HAROLD W. ARMSTRONG
Harold W. Armstrong, 82, of Stoneboro, died Monday morning, May 14, 2001, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, from injuries sustained in an auto accident shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Routes 8 and 62 on 15th Street Hill, Franklin. Born Feb. 26, 1919, in Mineral Township, Venango County, he was a son of Lester L. and Sarah E. Kilgore Armstrong. Mr. Armstrong was a graduate of Sandy Lake High School.
He served in the Army Medical Corps during World War II.
Mr. Armstrong was a dairy farmer and school bus driver and retired in 1981 from Polk Center where he worked for 17 years. He was a member of the Irwin Presbyterian Church of Stoneboro, Worth Township. Mr. Armstrong was a member of Millbrook Grange No. 1601, a 60-year member of the Sandy Lake Odd Fellows and a charter member of the Star Promenaders & Shindiggers. He was married Nov. 16, 1943, to Lois M. Means, who preceded him in death. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Don (Shirley) McCandless of Slippery Rock and Mrs. Steve, (Darlene) Medley of Kearney, Mo.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He also is survived by a sister, Mrs. Pearl Adams of Franklin.
The family will receive friends and family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Alexander-McMullen Funeral Home, Sandy Lake. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Harold Greenway, pastor of the Irwin Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Hendersonville Cemetery.

MILDRED ESTHER JORDAN
Mildred Esther Jordan, 84, of the Concordia Lutheran Home in Cabot, formerly of Perry Township, Clarion County, died of natural causes Monday morning, May 14, 2001, in Butler Memorial Hospital. Born Aug. 27, 1916, in Perry Township, Clarion County, she was a daughter of Israel Clyde and Catherine Barger Jordan. Miss Jordan, along with her brothers and sisters, owned and operated the Jordan farm near Dutch Hill in Clarion County all of their adult lives until their retirement. She was of the Lutheran faith.
Surviving are two sisters, Dorothy Mae Kriebel of Freeport Road, Butler, and Margaret Ruth Jordan of Concordia Lutheran Home, Cabot; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Miss Jordan was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Lester Jordan and John Jordan; one sister, Ethel Grace Porter, and an infant sister. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, Wayne Street, Parker. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dutch Hill.

Maya Lynn Schleifer
Maya Lynn Schleifer, daughter of John Andrew Schleifer Jr. and Rebecca Jane Wilson of Franklin RR 4, was stillborn Sunday, May 13, 2001, in Northwest Medical Center at Franklin. Surviving, in addition to her parents, are grandparents, Steven and Carol Wilson of Franklin, John Schleifer Sr. of Hendersonville and Anna Schleifer of Alexandria, La.; and great-grandparents, Robert and Rebecca Beach and Ron and Jane Wilson, all of Franklin; Robert Schleifer of Grove City; and Mary Cosson and James Cosson, both of Pensacola, Fla. She was preceded in death by a great-grandmother.
A private funeral service will be handled by the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home. Interment will be in Center Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit at DuBois Regional Medical Center, P.O. Box 447, DuBois, 15801.

ROSE M. SEDOK SHOUP
Rose M. Sedok Shoup, 86, of East Brady Heights, East Brady, died at 1:05 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2001, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a week-long illness. Born Dec. 21, 1914, in Clarion County, she was a daughter of Samuel and Anna Fugina Lackovic. Mrs. Shoup was retired after 15 years as head cook at the former Grandview Convalescent Home, Clarion, now Beverly Healthcare. She was a member of St. Richard Roman Catholic Church in Rimersburg.
On April 23, 1932, she married Thomas Sedok, who died April 30, 1966.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Chris (Barbara Ann) Henderson of East Brady RD 1; three sons, Edward F. Sedok of Forest Lake, Minn., Thomas R. Sedok of Cadogan and Gerald J. Sedok of Carlisle; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Frank, Charles, Mark and Steve Lackovic; and a half sister, Anna Krotec. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Varner Funeral Home of Rimersburg. A parish prayer service will be held at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Richard Catholic Church in Rimersburg with the Rev. William Kuba, pastor, presiding. Interment will follow in St. Eusebius Cemetery near East Brady.

