Kathryn Louise Peck died Feb. 14, 2001, in Osceola Regional Medical Center, Kissimmee, Fla. Formerly Kathy Henry, she was born Dec. 8, 1950 in Williamsport. She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1968 & W.A.C.C. in 1970, with an Associate Degree in Accounting. She was employed for many years by Flairs Clothing Store. She and her husband Denny were owners of Pecks Carpet Cleaning & Janitorial Services, prior to moving to Orlando, Fla., in 1992. They would have celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary May 30th. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She is survived by husband Dennis L. Peck, a daughter Jennifer, parents Bob and Nancy Henry, grandmother Gertrude Henry. A private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.

Jasmine I. Barnhart
Jasmine Isabella Barnhart, infant daughter of Thomas E. and JoAnn A. Campbell Barnhart of Montgomery, was born and died Feb. 15, 2001 at Williamsport Hospital. Jasmine and her family are members of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, Hepburnville. In addition to her parents, she is survived by 7 sisters, Stephanie A., Janel A., Heidi E., Tabitha M., Kimber M., Makiah J., Laken A. Barnhart, all at home; one brother Nephi T. Barnhart at home; maternal grandparents Alvin H. Jr. and Carlene Campbell, of Huntersville; maternal great grandmother Velma Divine of N.J.; and paternal grandmother Carolyn Barnhart of Montgomery. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Mon. Feb. 19, 2001, at Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 N. Main St., Muncy, with Victor Weber, First Councilor of the Bishopric of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints presiding. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Montgomery.

Nellie V. Drum
Nellie V. Drum, 96, of Nisbet died Feb. 17, 2001, at Sycamore Manor following a brief illness. She was the widow of Walter C. Drum. She had worked as a seamstress for several area garment factories. She was a member of the Nisbet United Methodist Church for over 60 years where she was a former Sunday School teacher, Treasurer and board member. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Born March 14, 1904 in Millsboro, Pa., she was a daughter of Robert G. and Olive M. Yoder Hamilton. Surviving are two sons, Fred H. Oakes, Nisbet; Peter W. Drum, South Williamsport; a daughter, Clementine M. Steinbacher, LaPlume, Pa.; 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. Funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday, Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave. Internment will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday. The family will provide the flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Nisbet United Methodist Church, 135 Summer St., South Williamsport, Pa., 17702.

Diane L. Gotschal
Diane L. Gotschal, age 51, of RR3 Wellsboro, died Feb. 16, 2001, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro. She was the wife of Perry R. Gotschal whom she married April 14, 1973. She was born May 9, 1949, in Bethlehem, the daughter of Rhonda Smith Furry and the late Gerald Furry. She was a graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1967, Bethlehem, graduate of Bloomsburg University, with a BS in Secondary Education. She worked for Mergenthaler– Linotype and Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service, both of Wellsboro and was currently employed by Tri-County Electric, Mansfield. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Wellsboro, where she was very active in many church activities, and was on the Board of Directors for Big Brother/Big Sister of Tioga County. Surviving are her husband, Perry R. Gotschal; daughter, Ann Gotschal of Wellsboro; son, Jesse Gotschal of Oak Harbor, Wash.; mother, Rhonda Furry of Bethlehem; mother-in-law, Sarah Gotschal of Bloomsburg; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Ruth Gotschal of Bloomsburg and Allen Gotschal of Hughesville; sister-in-law, Marie Singley of Bloomsburg; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the First Baptist Church, 25 Central Ave., Wellsboro on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001 from 6–8 p.m. Funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. John McNassor officiating. If desired, Memorials may be made to Big Brother/Big Sister of Tioga County, c/o Rev. John McNassor, 25 Central Ave., Wellsboro, Pa., 16901.

Maximillian Wetter
February 16, 2001. Maximillian “Max” J. Wetter, 83, formerly of Scranton, died Friday at the home of his daughter, Judy Myers, Williamsport. His wife the former Claire Jayne Schmidt died June 18, 1987. Born in Scranton, he was a son of George N. and Charlotte Phillips Wetter. Also surviving, two additional daughters, Maxine Schwartz, Franklin Lakes, N.J., Ethel Nealis, Dickson City, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandsons, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in Scranton at the convenience of the family.

Helen J. Hinaman
Helen J. Hinaman, 85, of 705 Hepburn St., Williamsport died Saturday February 17, 2001 at home. She was preceded in death by her husband, A. W. Hinaman, in 1964. Born November 20, 1915, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Addeson P. and Lucy Henderson Paulhamus. Surviving are a daughter Betty Sciutto of Allenwood, a son Edwin P. Jonas of Pleasant Mount, 4 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, 5 great grandsons, 10 great granddaughters, and 2 great great granddaughters, and two sisters, Minnie Ulmer, and Evelyn Stryker both of Williamsport. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Frances Forshaw and Dorothy Orso, and a brother Donald Paulhamus. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Helen’s memory may be sent to Betty Sciutto, RD #1 Allenwood, PA 17810.

