Joseph D. Meshyock
MCVEYTOWN - Joseph D. Meshyock, 67, of McVeytown, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, at his home. Born May 20, 1935, in Six Mile Run, he was a son of the late Joseph and Julia (Foore) Meshyock. His wife, Donna M. (Runk) Meshyock, whom he married May 11, 1974, survives. Also surviving are: four children, Rose Mary Kistler, Orrstown; Joseph D. Meshyock and his wife Glenna, St. Thomas, Janice Joy Meshyock, Shippensburg, Luther M. McGinnis and wife Elizabeth, Huntingdon; five siblings, Margaret, Edward, Paul, Donald, and Vernon; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four siblings: Andrew, Betty, Doris, and Kenneth. He retired from Empire Kosher in 1997. He was a Protestant by faith and enjoyed hunting and playing lead guitar in various local country bands. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Pine Glen Alliance Church, SR 103, N. MILLERSTOWN - Palmer Henry Messimer, 67, of RR2, Millerstown, entered into rest at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, from the George P. Garman Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant Mills, with Pastor Enos W. Shelly officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Catherine E. Miller
MILROY - Catherine E. Miller, 95, of 80 Broad St., Milroy, died at 4:45 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2002, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Jan. 30, 1907, in Mifflinburg, she was a daughter of the late Crawford C. and Mertie C. (Kibe) Aumiller. Her husband, Willis Andrew Miller, preceded her in death in 1949. Surviving are: a daughter, Jean Hodes, Hollywood, FL; a sister, Anita J. Deamer, Milroy; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Grant C. Miller on Feb. 28, 2000; and five brothers, Ernest, Robert, Clarence C., Clayton B., and Gerald B. Aumiller. She had worked at Thompson Hosiery Mill and Greens Hosiery Mill, both in Milroy. She was a member of the Milroy Pilgrim Holiness Church, Milroy. Her funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the Milroy Pilgrim Holiness Church, College Avenue, Milroy, with the Rev. David Wise officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy. Dianne R. Miller
LANCASTER - Dianne R. Miller, 61, died at 12:20 a.m. Feb. 25, 2002, at the Essa Flory Hospice Center, Lancaster. She is survived by a son, three daughters, 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was the owner of Sunrise Cafe in Mifflintown from 1985-1989. Her strong Christian faith was a witness to all who knew her. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. The Groff Funeral Home, Lancaster, is handling arrangements.

Emma Violet Miller
BURNHAM - Emma Violet Miller, 78, of 504 N. Logan Blvd., Burnham, died at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare William Penn Nursing Home, Lewistown. Born Dec. 4, 1923, in Renovo, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Victor and Mabel Belle (Cowfer) Coffey. Her husband, Charles D. Miller, preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 2001. Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. C. William (Linda Kay) Morgan, Shippensburg; a sister, Mabel B. Eater, 108 Delaware Ave., Lewistown; two grandchildren, Kelly L. Dubesky and Chad W. Morgan, and one great-grandchild, Michael M. Dubesky. She was a bookkeeper for Reynold's Electric, Sitkins, and Aumiller's Auto Wreckers, before retiring in 1977. She also wrote a column for the County Observer. Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with Pastor Victor S. Florine P. Miller
LEWISTOWN - Florine P. Miller, 88, of 8471 U.S. Highway 522 South, Lewistown, died at 12:25 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare-William Penn. Born April 9, 1914, in McVeytown, she was a daughter of the late Joseph I. and Mary A. (Bingerman) Beers. Her husband, Albert J. Miller, whom she married Dec. 16, 1933, survives. Also surviving are a sister and brother, Geraldine M. Beers, Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, and W. Jack Beers, 163 Birch Drive, Lewistown. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lou Miller, on Jan. 6, 2000. She was employed as a clerk in the office at the Belleville Sale Barn, and later worked at First Area Federal Credit Union before retiring in 1982. She was a member of Calvary Bible Church where she was active in the church choir and Daughters of Ruth Sunday School Class. Helena M. Miller