Bettie Lee Stom
Bettie Lee Stom, 65, of Waterson Road, Clarion, died unexpectedly Sunday, May 13, 2001, in the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Nov. 4, 1935, in McCloud, Calif., she was a daughter of Leonel and Letha Alton.
Mrs. Stom was employed as a food service worker for more than 20 years at the Brookville Area Schools. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clarion where she was active in Bible school, memorial committee and numerous other church groups. Mrs. Stom enjoyed reading, travel, spoiling her grandchildren, playing cards and gardening.
She was married Feb. 8, 1955, to Dale F. Stom of Clarion. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Randall C. Stom of Washington, D.C.; three grandchildren, Hunter, Jordan and Macy Stom, all of Bethlehem, Pa.; and one sister, Violet Robinson of Cleveland, Tenn. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stom was preceded in death by one sister, Lela Crouch.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Goble Funeral Home of Clarion.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Keith Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in the New Rehobeth Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Clarion.

Darlene Fulmer
Darlene Fulmer, 54, of Vowinckel, died suddenly of a heart attack Sunday, May 13, 2001, in Clarion Hospital. Born Dec. 28, 1944, in Russellton, she was a daughter of Charles and Bessie Divelbiss Stuckey of Leeper.
Mrs. Fulmer enjoyed quilts, ceramics, euchre, hunting and working in her yard.
She attended the Greenwood United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Fulmer was married in July 1964 to Edward Clair Fulmer, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to her parents and husband, are a daughter, Charlene Falk of Georgia; and two grandchildren, Lee Fulmer and Shawn Falk of Georgia. She also is survived by a brother, Chester H. Stuckey of Washington, Pa.; a sister, Charlotte Foster of Russellton; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Fulmer was preceded in death by a son, Edward Charles Clair Fulmer, April 7, 2001.
Friends and family may call from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Borland Funeral Home Inc. in Leeper. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Daniel Richter, pastor of the Greenwood United Methodist Church, officiating.

Theodore H. Aites Jr.
Theodore H. Aites Jr., 69, of 20 Buchanan St., Rouseville, died at 11:10 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2001, in the Transitional Care Unit of Northwest Medical Center, Oil City. Born April 15, 1932, in Oil City, he was a son of the late Theodore H. Aites Sr. and Mary Dunkerly Aites. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having been in the National Guard that was mobilized in 1952. He was in the U.S. Army with the 112th Infantry, 28th Division, where he was a platoon sergeant. Mr. Aites had worked at Worthington, then worked 29 years at Foster Forbes and last worked at Venango Newspapers. He had been police chief of Rouseville Borough for 17 years. He also was a constable and served as a Venango County deputy sheriff. Mr. Aites was a member of the Fraternal Lodge No. 483, F. & A.M., Venango Lodge of Perfection, the Coudersport Consistory and the Acacia Grotto. He was married Dec. 6, 1958, to Mary Jo Barr, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Mark Allen Aites of Seneca, Timothy Bruce Aites and his wife, Jo Ann, and Matthew John Aites and his wife, Michelle Lea, all of Rouseville; a daughter and her husband, Terri Lee and Chris Weber of Dempseytown; and six grandchildren, Linden "Sam" Aites, Jessica Aites, Bianca Aites, Nicholas Aites, Rachel Aites and Kristen Aites. He also is survived by three sisters, Clara Dittman of Tippery, Betty Apel of Florida and Mary "Duke" Gutowski of Albion; a half sister, Sandra Norcross of Florida; a stepsister, Judy Swartzfager of Erie; four half brothers, Ronald Aites, William Aites, Raymond Aites and Robert Aites; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Entombment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. The Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

LARRY J. CLARK
Larry J. Clark, 62, of 3802 Perry Highway, Hadley, Sandy Creek Township, died at 1:20 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2001, in Hamot Medical Center, Erie, following an unexpected illness. Born March 27, 1939, in Sandy Creek Township, he was a son of James Frank and Ruby M. Roberts Clark. He served with the United States Air Force in Korea following the Korean Conflict. Mr. Clark was employed in the railroad industry, retiring from Conrail in 2000 as a yard master at Goodman Yard in Lordstown, Ohio. He was an active member of the Arro Forge Golf League of Meadville.
Mr. Clark was a Protestant.
He was married Aug. 20, 1960, to Mary E. Russell, who survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Ruby M. Clark of Hadley; a daughter, Denise Palmero and her husband, Larry, of Cambridge Springs; a son, Michael J. Clark and his fianc饬 Mary Kelly, both of Oil City; and four grandchildren, Michael Palmero, Carly Palmero, Matthew Palmero and Marcus Palmero of Cambridge Springs. He also is survived by a sister, Wanda Shaft and her husband, Robert, of Meadville; and two brothers, Richard Clark and his wife, Deb, of Sandy Lake and Gordon Clark of Mercer. He was preceded in death by his father.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Sheakleyville United Methodist Church, Perry Highway, Sheakleyville, with Jim Callender, pastor of the First Church of God of Cambridge Springs, officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Glea Foster, pastor of the Sheakleyville United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Stevenson Cemetery, Greenville.