Dorothy B. Pophal
Dorothy B. Pophal, 79, of 90 West Ave., Brockport, N.Y., formerly of Williamsport, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, in Lakeland Regional Medical Center after a brief illness while visiting her sister in Lakeland, FL. Her husband of 51 years, Dr. Mahlon J. Pophal, died March 5, 1997. She was a member of Trinity U. M. Church and the Williamsport Hospital Auxiliary. A 1943 graduate of the former Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing, she became a Registered Nurse. After working as an RN at the Williamsport Hospital, she became a homemaker, focusing her attention on raising her four sons. She worked as a volunteer at the Williamsport Hospital, worked with Hospice and was a driver for Meals on Wheels. Her hobbies included pottery, ceramics and tole painting. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family. Born Dec. 8, 1921, in Clearfield, she was a daughter of Charles P. and Marie Fisher Barger. Surviving are her sons, Richard C. and his wife, Jackie, and their sons, Colby and Bryce of Cogan Station; Steven E. and his wife, Nayda, of Williamsburg, VA; Thomas S. and his wife, Bobbi, and their sons, Tyler and Colin of Williamsport and Donald W. and his companion, Mary Ellen Warner of Brockport, NY; and one sister, Mildred Werkheiser of Lakeland FL. Predeceasing her were two brothers: Jack and Robert Barger. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, February 24th, 2 p.m., at Trinity U. M. Church, 1971 Lycoming Creek Road, with Rev. Melvin D. Bole, her pastor, officiating. Internment will be at the convenience of the family in Wildwood Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Kathryn M. Grafius
Kathryn M. Grafius, 78, of 1063 Hepburn St., Williamsport, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at Valley View Nursing Center, Montoursville. Her husband, William James Grafius, died Feb. 25, 1973. Born September 13, 1922 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Warren B. and Florence E. Sheatz Guinter. She retired from GTE Sylvania, Montoursville in 1984. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a social member of Lycoming Voiture 382 40 et 8. Surviving are a son, James W. of Edwardsville; 2 daughters, Linda K French and Guila L. Ocker, both of the city; 4 grandchildren, Eric French, Shelley Bamonte, Chris Ferguson & James Ocker; 4 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert E. Guinter of Montoursville; a sister, Eleanor J. Campbell of Camp Hill; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Crouse’s, 133 E. Third St., with the Rev. Allen H. Goss, her pastor officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in Montoursville Cemetery.

Helen J. Hinaman
Helen J. Hinaman, 85, of 705 Hepburn St., Williamsport died Saturday February 17, 2001 at home. She was preceded in death by her husband, A. W. Hinaman, in 1964. Laura W. C. Cox
Laura W. Cocks Cox, 86, of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, February 18, 2001, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro. Born April 4, 1914, in Maplewood, NJ, she was the daughter of Dr. Orrin G. and Evelyn O’Laughlin Cocks. Dr. Cocks was pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Wellsboro from 1922 to 1942. Laura graduated from the Wellsboro Area High School, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Wooster in Wooster, OH, in 1936, and earned a Master’s of Religious Education in 1937 from Hartford Theological Seminary in Hartford, CT. She married Robert F. Cox, Sr. on June 24, 1939, in Wellsboro, where they raised four children - Evelyn S. Turner of Punta Gorda, FL; Barbara C. Davison of Elverson, PA; Robert F. Cox, Jr. and David S. Cox, both of Wellsboro. Additionally, she is survived by eleven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Laura was a homemaker, a member of the Wellsboro Friday Club, past President of the Pennsylvania Association of Lawyers Wives, a deacon and elder of the First Presbyterian Church, where she also taught Sunday School and was a former Director of Youth Activities, and a member of the Ministerial Relations Committee of Northumberland Presbytery. The family will receive friends at the Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church, Wellsboro, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21st. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 22, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Wellsboro, with the Rev. Robert K. Greer, officiating, followed by a greeting with family and friends in the Fellowship Hall. Burial will be at the Wellsboro Cemetery. Flowers will be provided by the family. If desired, memorial donations may be sent to the First Presbyterian Church, 130 Main Street, Wellsboro, PA. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, Wellsboro.