LEWISTOWN - Helena M. Miller, 81, of 28 Rosemont Ave., Lewistown, died at 4:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare-William Penn. Born March 6, 1920 in Tisbury, MA, on Martha's Vineyard, she was the daughter of the late Ralph W. and Sarah (McLellan) Coffin. Her husband, George A. Miller, whom she married Oct. 5, 1944, survives. Also surviving are: children, Ruth E. Cummings, 345 E. Pitt St., Bedford, George W. Miller, 36 Packet Dr., Dennis, MA; and several nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family having been preceded in death by three brothers, Waldo Coffin, R. Alaric Coffin, William Coffin and a sister, Ruth Landry. She was a 1938 graduate of Yarmouth High School. Early in life she was employed by G. Fox & Co., Hartford, CT, as a clerk-typist. She was an Episcopalian by faith. CLEARFIELD - Jay R. Miller, 82, of 314 S.W. Third Ave., Clearfield died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at Clearfield Hospital, Clearfield. Born Oct. 19, 1919 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Edward and Edna (Norton) Miller. He was married to Betty J. (Wagner) Miller, whom he married April 21, 1944. Surviving are: children, Bonnie Johnson and her husband Charlie, Clearfield; Jay R. Miller Jr. and his wife Carol Jean (Petrone), Mechanicsburg; Carole Horm and her fiance Larry Leigey, Clearfield; Jennifer Hudson and her husband Edward, Clearfield; Wendy Sue Foust, Clint Robert Horm, Tiffany Irwin and Jessica Hudson; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Della Eberts, Lewistown and Edith Barnes, State College. He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 brothers and sisters. His funeral was held 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2002, at The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Michael G. FAYETTEVILLE - Ralph S. Miller, 87, a resident of Beverly Healthcare, Fayetteville, formerly of Concord, died at 8:05 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare, Chambersburg. Born Oct. 28, 1915, in Concord, he was a son of the late Albert H. and Melinda (Stewart) Miller. His wife, Leatha K. (Miller) Miller, preceded him in death May 1, 1994. Surviving are: two daughters, Eva Margaret Irvin, Concord, and Nancy Miller, Carmel, NY; five sons, Ray Miller, Mifflintown, Donald Miller, Concord, Marvin Miller, Chambersburg, Robert Miller, Greencastle, and Lloyd Miller, Concord; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and four step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel K. Miller. He was a graduate of the former Fannett Township High School. He had been a farmer all his life. He was a bus driver for the Fannett-Metal School District and he hauled milk to the Bryer's Creamery, Port Royal. He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church, Concord. He was also a member of Path Valley Lions Club, Dorsett Grange #188, Concord, a former member of Fannett-Metal School Board. He was an avid hunter and especially enjoyed coon hunting. LEWISTOWN - Russell G. Miller, 97, of Beverly Healthcare -William Penn, formerly of 114 Delaware Ave., Lewistown, died at 11:40 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2002, at the nursing home. Born Jan. 10, 1905, in Paint-ersville, Decatur Township, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Minnie Mae (Goss) Miller. His wife, Cora G. Miller, preceded him in death on Nov. 23, 1978. Surviving are: children, Carl B. Miller, Lewistown, Ronald R. Miller, Lewistown, Betty Douglas, Lewistown, Mrs. Joseph (Helen) Barbush, Harrisburg, Miss Donna C. Miller, Lewistown, Mrs. John (Martha) Campbell, Middletown, and Mrs. Vincent (Barbara) Lippre, Philadelphia; a granddaughter, Wanda Weyant Williams, whom he raised, and a great-grandson, Scott Williams; 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death in 1980 by a son, William Miller; and a sister, Sarah Miller. He was employed in the Cake Processing for 41 years at American Viscose Corp. He was a Lutheran by faith, early in life he attended Alfarata Lutheran Church. Services will be private at the convenience of the family with a interment at Alfarata Lutheran Cemetery. Shawn D. 'Amos' Miller
