Napoleone
Josephine Napoleone, 77, of Moon Township, formerly of Coraopolis, died Monday, July 21 [2003], at her home. Mrs. Napoleone worked until her death at the family-owned business, Nappies Food Service of Oakdale, alongside her sons, Angelo and Eddie and many devoted employees. She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Coraopolis. Her interests included being a Christian Mother at St. Joseph's, an avid walker of trails and malls, and being a member of TOPS. Survivors include: one son, Edward (Judy) Napoleone of Moon Township; one daughter, Frances (Mark) Kinley of Wheeling, W.Va.; her mother, Frances DeFazio of Greensburg; one brother, Raymond (Nina) DeFazio of Greensburg; and several grandchildren. Arrangements were handled by Copeland's of Coraopolis. Burial was at Resurrection Cemetery.

Sheeler
Robert A. Sheeler, 48, of Coraopolis, died Tuesday, July 15 [2003], at his residence. Mr. Sheeler was born Feb. 22, 1955 in Pittsburgh to Louise (Ogline) Sheeler of Coraopolis and the late Robert E. Sheeler. He was a skycap for three years for Huntleigh at the Greater Pittsburgh International Airport. In addition to his mother, survivors include: one daughter, Shannon Sheeler of Ingram; one sister, Brenda O'Connell of Hopewell; his former wife, Barbara of Brentwood; two nieces and one great nephew. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements were handled by Copeland's of Coraopolis.

Smith
Francis A. 'Smitty' Smith, 86, of Moon Township, died Wednesday, July 9 [2003], at Pristine Pines. Mr. Smith was born in McKees Rocks on Aug. 31, 1916, to the late John and Agnes 'Lynnie' (Givens) Smith. He was a land developer for more than 50 years, retiring in 1990. His most familiar developments were Amherst Acres (Moon), Beaver Acres (Robinson), Independence Place (Independence), Thompson Hill (Independence), and the Smith Plan (Hanover). He served in the Airborne during World War II and was the recipient of the American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal WWII. He is survived by his wife, Joann Snyder-Smith. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Carpenter Smith, in 1995. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in his name. Arrangements were handled by Copeland's of Moon Township. Services were private.

Sister Mary Boniface
Sister Mary Boniface, Jane Chwilka, 95, died Sunday, July 27 [2003], at St. Anne Home in Greensburg, in her 79th year of religious life as a Felician Sister. Sister Boniface was a native of Carnegie, and was the daughter of the late Jacob and Louise Chwilka. She entered the Felician Sisters in 1924, made her first vows in 1926 and pronounced her final vows in 1932. Sister Boniface was prepared for the teaching ministry by attending the Pittsburgh Diocesan Normal School, Mt. Mercy (now Carlow) College and Duquesne University, where she received a bachelor of education degree. During a career in education that spanned more than 60 years, she served in elementary and secondary schools in the dioceses of Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Erie, and Steubenville, Ohio. Sister Boniface was the principal of Mother of Consolation Elementary School, Mt. Carmel (1948-1954) and Holy Trinity School, Erie (1956-1959). Sister Boniface also served the community as the Mistress of Novices for the province from 1959-1966, after which she returned to the educational ministry. Survivors include: two brothers, Casimir Chwilka and John Chwilka, both of Carnegie; two sisters, Stella Koziak of Carnegie and Virginia Marusak of McDonald; and nieces and nephews. Sister Boniface was preceded in death by brothers Walter and Anthony and sisters Sophie, Sarah and Rose. Contributions may be made to the Felician Sisters Renovation Fund, 1500 Woodcrest Ave., Coraopolis, 15108, or a charity of the donor's choice. Bajek
Angela (Mance) Bajek, 86, of Coraopolis, died Monday, July 14 [2003]. Mrs. Bajek worked for Mutual of Omaha Insurance Co. as manager of the Pittsburgh Airport Office. She retired in 1984 from that position after 27 years. Survivors include: one daughter, Michele, of Washington, D.C.; one sister, Doris; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements were handled by Anthony J. Sanvito Funeral Home in Coraopolis.