CATHERINE F. CROSS
Catherine F. Cross, 91, of Seneca, died at 2:40 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2001, in Beverly Healthcare, Oil City. Born Sept. 9, 1909, in Oil City, she was a daughter of William and Louise Hoffman Ray. In her younger years, Mrs. Cross worked at Quaker State.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Oil City.
Mrs. Cross was married June 19, 1937, to Charles H. "Jack" Cross, who died Jan. 26, 1987. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. James (Jacqueline) Hoover of Seneca; two grandsons, Shane Hoover of Fertigs and Doug Hoover of Seneca; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Cross was preceded in death by two brothers, William Ray and Henry Ray; and two sisters, Hazel Bush and Emma McFarland. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today in the Morrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph E. Filer IV, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.

ESTHER M. DELONG
Esther M. DeLong, 76, of Polk RD 1, died Sunday evening, June 17, 2001, in United Community Hospital, Grove City, after an extended illness. Born April 30, 1925, in Raymilton, she was a daughter of Albert and Goldie Beach Shingledecker. She was a graduate of Franklin High School.
Mrs. DeLong was a lifelong homemaker and attended the Centre United Methodist Church in Polk. She was married Dec. 13, 1945, to Norman L. DeLong Sr., who preceded her in death. Surviving are four daughters, Carol Brunson Rockwell of Grove City, Vicki Buckley of Stoneboro, Nancy Reimold of Cochranton and Kathie Stull of Hermitage; two sons, Norman L. DeLong Jr. of Jackson Center and Rick DeLong of Cabot; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by four sisters, Dorothy "Peg" Dick of Sandy Lake, Margaret Wheeler of Polk, Marian Wheeler of Stoneboro and Priscilla "Hun" McCool of Cooperstown; and three brothers, Albert Shingledecker of Stoneboro and Cecil Shingledecker and Richard Shingledecker, both of Franklin. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Alexander-McMullen Funeral Home, 3236 S. Main St., Sandy Lake. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Bob Sheer of the Centre United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Centre Cemetery, Mineral Township.

RUBY I. KISER
Ruby I. Kiser, 90, of Emerickville, Brookville RD 1, died Sunday, June 17, 2001, in Jefferson Manor, Brookville. Born March 23, 1911, in Dixonville, she was the daughter of Porter and Laura Lowman Donahue. She was a 1934 graduate of the Clearfield School of Nursing.
Mrs. Kiser was a registered nurse at the Brookville Hospital and Jefferson Manor as night supervisor, spending more than 45 years in the nursing field. She was a member of the Emerickville United Methodist Church, the Roseville Grange, Brookville Senior Citizens and the Pennsylvania Nurses Association. Mrs. Kiser enjoyed traveling.
She was married in Winchester, Va., in February 1950 to Raymond Kiser, who died Dec. 14, 1972. Surviving are three sons and their wives, Edward and Carol Kiser of Hazen, Jeffery and Bobbi Kiser of Reynoldsville RD 1 and Gregory and Sandy Kiser of Brookville RD 1; and six grandchildren. Mrs. Kiser was the last remaining survivor of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Kiser was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Donahue and Floyd Donahue; and five sisters, Mame Shank, Martha Shank, Minerva Donahue, Goldie Houser and Blanche Cribbs. LUCILLE C. SMATHERS
Lucille C. Smathers, 83, of 418 Ridgewood Drive, Marianne Estates, Shippenville RD, died Sunday, June 17, 2001, in Beverly Healthcare, Shippenville. Born Sept. 18, 1917, in Piney Township, Clarion County, she was a daughter of Ira W. and Lula Finnefrock Wyman. Mrs. Smathers worked for 20 years in the fabric department of the J.C. Penney Co. store, Clarion. She was a Protestant.
Mrs. Smathers was married Aug. 29, 1936, to Charles Neal Smathers, who died Feb. 24, 1984. Surviving are two sons and their wives, Thomas C. and Shirley Smathers of Clarion and Edward K. and Cynthia Smathers of Shippenville; two daughters and their husbands, Patricia and Frank Ragles of Shippenville RD and Charlene and Bill Tomasek of Chicago, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Stacy Nulph, Sember Morgan Smathers, Jeremiah , Jessica, Justin and Billy Joe Smathers, and John, Margaret and David Ragley; and four great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a brother and his wife, Gerald and Margaret Wyman of Rotunda West, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Smathers was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Wyman and Paul Wyman. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Robert V. Bertram J. McClelland
Bertram J. McClelland, 83, of Franklin, died at 12:45 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2001, in Northwest Medical Center at Franklin following an extended illness. Born Sept. 8, 1917, in Franklin, he was a son of Bertrum G. and Ina May Shaffstall McClelland. He lived in the Franklin area his entire life.
Mr. McClelland retired as a maintenance man for Venango County after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Franklin Eagles Club.
Mr. McClelland was married in Cooperstown on July 13, 1939, to Harriett Fanncisco, who survives in La Habra, Calif. Also surviving are five children, Evon Myers of Seneca, Donald McClelland of Whittier, Calif., Darwin McClelland of Denver, Colo., Marcella Link of Lake Elsinore, Calif., and Rosella McClelland of La Habra, Calif.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law. In addition to his parents, Mr. McClelland was preceded in death by a grandson, Stephen Barscz; and three brothers, William McClelland, Paul McClelland and Stanley McClelland. There will be no visitation.
Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Franklin.