MCVEYTOWN - Shawn D. 'Amos' Miller, 20, of Mountain Lane, McVeytown, died at 6:34 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, in the emergency room of J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born June 7, 1982, in Lewistown, he was the son of Douglas P. and Jody L. (Kinser) Miller of Mountain Lane, McVeytown. Also surviving are a brother, Jason S. Miller, and a sister, Jessica N. Miller, both of Mountain Lane, McVeytown; maternal grandparents, James E. Kinser, Harrisburg, and Mr. and Mrs. Donald and Nancy Ball, New Lancaster Valley; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul L. and Frances Miller, Lewistown; and maternal great-grandmother, Lucina Kinser, Lewistown. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Margaret J. Miller; maternal great-grandfather, Kenneth Kinser; and paternal great-grandparents, Wilmer and Helen Miller. He was a 2000 graduate of Lewistown Area High School. He currently attended Penn State, Dubois campus, where he made the fall semester's dean's list. During the summer, he was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service. He was a member of the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren. He had been active in the Big Valley Chapter of the FFA, having served as president and recipient of the Keystone Degree and numerous awards. He was a senior firefighter with the McVeytown Volunteer Fire Company and the Fall's Creek Fire Company, Dubois. He was an avid outdoorsman and planned to become a game warden following graduation. Born Nov. 18, 1934, in Marysville, she was the daughter of the late James and Viola (Arndt) Swartz Baker. Her husband, Leroy F. Miller, survives. Also surviving are: a son, Gary L. Miller, 4365 SR 103 North, Lewistown; two grandsons, Damian and Nathan Miller; a sister, Maria Peters, and a half-sister, Lynn Zinicola, both of Enola. She was a retired bookkeeper/office manager for an electronics firm in Florida. She was a member of St. Malachy's Catholic Church, Tamarac, FL. Born Oct. 13, 1936, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Paul G. and Frances (Hartman) Fink. Her husband, Gerald Miller whom she married in 1972, survives. Also surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Brad (Ruth Ann) Ream and Mrs. David (Paulette) Seiler, both of Lewistown; a sister, Katherine Gaither, Hollywood, FL; grandchildren, David, Zachary, Michele and Broc; and great-granddaughter, Madison. She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul E. Fink on July 12, 2001. She worked at Wal-mart. She was a member of Granville United Methodist Church. LEWISTOWN - Valorie I. Miller, 45, of 13 Depot St., Lewistown, died at 6:16 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2002, in the Lewistown Hospital Emergency Room. Born Sept. 18, 1956, in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late John Lamb and Cordelia (Hartley) Lamb. She is survived by her husband, Bradley W. Miller, whom she married Nov. 15, 1991. Also surviving are: children, Christina Lamb, Jennifer Lamb and David Lamb, all of Altoona; stepchildren, Elisha Miller, Ashley Miller and Kelsi Miller, all of Duncansville; a niece, Nichole Ross, Altoona; sisters, Mrs. William (Sue) Matthews Simmons, Morrisdale, Robin Latteri, Altoona, and Lisa Lamb, Altoona. David F. "Dick" Milliken
MIFFLIN - David F. "Dick" Milliken, 81, of HC 67, Mifflin, died at 5:27 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2002, at the Locust Grove Retirement Village, HC 67, Mifflin. Born May 8, 1921, in Honey Grove, Juniata County, he was the son of the late Harvey K. and Maude (Arnold) Milliken. His wife, Dorothy E. "Dot" (Bryner) Milliken, whom he married Nov. 19, 1943, survives. Also surviving are: a son, Marlin D. Milliken and his wife, Carol, RR4, Mifflintown; two sisters, Katherine "Kit" Stong, RR2, Port Royal, and Maxine Baney, RR2, Mifflintown; three grandchildren and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Joe, Jasper, Ross, Mark and Benjamin Milliken, an infant brother, and two sisters, Sarah Black, Mary Bryner, and an infant sister. Early in life he was a truck driver for E.L. Gloss Lumber and later worked for Riverside Oil Co., Mifflintown, before retiring with 15 years of service from PennDot, Mifflintown, as a truck driver and equipment operator. He attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Mifflintown, was a member of the McCullough's Mills Historical Society and he was a life member of the Beale Township Fire Company where he was instrumental in starting the fire company and helping to build the fire hall. