LEWISTOWN - Grace E. 'Myra' Campbell, 73, of 624 Harvard St., Lewistown, died at 3:41 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at Hershey Medical Center. Born Oct. 9, 1928, in Belleville, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (Fultz) Rowles. Her husband, James E. E. Campbell Jr., whom she married on March 16, 1946, survives. Also surviving are three sons, James E. E. Campbell III of Belleville, Ray E. Campbell Sr., of Lewistown and William T. Campbell Sr. of Lewistown; three sisters, Charlotte Rowles of Valley View Haven, Olive Murray of West Palm Beach, FL and Mable Coder of Mill Creek; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Florence L. Campbell; a brother, Charles Raymond Rowles; and two sisters, Laura Rowles Knepp and Dorothy Rowles Peters. She was a homemaker. She was a Lutheran by faith. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with Pastor Laban Peachey officiating. A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no public viewing. Warren R. Campbell Sr.
MCALISTERVILLE - Warren R. Campbell Sr., 71, of RR1 McAlisterville, died at 8:22 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2002, in the Lewistown Hospital. Born Aug. 10, 1930, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Samuel and Ethel (Treeweek) Campbell. His wife Betty M. (Forry) Campbell, whom he married July 26, 1984, survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Linda Kochenderfer of East Waterford, Deborah Pegher of DuBois and Tina Setzler of Lewistown; two sons, Samuel Campbell of Philipsburg and Warren Campbell Jr. of Mifflintown; three step-sons, Donald Orwan of Liverpool, David Orwan of McAlisterville and Scott Bilger of Richfield; a step-daughter, Crystal Orwan-Collins of Millerstown; a brother, Charles T. Campbell of Iowa; many grandchildren and step-grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Bowman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was employed by Empire Kosher Poultry, Inc., Mifflintown until his retirement. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from the McAlisterville Chapel of the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with the Rev. William P. Luckadoo officiating. Shirley Ann McVicker Carolus
DULUTH, GA - Shirley Ann McVicker Carolus, 65, of Duluth, GA died Dec. 5, 2002. She was a native of Lewistown. Her husband, John Carolus of Duluth, survives. Also surviving are: three sons, John J. Carolus, Dacula, GA, Andrew Carolus, Buford, GA, and Joseph Carolus, Braselton, GA; a daughter, Susan Carolus Williams, Duluth, GA; a brother, John Wyland, Winder, GA; a sister, Sandy Goodling, Lewistown; and seven grandchildren. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were by Bill Head Funeral Home Duluth Chapel.

Pete Carpenter
LEWISTOWN - Pete Carpenter, 60, of rear of 323 Shaw Ave., Lewistown died at noon Monday at his residence. Born Nov. 20, 1942 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of Viola (Singleton) Carpenter and the late Bernard Carpenter Sr. His companion, Tina Knepp, survives. Also surviving are: children, Denise, Mary, and Cynthia Carpenter, all of Pittsburgh, and Torrey and Tessa Carpenter, both of Lewistown; sister and brothers, Barbara Peterson, Pittsburgh, Rev. Bernard Carpenter, Lewistown, and Charles Carpenter, Wilkinsburg. He was an artist. Carl M. 'Buck' Carter Sr.
