Kathryn A. Legge
December 24, 1927 - March 8, 2002
Kathryn A. Legge, 74, of 75 Rose Drive, Reinholds, Lancaster County, formerly of Hazleton, PA, and Lindenhurst, NY, died in her residence Friday morning at 11:00 AM under the care of Hospice of Lancaster County. Born in Queens, New York, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Haewecker) Dittrich. Her husband, Marvin H. Legge, died March 14, 1997. She was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Ephrata, Lancaster County, and a former member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Lindenhurst, NY. She belonged to the Christian Mothers. She was a 1946 graduate of Bishop McDonnell High School in Queens, New York. Kathryn was a tax adjustor with the Internal Revenue Service in Lindenhurst and had been employed later by Diesroth’s Department Store and Caldwell Supply Company, both of Hazleton. She was an avid bowler and golfer and loved shopping. Surviving is a daughter, Susan M., marriage to Ronald R. Grant, Reinholds, PA; 5 sons, Stephen M., marriage to Michele (Tarantino) Legge, Toms River, NJ; Robert H., marriage to Anita (Ottiaviani) Legge, Mountain Top, PA; Matthew J., marriage to Joan (Kopachy) Legge, Freeland, PA; Christopher J., marriage to Kathleen (Vassalo) Legge, Palm Harbor, FL; and Kenneth W., marriage to Diane (Colamussi) Legge, Lake Grove, NY; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joseph Dittrich, Dallas, TX. Two grandchildren, Gina Legge and Jarred Borst, preceded her in death.
Kathryn's viewing will be held on Sunday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM from our funeral parlor with recitation of prayers at 7:30 PM. Friends may also call at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Church & Pine Streets, Ephrata, on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Private inurnment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
Flowers will be received or you may remember Kathryn with contributions to The American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.

Mary G. Lehman
November 7, 1904 - January 30, 2006
Mary G. Lehman, 101, formerly of Ephrata and Reamstown, Lancaster County, died Monday, January 30, 2006, at 11:06 PM in Ephrata Manor where she resided since 1993. Born November 7, 1904, in East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late John S. and Minnie (Leisey) Good. Her husband, Robert G. Lehman, died January 18, 1968. A member of Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church, Reamstown, she enjoyed gardening, attending polo matches and playing cards. Surviving is a brother, William L. Good, Reamstown; 2 nieces and a nephew. Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Florence (Good) St. Clair, and 3 brothers, Harry L. Good, Walter L. Good, and Raymond L. Wade.
A viewing will be held on Friday, February 3, 2006, from Noon to 1:00 PM at our funeral home. Services will begin at 1:00 PM from our parlors, with her pastor, The Rev. Stephen E. Hollinger, officiating..
Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Shillington, Berks County.

J. Stanley Leid
December 17, 1910 - September 3, 2003
J. Stanley Leid, 92, of 158 Terrace Gardens, Manheim, Lancaster County, formerly of East Cocalico Township, died Wednesday morning at 5:33 AM in Lancaster General Hospital where he was a patient since Sunday. He has been a resident of Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, since August 1996. Born in East Cocalico Township, he was a son of the late Alfred H. and Hannah (Harting) Leid, and was the husband of Arwilda M. (Haldeman) Leid for 70 years on November 24, 2002. He was an active member of Muddy Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church, Denver, where he was a past council member, superintendent of the Sunday School, Sunday School teacher and choir member. Leid was self-employed for 21 years as a poultry farmer and was last employed as a custodian for the Ephrata National Bank, retiring in 1987. Surviving in addition to his wife are 4 daughters, Shirley L. (Leid), marriage to Harold E. Weinhold, Denver, PA; Lucille M. (Leid), marriage to Charles W. Hartranft, Ephrata, PA; Peggy A. Leid, Ephrata, PA; and Carolyn M. (Leid), marriage to Robert A. Kramer, Denver, PA; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Henry H. Leid, a resident of Denver Nursing Home, Stevens, PA. He was predeceased by 2 sisters, Phoebe Leid and Katie Lied; and 6 brothers, William, Webster, Harting, Alfred, and Mahlon Leid, and John Bensing
Sunday, September 7, 2003: 2:00 to 3:00 PM Chapel at Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 North Penryn Road, Manheim, PA 17545.
7:00 to 9:00 PM from our parlors at Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Inc.
Monday, September 8, 2003: 9:00 to 10:00 AM from Muddy Creek Lutheran Church, 11 South Muddy Creek Road, Denver, PA 17517.
The funeral will be held on Monday, September 8, 2003, at 10:00 AM from Muddy Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church, 11 South Muddy Creek Road, Denver, PA 17517, with The Reverend Joyce A. Seip and The Reverend Paul F. Keefer officiating. Interment will follow in Muddy Creek Cemetery, across from the church.

