JACK J. STEIN JR.
Jack J. Stein Jr., 49, of Falling Springs Road, Landisburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002 in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born Aug. 21, 1953 in Valley Forge to Irene Tate Stein of Valley Forge and the late Jack J. Stein Sr.

He was a welder, most recently employed by Machine Metals, Carlisle; an Air Force veteran; and a member of the North American Hunting Club, New Bloomfield Fire Company and Newport American Legion.

In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife, Karen Coates Stein; a son, Justin of N.J.; a daughter, Amber, of Landisburg; and a brother, Bill, and sister, Kathy Stein, both of New Jersey.

Services were held Oct. 12 in Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, with the Rev. Anthony C. Hill officiating. Burial, with military honors, was in Newport Cemetery.

GLENN O. HOLLEY
Glenn O. Holley, 63, of Bucks Valley Road, Newport, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

He was born Aug. 26, 1939 in Juniata Twp.

He was a retired plumber from Local 520; director of Keystone Oliver Collector’s Association; a member of Hart-Parr Oliver Collector’s Association, Duncannon Sportsmen’s Association, Locust Antique Machinery Club, McClure, Nittany Antique Machinery Association, Centre Hall, Sherman’s Valley Heritage Days Association, Tuscarora Valley Heritage Association, Perry County Old Iron Club, and an active participant of the Perry County Fair Association; hobby was antique farm tractors; and an avid hunter.

Surviving are his wife, Loretta Wallett Holley; two sons, Kevin and Nelson, both of the Carlisle area; a daughter, Deborah Trent of Palmyra; a stepson, Joe Stine of Dauphin; his mother, Kathryn Weibley Holley of Duncannon; a brother, Carl H. of Millerstown; four sisters, Geraldine M. Garcy of Mechanicsburg, Catherine E. Hummel of New Bloomfield, Jennie L. Brown of Shermans Dale and Grace J. Hummel of Newport; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 14 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Michael A. Witmer officiating. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Newport.

GEORGE W. MEILY
George W. Meily, 93, of Liverpool, formerly of Glen Rock and Lebanon, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002 at home.

He was born Feb. 22, 1909 in Lebanon County to the late Morris and Annie (Kleinfelter) Meily.

He was a retired power house operator at the Lebanon plant of Bethlehem Steel Corp. after 40 years of service.

He was the widower of Naomi Minnich Meily.

Surviving are five sons, Richard of Liverpool, Glenn of Jonestown, William of Lebanon, Earl of Milton and Robert of Lancaster; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Meily of Lebanon; two sisters, Sarah Long of Cornwall and Anna Smith of Jonestown; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, George; a sister, Martha Kreiser; and a brother, Eugene.

Services were held Oct. 14 in Rohland Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial was in Grand View Memorial Park.

CARL E. SPEALMAN
Carl E. Spealman, 87, formerly of Marysville, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002 in United Zion Retirement Community, Lititz.

He was a retired car repairman, having worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad, Penn Central and Conrail in the Enola Yards, and he was the best cook for the wreck trains out of Enola; and a member of Marysville Church of God.

He was the widower of Laura A. Cook Spealman.

Surviving are a daughter, Bonnie L. Hoover of Lancaster; two sons, Daniel E. of Lititz and C. David of Chambersburg; a sister, Ruth Dudick of Middletown; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 11 in his church. Burial was in Perry Heights Cemetery, Marysville.

Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville, handled arrangements.

VICTOR PAUL SHATTO
Victor Paul Shatto, infant son of Daryl R. Shatto and Kelly L. Lawler, both of Shermans Dale, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002 at home.

He was born June 28, 2002 in Harrisburg.

In addition to his parents, surviving are two brothers, Ricky Lawler and Terry LeFevre, both of Alabama; a sister, River Goshorn of Loysville; paternal grandparents, Ronald and Patricia Shatto of Shermans Dale; and paternal great-grandfather, Donald Shatto of Newport.

A graveside service was held Oct. 14 in Young’s United Methodist Church Cemetery, Shermans Dale, with the Rev. Jeff Brewster officiating.

Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, Carlisle, handled arrangements.

PHYLLIS A. KANE
Phyllis Arlene Kane, 73, of Hidden Valley Road, Loysville RR 2, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002 at home.

She was born Aug. 10, 1929 in Carlisle Springs to the late Rev. Roy and Margaret (Heberlig) Stimeling.

She retired after 13 years from Dickinson College, Carlisle, and for many years worked at the former Piezo Crystal Co., Carlisle.

Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Robert V. Kane; three sisters, Naomi McKillip of Carlisle, Retta Williams of Florida and Mary McCoy of Delaware; five brothers, Jake, Paul and Gerald Stimeling, all of Florida, James Stimeling of Maryland and Joseph Stimeling of Carlisle; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Darlene Jones.

Services were held Oct. 9 in Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, Carlisle. Burial was in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.

CATHERINE P. PARR
Catherine Patricia Parr, 51, of Kemp Street, Duncannon, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002 at home.

She was born Sept. 7, 1951 in Morristown, N.J., to the late Arnold H. Campbell Sr. and Catherine P. Pierce.

She was a certified public accountant, former correctional officer at Dauphin County Prison and did landscaping; a graduate of Thompson Institute with an associate degree in accounting; formerly attended Trinity Baptist Church of Jacksonville; and enjoyed going to yard sales.