MCVEYTOWN - Carl M. "Buck" Carter Sr., 74, of 1175 Little Greenbriar Road, McVeytown, died at 6:07 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at his residence. Born May 21, 1928, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Milton L. and Viola (Ward) Carter. His wife, Joy A. (Peck) Carter, survives. Also surviving are: nine children, Carl M. Carter Jr., Lewistown, Larry G. Carter, Orbisonia, Mrs. Calvin (Sandra) Forshey, McClure, Mrs. Randall (Cindy) Hesser, McVeytown, Mrs. Wilmer (Tammy) Jury, Kistler, Matthew S. Carter, McClure, Michael D. Carter, Maitland, Ryan E. Carter, Strodes Mills, and Mrs. Gregory (Jennifer) Reigle, Lewistown; a sister, Kathleen Carter, Richfield; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbur "Tac" Carter and Harold "Beanie" Carter. Early in life he was employed at Sitkin's Smelting Plant, later at Mann Edge Tool Company for 17 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Newton Hamilton Brethren in Christ Church. He was also a member of Moose Lodge #223, Huntingdon, and East Derry Fire Company, Glenwood. He enjoyed flying, racing, reading Indian history and being with family and friends. LEWISTOWN - Gloria J. "Jeanne" Carter, 54, of Gingerbread Lane Lewistown, died at 6:50 p.m. Friday Aug. 23, 2002, at her residence. Born March 26, 1948, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of Thomas Sr. and Margaret E. (Stone) Bender, of Lewistown. Her husband, Carl Carter, whom she married Feb. 2, 1968, survives. Also surviving are: children, Mrs. William (Michelle) Carter Ruby and Mrs. Scott (Lori) Carter Earnest, both of Lewistown, Kristi Carter of Belleville; fifteen siblings, Mrs. Robert (Barbara) Toler of West Virginia, Thomas Bender Jr. and Donald Bender both of Lewistown, Ronald Bender of Mifflintown, Mrs. Michael (Mary) Dippery, Ferris Bender, Mrs. Albert (Deborah) Tipton, Mrs. Lamar (Kathy) Fetterman, Mrs. Carl (Susan) King, Wendy Bender, William Bender, Samuel Bender, Tami Bender, Jeffrey Bender, Mrs. Edward (Pamela) Stimley all of Lewistown; and three grandsons, Dylan and Dustin Carter and Dakota Fisher. Freda M. Carwell
MCALISTERVILLE - Freda M. Carwell, 89, of RR2 McAlisterville died at 4:50 p.m. on Monday, November 4, 2002 at the Lewistown Hospital. She was born on August 1, 1913 in Cocolamus, Juniata County, a daughter of the late Levi P. and Annie (Amey) Spade. Her husband Paul H. Carwell, whom she married on November 7, 1930, preceded her in death on January 13, 1993. She is survived by: a son, Donald M. Spade, Millerstown, a daughter, Phyllis A. Graham, McAlisterville; a sister, Ruth Naylor, McAlisterville; 6 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Paul M. Carwell on December 12, 1996, a brother Marlin Spade, and three sisters, Verda Stuck, Mary Moad, and Dorothy Seiler. Until her retirement in 1975 she was employed as a seamstress for L. Shellenberger and Son, McAlisterville and Lyons Fashions, McAlisterville. She was a resident of McAlisterville for over 71 years. She attended the McAlisterville United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday from the McAlisterville Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 16 Westfall Street, McAlisterville with the Rev. Dr. Karl R. Herman and Rev. James A. LEWISTOWN - Helen M. Casner, 83, of Ohesson Manor Nursing Home, and formerly of Mattawana, died at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at the nursing home. Born September 16, 1918, in Mattawana, she was a daughter of the late Agustus and Grace (Miller) Miller. Her husband, Russell L. Casner, preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1957. Surviving are: two sons, Robert R. Casner and his wife Ann (Hanawalt) Casner, Strodes Mills, and John R. Casner and his wife Kathryn (Sechrist) Casner, McVeytown; a brother, Lester Miller, McVeytown; a sister, Mrs. William (Doris) Rupert McVeytown; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and a granddaughter. She was employed as a seamstress at the Arrow Shirt Factory before retiring in 1972. She was a member of the Wayne United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family, with the Rev. Marian E. Hartman officiating. Cavanaugh, 81, a resident of Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, and formerly of 6355 Ferguson Valley Rd., McVeytown, died at 4:55 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at the nursing home. Born Sept. 29, 1920, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Rosie (Kearns) Cavanaugh Swarmer. His wife, Elaine A. (Garvin) Cavanaugh, preceded him in death on Sept. 28, 1968. His companion with whom he resides, Carrie Fike, survives. Also surviving are: children, Charles E. Cavanaugh Jr., State College, Mrs. Russell (Shirley) Woods, Lewistown, Connie Cavanaugh, Burnham, William B. Cavanaugh, and his companion's son, Earl Fike, East Waterford; sisters, Mrs. Jack (Audrey) "Till" Beers, Strodes Mills, Mrs. William (Shirley) Watson, Julian, and Betty Penepacker, Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, Lewistown; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Cavanaugh, a son, Raymond L. Cavanaugh, and five brothers. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Military Police Officer. He was a crane operator at Standard Steel, Burnham, for over 30 years. He was a Baptist by faith. LEWISTOWN - Jason S. Cavanaugh, 21, of 11 Freightliner Lane, Lewistown, died Wednesday, June 5, 2002, as a result of an automobile accident in Centre County. Born Oct. 22, 1980, in Lewistown, he was a son of Bonnie L. (Hostetler) and Lloyd F. Cavanaugh Sr. of 11 Freightliner Lane, Lewistown. Also surviving are: a brother, Lloyd F. Cavanaugh Jr., 11 Freightliner Lane, Lewistown; maternal grandmother, Nancy Hostetler, 10 Freightliner Lane, Lewistown; and paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Connie Cavanaugh, 631 Highland Avenue, Burnham. He was a 1999 graduate of Indian Valley High School and a 2001 graduate of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. He was employed as an architect for S&A Homes, State College. He attended Paintersville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. He played varsity football and baseball at Indian Valley High School and was the starting quarterback for two years at Thaddeus Stevens College. LEWISTOWN - Margaret N. "Peggy" (Sheetz) Cerra, 82, of 1382 Back Maitland Road, Lewistown, died at 8:04 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Jan. 15, 1920, in Mifflin, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Louretta (Darlington) Sheetz Sr. Her husband, Joseph Cerra, died in 1948. She is survived by her friend and companion since 1963, John C. Buckley. Surviving are a brother, Robert Sheetz of Pensacola, FL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters. She worked for Hamilton Watch Co. for four years, and as a technician for Gross Dental Lab, Lancaster, for 18 years. She was also employed at Whitey Rodgers Town House Inn, Rehobeth Beach, DE, for 18 years and for Dr. Coyer for 15 years. She was a Protestant by faith. YEAGERTOWN - Lawrence F. Cheney, 84, of 17 N. Mann Ave., Yeagertown, died Tuesday, June 25, 2002, at his daughter's residence in Keene, NH. Born Nov. 17, 1917, in Riverton, IL, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Nona (Snyder) Cheney. His wife, Ruth P. (Patterson) Cheney, preceded him in death on Nov. 4, 1994. Surviving are: children, A. Keith Cheney, 316 Fernwood, Marquette, MI, Mrs. Larry (Paula) Miller, 9 Westlund Ave., Keene, NH; brothers and sisters, Russell Cheney, Chillicothe, IL, Mrs. Charles (Bertha) Loser, Peoria, IL, William P. REEDSVILLE - Mabel A. Chilcott, 89, of 39 Pearl St., Reedsville, died at 3:55 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, Lewistown. Born June 21, 1912, in Reedsville, she was the daughter of the late Merle P. and Laura Jane (Stover) Fultz. Her husband of 64 years, Richard G. Chilcott, preceded her in death on June 15, 2001. She is survived by a sister, Ellen S. Fultz of Reedsville. She had been a language teacher at Reedsville High School in the 1930's. She was a member of Holy Communion Church, Yeagertown. A 1929 graduate of Reedsville High School and a 1933 graduate of Susquehanna University. Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with tha Rev. Lee H. "Peanut" Chubb, 84, of 205 Greenwood St., Millerstown, died at 2:40 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2002, at his residence. John Ciecierski
LEWISTOWN - John Ciecierski, 85, of Outlook Pointe, formerly of 130 Terrace Blvd, died at 4:55 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002 at Lewistown Hospital. Born Nov. 21, 1916, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late John and Wanda Helen (Price) Ciecierski Rockoway. His wife, Manice Ciecierski preceded him in death Oct. 1, 2002. Surviving are: two sons, Gary and Walter Ciecierski, both of Lewistown; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Manice) Peace, Blandon; a sister, Gladys Plessinger, Palmyra; ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Pry, and seven brothers and two sisters. He retired from American Viscose in 1978 with 49 years. He was also self-employed with Ciecierski Plumbing and Heating. He was a charter member of Calvary Bible Church and a member on various boards of the church. He was also a member on many bowling leagues and the senior games, and of Juniata Terrace Borough Council. He was a member of the