Gray
Delores H. Gray, 80, of Rochester, formerly of Coraopolis, died Friday, July 25 [2003], in the Rochester Villa. Born Aug. 4, 1922 in West Williamsfield, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late George and Georgia Fitch Heath. A homemaker, Mrs. Gray, along with her husband, was the owner and operator of Gray's Gas Service of Coraopolis from 1953 until 1988. She was a member of the New Bethlehem United Presbyterian Church. She also was a member of the Montour Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include: her husband, Russell; two sons, Gary G. Gray of Butler and Gregory G. Gray of Aliquippa; three daughters, Gloria Gene McCoy of Aliquippa, Gail G. Hall of Clinton and Gwendolyn G. Coleman of Hookstown; one brother, Lyle H. Heath of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two sisters, Dora Maude Mathieson of Hermitage and Ada Lou Zimmer of Sharon; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Joan Mackey, 67, of Moon Township, died Friday, July 25 [2003], at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Mrs. Mackey was born Aug. 21, 1935 in Liverpool, England to the late Joseph Weston and Helen (McGregor) Nelson. Survivors include: one son, Richard J. Mackey of Moon Township; three daughters, Donna (Todd) Vallin of Tampa, Fla., Dina Kabana of Moon Township and JoAnne Pennine of Heldelberg; one sister, Patricia White of Jacksonville, Fla.; and seven grandchildren. Sara Bosetti, 85, a Coraopolis resident most of her life, died Tuesday, Aug. 5 [2003], in Coraopolis. Ms. Bosetti was born in Smithton on July 13, 1918, to the late Samuel and Louise (Baldassari) Bosetti. She was preceded in death by six sisters and brothers: Mary Bosetti, Lena Shidek, Viola Drandakis, Peral Bosetti, Eugene J. Bosetti and Samuel Bosetti. Ms. Bosetti was a retired custodian for the Moon Area Schools and a member of St. Joseph Church. Survivors include: one sister, Anna Zanella of Penn Hills; and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements were handled by Copeland's of Coraopolis. Burial was at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Chambordon
Ralph E. Chambordon, 95, of Stuart, Fla., a former resident of Moon Township and Coraopolis, died Saturday, Aug. 2 [2003]. Mr. Chambordon spent many years working in the steel mills of Pennsylvania and in his younger years, he played the saxophone and clarinet in dance bands. Music stayed very important during his lifetime. Although Mr. Chambordon lost most of his eyesight several years ago and fought a long battle with cancer, his positive outlook, sense of humor and kindness to others will be remembered by many. He was predeceased by Zilpha 'Zip,' his wife of more than 50 years. Survivors include: one daughter, Carol (Barrington) Taylor of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; two granddaughters and five great-grandchildren. Desko
Michael J. Desko, 89, of Robinson Township, died Thursday, July 24 [2003]. Mr. Desko was born Nov. 1, 1913 in Gallitzin to the late Joseph and Mary Desko. He was a brakeman conductor for 40 years with the Montour Railroad. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Coraopolis and the AARP No. 3451. He was a Groveton firefighter. Survivors include: his wife of 66 years, Jessie; one son, Michael (Janet) Desko of Robinson Township; one daughter, Janet (Ronald) Kaczmarek of Pittsburgh; one brother, John Desko of Florida; one sister, Madeline Bailey of North Carolina; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Desko was preceded in death by brothers George Desko and Joseph Desko. Arrangements were handled by Sanvito Funeral Home in Coraopolis. Burial was at Resurrection Cemetery.

Krane
Dorothy R. (Kiley) Krane, 84, of Moon Township, died Tuesday, Aug. 5 [2003], in Moon Township. Mrs. Krane was born in Pittsburgh on June 29, 1919 to the late Harold and Nellie (Green) Kiley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard J. Krane, and her son, Richard L. Krane. Mrs. Krane enjoyed bowling and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. Survivors include: her daughter-in-law and grandson with whom she made her home, Joyce (Berardi) Krane and Ryan R. Krane of Moon Township; and extended family members and friends. Schriner
Richard E. 'Dick' Schriner, 65, of Oakdale, formerly of Coraopolis, died Monday, Aug. 4 [2003], at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born Oct. 2, 1937 in Punxytawney to the late Leslie J. and Helen (Carley) Schriner, Mr. Schriner was a retired railroad engineer from Aliquippa and Southern Railroad, where he was employed for 30 years before retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Coraopolis. He was also a life member of The Coraopolis Volunteer Fire Department, where he held the following positions: fire marshal, chief and assistant chief. Mr. Schriner was a Private First Class in the U.S. Army during peace time. Survivors include: his wife, Barbara; three sons, Richard Edwin Schriner Jr. of Coraopolis, Michael J. (Laura) Schriner of Coraopolis and Jeffrey M. (Jennifer) Schriner of Findlay Township; one daughter, Donna (Albert) Raupp of Findlay Township; five brothers, David Schriner of Ridge Creat, Calif., Lyle Schriner of Hopewell Township, Robert Schriner of Valencia, Thomas Schriner of Mesa, Ariz., and Paul Schriner of Hopewell Township; four grandchildren; and nieces and phews. David Julius Thomas, Sr., 58, a lifelong resident of Coraopolis, died Saturday, Aug. 2 [2003], in Coraopolis. Mr. Thomas was born in Sewickley July 22, 1945. