Rosalie F. Neal Kellerman, 70 of Blairsville (Derry Township) died Sunday March 13, 2005 at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh. The daughter of William G. E. and Helen A. C. (Weigscheider) Neal, she was born April 15, 1934 in Brenizer. Surviving are her husband of 45 years Joseph L. Kellerman Jr. whom she married Aug. 1, 1959; two daughters Jodi Myers and her husband Gary of Derry and Dianne Hughes and her husband Wade of Simpsonville, S. C.; three grandchildren, Jason Patz, Justin Patz and Michael Hughes; two brothers William Neal and his wife Lillian of Lorain, Ohio and Rev. Robert Neal and his wife Linda of Washington, PA. and two sisters Ruth King and her husband John of Latrobe and Carol Showalter and her husband Chris of Coplay, Pa. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son William J. Kellerman. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Shoemaker Funeral Home Inc. 49 N. Walnut St. Blairsville. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Raymond Kerr officiating. Interment will be in Blairsville.

LEAH NEWHOUSE
Leah Elizabeth McClain Newhouse 95 of Greensburg, formerly of Blairsville died Monday Dec. 6, 1999 at the Loyalhanna Care Center in Latrobe. Born June 7, 1904 in Blairsville she was the daughter of Walter R. and Laura M. Kelly McClain. She lived most of her life in Blairsville, where she was a member of the Hebron Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Thelma Mae Rebekah Lodge 253. Prior to her retirement she was an employee of Bell Telephone. Surviving are a sister Mrs. Charlotte Lowman, Greensburg and a nephew Edward A. Lowman, Orlando, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband, Edward E. Newhouse, who died in 1964 and a brother Roy McClain. Friends will be received at the Richard L. Shoemaker Funeral Home in Blairsville on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the time of services with the Rev. Paul L. Carter officiating. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery.

EDWARD E. NEWHOUSE
EDWARD E. NEWHOUSE, 64 of 124 South Brady Street Blairsville passed away Tuesday November 17, 1964 in the Latrobe Hospital. A son of John and Cora Altman Newhouse he was born Dec. 17, 1899 in Westmoreland County. He was the husband of Leah McClain Newhouse who survives. A retired boilermaker for the Pennsylvania Railroad Company Mr. Newhouse was a member of the Hebron Lutheran Church of Blairsville and the following organizations: I00F 436 Blairsville; BPOE 406 Blairsville; William Penn Club of Greensburg, PA.; Veterans Employee Association of the Conemaugh Division P. R. R. In addition to his wife mentioned above he is also survived by one brother, Robert Newhouse, Los Angeles, California and one sister Mrs. Don (Marie) Alonzo, Jeannette. Friends are being received at the Richard K. Shoemaker Funeral Home Blairsville where services will be conducted on Thursday at 2 p.m. the Rev. J. M. Robbins will officiate and interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery.

Alfred Charles Newhouse
Alfred Charles Newhouse aged 57 a Pennsylvania Railroad brakeman died unexpectedly at 6:30 o'clock yesterday morning in his home at 189 Morewood Ave. Blairsville. Dr. E. L. Fleming County coroner said death resulted from a heart attack. He had been employed by the railroad company for a number of years. The deceased was born in Jacksonville, Jan. 15, 1890, a son of John and Cora (Aultman) Newhouse. Mr. Newhouse was a member of the Blairsville Lutheran Church and of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. Surviving are his widow, the former LaVerne Spiess, and three children: Mrs. Eleanor Thomas, Salem, O., and Mrs. Marion Clark and Mrs. Mildred Watson both of Blairsville. He was a brother of Harry N. and Edward Newhouse, both of Blairsville and Robert, Los Angeles, Cal., Mrs. C. R. Allison, Canton, O., and Mrs. Donald Alonzo, Jeannette. Five grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o;clock Wednesday afternoon in the Newhouse home by Rev. James Frank. Interment in Blairsville cemetery, under direction of the Ferguson Funeral Home, Blairsville.

Thomas F. Eales
Thomas Francis Eales aged 24 years and 28 days died February 19 [1924] at his home in Cokeville. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Eales and the following brothers and sisters: John, Charles, Louise and Dorothy Eales all at home; Mrs. H. A. Newhouse of Cokeville and Mrs. Philip Short of Bolivar. He was a veteran of the World War and served with Co. L, 110th Infantry of Blairsville. Funeral services were held in the M. E. Church of Cokeville of which the deceased was a member at two o'clock February 22, conducted by Rev. Davis and interment was made in the Blairsville cemetery.

Helen Newhouse Cowan
Seamstress
Helen M. Cowan, 85, formerly of Derry Lane, Blairsville died Saturday March 24, 2001 at Beacon Manor, Indiana. She was born January 8, 1916 in Cokeville, daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Newhouse. She was a seamstress at the former Fours Co. and was a member of Eastern Star and the Eagles Auxiliary 1488, both of Blairsville. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband John L. "Jack" on Dec. 30, 1979 sisters Violet Iscrupe and Florence Yoh and brother Ralph H. Newhouse. Surviving are her sister Sarah Wilson Freedom and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Ferguson Funeral Home Blairsville with the Rev. Dean E. Byrom officiating. Interment followed in Blairsville Cemetery.

