MARTINSBURG - Ruth (Stahlman) Fabian, 82, of 430 S. Market Street, Apt. #301, Martinsburg, died at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2002, at Homewood at Martinsburg, Martinsburg. Her husband, whom she married July 15, 1941, the Rev. Eli R. Fabian, survives. Also surviving are: two sons, Ronald M. Fabian of Leesport, and Charles E. Fabian of Lewistown; one sister, Miriam F. Slicker of Huntingdon; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Fabian and her husband ministered in the United Church of Christ, serving the following congregations: Redbank Charge, Clarion County; New Hamburg & Transfer Charge, Mercer County; Zion Charge, Somerset County; Salem & Belnap Charge, Armstrong County; Mifflinburg Charge, Union County; Beaver Charge, Clarion County. A funeral service and committal service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, with the Reverends Gary H. MILROY - Alice M. Fairbanks, 76, of 73 N. Main St., Milroy, died at 3:45 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, Lewistown. Born June 19, 1925, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late William B. and Edith M. (Wilson) Morningstar. Her husband, Jack E. Fairbanks, preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 1999. Surviving are: children, Ronald P. Cutshall, Reedsville, Iva E. McCartney, Mt. Union, Margaret G. Weaver, Milroy, Edward E. Fairbanks, Milroy, Jack E. Fairbanks, Burnham, Charles W. Fairbanks, Lewistown, Robert D. Fairbanks, Belleville, and Thomas Lee Fairbanks, Milroy; brothers, Charles Morningstar, Shirleysburg, and Earnest Morningstar, Shirleysburg; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She had worked for Penn Hunt Hotel, Huntingdon, and at Empire Kosher, Mifflintown. Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with the Rev. Helen C. Fanus
GARDNERS - Helen C. Fanus, of 120 Frost Road, Gardners, passed away Sunday Dec. 29, 2002, in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center. Born in Port Royal, she was a daughter of the late Frances and Gertrude (Crawford) Cooper. Her husband, Kenneth E., survives. Also surviving are: three daughters, Kathryn F. Arnold, Baltimore, MD, Judith F. Davis, Blacksburg, VA, and Linda K. Fanus, Grey, Maine; and four grandchildren. She retired from the former Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot. She was a member of the Uriah United Methodist Church and the Ladies Sunday School Class #1. She was a former Sunday school teacher in Uriah children's depot and a former aid in the boiling Springs School District. She was a regular volunteer at Carlisle Regional Medical Center with 17 years of service. Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in her church at 925 Goodyear Road, Gardners with the Rev. Richard M. Barner officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Memorials may be sent to her church. Sarah E. 'Sally' Fauland
LEWISTOWN - Sarah E. "Sally" Fauland, 45, of 3398 SR 103 North, Lewistown, died at 9:40 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2002, at her residence. Born July 27, 1957, in Shamokin, she was a daughter of Ellia Marie (Fisher) Tinley of Danville and the late John Tinley Sr. Her fiance, Jack L. Sherlock with whom she resided, survives. Also surviving are: four children, Elizabeth L. Straub, at home, Charles J. Straub, Midland, TX, Henry R. Straub, Shamokin, and William A. Fauland, Lewistown; four sisters, Nancy Aspeck and Annie Tinley, both of Danville, Linda Kosher, Joann Tinley, both of Shamokin; two brothers, John Tinley Jr., and William Tinley, both of Shamokin; and seven grandchildren. She was a bus driver and monitor for the Mifflin County Child Development Program Head Start from 1993 to present. She was a member of Lewistown VFW Post 7011, and Ladies of the Moose, Lewistown. Her memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday Dec. 21 at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown with Rev. George H. Mark officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no public viewing, however, family will receive friends from 12:30 until the time of the service at the funeral home. LEWISTOWN - Hazel E. Faux, 87, of 196 S. Main St., Kish Apt. 722, Lewistown, died at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at Ohesson Manor Nursing Home. Born Feb. 24, 1914, in White Deer, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Rhoda (Keister) Troutman. Her husband, Walter A. Faux, preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1974. Surviving are: daughters, Mrs. John (Shirley) Lommo, Church Hill, Reedsville, and Mrs. John (Bonita) Dwyer, Cape Canaveral, FL; sisters, Mrs. Thelma Boreman, Lewistown, and Mrs. Frank (Virginia) JayJeacks, Meadville; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard E. Faux, two brothers and three sisters. She was a waitress at the Elks Club, and was previously employed by House of Ideas and Arrow Shirt