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Thomas. Mr. Thomas was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and was a former member of American Legion No. 450 in Sewickley. He was a veteran. Survivors include: his wife, Frances M. Thomas of Ohio; two sons, David Julius Thomas, Jr. of Beaver Falls and James Edward Thomas of Las Vegas, Nev.; his mother, Dorothy Lee Tall Crawford; one sister, Beverly Henderson of Cleveland, Ohio; and one great-grandson. Delores L. (Eckelberry) Baer, 77, formerly of Moon Township, died Monday, Nov. 17 [2003], at the Masonic Village at Sewickley. Mrs. Baer was born Aug. 25, 1926 in Moundsville, W.Va. to the late James H. and Mary (Collmar) Eckelberry. She was a self-employed hairstylist and a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include: her husband, Walter; two sons, Mark E. (Lynn) Baer and Timothy J. (Colleen) Baer of Moon Township; one daughter, Donna J. Kozlik of Moon Township; one brother, James Eckelberry of Hopewell; two sisters, Beverly Price of Crescent and Pam Dray of East Liverpool, Ohio; and five grandchildren. Bohon
David H. Bohon, 79, of Crescent, died Friday, Nov. 7 [2003], at Sewickley Valley Hospital. Mr. Bohon was born June 30, 1924 in Rowlesburg, W.Va., to the late William Haze and Lottie (Goff) Bohon. He was a retired steelworker from the J&L Steel Co. A veteran of World War II, he served as a private in the U.S. Army. He belonged to the American Legion Post No. 341 of Ambridge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 826, both of West Virginia. He had been a resident of the area for 55 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Bohon, Jr. Survivors include: his wife, Alma; one son, Melvin Bohon of Crescent; three daughters, Judy Cvetkovich of Hopewell Township, Vickie Stark of South Heights and Marcy Joyner of Crescent; two brothers, Paul Pyle of Kingwood, W.Va., and Bill Bohon of Elkins, W.Va.; and 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Robert N. Brodie, 68, of Coraopolis, formerly of Moon Township, died Monday, Nov. 17 [2003], at Shadyside Hospital. Mr. Brodie was born Aug. 13, 1935 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Iola (Fisher) Brodie. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Greene. He was retired after 33 years from Sewickley Post Office as a postal clerk. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Coraopolis. Mr. Brodie was a member of The Sewickley Senior Men's Club and the N.A.R.P.C. Survivors include: his wife, Sarah Jane; one brother, Allen Brodie of Sewickley; and nieces and nephews. Raymond P. Dolgos, 84, of Collier Township, formerly of Moon Township for 40 years, died Saturday, Nov. 8 [2003], at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. Mr. Dolgos was born July 20, 1919 to the late Charles and Cecelia (Simitz) Dolgos in McKees Rocks. He was parts manager for Talerico Ford for several years. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Coraopolis and St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church in Carnegie. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus in Moon Township and the Keith-Holmes VFW Post 402 in Coraopolis. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps with the 573rd Bombardment Squadron and received following citations: Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge and The European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with 6 Bronze Stars. Survivors include: his wife, Yvonne; one daughter, Jeanine (Darrell) Wallace of Kennedy Township; and two grandchildren. Arrangements were handled by Copeland's of Coraopolis. Anna Marie Griglak, 64, of Moon Township, died Saturday, Nov. 15 [2003], at her residence. Mrs. Griglak was born Nov. 24, 1938 in Masury, Ohio to the late Andrew and Mary (Dacey) Mittal. She was a 41-year resident of Moon Township, where she was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church and a social member of the Hopewell VFW Post 8805. She retired in 1997 after 17 years as teachers' aide with the Allegheny Intermediate Unit. Survivors include: her husband, John; two daughters, Veronica (Barry) Sedmack and Diana McKenna, both of Moon Township; one sister, Sr. Sister Andrene; and two grandchildren. Patrick Elihu Madden, Sr., 70, a Moon Township resident since 1961, died Friday, Nov. 7 [2003], at Sewickley Valley Hospital. Mr. Madden was born June 15, 1933 in Pittsburgh to the late Jerome Ambrose, Sr. and Margaret (Cain) Madden. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church in Moon Township. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Moon Township. He retired in 1991 from T.W.A. after 40 years, where he was a customer service agent. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sr. Elizabeth Ann Madden. Survivors include: two sons, Patrick E. (Linda) Madden Jr. of New Hampshire and Gregory D. (Tracy) Madden of Connecticut; two daughters, Erin Marie (LeRoy) Bossetti of Moon Township and Carrie Anne Madden of Moon Township; two brothers, Jerome Ambrose Madden, Jr. of New Jersey and John Leo Madden of Pittsburgh; three sisters, M. Piper
