MARY I. STINE
Mary I. Stine, 90, of Marysville died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004 in Harrisburg Hospital.

She was born Feb. 2, 1914 in Marysville to the late Donato and Filomena (Fantino) Pace.

She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Marysville.

She was the widow of Harry S. Stine Sr.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas D. Sr. of Mechanicsburg and Richard L. of New Buffalo; a daughter, Mary I. Mader of Harrisburg; a daughter-in-law, Mary C. Stine of Marysville; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Harry S. Jr.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 23 in her church. Burial was in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Marysville.

Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville, handled arrangements.

REV. IVAN A. MORTON
Rev. Ivan A. Morton D.D., 90, who resided at Spring Creek Rehabilitation and Healthcare of Dauphin County, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, at his residence.

He was born March 13, 1914 in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada.

He moved to America and started his first ministry work when he was 18 and was ordained as a pastor in 1948. He founded and built the Open Door Bible Churches of Jamaica and pastored there for many years. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.

Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Katherine Pergola Morton; a daughter, Jean Ann Nicholson of Dillsburg; two granddaughters, Shannon Walker and Meredith Schoppe; and two great-granddaughters.

Services and burial were Dec. 28 in Clearwater, Fla.

Boyer Funeral Home, Duncannon, handled arrangements.

FLORENCE K. BROUGHER
Florence K. Brougher, 86, formerly of Marysville, died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004 in Kinkora Pythian Home, Duncannon.

She was a retired private secretary and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Marysville.

Surviving are two sons, Gerald A. Brougher II of Newport and Wayne K. Hammaker of Marysville; two sisters, Mae K. Roberts of Marysville and Martha C. Buser of Mechanicsburg; two brothers, Gene L. Hammaker and Conway D. Hammaker, both of Marysville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Marysville.

Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville, handled arrangements.

ROBIN R. CHIRICOS
Robin R. Chiricos, 43, of Dauphin died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

She was born Feb. 27, 1961 in Lewistown to Lawrence and Mary Jane Minium Knouse of Millerstown.

She was retired from PennDOT; a 1979 graduate of East Juniata High School; a lifelong Girl Scout; a member of Rockville United Methodist Church, Harrisburg, Blue Moon Cruisers and the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club; and enjoyed scrapbooking and cross-stitching.

In addition to her parents, surviving are her husband, Thomas J. Chiricos; a son, Christopher L., and a daughter, Mary C. Chiricos, both of Dauphin; two brothers, Rickey L. Knouse and wife Patricia of Mifflintown and Ronnie R. Knouse of Richfield; and her sister-in-law and organ donor, Brenda Knouse.

Services were held Sept. 18 in Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Millerstown, with the Revs. Vernon Shenberger and David Arnold officiating. Burial was in the church Cemetery.

MARGARET V. LUSK
Margaret V. Lusk, 78, of Marysville died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004 at the home of her sister, Doris.

She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Marysville.

Surviving are two sisters, Doris M. Kocher of Marysville and Mary Jane Dissinger of Rye Twp.; two brothers, Robert E. Lusk of Colonial Park and Horace W. Lusk of Mechanicsburg.

Services were held Sept. 20 in Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville. Burial was in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Marysville.

EDITH M. MCBRIDE
Edith M. McBride, 86, of New Bloomfield died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

She was born Nov. 5, 1917 in Harrisburg to the late William J. Sr. and Gertrude (Minnich) Good.

She was a retired dispatcher with the Perry County Courthouse and a member of Mannsville Lutheran Church and New Bloomfield Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

She was the widow of Frank K. McBride.

Surviving are a son, Russell K. of New Bloomfield, a brother, Charles E. Good, and a sister, Ruth Reeder, all of New Bloomfield; two grandchildren, Aaron K. McBride and Eileen McBride; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Kathleen Williams and Nicole Wood; two brothers, Robert Good and William J. Good Jr.; and a sister, Mabel Clouser.

Services were held Sept. 19 in David M. Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Arthur Steckel II officiating. Burial was in Bloomfield Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church, 2849 Erly Road, Elliottsburg 17024.

EDWARD C. STANTON
Edward C. Stanton, 62, of Duncannon died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004 while fishing in Lakes Bay. He had been visiting and helping to care for his mother, Dorothy King Stanton.

He was born May 18, 1942 in Harrisburg.

He worked for Holiday Inn, Harrisburg, and Hershey Hotel in the housekeeping department; a 1961 graduate of John Bartram High School, Philadelphia; an Air Force veteran, 1963-1964; and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his mother, surviving are two sisters, Theresa Stanton and Romayne Stanton, all of Northfield; a daughter, Carolanne Vanon of Egg Harbor Township; and a nephew and niece, Andrew Stanton and Carrie Stanton, both of Northfield.

He was preceded in death by his father, Urban E. Stanton.

Lowenstein Funeral Home, Galloway, is handling arrangements.

PHYLLIS A. BRUKER
Phyllis A. Bruker, 72, of Susquehanna Apartments, Duncannon, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004 at Select Specialty Hospital, Camp Hill.

She was born Oct. 6, 1931 in Duncannon to the late Harry and Viola (Page) Toland.

