Dorothy Antolik, formerly of New Elizabeth Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Tuesday at Hospice Care of the VNA Inpatient Unit at Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.

Born April 18, 1920, in Alden Station, she was the daughter of the late Harry G. and Minnie E. (Gillinger) Morgan. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George.

Surviving are her sons, George L. and Mark S., both of Wilkes-Barre; and three grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Frederick & Snowdon Funeral Home, 617 Carey Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Wes Poole officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening.

Eva (Hearilla) Burayak, 96, of City Avenue, Philadelphia, died Thursday at her residence.Funeral arrangements are pending from the Simon S. Russin Funeral Home, Inc., 136 Maffett St., Plains Township.

Demidchik, William

William Demidchik, 89, of Moosic, died Wednesday at Mercy Hospital, Scranton.Born Feb. 2, 1911, in Lutz, Russia, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Demidchik. He was a graduate of the former Moosic High School and a 1934 graduate of Carnegie Technical School, Pittsburgh. He was an engineer for Pittsburgh Steel.

Felici, Norma

Norma Felici, a resident of Mountain City Home, Hazleton, formerly of Nanticoke, died at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hazleton.Born in Sociville, Province of Siena, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Alfredo and Fanny Rabissi. She attended schools in Italy. She was a member of St. Francis Church, Nanticoke.

Fedock, Andrew
Sept. 21, 2000
Andrew Fedock, of Hazle Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Thursday at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Warrior Run, son of the late Metro and Mary (Hrinko) Fedock. He attended Warrior Run schools. He was a cabinet maker at Nardell Manufacturing Co., Wilkes-Barre. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Holy Resurrection Ukrainian Catholic Church, Nanticoke, and Post 176 American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Peter; sisters, Mary Hovick, Anna and Helen Kotchan.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, the former Melanie Hadzega; son, John, Ashley; nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday from the Mary A. Harostock Funeral Home, 480 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church, Hanover Township.

Edward C. "Charley" Gensel, 39, of East Center Street, Shavertown section of Kingston Township, died Wednesday at the Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Dallas Township.

Helfrich, 87, of Owen Street, Swoyersville, formerly of Easton and Allentown, died Thursday at Highland Manor Nursing and Convalescent Center, Exeter, where she was a resident.Born in Plymouth, she was a daughter of the late John and Beatrice Picton. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School, Plymouth, and West Chester College, where she received a teaching degree. She was a 5th-grade school teacher at the Palmer Elementary School, Palmer Township. She was a member of Wyoming Avenue Christian Church, Kingston.

Kondraski, 81, of Main Street, Sugar Notch, died Thursday at Davis Manor, Mountaintop, Wright Township.Born Feb. 21, 1919, in Ashley, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Barbara (Loya) Smith. She attended the Ashley schools. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Ashley-Hanover Township.

Anna Moniak, 71, of Mill Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Wednesday at East Mountain Manor, Plains Township.Born in Plains Township, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Bayus) Kus. She was a graduate of the James M. Coughlin Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre. She was a secretary in Wilkes-Barre. She was a member of St. Mary of the Dormition Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre, Altar and Rosary Society and the St. Nicholas Apostolate at church, Third Order of St. Francis, St. Joseph Fraternity and the Secular Franciscan Order.

Peter P. Pulieri, 78, of Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, died Tuesday at his home.Born Feb. 17, 1922, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Joseph and Emmaculata (Morganti) Pulieri. He attended Wilkes-Barre schools and was a graduate of GAR High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Eva Suseck, 92, of Maltby Avenue, Swoyersville, died Thursday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.Born Feb. 19, 1908, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Lazorick) Romanchick. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Swoyersville, and the Kingston Business Women's Association.

Frank Thornton, Deacon

Deacon Frank E. Thornton, 73, of North Sherman Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Monday at the Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.Born Dec. 31, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of the late Washington and Julia Thornton. He was a 1945 graduate of GAR High School and attended Wilkes-Barre Business College. He was a welder for Intermetro Wire, Wilkes-Barre. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Wilkes-Barre, where he was ordained as a deacon. He was also a member of the church choir and active in the Hospital Ministry.

Arale, Irene

Irene E. Arale, 87, formerly of Crescent Road, Forest Park, Bear Creek, and with her daughter in Florida, died Monday at the Bayview Nursing Pavilion, Clearwater, Fla.

Born in the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Anna (Mikiewicz) Polinski. She was a member of St. Elizabeth's Church, Bear Creek.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph.

Surviving are her daughters, Lorraine Meneleey, Palm Harbor, Fla.; and Camille Cerwonka, New Port Richey, Fla.; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great great-grandson; and sisters, Josephine Pillion, Middlebush, N.J.; and Dolores Polinski, Wilkes-Barre.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Mark V. Yanaitis Funeral Home, 55 Stark St., Plains Township, with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Cavanaugh, Helen

Helen C. Cavanaugh, 94, of Roselle Park, N.J., formerly of Manhattan Street, Ashley, died Monday at the Overlook Hospital, New Jersey.

Born June 3, 1906, in Ashley, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Helen (Clarke) Cavanaugh. She served in the WACs during World War II as a nurse, stationed at Deshan Hospital, Butler. She was a medical technician in the 13th WAC Hospital in Fort Dix, N.J. She was a member of St. Leo's Church, Ashley, and the Neighborhood Senior Citizen's Association.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Kathryn Corcoran, Mae Conway, Florence Gallagher and Rita Yates; and brothers, Michael, Edward, John, Leonard, Patrick, Gerald and Joseph.