Helen Cowan
Helen M. Cowan 85, formerly of Derry Lane, Blairsville, died Saturday March 24, 2001 at Beacon Manor, White Township. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home in Blairsville, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Dean E. Byrom officiating. Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery.

Accident Results Fatally
January 19, 1927
Mrs. Newhouse aged 25 years, wife of Harry Newhouse, of Cokeville, died on January 15th as the result of injuries in an automobile accident which occurred several weeks ago. Her husband and five children survive her. Burial was made Tuesday in the Blairsville cemetery.

Harry Albert Newhouse
Harry Albert Newhouse passed away April 9, at his home, 260 Railroad Avenue, Blairsville. A son of John and Cora Altman Newhouse, born April 19, 1892, in Lewisville, PA the deceased had been a resident of Blairsville his entire life time. A conductor on the Pennsylvania Railroad, he had been a member of the Brotherhood of Trainmen. Surviving are his wife, Hulda Reed Newhouse and four daughters, Mrs. Helen Cowan,Mrs. Violet Iscrupe of Blairsville; Mrs. Sara Wilson, Freedom, and Mrs. Florence Yoh, Bethel, PA; Two step-daughters, Dorothy Hammer, Cleveland, Ohio, and Mary Tio, Blairsville; three step-sons. Albert Reed, Arlington, VA;Eugene Held, Cleveland, Ohio;Charles Held, Neward, N. J. ; Two brothers, Edward of Blairsville and Robert of California;and two sisters, Mrs. Marie Alonzo, Glassport, and Mrs. Ethel Allison, Canton, Ohio. Friends will be received at the Shoemaker Funeral home until 2:30 p.m. Monday April 12 when services will be conducted there by the Rev. John N. Hempstead. Interment will follow in the Blairsville cemetery.

Mrs. Rose Witt
WITT Mrs. Rose 63, 561 Fairfield Avenue dies at 10:45 p.m. July 2, 1950, in her home. Born Feb. 13, 1887 in Johnstown, daughter of James and Sophia (Bowser) McMahon. Survived by two brothers--James McMahon, South Fork, and William , Natrona, and two sisters--Miss Emma and Miss Ruth, both of Pittsburgh. Friends received Monday at A. A. Wagner Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. Norman E. Koehler. Interment, Benshoff Hill Cemetery.

Samuel H. Witt
WITT Samuel H. 69 of 561 Fairfield Avenue, died at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 27, 1956, at home of sister Mrs. Carrie Yurt, with whom he resided. Born Aug. 16, 1887 in Johnstown, a son of John F. and Catherine (Fry) Witt.. Preceded in death by wife, the former Rose McMahon, who died six years ago. Survived by sister, mentioned. Friends received after 11 a.m. Wednesday at late home. Service there at 2 p.m. Friday. Interment, Grandview Cemetery, Military rites will be conducted by Johnstown Post 294 American Legion.

DEATH OF MRS. BOWSER
Aged West Taylor Township Woman
Passes Away After an Illness lasting Six Weeks.
Mrs. Rosanna Smith Bowser widow of Isaac B. Bowser died this morning at 4:10 o'clock at the Bowser homestead in West Taylor Township after an illness lasting six weeks aged seventy-eight years and five months. The deceased was a daughter of Peter and Anna Smith and was born near Osterburg, Bedford County. She was one of a family of five children and is the third of the number to pass away. Her surviving brother is Samuel Smith of Osterburg and Mrs. Hannah Young of Ryat is a sister. The deceased was married twice the first time to Aaron Bowser who was killed in an accident in West Taylor Township about fifty years ago.The second husband was Isaac B Bowser brother of Aaron Bowser and he died below Coopersdale about six years ago. Both husbands were Union soldiers during the Rebellion. Mrs. Bowser is survived by the following children: George C Bowser of Decker Avenue, Mrs. Elizabeth Clevenger of the Nine-tenth Ward; Benjamin F, Adolphus G, and Bryan M Bowser all of West Taylor Township. She is also survived by thirty grandchildren and twenty- two great-grandchildren. The funeral will take place on Monday. The remains will be lifted at noon and services are to be held in the Benshoff Hill Church of the Brethren at 1:30 o'clock by the Rev. W. E. Bassett, pastor of the Franklin-street Evangelical Church, Interment will be made in the church cemetery.

ISAAC B. BOWSER IS DEAD
Well-Known Civil War Veteran Passed Away in West Taylor This Forenoon.
Funeral on Friday
Isaac B. Bowser who served two enlistments in the Rebellion, died at his home in West Taylor Township shortly before noon to-day, in his seventy-eighth year. He is survived by his daughters together with a number of grandchildren. The funeral will take place at noon on Friday from the church on Benshoff Hill, where the Rev. W. E. Bassett will have charge of the services. The funeral will be held under the auspices of Emory Fisher Post 30, G. A. R. of which Mr. Bowser was a member.