Surviving are children, Henry H. Bruker Jr. of Marysville, Stephen S. Bruker of Duncannon and Terry J. Erb of Marysville; a sister, Gloria Deiter of Duncannon; a brother, Donald Toland of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jane Harvey.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 25, in Union Cemetery, Duncannon, with the Rev. Dale Rosenberger officiating.

LESLIE C. HOCKENBROCH
Leslie Calvin “Les” Hockenbroch, 81, of Millerstown RR 2, Susquehanna Twp., Juniata County, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004 in Brookline Manor Nursing Care Center, Mifflintown RR 1.

He was born Aug. 13, 1923 in Greenwood Twp., Perry County, to the late Aaron Delvin and Arna (Bucher) Hockenbroch.

He initially was employed by the Naval Depot, Mechanicsburg, and then worked for 15 years at Central Steel, Harrisburg, and retired in 1985 from Harsco steel plant, Harrisburg, as an inspector for 23 years; a 1941 graduate of Liverpool High School; and a member of St. James United Methodist Church, where he served as secretary of the Cemetery association and sexton of the Cemetery for more than 40 years, and the United Steelworkers Union, Harrisburg.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Zelda Marie Pyle Hockenbroch; four sons, Floyd C. of Richfield, Mark D. of McAlisterville RR 1, Lewis E., at home, and Jay K. of Newville; a foster son, David W. Dupert of Pasadena, Md.; a brother, Leon of Newport RR 1; a sister, Myrna Buckley of Liverpool; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Hockenbroch of Liverpool RR 1; six grandchildren; two foster grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Junior “Chupp” Hockenbroch, and a great-granddaughter, Hope Hannah Rhoads.

Services were held Sept. 15 in his church with the Rev. Salvatore E. Buonocore officiating and the Rev. G. Phillip May assisting. Burial was in the church Cemetery.

RICHARD E. NIELD
Richard E. Nield, 70, of Young’s Church Road, Shermans Dale, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004 at home.

He was born May 30, 1934 in Wileyford, W. Va., to the late Jacob and Mae (Brandt) Nield.

He was retired from Virginia Power, where he was an electrical engineer, and was a building contractor, working with his father and brothers.

Surviving are his wife, Doris L. Nield; a son, Richard A. of Wileyford; two daughters, Kimberly A. Aquallo and Jennifer L. Clark, both of Shermans Dale; two brothers, Ronald and Gary; three sisters, Carol O’Connell, Jacqueline “Jackie” Potter and Linda Way; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, handled arrangements.

KEVIN J. CARROLL
Kevin James Carroll, 25, of Myrtle Avenue, Marysville, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004 from injuries sustained in a traffic accident on Interstate 81 in Cumberland County.

He was a warehouseman at Ollie’s Distribution Center, West Hanover Twp.; a 1998 graduate of Central Dauphin High School; and a member of Bell Presbyterian Church, Elwood City, and attended Ridgeway Community Church of the Brethren, Susquehanna Twp.

Surviving are his mother, Pamela Sue Gibbel Carroll and her companion, Stephen E. Tritch, with whom he resided; his father, Daniel K. Carroll of Seaford, Del.; a sister, Erin L. MacDonald of Harrisburg; maternal grandparents, H. Lewis Gibbel Jr. and M. Louise Gibbel of West Hanover Twp.; paternal grandmother, Louise Carroll of Elwood City; aunt and uncle, Carol and Henry Muensterman and their children, Katie and Dillon of Lower Paxton Twp.; three paternal uncles; and several cousins, including Jennifer L. Gibbel of Swatara Twp.

A private service was held Sept. 16 in Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home, Harrisburg, with the Rev. Judith Gibble-Kipp officiating. Burial was in Frystown Cemetery.

FLORENCE E. MATTER
Florence E. “Flossie” Matter, 63, of Marysville died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Marysville, where she was a former Sunday school teacher, and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 882, Marysville; and an active volunteer for Meals on Wheels and at the Marysville Lions Club Carnival for many years.

Surviving are her husband, Fred L. Matter; two sons, Fred L. Jr. of Rye Twp. and Kurt A. of McGuire Air Force Base, N.J.; her mother, Alberta Mae Fry Potteiger of Duncannon; and four grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 18 in her church. Burial was in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Marysville.

Angela Marie Miller of Oliver Twp., Newport, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004 at home.

She was a registered nurse and had worked at Holy Spirit Hospital and Newport Family Practice; a graduate of West Perry High School and Harrisburg Area Community College; a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, New Bloomfield, and Red Hill Church of God, Newport; and was active with the American Cancer Society and a committee member of Relay for Life.

Surviving are her husband, Mark K. Miller; a son, Noah N., at home; her parents, Dave and Sandy Gantt, a brother, D.J. Gantt, a sister, Tina Dimm, all of New Bloomfield, and maternal grandparents, Otha and Virginia Gardner, all of New Bloomfield; two nieces, Amber Gantt and Cassie Miller; and four nephews, Dylan and Zachary Dimm and Kyle and Craig Miller.

Services were held Sept. 21 in Trinity United Church of Christ with the Rev. Alan Foor officiating.