CLAIRE B. CROUP
Claire B. Croup, 90, formerly of Franklin and most recently of Carol City, Fla., died Monday, May 7, 2001. Born Dec. 29, 1910, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Clinton and Bertha Runninger. Mrs. Croup was a graduate of Franklin High School.
She was employed by the Prudential Insurance Co. of Oil City.
Mrs. Croup was married in Good Hope Lutheran Church, Oil City, Aug. 9, 1943, to Samuel B. Croup, who preceded her in death. They resided on Georgetown Road, Franklin, until moving to Florida in 1955. Surviving are a son, Samuel Croup of Homestead, Fla.; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a brother, Fred L Runninger of Alma, Mich.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Croup was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Warren; a stepdaughter, Sylvia Rogers; two sisters, Jean Blair and Frances Henry; and two brothers, Kenneth Runninger and Ralph Runninger. Services were held Thursday, May 10, followed by interment in Dade Memorial Cemetery, Miami, Fla. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Services set for GRACE GUSTAFSON
Graveside services for Grace E. Gustafson, 87, of Lewisburg, formerly of Clarion, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Clarion Cemetery with the Rev. Harold O. Jacobson officiating. Mrs. Gustafson was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Clarion.
Interment will follow in the cemetery.

RUSSELL S. HAAS
Russell S. Haas, 83, of Flowery Branch, Calif., formerly of Lamartine, Salem Township, died Monday, May 28, 2001, in North East Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, Ga., after an extended illness. Born in Salem Township, he was a son of Allen C. and Sarah Sheffer Haas.
Mr. Haas had resided in Lamartine until moved to Georgia two years ago.
He was well-known in the Lamartine area where he was retired from Columbia Gas Co. He served 18 years as an auditor for Salem Township, worked 10 years with the Boy Scouts and served 15 years on the Recreation Board. Mr. Haas had been a member of the Masonic Lodge in Salem Township since 1958 and was a member of Grace Evangelical Congregational Church in Ninevah. He was a member of the Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church, Chestnut Mountain, Ga. He was married for 62 years to Martha K. Haas, who survives.
Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Jeanne Haas of Suwannee, Ga.; a daughter, Linda Haas Baliko of Chestnut Mountain, Ga.; three grandchildren and their spouses, Jessica and Thomas Kuipers of Alpharetta, Ga., Jason and Tamara Haas of Mountain View, Calif., and Jeremy and Ulrika Haas of Cumming, Ga.; and three great-grandchildren, Sarah Grace Kuipers, Lindsey Marie Kuipers and Kelson Alexander Haas. He also is survived by two sisters and their husbands, Jean and Earl Ames of Venus and Freida and Robert Alexander of Titusville; and two brothers and their wives, Leon and Vi Haas of Titusville and Myron and Peggy Haas of Rising Sun, Md. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in Ward's Funeral Home, 758 Main St., S.W., Gainesville, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. John Batusic and the Rev. Kennedy Smartt officiating. Interment will be in Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