Isaac B. Bowser
Isaac B. Bowser who died shortly before noon yesterday at his home in West Taylor Township was born in Blair County in March 1828 and was a brother of David Bowser who is still a resident of that county. Isaac Bowser came to Johnstown over fifty years ago and had since resided in this vicinity. He was a carpenter by trade and worked in that capacity for the Cambria Iron Company soon after that concern began operations here in 1853. The greater part of his life was spent in farming in West Taylor Township. The cause of his death was cancer. He had been confined to his home since Christmas. The deceased was married twice, the first time to Kate Stombaugh, a sister of John Stombaugh, of Coopersdale, and the second time to Rose Ann Smith. His first wife died about forty years ago. He is survived by his second wife and the following children: William F of Morrellville; Jacob L of Kansas City, MO., Jane wife of George Leadbeater of Morrellville and Margaret wife of Arthur McMillen of West Taylor Township children of the first union: Benjamin, Adolphus Grant, and Bryan Morrell Bowser, of West Taylor Township children of the second union. Isaac B. Bowser served two enlistments in the Rebellion, the first in Company A. One Hundred and Thirty-Third Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers, under Capt Abraham Kopelln having enlisted for nine months in August 1862. the second one was in Company K One Hundred and Eighty-Seventh Regiment P V under Capt. George G. Lovett, he enlisted in this regiment in May 1864. this regiment was for the funeral obsequles of President Lincoln in April 1865. it was assigned to the head of the procession on its way from the B & O Station to Independence Hall, Philadelphia and was left as guard of honor while the remains lay in state in the Quaker City. Mr. Bowser was a member of Emory Fisher Post 30, Grand Army of the Republic and was identified with the Garfield Street Evangelical Church in Morrellville. The funeral will take place at 12 o'clock Friday when the Rev. William E Bassett, pastor of the Evangelical Church will conduct the obsequles at the church on Benshoff Hill. The remains will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. The officers of Emory Fisher Post will have charge of the funeral.

MRS. MARY BOWSER IS CALLED BY DEATH
Succumbs Following Emergency Operation; Husband in Hospital
Admitted to Memorial Hospital two days after her husband underwent an operation there, Mrs. Mary (McMahon) Bowser 49 wife of J. Frank Bowser of New Florence, died at the Eighth Ward institution about 1 o'clock yesterday morning. Mr. Bowser, also 49 years of age was admitted to the hospital last Monday and underwent an operation on Tuesday. He is to return home today. His wife was admitted on Thursday suffering of a complication of ailments. Her condition was regarded as critical on her admission and on Saturday afternoon she underwent an emergency operation from which she failed to rally. Mr. and Mrs. Bowser formerly resided in Johnstown. Surviving the deceased in addition to her husband are two children; Sarah and Leroy, both at home; three brothers, John McMahon of C Street, Johnstown; Peter McMahon of New Kensington and James McMahon of Cresson; Two sisters, Mrs. Samuel Witt of St. Clair Road and Miss Emma McMahon of Pittsburgh, and her step-father Fred Clevenger of Belsano. While a resident of Johnstown Mrs. Bowser was a member of the First Evangelical Church. Funeral Services will be conducted at the Bowser home in New FLorence on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. the services will be in charge of Rev. Norman Koehler Sr., pastor of the New Florence church.

Ernest Merton (BUD) Misner, 48, Homer City R. D. #1 near Vintondale, died Oct. 9, 1956 in Memorial Hospital. Husband of Eva (Staff) Misner Who survives along with father-Henry Misner, Vintondale, 2 sons; Kenneth, Homer City, R. D. #1 and Robert, U. S. Army, Germany, now home on Furlough, 3 daughters, Geraldine, wife of Donald Settle, Belsano; and Elaine and Fay, both at home. 2 brothers - Edward, Vintondale; Richard, California and 3 sisters- Mrs. Charles Schultz, Homer City, R.D.; Mrs. Clyde McGinnis, Climax and Mrs. Albert McKeel, Vintondale. Also 1 grandchild. Friends received after noon Thursday at the late home & in the Gospel Community Church near Dilltown from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Rev. Preceded in death by father in 1945. survived by stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hodell, New Florence RD 2; 2 brothers William, Blairsville, and James, Washington D. Leona P. Long
Long -- Leona P., 77, Bolivar RD 1 died Oct. 4, 1990 at Latrobe Area Hospital. Born May 9, 1913 in Fairfield Township daughter of late Robert and Flora Mae (Devlin) Muir. Preceded in death by first husband Ralph C. Thompson, in 1940, second husband Lester A. Long, in 1989; grandson Robert Thompson; and one brother and three sisters. Survived by these sons, Andy Long, Bolivar RD 1; Ralph Thompson, New Kensington; and Robert Thompson, Bolivar RD 1; also 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