Factory. She was a Methodist by faith and a member of Women of the Moose. She ran a craft club at Kish Apts. for many years. LEWISTOWN - Dorothy E. "Betty" Feather, 79, formerly of Terrace Boulevard, Lewistown, died at 3:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at Ohesson Manor. Born Nov. 20, 1922, in Yeagertown, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Clara (Bartley) Beaver. Her husband, William E. Feather Jr., whom she married in 1967, survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Linda Kline of Lewistown; two brothers, Boyd Beaver of Strodes Mills and Richard Beaver of Lewistown; and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers. She worked in the cake converting department of American Viscose. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lewistown. LEWISTOWN - Alzira M. Ferenz, 76, of 40 French Drive, Lewistown, died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002 at her residence. Born March 19, 1925 in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of the late August and Maria (Lopes) Coelho. Her husband, George L. Ferenz Jr., preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 1998. Surviving are: children, George J. Ferenz III, Hagerstown, MD, John T. Ferenz, Lititz, Paul A. Ferenz, Carlisle, Mrs. Gary (Mary) Henry, Lewistown, and Elizabeth H. Ferenz, Lewistown; a brother, Alfred Coelho, Fall River, MA; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lewistown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Third St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Irvin J. Ferguson
LEWISTOWN - Irvin J. Ferguson, 79, of 1212 Glenwood Ave., Lewistown, died at 10:47 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Dec. 4, 1922, in McClure, he was the son of the late George and Margaret (Aitkins) Ferguson. His wife, Lottie Ferguson, preceded him in death on Dec. 29, 1979. Surviving are: children, Mrs. Terry (Mary) Hintz, Johnstown, George Ferguson, Painterville, and Mrs. Joseph (Hope) Lewis, Lewistown; a sister, Florence Renninger, McClure; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and two grandchildren. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. He retired from Standard Steel in 1983 with 43 years in the Transportation Dept. He was also a bus driver for Yoder's and Fisher Brothers. He was the owner of Fergies Salvage and Fergies Restaurant. His funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Barr Funeral Home Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. George Mark officiating. John W. Ferry
MCALISTERVILLE - John W. Ferry, 71, of Hillcrest Drive, McAlisterville, died at approximately 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at his residence. Born Dec. 26, 1930, in Snyder Co., he was the son of the late Arthur and Mary (Garman) Forrey. His wife, Alice M. (Graybill) Ferry, whom he married Sept. 24, 1950, survives. Also surviving are: three daughters, Rebecca L. Ames and her husband Herbert K., Crosswicks, NJ, Melissa D. Kerstetter and her husband Bradley W., McAlisterville, and Jennifer L. Heric and her husband Paul W., West Milford, NJ; two brothers, Warren Forrey, NE, and Clyde Ferry, Freeburg, and three sisters, Ruth Nailor, Middleburg, Thelma Shelley, McAlisterville, and Norma Henderson, CA; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Ferry and Donald Forrey. He was a 1949 graduate of Freeburg High School. For 40 years he was the Parts Manager for Roush and Lauver Motors, Leister Motors and Mertz Ford, all in McAlisterville, until his retirement in 1993. Currently he was employed, part-time as a courier for Allfirst Bank, Harrisburg. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran, serving in Korea, obtaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of the Richfield Mennonite Church where he was a member of the Sunday School Class #1, had served as treasurer of the church and chairman of the Auditing Committee. He was a former member of the Fayette Sportsman's Club. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed golfing and doing crossword puzzles. His funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday from the Richfield Mennonite Church, Richfield, with Pastor Jerry R. O'Connell officiating. Interment will follow in the Richfield Union Cemetery. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Saturday, at his church, the Richfield Mennonite Church, Richfield. RICHFIELD - Barbara Anna Ferster, 79, of Richfield, died at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at Evangelical Community Hospital. Born Nov. 24, 1922, in Snyder County, she was a daughter of the late Ellis Eugene and Lottie V. (Lauver) Ferster. Surviving are: a nephew, David A. Ferster and wife Victoria, Edinboro; three nieces, Janice F. Cromer and husband Rev. Douglas E., York, Marjorie F. Poorman and husband, Alan G., Ashland, OH, and Elizabeth A. Lehto and husband, Richard N., Toledo, OH; 14 great-nieces and nephews; 8 great-great nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Fern E. Ferster, Ashland, OH. Twila Marie Fiedler
