary will be recited today at 7:30 p.m.