Surviving are her brother, James, Lee Park section of Hanover Township; and 111 nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from the George A. Strish, Inc., Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Leo's Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Dalesandro, Joseph

Joseph Dalesandro, 75, of Bear Creek, formerly of Schuyler Drive, Edison, N.J., died Aug. 31 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township, of cancer.

He was born July 17, 1925, in Girardville. He was a quality control inspector of Johns Manville, Manville, N.J. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Bernadette; son, Edward, Edison; daughters, Grace Anne McGoldrick, Bear Creek, who resided with him; Marie Markey, South Plainfield, N.J.; and Marianne Gable, Virginia Beach, Va.; nine grandchildren, including Jeffrey and Danielle McGoldrick, who resided with him, four great-grandchildren; brothers, Dominick D'Allessandro, Raven Run; and Arthur Durante, Utah; and sister, Antoinette Bigos, East Brunswick, N.J.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Dupont. Memorial donations may be made to the Henry Cancer Center of Wyoming Valley, 100 E. Mountain Blvd., Wilkes-Barre, 18702.

DeMarko, Paul
Sept. 25, 2000
Paul A. "Bunny" DeMarko, 66, of Holden Street, West Wyoming, died Monday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Kingston, he was a son of the late Samuel T. and Pauline (Orlando) DeMarko. He was a graduate of West Wyoming High School and the Wyoming Seminary Evening Program with a degree in accounting. He was an accountant for the DelBalso Ford Co. and held a notary public title. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Notary Public Club, Korean War Veterans Organization, American Legion Post 904 and Our Lady of Sorrows Church, both of West Wyoming, its Holy Name Society and Ushers Club, and the Four Poplars Hunting Club, Dushore. He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Wilkes-Barre Chapter, and president of the Italian American Association of Luzerne County and the Italian Milochessi Society.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Paul, Jr.; infant twin brother and sister, Paul and Carmella.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, the former Dorothy Vroblefski; daughters, Diane, Laflin; and Debra VanAuken, Exeter; two grandchildren; sister, Mary Farano, Wyoming; one niece and one nephew.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Frank A. Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton section of Kingston Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Hochreiter, Frank

Frank Hochreiter, 62, of Rutter Avenue, Forty Fort, died Tuesday at the Mercy Hospice Inpatient Unit, Scranton.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of Florence (Barteck) Hochreiter and the late Frank G. Hochreiter. He was a 1956 graduate of St. Nicholas High School, Wilkes-Barre, and graduate of ICS School, Scranton, and College of Advanced Traffic, Philadelphia. He was an inspector for the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Rides and Measurements Standards. He was a sergeant first class in the 40 2nd Military Police Reserves for 21 years. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, Eucharistic minister and secretary of Holy Name, member of the Building and Grounds Committee, the Forty Fort Fire Department, serving as a fire policeman, was president of Forty Fort Firemen's Relief Association, chairman of Forty Fort Zoning Hearing Board and member of Knights of Columbus Assumpta Council 3987 and Our Lady of Czestochowa, both of Luzerne.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Mark.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, the former Irene Litwin; daughter, Susan Pellegrino, Whitehall; and brother, Chaplain Lt. Col. U.S. Air Force, Robert, San Antonio.

The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc., 568 Bennett St., Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at Holy Family Parish in St. Ann's Church, Luzerne. The Rev. Robert Hochreiter and Rev. Robert Arnold will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton section of Kingston Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Knights of Columbus Assumpta Council 3987 will recite the Rosary Friday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mercy Hospice Inpatient Unit, 746 Jefferson Ave., Scranton, 18501.

James W. Jones, 84, of Tulip Road, Harveys Lake, formerly of Beachwood, N.J., died Tuesday at his home.Born in Plymouth, he was a son of the late William Q. and Susanna (Evans) Jones. He was a graduate of Plymouth High School and attended Wilkes College. He was a laboratory technician for Ciba-Geigy, Toms River, N.J. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Church, Dallas, American Legion Post 463 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1425, both of Plymouth.

Levisky, Mary

Mary B. Levisky, 94, of Pine Street, Meadville, formerly of Swoyersville, died Sept. 12 at Beverly Health Care, Meadville.

Born Dec. 28, 1905, in Grassflat, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Mokrys) Lash. She was a member of St. Brigid's Roman Catholic Church, Meadville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew M.; brothers, John, Edward, Mike and Joseph Lash; and sisters, Catherine Lash and Anna Pesarchick.

Surviving are her sisters, Margaret Andrejewski, Larksville; Elizabeth Hoover, DuBois; brother, Stephen Lash, Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Sept. 14 at St. Brigid's Church. Interment was in the parish Cemetery, West Mead Township. Funeral arrangements were by the Byham-Miller-Mizner Funeral Home, Inc., Meadville.

Matrone, Lottie

Lottie Matrone, 82, of Lackawanna Avenue, Duryea, died Tuesday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Duryea, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Estelle (Segera) Misorek. She was a graduate of Duryea High School. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Duryea, its Confraternity Christian Mothers, the Polka Lights, Dupont, and the Big Band Society.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Misorek; and sister, Mary Swantkowski.

Surviving are her husband of 60 years, George; son, Alphonse, Clarks Summit; daughter, Deborah Bardar, Duryea; two grandsons, nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home, Inc., 204 Main St., Duryea, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church. Interment will be in the parish Cemetery, Duryea. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. The Confraternity of Christian Women will recite the Rosary at 7 p.m. Friday.
