Evelyn S. Carlson, 91, of Scott Street, Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, died Sept. 12 at Summit Health Care Center, Wilkes-Barre.

Surviving are her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services were conducted at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were by the McLaughlin Funeral Service.

Catherine (Baglioni) Duris, 76, of Williams Street, Dallas, formerly of Luzerne, died Monday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.Born in Luzerne, she was a daughter of the late Marsilio and Clara (Fox) Baglioni. She attended Luzerne schools. She was a member of Bennett Presbyterian Church, Luzerne, a Sunday school teacher and was active with the choir.

Filler, Mary

Mary (Banyar) Filler, 85, of Owen Street, Swoyersville, died Monday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born Sept. 23, 1914, in Swoyersville, she was a daughter of the late John and Julia (Swets) Banyar. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Swoyersville, the Altar and Rosary Society and Christian Mothers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen; and brothers, John and Daniel.

Surviving are her daughter, Beth Ann, Swoyersville; son, Dr. Joseph, Kingston Township; sisters, Julia Kocik and Betty Chacko, both of Swoyersville; Helen Kikla, Pittsburgh; and Ann Sakulak, New Jersey; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Church, Swoyersville. The Confraternity of Christian Mothers will form an honor guard at the church. Interment will be in the parish Cemetery, Swoyersville. Funeral arrangements are by the Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Joyce, Megan

Megan Joyce, 17, of Hope Street, Avoca, formerly of Pittston, died Saturday at Community Medical Center, Scranton.Born June 23, 1983, in Kingston, she was a daughter of Thomas and Robyn (Wheeler) Joyce. She was a senior at Pittston Area High School, where she was a diving team member, drama club member and musician in the stage band chorus. She was a member of the National Honor Society and St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Pittston, where she was an altar server.

Jabaley, Bessie

Bessie Jabaley, 75, of Copperhill, Tenn., died Sept. 5 at her home.

She was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, Copperhill.

Surviving are her husband, William Patrick Sr., Copperhill; sons, John Thomas, Frederick, Md.; William Patrick Jr., Powder Springs, Ga.; Howard Lawrence, Copperhill; and Paul Anthony, Augusta, Ga.; daughters, Norma Jean Pittman, Jasper, Ga.; and Margaret Mary VanBuren, Snellville, Ga.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Sarah Thomas, Wilkes-Barre; and Rose El-Khouri, Andrews, N.C.; and brother, Joe Isaac, McCaysville, Ga.

A funeral Mass was held Sept. 7 from St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, with the Rev. Paul Hostettler officiating. Interment followed in the Epworth First Baptist Church Cemetery, Epworth, Ga. Memorial donations may be made to Monastery Little Citeaux, 9 McGee Road, Copperhill, Tenn. 37317.

Kadluboski, Sandy

Sandy A. Kadluboski, 46, of East Liberty Street, Newtown section of Hanover Township, died Saturday at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.Born June 1, 1954, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of Alexander B. and Jule (Balutis) Kadluboski, of Wilkes-Barre. She was a 1972 graduate of Hanover Area High School and received a bachelor's degree in psychology and bachelor's degree in nursing from Wilkes University. She worked at Atwater Throwing Co., Wilkes-Barre and Plymouth, and was a registered nurse for the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains Township.

Lello, Rose
Sept. 18, 2000
Rose M. Lello, of Lincoln Street, Dupont, died Monday at Heritage House VNA, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Dupont, she was the daughter of the late Biagio and Giovanna Ruzzo (Roots). She was a 1933 graduate of Pittston High School. She operated a family grocery store in Dupont and worked at La Salle Manufacturing, Pittston. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Pittston, and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Patrick.

Surviving are her husband, Louis J., at home; daughters, Celestine Manganaro, Endwell, N.Y.; and Jeanine Williamson, Bear Creek; and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Thursday from the Adonizio Funeral Home Inc., 251 William St., Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will be in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Family and friends may go directly to the church until the Mass.

Lloyd, Lenoro

Lenoro H. Lloyd, of North Grant Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday shortly after admission to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born Dec. 4, 1952, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of Irene (Halicki) Hando and the late James A. Hando. She was a 1970 graduate of GAR High School. She was an administrative assistant for the Luzerne County Bureau of Aging. She was a member of St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Hando; and sisters, Arlene Figel and Justine Mazewski.

Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband of 26 years, David; brothers, James and Charles Hando, both of Wilkes-Barre; David Hando, Kingston; and Dennis Hando, Harding; sisters, Tessie Stackonis, Antoinette Starzecki and Paulet Reilly, all of Wilkes-Barre; and Pat Trapenese, Mountaintop; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Walter W. Lisman and Son Funeral Home, 233 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Church. A Final Blessing Service will he held after the Mass in Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and may join the family in St. Nicholas Church for Mass on Wednesday. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

McDonnell, Violet Ann

Violet Ann McDonnell, 94, of Esther Street, Pittston, died Monday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born June 19, 1906, in Duryea, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Christina (White) Kramer. She was a Duryea High School graduate. She was a bookkeeper in the Pittston City Treasurer's office. She was a member of St. Mary Help of Christian Church, Pittston, and its Altar and Rosary Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; and sisters, Evelyn Anderson and Esther Plows.