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Asiatic and Pacific Theater. He enjoyed gardening and volunteering with the Juniata County Meals on Wheels and at the Community Center of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. His funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday from the Mifflintown Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with Pastor Donald F. Ehrlich officiating and Elder Roy Leader assisting. Interment will be in the McCullough's Mills Cemetery, RR1, Honey Grove. AKRON - A. Louise Mitchell, 74, formerly of Akron and Lititz, died Saturday evening, Jan. 19, 2002 at the Maple Farms Nursing Center, Akron, following a brief illness. Born in Lewistown, she was the daughter of Margaret (Bubb) Taylor of Lewistown and the late John Chester Taylor. Her husband, C. Thomas Mitchell, preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 1991. Surviving are: three sons, John T., husband of Rhelda (Zwally) Mitchell of Myrtle Beach, SC, William T., husband of Jill (Mohn) Mitchell of Lititz, and C. Michael, husband of Cheryl (Risser) Mitchell of Lititz, two daughters, Ann, wife of Thomas E. Rothfus of Lititz, and Barbara, wife of Alan C. Ebersole of Ephrata; three sisters, Peggy, wife of Eugene Harbst of Reedsville, Dorie, wife of Edward DeProspero of Haddon Heights, NJ, and Sue, wife of John Ganoe of Harrisburg; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She attended Belleville High School She was a cook at the Akron Restaurant for 21 years, before retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity of Ephrata. Born Feb. 28, 1913, in Alexandria, she was the daughter of the late William S. and Juanita (Brandt) Wilson. Her husband, Albert E. Mitchell, preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1993. She is survived by four nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters. She was a homemaker. She was a Protestant by faith. MCVEYTOWN - Clementine A. "Clemmie" Moist, 99, of the Malta Home, Granville, formerly of Ryde, died at 9:40 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2002 at the home. Born Dec. 15, 1902, in Bratton Township, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah (Ronk) Moist. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Ryde United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years and belonged to the United Methodist Women. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pleasant View Cemetery, Mattawana, with Rev. Robert A. Brown Sr. officiating. YEAGERTOWN - Marguerite Molek, 82, of 220 Ewardtown Road, Yeagertown, died at 8:46 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2002 at Lewistown Hospital's Emergency Room. Born Dec. 4, 1919, in Sunbury, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mildred (Walker) Kerstetter. Her husband, Walter C. "Whitey" Molek, preceded her in death on Aug. 29, 2000. Surviving are three children, David W. Molek of Yeagertown, Joseph M. Molek of Reedsville and Nicholas A. Molek of Milroy; a sister, Catherine Bradley of Florida; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Kerstetter. She worked as a secretary at Kovalchick Corp. for 35 years and at Molek Law Office for 26 years. REEDSVILLE - Erma Jane Monsell, 76, of 418 Pearl Street, Reedsville, died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday April 23, 2002, at her residence. Born July 22, 1925, in Mifflinville, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd W. and Hazel M. (Starr) Kell. Her husband, Kenneth R. Monsell, preceded her in death March 5, 1985. Surviving are: children, Mrs. Daniel (Brenda) Donofrio, Elizabethville, Miriam J. Wagaman, Reedsville, and Mrs. Mitchell (Jan) Burkholder, Mount Union; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was a 1943 graduate of