Richard E. Zuchowski
Richard “Dick” E. Zuchowski, age 55, of Wellsboro, Pa. on Monday morning, February 19th, 2001, passed away at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro. He was born on July 11th, 1945. Preceding him in death was his father and mother, Ambrose and Ethel Zuchowski and step-daughter, Connie Zuchowski Nestor. He was a Sergeant in the United States Army, stationed in Korea from 1965 to 1967. Dick was a former employee of Dresser Manufacturing and Nestor’s Service Center. He was a dedicated member of the Corey Creek Golf Club and a faithful member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Wellsboro. Surviving is his loving wife and friend, Christine Allen Zuchowski, his step-son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Judy Zuchowski; step-son and daughter-in-law, William & Cheryl Zuchowski; son-in-law, Emmett Nestor; sisters, Helen Lewis and Fran Person; brother, Ted Zuchowski; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. There will be no viewing. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 22nd, 2001, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Wellsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Byers
Elizabeth Byers, 89, of South Williamsport, PA, passed away on February 18, 2001. She was born on April 15, 1911, in New Florence, PA, the daughter of William R. and Catherine Lichenfels Isenberg. Her husband, Michael Byers, Sr., died on October 26, 1985 after 54 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister Violet Kelly, and a brother Kenneth W. Isenberg. Elizabeth graduated from Marion Center High School and Indiana Normal School. She was employed at the Williamsport Sun-Gazette for approximately ten years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Williamsport, PA for 50 years, serving on the Board of Deacons as well as teaching Sunday School classes for 44 consecutive years. As a volunteer, she was a member of the Williamsport League of Women Voters serving as Treasurer and as a volunteer aide at Sycamore Manor Health Center. For many years she delivered Meals on Wheels two days a week. Surviving are a brother, John I. Isenberg of Rochester Mills, PA, a sister, Jeanne Ralston of Ellwood City, PA, a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Shirley Byers of Syracuse, N.Y., daughters and sons-in-law, Rosalie and Roger Grigsby of Corning, N.Y., Carol and Gordon Shadle of Middletown, CT, Amy and Scott Dietrich of Wernersville, PA, and a daughter, Katie Proudfoot of Asbury, N.J., 14 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2001, at the First Presbyterian Church, 102 East Third Street, Williamsport, with her pastor, the Rev. David L. Phillips officiating. A visitation with the family will be at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in West Wheatfield Township, Indiana County, PA, at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third Street, Wmspt., PA 17701 or Alzheimer’s Association, 919 N. Martha W. Feigles
Martha W. Feigles, 68, of 405 S. Market St., Muncy, died Monday, February 19, 2001 at home. Her husband, James F. Feigles, died May 3, 1996. She was born February 26, 1932 in Muncy, the daughter of Fred S. and Martha Albright Waldron. Martha was a member of the Muncy High School class of 1950. She worked for 30 years in food service. Her past employers included the Muncy School District, the former Holiday Market, and Lantz Market. She was a member of Muncy Business & Professional Women. Surviving are 2 sons, James Edward of Hughesville and Ralph Clifton of Muncy, 1 daughter, Betty Ann Baker of Muncy and 6 grandchildren. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wallis-Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, with Rev. D. Gene Patterson, pastor of Muncy Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Muncy Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The family will provide the flowers, and suggests that memorial contributions be made to either Lycoming County S.P.C.A., 2805 Reach Rd., Williamsport, PA 17701 or Susquehanna Regional Home Health Services (Hospice), 1201 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.

Judith A. DeHotman
Judith A. DeHotman, 53, of 717 Pearl St., Williamsport, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001 in Williamsport Hospital. She was a Williamsport H.S. graduate class of 1965, and she attended Third St. U.M.C. Born Oct. 13, 1947 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Lloyd E. and Mary E. Andrews Miller. Surviving are 2 daughters, Tracie Bem of city, Kristen DeHotman at home, and 3 grandchildren, Kahlie, Kurdt, and Kainen Bem. She was predeceased by her infant son Michael and one brother. Funeral Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Sanders 821 Diamond St., with Pastor Bob Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Charles T. Steinbacher
Charles T. Steinbacher, 78, of Orangewood Apts., Levittown, formerly of Pine Crest Village, Williamsport, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, in Manor Care Nursing Home, Yardley, PA, following an extended illness. He and his wife, the former Lois S. Confair would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary Feb. 28. He worked as a produce clerk at A&P. He was a 1941 graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School, a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, the Newberry Senior Citizens at St. Johns, and the Wheel Inn. He was a charter member of LeRoy O. Buck Post 7863, as well as an Army veteran of WWII. Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, Thomas E. of Levittown; a grandson, Thomas R.; a granddaughter, Kelly Breton; 3 great grandchildren, Carissa E. Breton, Kevin M. Breton and Sebastian J. Steinbacher; 3 sisters, Ann Stopper and Teresa Myers, both of DuBoistown and Cecelia Spittle of York. Funeral services will be held at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, Wednesday at noon, with the Rev. Paul Ines officiating. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. The family will provide the flowers. Visitation 11 a.m.-noon Wednesday at the church.