Surviving are two daughters, Vicki Lynn Parr of Jacksonville and Cheri Ann Sparks of Duncannon; a son, Richard W. III of Jacksonville; three sisters, Nancy L. Norris, Barbara E. Cox and Elaine S. Myers, all of Duncannon; two brothers, Arnold H. Campbell Jr. of Jacksonville and Jeffrey A. Campbell of Barstow, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 13 in Boyer Funeral Home, Duncannon.

NANCY R. KITNER
Nancy Reid Kitner, 66, of N. Front Street, Liverpool, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002 in Sunbury Community Hospital.

She was born Oct. 15, 1935 in Martinsville, Va., to the late Harry and Clara (Cooper) Wall.

She was associated with Duncannon Assembly of God Church, and enjoyed a close friendship with Virginia Teats and Joyce Bryan.

She was the widow of Harold Eugene “Kit” Kitner, who died Aug. 22, 2002.

Surviving are a son, David F., at home; four daughters, Jeanie S. Kirkpatrick of Story City, Iowa, twins Karen L. Sheperd of Oil City and Karla L. Kitner of Wickenburg, Ariz., and Mildred F. “Millie” Kitner of Sunbury; a sister, Evelyn Fusaro of Mt. Airy, N.C.; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, James “Jim” Wall.

Services were held Oct. 14 in Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, with pastor Dale B. Rosenberger officiating. Burial was in Elliottsburg Cemetery.

TRACY A. ARNOLD
Tracy A. Arnold, 40, of Newport RR 4 died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002 in Harrisburg Hospital.

She was employed by Allfirst Bank in Carlisle and enjoyed her dog, Boo Boo, reading, sewing, crafts and was a collector of Beanie Babies.

Surviving are her father and stepmother, John A. Sr. and Leona J. Arnold of Newport; her mother, Ann E. Swartz of Dover; a brother, John A. Arnold Jr. of Newport; two sisters, Rebecca L. Newcomer of Camp Hill and Toni L. LaVan of Dover; a stepbrother, Scott True of Newport; two stepsisters, Tammy Snudden of Harrisburg and Sheila Reisinger of Newport; maternal grandmother, Mary Jane Suffel of Mechanicsburg; and 10 nieces and nephews.

Services were held Oct. 25 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.

DOROTHY M. ECKENBERGER
Dorothy M. Eckenberger, 85, of Tolbert Lane, Millerstown, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002 at home.

She was born Dec. 21, 1916 at Loysville RR 1 to the late William and Minerva (Foltz) Delancey.

She had worked at Knouse Foods, Peach Glen, and attended Village Chapel, Donnally Mills.

She was the widow of Benjamin Eckenberger.

Surviving are four daughters, Joanne Clouser of Elliottsburg, Edna Shuman of East Waterford, Nina Tolbert of Millerstown and Naomi Eckenberger of Selinsgrove; three sons, Roy, Marlin and James, all of Millerstown; two brothers, Robert Delancey of Shermans Dale and George Delancey of Newport; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 29 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with the Rev. Guy Hockenberry officiating. Burial was in Eshcol Cemetery.

Services will be held a 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30, in Myers Funeral Home, Newport. Burial will be in Red Hill Cemetery, Newport.

Viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m., Oct. 30.

MARIE M. LINSENBACH
Marie M. Linsenbach of Duncannon died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

She was born in Duncannon to the late Shuler and Anna McKelvey.

She was a retired beautician in Duncannon; a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 340, Railroad Retiree Club of Pennsylvania and Scotland School Alumni Association.

She was the widow of Harry H. Lisenbach Sr.

Surviving are two sons, Harry H. Jr. of Woodland, Calif., and Gilbert A. of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Luretta A. Goodling of Duncannon; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 29 in Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. B. Michael Brossman officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Garden, Harrisburg.

MARGARET E. FREY
Margaret E. Frey, 97, formerly of Marysville and Lake Meade, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002 in Rest Haven Nursing Home, York.

A memorial service was held Oct. 26 in the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of York Church, York.

Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville, handled arrangements.

WAYNE E. WRIGHT
Wayne Everett Wright, 79, of Markelsville Road, Juniata Twp., Newport, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002 in Oliver Twp. while hunting.

He was born Sept. 22, 1923 in Newport to the late Grover C. and Annie (Bailor) Wright.

He was a farmer and retired from the former Pennsylvania Railroad and Carlisle Tire and Rubber Co.; an Army veteran of World War II; a member of Newport American Legion Post 177; and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was the widower of Wava Pauline Wright.

Surviving are a son, John Wayne of Newport; two daughters, Bonnie F. Britcher of Mechanicsburg and Patricia M. Casey of Newport; a brother, Leroy Wright, and two sisters, Helen Ehrhart and Dorothy Ehrhart, all of Newport; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services were held Oct. 30 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport. Burial was in Red Hill Cemetery, Newport.

ESTHER D. COPENHAVER
Esther D. Copenhaver, 71, of Valley Road, Marysville, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002 at Health South Rehab, Mechanicsburg.

She was a member of the Church of the Living Christ, Loysville; a 1949 graduate of William Penn High School; and enjoyed spending time with family, friends and the many dogs she owned throughout her life.

Surviving are her husband of nearly 53 years, Carl G. Copenhaver; two sons, Kenneth A. of Fairfax, Vt., and Daniel G. of Shermans Dale; two daughters, Terri L. Greene of Loysville and Viktoria L. Denlinger of Enola; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Oct. 30 at her church. Burial was in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill.

Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, handled arrangements.