Sportsmen Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Union, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Margaret (Summers) Drake. Her husband, John Ciecierski, whom she married in 1934, survives at Outlook Pointe, Reedsville. Also surviving are three children, Gary Ciecierski, Walter Ciecierski, both of Lewistown, and Mrs. Robert (Manice) Peace of Blandon; a sister, Irma Quay of Kentucky; ten grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Pry, and two brothers. She was employed at American Viscose Corp. and the Empire Kosher plant. She was charter member of Calvary Bible Church, involved with lady's Bible Class and Missionary Society of the Church. MIFFLIN - Gerald F. "Jerry" Cisney, 62, of Locust Grove Retirement Village, HC-67, Mifflin and formerly of RR!, Thompsontown, died at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, at the village. Born May 7, 1939, in Derry Township, Mifflin County, he was the son of the late Budd A. and Margaret J. (Bossert) Cisney. Surviving are: two sons, Robert C. Cisney and his wife Laurie, Mexico, PA, and David W. Cisney and his wife Kristi, Mifflin; a sister, Mrs. James (Nancy) Heckler, Harrisburg; and five grandchildren, Victoria F. Cisney, Ricky W. Cisney, Amber B. Eby, Matthew D. Parsley and Nicholas E. Cisney. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Cisney, David Cisney, and a sister, Margaret "Peggy" Geedey. He was a 1957 graduate of Juniata Joint High School. He retired with 31 years of service as a Mail Processor for the United States Postal Service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He had been a member of the Tuscarora Softball Association, Mifflin, and had been a Little League Baseball and Football coach. Wilson Warner Civitts
NASHVILLE, TN - Wilson Warner Civitts, 90, died Oct. 29, 2002, in Nashville, TN, where family graveside services and burial were held at Harpeth Hills Cemetery. Born in Belleville, he was a member of the 1929 Class of Belleville High School, he graduated from Penn State University and had a lengthy career as an industrial engineer. For more than fifty years he resided in Nashville and was a member of First Lutheran Church where he was active in many capacities. Surviving are: his wife, Margaret (Cross) Civitts, Nashville; children, Frances Civitts Bryan and Glen Allen Civitts, Nashville; and Warner Wilson Civitts, New Iberia, LA; a sister, Anna Mary Brasuell, Allentown, Sarah Margaret Brubaker, Reedsville, and Camilla May Civitts and Jessie Pauline Walker, Belleville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother John Paul Civitts. He was a member of Edgefield Lodge #254, the Nashville Scottish Rite Bodies and a member of Al Menah Shrine Temple. Mary Jane (Kelly) Clark
LEWISTOWN - Mary Jane (Kelly) Clark, 87, a resident of Wm. Penn Nursing Center, Lewistown, formerly of E. Market St., Mt. Union, died at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at the nursing center. Born March 13, 1915, in Mount Union, she was a daughter of the late John Irvin and Minnie Mae (Carbaugh) Kelly. Her husband, George M. Clark, whom she married in 1946, preceded her in death in Oct., 1964. Surviving are: a son, Dennis Kelly Clark, Lewistown; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by threee brothers and two sisters, Clifton, Clair and Calvin Kelly, Stella Price and Olive Brock. She graduated from Mt. Union High School, Class of 1933. She first started working for the Huntingdon Co. Board of Assistance, Huntingdon, in March, 1934. She worked in the clerical department and in later years did casework and interviewing as an Income Maintenance Worker. She retired in April, 1974, with 36 years of total service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mt. Union, past president and secretary of the Berean Sunday School Class and a member of the Administrative Board. She first started to teach Sunday School at age 16. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Executive Board. She was also a member of the Mt. Union Civic Club and did volunteer work for the Mt. Union Red Cross Bloodmobile and Cancer Crusade fund drives. She was a former director of the Juniata Foundation for the Blind, Huntingdon Branch and a member of the Board of Directors for the Lewistown Branch of the Juniata Foundation for the Blind. She delivered Meals on Wheels in Mt. Union for one year. She served on the Reunion Committee for her high school class. Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mt. Union, with the Rev. Robert Davidson officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Union Cemetery. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday, and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Friday, at the funeral home.