Doyle C. Piper, 96, of Coraopolis, died Monday, Nov. 10 [2003], at his residence. Mr. Piper was born Oct. 12, 1907 in Clearfield County to the late William and Sadie (Ginter) Piper. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene E. (Etter) Piper. Mr. Piper was a resident of Coraopolis Neville Island for about 45 years. He was a retired car inspector for P & LE RR and a member of both the Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis and the Coraopolis Men's Golden Age Club. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lillian. Survivors include: one son, Doyle C. Piper, Jr. of Rosemont, Minn.; two daughters, Janet Piper of Stowe Township and Sally Potts of Moon Township; one sister, Edna Milligan of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mary Jane (Morell) Remmert, 60, of Moon Township, died Sunday, Nov. 9 [2003], at her residence. Mrs. Remmert was born June 7, 1943 in Rochester to the late Raymond G. and Elizabeth (Lovas) Morell. She was also preceded in death by one brother, James Morell. Mrs. Remmert was a retired school teacher and taught at the following schools: Moon Area School District, Quaker Valley School District and St. Andrews Lutheran Church Kindergarten in Moon Township. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church. Survivors include: her husband, William; one daughter, Nichole Remmert of Washington, D.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Rupert
David E. Rupert, 48, a lifelong resident of Coraopolis, died Friday, Nov. 7 [2003], at Sewickley Valley Hospital. Mr. Rupert was born March 25, 1955 in Sewickley to Ernest M. and Deloris M. (Simonette) Rupert of Coraopolis. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Coraopolis. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rupert is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Trunzo
Natale Trunzo, 75, a longtime resident of Moon Township, died Sunday, Nov. 9 [2003], at the Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, W.Va. Mr. Trunzo was born Aug. 29, 1928 in Falerna, Italy to the late Angelo and Petruzza (Cunsolo) Trunzo. He retired in 1983 from J & L Steel, where he had been a steelworker for 30 years. He was a member of St. Joseph and the Ambridge Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph. Survivors include: his wife, Matilida; three sons, Angelo (Diana) Trunzo of Alamagordo, N.M., Daniel (Cathy) Trunzo of Lake in the Hill, Mich., and Thomas (Darleen) Trunzo of Coraopolis; two daughters, Lina Trunzo of Mt. Wieczorek
Dineen M. (Szady) Wieczorek, 52, of Aliquippa, formerly of Moon Township, died suddenly on Wednesday, Nov. 12 [2003] at The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Mrs. Wieczorek was born Jan. 1, 1952 in Springfield, Mass. To the late Alfred M. and June E. (LaBare) Szady. She was employed by Ikea in Robinson Township for 11 years, where she was still working in their customer service department. She was a member of St. Margaret Roman Catholic Church in Moon Township and was a member of The Coraopolis Elks Club No. 1090 in Moon Township, where she was the firmer president of The Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW ' Keith Holmes Post No. 402 in Coraopolis. She was an avid golfer. Survivors include: her husband, Walter; three daughters, Doreen J. (Steven) McKenna of Hopewell Township, Darleen M. (Thomas) Trunzo of Coraopolis and Christine T. Wieczorek of Moon Township; three brothers, Michael Szady of Massachusetts, Steven Szady of Florida and Alfred Szady of Georgia; three sisters, Susan Morrisette, Patricia Wiles and Sharon Bessette, all of Massachusetts; and two grandchildren. Martin V. 'Skip' Cerankowski, 36, of Hopewell Township, formerly of Coraopolis, died Tuesday, Nov. 18 [2003], at his residence. Mr. Cerankowski was born July 31, 1967 in Sewickley to the late Janet A. (Wright) Fogel. He was employed by Barney's Tavern for eight years and was still working there. He was a member of the tavern's pool team, softball team and a member of the golf league. He also worked for BFI Waste Management. Survivors include: his fianc'e, Meredith Hines of Hopewell Township; one sister, Amy Deichler of Hopewell Township; his aunt and uncle, Betsy and Arthur Wright of Aliquippa; and one niece. Mary Evelyn Ferguson, 82, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Clinton, died Friday, Nov. 28 [2003]. Miss Ferguson was born March 2, 1921 in Sewickley to the late J. Howard and Margaret Stonesipher Ferguson. She was a retired clerk working with the Findlay Township Municipal Authority and was a lifelong member of the Hebron Presbyterian Church in Clinton.