MIFFLINTOWN - Twila Marie Fiedler, 90, of Mifflintown, RR3, died at 7 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2002, at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin. Born Aug. 20, 1922, in Orville, OH, she was a daughter of the late John Elmer and Elizabeth M. (Snavely) Strawser. Her first husband, John Wayne Clark, preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1963. Her second husband, whom she married Aug. 9, 1969, survives. Also surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. David (Joan Marie) Beaston, Mifflintown RR3, and a son, Richard John Clark, Millerstown; a sister, Olive M. Kratzer, Penn Lutheran Nursing Home, Selinsgrove; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was a housekeeper at Brookline Manor for more than 40 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mifflintown. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and birds. Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at The First Baptist Church, Mifflinown, with the Rev. Ronald L. Shupe officiating. Marlin H. Fields
LEWISTOWN - Marlin H. Fields, 66, of Lewistown, died at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at the Harrisburg General Hospital, Harrisburg. Born Dec. 18, 1935, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Walter and Ethel (Herrington) Fields. Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Leigh Ann) Kurz, Burke, VA and Mrs. Steve (Yvonne) Boozel, McVeytown; a sister, Mrs. Miles (Doris) Shaffer, Johnstown; four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. He was enrolled in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a 1954 graduate of Rothrock High School; a1958 graduate of Shippensburg State College; and also did graduate work at Penn State University. He was the owner and a realtor at Marlin H. Fields Real Estate for 20 years, from 1982 to present, early in life he was a High School teacher in Mt. Union, office manager for S.I. Yoder Oil Company, Belleville, he taught in the Business Department at the Mifflin/Juniata Vo-Tech School, Lewistown, was President of Mexico Forge, Inc., Reedsville, a controller at Fullington Bus Company, Clearfield, and a realtor for Phil Gingerich Real Estate, Lewistown. He was a member of McVeytown Presbyterian Church where he taught Sunday School and was a trustee. He was the director and past president of the Mifflin County Board of Realtors and the Central Pennsylvania Appraisal Institute, an original member of the Lewistown Solid Waste Authority, a member of the Lewistown Country Club, where he was a current and past member of the Board of Directors and past president several times, a current member of the Finance Committee and chairman of the Marketing Committee, a current member of the House Committee at Lewistown Country Club, a member of the State College Chamber of Commerce, and a yearly sponsor of the Marlin Fields Ladies Invitational Golf Tournament at the Lewistown Country Club to promote cancer awareness. His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Jeanette Rapp officiating. Dorene K. (Frank) Filson
LEWISTOWN - Dorene K. (Frank) Filson, 52, of 62 Spanogle Ave., Lewistown, died at 11 a.m. Friday Sept. 6, 2002, at her residence. Born July 7, 1950, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late William A. and Sarah Elizabeth (Ferguson) Frank. Her husband, George F. Filson, whom she married Dec. 3, 1977,survives. Also surviving are: four siblings, Donna Lee Frank, Yeagertown, Mrs. Stanley (Linda) Goss,McClure, twin sister Mrs. Alfred (Darlene) Elder, Yeagertown, William A. "Bill" Frank, Belleville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a niece, Elizabeth Allison Goss in 2001. She was a graduate of Chief Logan High School, Class of 1969. She was employed as a cook at Gail & Tina's Restaurant, Burnham, she also helped manage the Sno-Kone concession stand every year at the Grange Fair, Centre Hall. She was a member of the Holy Communion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Yeagertown, she also attended Bible Baptist Church, Burnham. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Lewistown, the Moose Lodge and the Ladies Auxiliary Burnham Eagles Club. Her favorite past time was playing bingo. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown with the Rev. John S. Walters officiating. Willie M. Finister
MILROY - Willie M. Finister, 41, of 143 N. Main St., Milroy, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, in York, PA. Born Nov. 6, 1960, in Baton Rouge, he was a son of Dr. Rev. Willie and the late Elaine (Vallery) Finister Sr. His fianceé, Teresa Allen of Milroy, survives. Funeral services were held in Baton Rouge. A memorial service will be held Saturday, at the Milroy CMA Church, 46 Elm St., Milroy.

