PITTSBURGH - Donald L. Burger Sr., 71, of Pittsburgh, formerly of York and Titusville, died Oct. 23 at Oakland Veterans Administration Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was the husband of Mary L. (Mallard) Burger, who died April 23, 1997. The service and military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5958 were held at the Leo N. Hennes Funeral Home Inc. in Titusville. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery in Centerville, with full military honors. Visitation was held at the funeral home. Mr. Burger was born Nov. 28, 1929, in York. He was the son of the late Rosetta (Doyle) and Philip R. Burger Sr. He worked for the Green Thumb Program at Burgess Park in Titusville; prior to that, he was a welder at Samuels Steel of Erie. He was past commander of Bruce Shorts Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5958; a member of Cleo J. Ross American Legion Post 368 in Titusville; and a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Japan and at Fort Rucker, and receiving the Occupational Medal of Japan and the Army Occupation Medal of Germany. Mr. Burger is survived by a son, Donald L. Burger Jr. of Baltimore; a daughter, Pamela Robinson of Glen Burnie, Md.; five grandchildren; and a brother, Smyser Burger of York. Mr. Burger was preceded in death by a son, Ronald E. Burger. Officiating at the service was the Rev. Chauncey E. Depew, a retired Baptist minister. HANOVER - Doris A. Day, 80, of Hanover, died at 5:45 a.m. Sunday at the home of her daughter. She was the companion of Albert Eckenrode of Hanover and the wife of Denton W. Day, who died June 23, 1994. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hanover. There will be no viewing. The Kenworthy Funeral Home Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Day was born Aug. 14, 1921, in Hanover. She was the daughter of the late Felix and Anna Mae (Small) Funk. She was a waitress at the Hanover Moose, retiring after 35 years of service. Mrs. Day also is survived by three sons, Larry C. Day of New Oxford, Ronald D. Day of Indianaldo, Iowa, and Richard E. Day of Thomasville; two daughters, Barbara A. Watson and Leah M. Moul, both of Hanover; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred Funk of Hanover. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Scott A. Sager. Mr. Eutzy was born Oct. 25, 1948, in Chambersburg. He was the son of the late John L. and Gladys M. (Katzemoyer) Eutzy. He worked for Dillsburg Glass. Mrs. Hoke was born Sept. 14, 1938, in Hanover. She was the daughter of Helen (Baumgardner) Albin Fritz of New Oxford and the late Wilbur Albin. She was the stepdaughter of Curvin Fritz of New Oxford. She worked at Menchey Music for 19 years and then at Hills Department Store and Ames Department Store. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the ladies auxiliaries of Hanover American Legion, Amvets and Veterans of Foreign Wars; and a 1956 graduate of Hanover High School. Mrs. Hoke also is survived by two sons, John A. Hoke and Dan C. Hoke, both of Hanover; a granddaughter; five brothers, Ronald Albin of Westminster, Md., Roger Albin, Steven Albin and Karl Albin, all of Hanover, and Jim Albin of New Oxford; and two sisters, Shirley Arbushites of Hanover and Audrey Riordan of Virginia Beach, Va. The couple observed their 39th wedding anniversary June 16. A memorial service will be 8 p.m. Thursday at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., 24 Second St., New Freedom. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Mr. Koppelman was born Jan. 20, 1924, in Baltimore. He was the son of the late George C. and Margaret A. (Buchwald) Koppelman. He was a wholesale produce salesman at Edward G. Rahll and Son in Jessup, Md., retiring in 1994 after seven years of service; prior to that, he worked at various produce distributors in the Baltimore and Jessup areas. He was a member of Bethlehem Steltz Reformed Church in Glen Rock; and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross and two gold stars while serving in Iwo Jima, Marcus Islands and Tokyo Bay. Mr. Koppelman also is survived by a son, William W. Schuldt of Shrewsbury; four daughters, Mary Jean Potter of Fallston, Md., Millicent Jane Ruhl of Hanover, Gail Patricia Wertz of Shrewsbury and Pamela Joy Buchanan of Westminster, Md.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Markey was born June 25, 1911, in Cassville, Huntingdon County. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Nettie (Saylor) Wilson. He played baseball with Pennridge and San Diego little leagues; was a pitcher with the Pennridge Connie Mack Baseball League; and was a 1998 graduate of Pennridge High School. Mr. Myers also is survived by paternal grandparents, T.