Althea Cleck
MARYSVILLE - Althea (Cupp) Cleck, 90, of Marysville, formerly of Mifflintown, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at her home. Born Feb. 14, 1912, in Mifflintown, she was the daughter of the late Oscar W. and Blanche (Hower) Cupp. She was the widow of Edward D. Cleck. Surviving are: children, Dennis E. Cleck, Hanover, Nancy C. Lewis, Marysville, and Susan C. Renninger, Carlisle; a half-brother, Donald O. Cupp, Tampa, FL; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was a retired RN from the Lewistown Hospital. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Marysville and the Lecturn Sunday school Class of the church. She was also a member of the Alumni Association of Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, the Marysville Golden Age Club, and the Marysville--Rye Senior Citizens. Her funeral service will be held 10:30 p.m. Monday at Wesley United Methodist Church, Marysville. Interment will be in the Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown. Friends may call 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to her church, 450 Sylvan Street, Marysville, PA 17053 or to the Charity of your choice. Samuel E. Cleck
MIFFLIN - Samuel E. Cleck, 81, of HC-67, Mifflin, died at 2:02 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Nov. 26, 1920, in Walker Township, Juniata County, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Eagler) Cleck. His wife, Dorothy (Lauver) Cleck, whom he married Oct. 12, 1946, survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Cynthia Cleck Smith of RR2 Mifflintown and Emma C. Watkin and her husband, Thomas S., of RR2 McAlisterville; three sisters, Mrs. Wilbur (Kathryn) Zendt of RR4 Mifflintown, Mrs. James (Mary) Graham of RR1 Port Royal and Mrs. Joseph (Janet) Kovalick of New Cumberland; four grandchildren, Zachary Smith, Alyson Smith, Scott Samuel Watkin and Lydia Beth Watkin. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Stephen William Cleck; two brothers, Jay Cleck and Charles Cleck; and a sister, Anna Fleisher. He was a 1938 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown. He was a World War II veteran, serving the U.S. Army in the European Theater. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown, where he was a former Sunday School teacher and had served on the church council. He had been a member and past president of the Mifflintown Lions Club and also enjoyed volunteering for the Juniata County Meals of Wheels. He retired from the former Fermanagh Building and Loan, Mifflintown, in 1985. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Messiah Lutheran Church, corner of Third Street and Washington Avenue, Mifflintown, with Rev. Louise Knotts officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville. There will be no public viewing but friends may call 7-9 p.m. today at the Mifflintown Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown. The family will provide all funeral flowers and requests memorial contributions be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 3 S. Third St., Mifflintown, PA 17059 or to Juniata County Meals on Wheels, 9 Cross St., Mifflintown, PA 17059.