George M. Firth
WARRENSVILLE - George M. Firth, 82, of Warrensville, died May 1, 2002 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport. Born Dec. 8, 1919, in Burnham, he was the son of the late Herbert W. and Myrtle James Firth. His wife, Genevieve Firth, preceded him in death on Dec. 11, 1993. Surviving are: a fiance, Lt. Col. Ret. A.U.S. Lorna I. Zettle; one son and his family, Herbert W. Firth of Pittsburgh; a brother, William Firth, Montoursville; and two sisters, Laura Zong, Lewistown, and Katherine Neil, Fresno, CA. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He loved golf and was an avid fisher man. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the First Presbyterian Church, 102 E. Third St., Williamsport. Interment will be in the Mound Cemetery, Williamsport. The family will provide the flowers. LANCASTER - Gladys M. Wertz Fisher, 87, of 1800 Village Circle, Lancaster and formerly of Sylvan Place in Susquehanna Township, died Friday March 1, 2002, in Homestead Village. She was the wife of the late Raymond E. Fisher, former pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, Harrisburg. She is survived by a son, Rev. David E. Fisher of Millersville; two daughters, Christine F. Gast of North Huntingdon and Sylvia Kojcsich of Springfield, VA; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was a graduate of Shippensburg University and was employed with the Harrisburg School District, teaching at Lincoln School. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Retired School Teachers and the National Association of Retired School Teachers. She was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Penbrook, the Harrisburg Womens League of Gettysburg College, and Frey Village Auxiliary and Lutheran Church Women. Born March 10, 1915, in Yeagertown, she was the daughter of the late Harry B. and Ardella (Hoover) Hutchinson. Her husband, Ray H. Fleming Sr., preceded her in death in 1995. Surviving are: children, Kenneth E. Fleming, Rebersburg, and Ray H. Fleming Jr., Wysox; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Early in life she worked for F.M.C., and at Flemings Hardware Store, Yeagertown, for 16 years. She was also secretary of the Mifflin County School District. She was a life member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church, Yeagertown, and P.S.E.R.S. Born May 12, 1948, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Charles Donald Fluke Sr., who preceded him in death on Dec. 22, 1990 and Ruby J. (Aumiller) Fluke, who preceded him in death on Feb. 3, 1987. He is survived by one brother, Randy Fluke of Burnham. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles D. Fluke on Sept. 23, 1990. He was a substitute teacher with the Mifflin County School District and a tax assessor at Mifflin County Courthouse. He was a 1966 graduate of Kishacoquillas High School. He had a Bachelor's Degree from Mansfield State University and a Master's Degree from Penn State. He was a member of the Milroy Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Republican Party. His funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with the Rev. Robert L. Zorn officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy. Robert O. "Bobby" Fogleman
MIFFLINTOWN - Robert O. "Bobby" Fogleman, 58, of RR1, Mifflintown, died at 1:20 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born Nov. 26, 1943, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Lloyd E. and Frances (Wagner) Fogleman Sr. His wife, Sally R. (Britcher) Fogleman, whom he married June 14, 1964, survives. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate family having been preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd E. Fogleman Jr. and Dale L. Fogleman, and two sisters, Blanche Hansley and Mary Wyona Gentzel. He attended East Juniata High School. He was employed as a welder for Excel Homes, Liverpool and early in life he was employed by Hemp Bros., Camp Hill. He had attended Grace Covenant Church, RR2, Thompsontown. He was a member of the Rodeo Association. His hobbies include roping, training and riding horses. His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grace Covenant Church, RR2, Thompsontown, with Dennis Casey, Rose of Sharon Ministry Director, officiating. Elinor L. Folk
LEWISTOWN - Elinor L. Folk, 89, formerly of 704 Valley St. and Kish Apartments, Lewistown, died at 12:50 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at Ohesson Manor Nursing Home. Born Dec. 26, 1912 in Milroy, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Minnie (Hoffman) Henry. Her husband, Joseph A. Folk, preceded her in death on March 23, 1988. Surviving are: children, Donald J. Folk, Naples, FL, and Mrs. Walter (Joyce) DeVerter, Mechanicsburg; a sister, Mabel George, Ohesson Manor Nursing Home, Lewistown; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters. Early in life she was employed at the American Viscose Corporation, and later owned and operated the Ritz Grill, Lewistown. She was last employed as a cafeteria monitor at Lewistown High School. She was a member of Holy Communion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Yeagertown, and City Hook and Ladder Fire Company. Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Clifford R. Miller Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery, Lewistown. Friends may call from noon until the time of the service Monday, at the funeral home. Eva C. Folk
