HELEN W. JOHNSON
Helen W. Johnson, 82, of Lincoln Street, Marysville, formerly of Milroy, died Friday, Nov. 20, 1998 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
She was the daughter of the late John and Gertrude (MacDowell) Winegardner.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Marysville.
She was the widow of Ernest H. Johnson. Surviving are one daughter, Megan E. Johnson, with whom she lived; one son, Meldon E. Johnson of Glendale, Ariz.; one granddaughter; and two great-granddaughters.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Nov. 27, in her church. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
Arrangements are being handled by the Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville.

ALBERT W. JAMISON
Albert W. Jamison, 65, of Elliottsburg RR 1 died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998 in Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg.
He was a retired employee of the New Cumberland Army Depot and a Navy veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Jamison; two daughters, Jill Hostetter of Annville and Sandi Jamison of Carlisle; three sons, Kim of Layton, Utah, Dean of Hummelstown and Jack of Hershey; a brother, Earl of Maryland; two foster sisters, Grace Wolfe of Lebanon and Martha Patrick of Jonestown; and nine grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 18 in Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield. Burial, with military honors, was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Capital Region Unit, 1500 N. Second St., Harrisburg 17102.

DIANA B. JIMENEZ
Diana B. Jimenez, 63, of Duncannon RR 4, formerly of Philadelphia, died Friday, Oct. 2, 1998 at home.
She was a former Spanish teacher in the Philadelphia school system; a native of Puerto Rico; and a Catholic.
She was the widow of Luis F. Jimenez.
Surviving are two sons, Stanley, with whom she lived, and Luis F. Jr. of Philadelphia; and a grandson.
Services were held Oct. 6 in Boyer Funeral Home, Duncannon. Burial was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

ELMER S. JACOBS
Elmer Scott "Scottie" Jacobs, 85, of New Cumberland died Tuesday, April 14, 1998 in Fairview Retirement Village, Fairview Twp.
He retired as a computer programmer from the federal government; was an Army veteran of World War II; and a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church, Lewisberry; VFW Post 34 and American Legion Post 177, both of Newport.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Geary Jacobs, and a sister, Hannah Luallen of Orlando, Fla.
Services were held at the convenience of the family. Burial was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, handled arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Disease Association, South Central Pennsylvania Chapter, 1013 Mumma Road, Lemoyne 17043.

EDWIN P. JUNK
Edwin P. Junk, 38, of Forest Court, Carlisle, died Monday, May 25, 1998 in Carlisle Hospital.
He was born May 7, 1960 in Carlisle to John H. and Arlene E. (Gibbons) Junk, with whom he lived.
He was an employee of MJ Mall Theaters, Carlisle; attended West Perry High School and was a member of the wrestling team; and was a member of Farmers Grove Church of the Brethren, Port Royal.
In addition to his parents, surviving are a brother, John G. Junk of Carlisle; and four sisters, Joanne E. Fisher, Elaine Kling, Kathy J. Kirkpatrick and Karen S. McDonald, all of Loysville.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi M. Junk.
Services and Burial were held at the convenience of the family. Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, Carlisle, handled arrangements.

MARGARET JONES
Margaret Jones, 83, of Duncannon RR 4 died Wednesday, June 17, 1998 at home.
She was born May 9, 1915 in Philadelphia to the late Henry and Cora Haas.
She retired as a teacher from Susquenita High School; was a graduate of Temple University; and a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Duncannon, Delta Zeta sorority, Perry County School Employees and Order of the Amaranth Supreme Council, Harrisburg.
Surviving are her husband, James T. Jones; a son, James R. of Duncannon RR 4; and three granddaughters.
Graveside services were held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with the Rev. Michael B. Brossman officiating.
Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, handled arrangements.

ROBERT L. JONES
Robert L. "Bob" Jones, 60, of Newport RR 4 died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
He was born May 5, 1938 in Duncannon to the late Ruben and Helen (Strawser) Jones. He retired from Cumberland Construction and was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church and the Newport Social Order of Owls.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Jones; a daughter, Dee A. Bearden of Newport; two brothers, James and Richard,, both of Shermans Dale; four sisters, Mary Miller of Carlisle, Barbara Thomas of York Springs, and Patsy Ritter and Ruth Jones, both of Shermans Dale; and four grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 4 in his church with the Rev. Crea Clark officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery. Myers Funeral Home, Newport, handled arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 2040 Linglestown Road, Suite 106, Harrisburg 17110.

VINCENT L. JOHNSON
Vincent L. "Vince" Johnson, 89, of Greenwood Street, Millerstown, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1998 in Perry Village Nursing Home, New Bloomfield.
He was born Jan. 21, 1908 at Ickesburg to the late Ira M. and N. Estelle (Booda) Johnson.
He was retired from the New Cumberland Army Depot and formerly was a farmer; a Navy veteran of World War II; a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Ickesburg, Adams Lodge 319 F&AM, New Bloomfield, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Perry-Juniata Shrine Club, Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Temple, Millerstown Fire Company and Millerstown Ambulance Association.
Surviving are a companion, Ruth Savercool of Millerstown; two daughters, Joanne E. Fritz of Ickesburg RR 1 and Ivetta M. Neidigh of Blain; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph "Dip", Charles "Chiz" and Harold "Pip"; and a grandson, Ronald Neidigh.
Services were held Jan. 23 in his church with the Revs. Karen Easterly and Arthur Montgomery officiating. Burial was in Millerstown Riverview Cemetery. Nickel Funeral Home, Millerstown, handled arrangements.

ANNA N. JEFFRIES
Anna N. Jeffries, 81, of W. Shortcut Road, Newport, died Monday, April 13, 1998 at home.
She was born May 29, 1916 in Newport tothe late Walter W. and Ella (Burd) Mitchell.
She retired from AILGWU Newport Dress Factory and was a member of St. Samuel's Lutheran Church, its Pollyanna Class and Newport American Legion and VFW auxiliaries.
Surviving are her husband, Mark D. Jeffries; two sons, Mark A. of Fallston, Md., and Wilbur W. of Bountiful, Utah; two brothers, Gilbert Mitchell of Emporium and Arthur Mitchell of Newport; and four grandchildren.
Services were held April 16 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Arthur Steckel officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.

MERLE B. KNISELY
Merle B. Knisely, 88, of Perry Village Nursing Home, New Bloomfield, formerly of Newport RR 4, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1998 in Harrisburg Hospital.
He was born Sept. 8, 1910 in Markelsville to the late John D. and Lula (Baker) Knisely.
He had been a self-employed farmer; had worked at the former Breyer's Ice Cream plant in Millerstown; was a member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church and Oliver Grange 1069, Wila; and had attended Donnally Mills United Methodist Church.
He was the widower of Helen Burd Knisely and Miriam Lewis Knisely.
Surviving are a son, John W. of Newport; a daughter, Joyce E. Kline of Carlisle; a stepson, Blair Goodling of Mount Pleasant Mills; a stepdaughter, Arlene Yohn of South Carolina; two brothers, Kenneth of Millerstown and Darwin of Mechanicsburg; two sisters, Goldie Minnich of White Mills and Faye Hammaker of Marysville; a grandson; and several stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 19 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Patricia Woolever officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.