Edwin L. Clouser
EAST WATERFORD - Edwin L. Clouser, 53, of RR1, East Waterford, died at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lewistown Hospital. Born Aug. 18, 1949 in Lack Township, Juniata County, he was a son of Helen (Reeder) Clouser, RR1, East Waterford and the late Paul Clouser. His wife, Shirley (Gibbons) Clouser, survives. Also surviving are: a son, Michael A. Clouser, RR1, East Waterford; a daughter, Pamela A. Clouser, Port Royal; two brothers, Stephen R. Clouser and David P. Clouser both of RR1, East Waterford; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Korea. He retired from Letterkenney Army Depot and was employed as a truck driver for Juniata Concrete, Mifflintown. He was a member of Cross Keys Church of God and Cross Keys Conservation Club. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday from the Henry Funeral Home, Honey Grove with Pastor Frances Smith officiating. Interment will be in East Waterford Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday with the family present from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Emory A. Clouser
MILROY - Emory A. Clouser, 72, of 452 Locke Mills Road, Milroy, died at 9:20 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at his residence. Born April 28, 1930, in East Waterford, he was a son of the late Emory R. and Edith (Fortney) Clouser. His wife, Shirley E. Yeater, whom he married Jan. 11, 1953, survives. Also surviving are: two children, Mrs. Charles (Nancy) McKnight, Reedsville, Dana R. Clouser, Reedsville; five siblings, Mrs. Jimmy (Pearl) James, Port Royal, Mrs. Melvin (Bertha) Holbert, Shade Gap, Mrs. Donald (Hazel) Burdge, East Waterford, Mrs. Sara Overcash, Chambersburg, James Clouser, East Waterford; four grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: a great-granddaughter, Katie Amber Rossman and three brothers, Paul, John and Mike Clouser. He retired from Ford New Holland with 38 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the St. Marks United Methodist Church, Havice Valley. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville with the Rev. L. Ed. Moore officiating. Interment will be in the Birch Hill Cemetery, Burnham. Genevieve Alice "Jenny" Clouser
MCALISTERVILLE - Genevieve Alice "Jenny" (Lawhead) Clouser, 90, of McAlisterville, and formerly of Curwensville, passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2002 at the Lewistown Hospital. A longtime resident of Curwensville, she had resided in McAlisterville for the past six years. Born March 15, 1911 in Pike Township, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and R. Avis (Dressler) Lawhead. Her husband, John Blair Clouser, whom she wed August 14, 1934 preceded her in death on July 11, 1995. Surviving are: a son, John B. "Jack" and his wife Betty Clouser Jr., Mifflintown, and a daughter, Mrs. Clive (Shirley) Riddiford, Copley, OH; grandchildren, Pam and her husband Tim Spigelmyer, Dennis and his wife Robin Clouser, Brian and his wife Dawn Clouser, Keith and his wife Betsy Riddiford, Jill and her husband Marc Champagne and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Theodore Lawhead, and sisters, Esther Hummel, Annabel Bell, Ruth Thomas, Muriel Nelson, Isabel Sellman and Dorothy Fairman. She was a homemaker and mother, and for several years she worked for the Curwensville Municipal Authority. She attended the Trinity Lutheran Church, McAlisterville, and was a member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church. Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Curwensville United Methodist Church, 602 State St., Curwensville, with the Rev. Donald Hurley and Marc Champagne co-officiating. Interment will be in the Centre Cemetery, Hyde, PA. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc., 300 State St., Curwensville, and from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday, at the church. Elizabeth D. 'Betty' Coffey
MIFFLINTOWN - Elizabeth D. "Betty" Coffey, 75, widow of Donald Coffey, died Friday, May 17, 2002. Born July 8, 1926, in Scotland, she was the daughter of William Mains and was raised by her beloved paternal grandparents. She came to Statton Island, NY to be a Nanny. She worked as a shirt presser for many years and also owned and operated the Coffey Cup Restaurant in Mifflintown. Services are private.

John Albert Cofield
THOMPSONTOWN - John Albert Cofield, 90, of Meda Nipple Convalescent Home, Thompsontown, died 11:07 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2002, at the convalescent home. Born Feb. 16, 1912, in Mt. Union, he was a son of the late John and Elizabeth (Hartman) Cofield. He was a Methodist by faith. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday in Juniata Memorial Park, with the Rev. Jacob T.