McCLURE - Eva C. Folk, 76, a resident of Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, and formerly of RD1, McClure, died at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at the nursing home. Born Oct. 28, 1925, in Decatur Township, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mertie (Snook) Arnold. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bruce E. Kearns, in 1973. Her husband, Berton L. Folk, whom she married June 19, 1976, survives. Also surviving are: a son, Dale E. Kearns, 1861 Snook Rd., McClure; step-children, Berton E. Folk, Reedsville, Robert W. Folk, Mifflin, Raymond Folk, Mifflin, Donald L. Folk, Lewistown, Russell Folk, Georgia, Paul Folk, Harrisburg, Mrs. David (Ruth Ann) Bender, Lewistown, and Alan Folk, Lewistown; brothers and sisters, Paul E. Arnold, McClure, Miriam Adams, McClure, and Boyd Arnold, York; one grandchild, 18 step grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, Paige Kearns, and numerous step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Arnold. She was employed as a chef for 26 years at Lewistown Hospital before retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Salvation Army, Lewistown, Women's Home League of the Church, a former member of the Democratic Committee Women in Decatur Township, and a renown area cook. Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with Major Eddie Purvis officiating. Interment will be in Lawver's Cemetery, McClure. Florence I. Foltz
MIFFLINTOWN - Florence I. Foltz, 73, of RR3 Mifflintown, died at 2:55 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at Lewistown Hospital. Born Sept. 30, 1928, in Milford Township, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Clara Fisher Nealman O'Donnell. Her husband, Robert S. Foltz, preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 1996. Surviving are two sons, Kenneth R. Foltz and Donald E. Foltz, both of RR3 Mifflintown; a daughter, Joyce Graybill of RR2, Mifflintown; three brothers, Paul A. Nealman, Harold E. O'Donnell Sr. and Ralph L. O'Donnell, all of RR3 Mifflintown; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Marie Zeiders; a half-brother, John Robert O'Donnell; a sister, Anna Pacholski; and two infant grandsons. She worked as a presser for the Mifflin Dry Cleaners and Speedy Cleaners, and as a cook at Zimmie's Diner. She enjoyed fishing and playing cards. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Route 35 and Ridge Road, Mifflintown, with Mr. Michael Wagner officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephen's Lutheran Cemetery, Licking Creek. A viewing will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown. Gordon W. 'Pop' Foose Sr.
MILLERSTOWN - Gordon W. 'Pop' Foose Sr., 64, of Perry Valley Road, Millerstown, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at Harrisburg Hospital. Born Aug. 9, 1938, in Greenwood Township, he was a son of the late David and Lottie (McGowan) Foose. His wife, Violet (Swartz) Foose, survives. Also surviving are: two sons, Gordon "Chuck" Foose Jr., Liverpool, and Maurice "Andy" Foose, New Buffalo; three daughters, Brenda Rogalski, New Buffalo, Doris Foose, Millerstown, and Wendy Verdensky, Harrisburg; two brothers, David and William Foose, both of Millerstown; three sisters, Phyllis Kramer, McAlisterville, Doris Bookwalter, Seven Stars, and Maxine Long, Liverpool; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lana M. Harman and a brother, Harry Foose. He was a Navy veteran. He retired from Hempt Bros. He attended the Church of the Living Water and the Central Baptist Church. He was also a member of Sure Shot Gun Club, Potter County, Susquehanna Sportsmen's Club and AmVets, Thompsontown. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren. His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at David M. Myers Funeral Home, Newport. Interment will be in Wrights Presbyterian Cemetery, Millerstown with full military honors. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday and from 12 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Steven J. Foose
Steven J. Foose, 45, of McAlisterville, died Wednes-day, Nov. 20, 2002, at Hershey Medical Center as a result of injuries suffered in an accident at work. Born March 30, 1957, he was the son of Nancy (Bowen) Foose of Port Royal RR3 and the late Harry H. Foose Sr. His wife, Brenda L. (Nepper) Foose, whom he married June 19, 1977, survives. Also surviving are: one son, Steven Matthew Foose, at home; brothers and sister, Harry H. "Herb" Foose Jr., Mifflintown, Michael E. Foose and Cindy J. Horning, both of McAlisterville RR2, Fred A. Foose, Mifflintown RR5, and Jerry L. Foose, Port Royal RR3. He was preceded in death by a brother, Scott L. Foose. He was a forklift operator at C&S Wholesale Distribution, Manada Hill. He was a member of the AmVets, the Millerstown Moose, the Mifflintown VFW, the Mifflintown American Legion, and the Thompsontown Lions Club. He enjoyed hunting fishing, and racing. He was a NASCAR fan of Mark Martin and his favorite sprint car racer was Keith Kauffman. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with Rev. Forrest Gordon officiating. Interment will be in the New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal. Although there will not be a public viewing, the family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Hilda C. Ford
LEWISTOWN - Hilda C. Ford, 93, of 135 Stine Dr., Lewistown, died at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at the home of her grandson, 178 Kingston Ln. Extended, Lewistown. Born Dec. 10, 1908, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Samuel P. and Julia (Shaffer) Snavely. Her husband, Leon M. Ford, preceded her in death on July 15, 1998. Surviving are: a son, Robert L. Ford; and three grandchildren, Ryan, Lori, and Jessica Ford. She was preceded in death by seven sisters. Early in life she was employed at the American Viscose and later she was employed at Mussettia's for 10 years as a sales clerk. She was a member of Lewistown Presbyterian Church. Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Robert Zorn officiating.