Reedsville High School. She had been employed at the American Viscose, Lewistown. She was a member of Reedsville United Methodist Church, and the Dorcas Sunday School class. LEWISTOWN - William K. Mooney, 79, of 227 Cider Lane, Lewistown, died at 7:45 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at Valley View Retirement Community, Belleville. Born Oct. 5, 1922, in Sewickley, he was the son of the late Perry A. and Cora (Rankin) Mooney. His wife, Dorothy R. (Ristin) Mowery, whom he married May 29, 1949, survives. He was the last of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by a brother, Paul S. Mooney. He worked as a sales agent for Prudential Life Insurance Company in Sewickley, Bedford and Lewistown, retiring in 1984. He served during World War II as an U.S. Army Medic. He was a methodist by faith. He was a member of the Lewistown Elks Lodge #663. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no public viewing. MOUNT UNION - Erma L. Moore, 68, of RD2, Box 337, Mt. Union, died at 4:10 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2002, at her home. Born Nov. 24, 1933, in McVeytown RD1, she was a daughter of the late H. Frank and Thelma (Sunderland) Rhodes. Her husband, Wilbur C. "Cuz" Moore, whom she married July 11, 1953, survives. HARRISBURG - John D. "Dinty" Moore, 87, of Harrisburg, died Saturday at Harrisburg Hospital. Born July 8, 1914, in Mifflin, he was the son of the late Harry and Gertrude E. (Kerlin) Moore. Surviving are: a son, John E. Moore, Baltimore, MD; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a retired painter for the former Penn Harris Hotel and a member of the William Penn Social Club. MT UNION - Deborah K. (Taylor) Morder, 48, of 408 N. Drake St., Mt. Union, died at 5:20 a.m. Thursday Sept. 19, 2002, in the E.R. at JC Blair Hospital, Huntingdon, following an extended illness. Her mother, Iva (Treaster) Taylor McCarty, along with Deb's two children, James and Governor Walker, survive, all of them from Mt. Union. Phyllis M. Morgan
CAMP HILL - Phyllis M. Morgan, 79, of Beverly Healthcare, Camp Hill, formerly of Lewistown, died at 11:02 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare, Camp Hill. Born Aug. 26, 1923, in Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Florence (Stuck) Yetter. Her husband, Eugene Y. Morgan, died June 18, 1989. Surviving are: four children, Robert E. Morgan, Peach Bottom, George E. Morgan, Stroudsburg, Mrs. Greg (Grace) Walker, Harrisburg, and Donald J. Morgan, Stroudsburg; two sisters, Dorothy Hughes, Lewistown, and Helen Trump, Myrtle Beach, SC; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. She was a nurses aid at White Hall Nursing Home, Lancaster, and later she was a private duty nurse in the Poconos. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Effort, and she was active in Girl Scouts of America. DAUPHIN - Morty Morrow, 76, of Dauphin, died at 5:47 p.m. Tuesday April 23, 2002. Born on April 18, 1926, in Rochester, NY, he was the son of the late Benjamin M. and Mollie Morrow. He was a cherished companion of Lois Williams and her children, Karen Nichol, Jenny Williams and Jeff Conrad. He was a beloved father of Dr. Jay Morrow, Abbie Weiss and Linda Haendiges. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. He was formerly a merchandise manager with Boscov's Dept. Store for 21 years, and recent president of Millersburg Art Association Inc. THOMPSONTOWN - Lois "Bibie" Naylor Morton, of Thompsontown RR2, formerly of West Chester, passed away Friday, October 18, 2002 peacefully in her home. Born August 9, 1936 in Mifflin, she was a daughter of the late Merrill and Henrietta Naylor. She is survived by her husband, Edward L. Morton, whom she married December 18, 1997; two daughters, Diane Roush Hubert and her husband, Jim, of Alpharata, GA and April Roush Urbine and her husband, Bret, of Plano, Texas; a stepson, Scott Corby and his wife, Anne, of Springfield, MO; sisters and brother, Jackie Naylor of Durham, NC, Rosalie Smith of Belleville, and George Naylor of Shiremanstown; three grandsons, Jimmy Hubert, David Hubert and Austin Urbine and three step-grandchildren, Mandi, Tara and Bo Corby. She was a 1955 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown where she was crowned a beautiful May Queen in her senior year. After graduation, she trained at Women's Hospital, Philadelphia and continued to work as a Registered Nurse in the Philadelphia area for more than 30 years, retiring in 1991. She passionately enjoyed traveling, entertaining, cooking, gardening, home decorating and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Robert Roy "Bob" Moyle
DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, FL - Robert Roy "Bob" Moyle, 79, of Defuniak Springs, FL, passed away at his residence Sunday, April 21, 2002, following an extended illness. Born Dec. 24, 1922, in Granville, he was the son of the late Raymond N. and Evelyn (Zimmerman) Moyle. Surviving are: two brothers, James D. Moyle and wife Margaret, Lewistown, and Jack A. Moyle and wife Joyce, McVeytown; one sister, Joan Swarmer, Reedsville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter B. Moyle. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in World War II, with his last mission as a B29 Crew Chief. After retirement, he went to DeFuniak Springs, FL, some 20 years ago to visit a military buddy. He liked the area and made it his home. He loved to hunt and fish. He owned his own commercial fishing boat and had his private pilot license. Services will be held in Pennsylvania privately for the family. EPHRATA - Gary Duane Muckle, 60, of Akron Road, Ephrata, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, in Hospice of Lancaster County after a brief illness. Born in Huntingdon, he was the son of Virginia M. (Kelley) Muckle of Millcreek and the late Norman P. Muckle. His companion, Patricia "Trish" Chintella with whom he resided, survives. Also surviving are: a son, Timothy Paul, husband of Judy Griffith Muckle, Ephrata and two daughters, Annette Marie, wife of Glenn Austin, O'Fallon, MO, and Christine Lynn Muckle, Lawrence, KN; two sisters, Janet Elaine Shore, Hickory, NC and Marie Morningstar, Huntingdon; and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Blair Muckle. He was employed as a truck jockey at Weyerhauser Corp. for 20 years and most recently worked from 1994 through the present at Burnham Boiler. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961-65. He was a member of Teamsters Local #771 of Lancaster and Glass, Molders, Pottery and Plastics and Allied Workers International Union Local 287. She served as a cafeteria manager for the Juniata County School District at Fermanagh-Mifflintown Elementary School for 32 years until her retirement in 1998. Born Aug. 25, 1923, in Burnham, he was a son of the late William A. and Anna (Fisher) Myers. His wife, Rhoda M. (Duncan) Myers, preceded him in death on Jan. 8, 2000. Surviving are: two sons, James W. Myers, Mins, FL and Terry L. Myers, Lancaster; step-children, Timothy T. Hook, Harrisburg, Ricky Lee Ehrenfeld, Annville and Mrs. George (Gwendolyn) Henry, Germany; a half-sister, Joyce Stine, Lewistown; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one half-brother, two half-sisters, three step-brothers and four step-sisters. He was a pipe fitter at Standard Steel in Burnham for 21 years, retiring in 1985. He served in the U.S. Army, Merchant Marines during World War II. He was a life member of the Fame, City Hook & Ladder, Newtown, East Derry and Yeagertown Fire Companies where he was Past President, Vice President and Trustee, life member of the American Legion, Mifflin County Fire Police, Derry Township Fire Police where he served as past Treasurer and Captain, Lewistown Fire Police, Former coach of Yeagertown Little League and Babe Ruth. He was recognized by the House of Representatives for years served in the Fire Police. He was an avid Phillies Fan. He enjoyed fishing, wrestling, assembling puzzles and having coffee with the guys at Smith's Gulf. He also helped to organize the Derry Township Fire Police Fishing Tournament. He was cattle dealer most of his life but also worked at Lancaster Leaf Tobacco Co. and Lancaster Coca Cola Bottling Co. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church of Christ, Rohrerstown; Masonic Lodge 43, Free and Accepted Masons; Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Zembo Shrine Club; Lancaster County Shrine Club and Harrisburg Consistory.