Surviving are her daughter, Sister Ann Marie, IHM, Pittston; son, Patrick, Laflin; four grandchildren, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Thursday from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home, Inc., 204 Main St., Duryea, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Help of Christian Church. Interment will be in the parish Cemetery, Pittston. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial donations may be made to the IHM Sisters Retirement Fund, Immaculate Heart of Mary Center, Scranton.

Genevieve Rizzo, 77, of 13th Avenue, Greeley, Colo., formerly of Ralph Lane, Greenwood section of Moosic, died Sunday at the Bonnell Good Samaritan Center, Greeley.

Born Jan. 2, 1923, in the Greenwood section of Moosic, she was a daughter of the late Valentine and Camilla (Rogalesky) Davidoski. She attended Moosic schools. She was a member of St. Maty's Church, Greeley, and St. Mary's Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church, Greenwood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dominick; and daughter, Mary Ann.

Surviving are her son, Joseph, Greeley; two grandchildren; brother, Zigmund Davidoski, Moosic; sister, Regina Ondrasik, Palmerton; and ~several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in the parish Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Rogers, Joseph

Joseph F. Rogers, of Hillside Road, Shavertown, formerly of Kingston, died Sunday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.Born July 15, 1925, in Hughestown, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Zielinski) Kasulis. He was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Business College. He was a purchasing agent for Friedman's Express. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Okinawa with the aviation engineers. He also served in the National Guard in the 109th Field Artillery after the war. He was a member of St. Mary's Annunciation Church, Kingston.

Spaide, Gertrude

Gertrude E. Spaide, 89, formerly of Brook Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday at Davis Manor, Wright Township.

Born Dec. 15, 1910, in Slocum Township, she was a daughter of the late Calvin and Lulu (Grady) Fink. She worked for F.W. Woolworth, Wilkes-Barre, and was a floor supervisor in the garment industry. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Wilkes-Barre.

She was preceded in death by her husband, G. Donald.

Surviving are one niece and one nephew.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday from the McCune Funeral Home, 80 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountaintop, with the Rev. Frank S. Deming Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until service time Thursday.

Sweeney, Isabel

Isabel M. Sweeney, 93, of East Elm Street, Hazleton, died Monday at Mercy Center, Dallas, where she was a resident since last November.

Born in Ebervale, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Carr) O'Donnell. She was a graduate of Hazle Township High School and Bloomsburg University, where she received a degree in education. She taught in Nuremberg and Ebervale schools and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Gabriel's Church, Hazleton, volunteered at the church and its school and was a life member of its Women's Guild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cyril; son, Joseph; sisters, Anna McNelis and Margaret Nash; and brother, Peter O'Donnell.

Surviving are her sons, James, Reading; and Timothy, Lewisburg; daughters, Mary Theresa, Exton; Sister Sara O'Donnell, RSM, Forty Fort; Isabel, Hazleton; and Rose, Hazleton; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Sadie O'Donnell and Catherine Clague, both of Mercy Center, Dallas; and Mary Dill, Bloomsburg.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday from the Joseph B. Conahan Funeral Home, 532 N. Vine St., Hazleton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gabriel's Church. Interment will follow in the parish Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Sisters of Mercy, P.O. Box 369, Dallas, 18612 .

Wisneski, Catherine
Sept. 17, 2000
Catherine P. Wisneski, formerly of Falls and Susquehanna Apartments, Tunkhannock, died Sunday at Villa Teresa, Harrisburg.Born April 30, 1915, in Nanticoke, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Victoria (Kaminski) Burke (Berk~).~ She worked at the Falls Dress Factory. She was a member of the Church of Nativity BVM, Tunkhannock.

Danoff, Harry
Sept. 19, 2000

Harry Danoff, 76, of 22 Garman Street, Buttonwood, died Tuesday morning at home.

Born Nov. 16, 1923, in the home he lived all his life, he was the son of the late Ben and Ida (Lakin) Danoff.

A graduate of Wyoming Seminary Business School and Hanover High School, he was a co-founder of Danoff's Sporting Goods.

He served in the infantry during World War II, and was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. He received the infantry combat badge and a purple heart.

He was a member of An Shei Emes Synagogue and the Jewish War Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey; daughter, Jill, and sister, Ethel.

Surviving are his wife, Jane; son, Bruce; brother, Milton (Mickey); sister, Ruth Yudkovitz, and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, 348 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre. The family will observe shiva from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday through Monday, at the family residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

Decker, Albert
September 23, 2000
Albert G. Decker, of Main Street, Plains Township, died Saturday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born June 15, 1925, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late George and Louise Decker. He was a graduate of GAR Memorial High School, class of 1943.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. He was associated with his brothers Peter and Edmund at Deckers' Service Station, South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre, and was also employed at Eberhard Faber, Mountaintop, before retiring. He was a member of St. Anthony's Maronite Church, Wilkes-Barre.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Peter G. and Dr. Raymond G. Decker.

Surviving are his wife, Marie Bartosavage; children, Cynthia Decker Raynak, State College; Amy Decker, Havertown; Albert G. Decker Jr., Raritan, N.J.; brother, Edmund Decker, Wilkes-Barre; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service Corp., 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, with Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony's Maronite Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