MARTHA MAY WILT MCFADDEN HENDERSON
Martha May Wilt McFadden Henderson, 94, formerly of Kennerdell RD 2, died at 10:40 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2001, in Sugar Creek Station, Franklin RD 3, where she had resided since Nov. 23, 1999. Born Dec. 16, 1906, in Franklin, she was a daughter of Robert and Laura Richards Wilt. Early in life, she was adopted and raised by Ambrose and Sarah McFadden. She attended the Walter School near Nectarine in Irwin Township.
Mrs. Henderson had been a practical nurse in the Venango and Mercer County areas for a number of years, taking care of individuals in their homes. She also worked in housekeeping for local residents and worked as a cook for a number of local restaurants. She was a charter member of the Assembly of God in Franklin and had been very active in the church for a number of years. Mrs. Henderson enjoyed reading, gardening and baking homemade breads and rolls.
Surviving are a grandson, the Rev. Walter F. Witherup Jr. and his wife, Florence, of Kennerdell RD 2; two great-granddaughters, Mrs. Robert (Lori) Shawgo and Mrs. Warren (Misty) McClung of Kennerdell RD 2; and one great-great-grandson, Kody McClung of Kennerdell RD 2. She also is survived by a sister, Wilamina Maloy of California; and one brother, Raymond Baker of Ohio. Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Eleanor G. McFadden in infancy and Mrs. Walter F. (Helen I.) Witherup Sr.; and two brothers, Clarence Nichols Williams and Richard Baker. Services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 103 Emlenton St., Clintonville, with the Rev. Ronald Bole, VNA Hospice minister of Franklin, officiating. Interment was in Peter Chapel Cemetery, Irwin Township, Venango County.

MILDRED PAULINE KELLY LAMANNA
Mildred Pauline Kelly Lamanna, 73, of Plum Borough, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001.
Mrs. Lamanna, who was born in Rimersburg, was the wife of Louis Lamanna Jr., who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Louis Lamanna III and wife, Lois Kay Etchison, and Richard Bryce Lamanna and wife, Valerie Kay Atwood; grandchildren, Justin Richard, Kelly Renee, Michael Louis, Jonathan Atwood and Joseph Bryce. She also is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Irene Kelly and Doris Maxine Brody.
Mrs. Lamanna was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Julie Marie Lamanna; and the following sisters and brothers, Harlin Bryce, Russell Leon, Merle Junior, Ruth Arlene Yates, Helen Louise, Betty Jean, Bruce Eugene and Roy Edgar. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Thursday in the Maurice L. Knee Funeral Home, 7663 Saltsburg Road, Plum Borough. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Holiday Park United Methodist Church, Plum Borough. Memorial donations may be made to the Julie Lamanna Fund, in care of The Pittsburgh Foundation, 1 PPG Place, Pittsburgh, 15222, which benefits Make-A-Wish Foundation and Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.

MARGARET 'PEGGY' MAJECIC
Margaret "Peggy" Majecic, 73, of Raleigh, N.C., formerly of Franklin, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, after a brief hospitalization in Raleigh. Born May 26, 1927, in Warren, Ohio, she was a daughter of John Peter Salen and Ethel Myra Lewis. Mrs. Majecic had resided in Franklin for more than 30 years with her husband, Joe.
She enjoyed a career at Borg Warner Steel Corp.
Mrs. Majecic was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Franklin and the United Methodist Women where she served in leadership and youth fellowship. She enjoyed the Women's Club, bridge, golf and serving in the community.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Pat) Nelms of Raleigh, N.C., and Brenda May of Plymouth, Conn.; and five grandchildren, Brook and Joy Danila and Margaret, Matthew and Zachary Nelms. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Millbrook United Methodist Church, Raleigh, N.C.

William "Shorty" Schreckengost, 83, of Rimersburg, died Tuesday afternoon, May 29, 2001, in Clarion Hospital after a short illness. The Varner Funeral Home of Rimersburg is in charge of arrangements.

Ronald Wensel, 36, of 1960 East End Road, Shippenville, died Tuesday afternoon, May 29, 2001, in the emergency room of Clarion Hospital after a sudden illness. The Varner Funeral Home in Sligo is in charge of arrangements.