M. May Leininger
February 19, 1912 - June 1, 2004
M. May Leininger, 92, of 23 Ray Drive, Denver, Lancaster County, formerly of Montrose Manor, Reading, died Tuesday at 6:00 PM in Reading Hospital & Medical Center, West Reading, where she was a patient for the past 2 weeks. Born in Mohnton, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Susan L. (Schonour) Germann. Her husband, Morris L. Leininger, died February 14, 1999. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Gouglersville. May had been employed for many years as a seamstress, last working for the former Rachman’s Manufacturing, Reading. She was a member of the Elderberries Senior Group of Peace U.C.C., Swartzville, and enjoyed sewing, knitting and taking walks. Surviving is a son, William M., marriage to Kathleen L. (Roland) Leininger, Denver, PA; 4 grandchildren; and a brother, Robert, marriage to Mildred (Ravel) Germann, Sinking Spring, PA.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2004, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM from our parlors. The service celebrating May's life will be held on Monday morning, June 7, 2004, at 10:00 AM from our funeral home with The Reverend John P. Minnich officiating. Burial will follow in Wyomissing Cemetery, Gouglersville, Cumru Township, Berks County, PA. Elisabeth H. Lesher
May 29, 1921 - August 12, 2004
Elisabeth H. Lesher, 83, of Spring Township, Berks County, died Thursday morning at 11:40 AM in ManorCare of Sinking Spring, Berks County, where she resided since June 2, 2004. Born in Wyomissing, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Otto and Flora Hedwig (Unger) Christen. Her husband, John E. Lesher, died September 6, 1998. She had been a member of St. Paul ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Adamstown, for many years. Elisabeth was an avid lover of animals of all kinds. Surviving is a son, Jesse Alan, marriage to Kathleen D. (Fink) Lesher, Sinking Spring, PA ; 2 granddaughters; and a sister, Evelyn (Christen) Groomer, Wasilla, Alaska. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Christen.
A viewing will be held on Monday, August 16, 2004, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM from our parlors. The service celebrating Elisabeth's life will begin at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Wyomissing Cemetery, Cumru Township, Berks County, PA.

Joffre Anthony Lewis
October 11, 1918 - November 28, 2004
Joffre A. Lewis, 86, of 18 Silver Spring Road, Short Hills, Essex County, NJ, died Sunday evening, November 28, 2004, in the Denver Nursing Home, Stevens, Lancaster County, PA, where he we a guest since October 22. Born in Newark, NJ, he was a son of the late Anthony and Olive (Magee) Lewis, and was the husband of Frances P. (Vitella) Lewis. He was employed for over 25 years by the State of New Jersey as Deputy Director of Construction. A graduate of Columbia High School, South Orange, NJ, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY, he was trained as a civil engineer. Lewis was a captain in the Army during World War II. Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 sons, Joffre P. Lewis, Reading, PA, an employee of Ephrata Community Hospital ; Gregory D. Lewis, South Orange, NJ ; a daughter, Priscilla (Lewis) Rae, Hollywood, FL ; 4 grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Ruth D’Alessandro, Marietta, GA ; and Shirley Schragl, Boonesville, Mississippi.
There are no services planned for Mr. Lewis at this time.

Ethel M. Wike Lied
Oct. 23, 1913 - June 22, 2001
Ethel M. Wike Lied, 87, formerly of 17 N. Reamstown Road, Reamstown, Lancaster County, died Friday afternoon at 1:40 PM of complications with Alzheimer’s Disease in ManorCare Health Services, 100 Abbeyville Road, Lancaster, where she resided the past 10 years. Born in Lititz, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Harry H. and Alice (Whitcraft) Wike. Her husband, D. Webster Lied, died July 28, 1996. A 1931 graduate of Lititz High School, Ethel worked many years as a bank teller in Lititz and Lancaster. She was also an administrative assistant for Mel Horst, Witmer, Lancaster County, in his various business enterprises. She and her husband owned and operated Lied’s Gun Shop, Reamstown, from 1951 until moving to the nursing home. They also had continued a family business founded by her father, Wike’s Cough Drops, formerly of Lititz. Mrs. Lied was a former president of the Ephrata Community Hospital Auxillary, and was instrumental in creating the June Fete, an annual fund raiser that continues to this day. She was also a former president of the Home & School Association of the Ephrata School District. Ethel enjoyed reading, gardening and working in her yard. Surviving are 2 daughters, Sally A. Lied, Harrisburg; and Julie Lied Morrow, Reamstown. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Laura Delp & Ruth Garner, and 3 brothers, Lester, Monroe and Granville Wike.
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday at 7:30 PM from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Inc. of Reamstown. There will be no viewing, however, the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Private inurnment in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Township, Berks County, PA.
