LANDIS L. EVANS
Landis L. "Hap" Evans, 84, of Basin Hill Road, Duncannon, died Monday, Feb. 16, 1998 at home.
He was born Oct. 31, 1913 in Miller Twp. to the late Daniel and Florainus (Baker) Evans.
He was an employee of the former Newport Plier Factory; was retired from PennDOT in New Bloomfield; was an Army veteran of World War II, in which he was awarded the Purple Heart; a member of the Duncannon American Legion Post 340; Newport Social Order of Owls; Newport VFW Post 34; and Newport Chapter 49 Disabled Veterans.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Miller Evans; a son, Barry L. of Duncannon; a daughter, Elizabeth A. Haines of Duncannon; and two grandchildren.
Services were held in the David M. Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Cheryl Dorman and Lee Snyder officiating. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Newport.

DIANNE E. ENGLE
Dianne Evonne Engle, 51, of Liverpool Twp. died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998 at home.
She was graduate of Englewood High School, Jacksonville, Fla.; and a member of Liverpool Fire Company, Liverpool Ambulance League and the Susquehanna Basset Hound Club.
Surviving are her husband, Albert Kenneth Engle; a daughter, Evonne Marie Varner of Milton RR 5; her mother, Ethel M. Cook Stewart Taylor of Alma, Ga.; a brother, Jerry H. Stewart, and a sister, Debra K. Stewart, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; two stepbrothers, Russell and Ricky Taylor and one stepsister, Pamela Taylor, all of Georgia; and three grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 5 in Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool. Burial was in St. John (Barners) Lutheran Church Cemetery, Liverpool RR 1.

HAROLD R. ERBY
Harold R. "Mike" Erby, 72, of Aqueduct Road, Duncannon, formerly of Middletown, died Monday, Oct. 5, 1998 in Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, Harrisburg.
He was retired from the state Department of Agriculture; an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II; a member of the Hershey Italian Club; and a former member of Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Middletown.
Surviving are two sons, Harold R. Jr. of San Francisco, Calif., and David B. of Carlisle; a brother, Lynn of California; a sister, Thelma Milkovich of Middletown; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Oct. 7 in Seven Sorrows Church. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Middletown.
Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown, handled arrangements.

JOHN M. FOREMAN
John M. Foreman, 81, of Liverpool RR 1 died Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
He was born June 26, 1917 in Willow Grove to the late Amos and Estella (Shearer) Foreman.
He was a former truck driver for Motor Freight Express; served with the Merchant Marines in World War II; and a member of Teamsters Union Local 776 of Harrisburg.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Ruth E. Clark Foreman; two sons, John F. and Donald E., both of Liverpool RR 1; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, George; a sister, Mary Harlan; and a granddaughter, Angela Foreman.
Services were held Dec. 31 in Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, with the Rev. Ray Hatcher officiating. Burial was in Barner's Lutheran Cemetery, Liverpool RR 1.

ROBERT E. FOOSE
Robert E. "Bob" Foose, 73, of Silver Spring Twp., Mechanicsburg, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 1998 at home.
He was born April 25, 1925 in Perry County to the late Harry D. and Stella (Kennedy) Foose.
He was a self-employed painter and paper hanger; formerly employed by the Naval Supply Depot, Mechanicsburg; a graduate of Rider College, N.J.; a veteran of the European Theater of World War II; and a member of Young's United Methodist Church and Sunday school, Mechanicsburg, where he was a former Sunday school teacher, member of the Pastor-Parish Relations Committee, former church trustee, assistant lay leader and head church usher of 13 years.
Surviving are his wife, Frieda K. Foose; one son, Ronald E. of Cromwell, Conn.; two daughters, Diana K. Milligan of Mechanicsburg and Debra A. Hinkle of Stewartstown; one brother, the Rev. William Foose of Quincy, Ill.; three sisters, Frances Georgeff of Madison, Ill., Ruth Buck of Enola and Martha Lyons of Landisburg; and five grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 27 in his church with the Rev. Paul C. Kauffman officiating. Burial was in Stone Church Cemetery, Silver Spring Twp.
Myers Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, handled arrangements.

RONALD L. FULTZ
Ronald L. Fultz, 51, of Creek Road, Shermans Dale, formerly of Elliottsburg, died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998 at home.
He was a handyman.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra L. McKain Fultz; a son, Jan of Elliottsburg; a daughter, Ginger Rhodes of Shermans Dale; his mother, Ruth Fultz of Elliottsburg; four sisters, Sandra Cale, Nancy Kerlin and Carol Baum, all of Elliottsburg, and Sherry Smith of New Bloomfield; and a granddaughter.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, handled the arrangements.

MARTIN J. ERDOSSY
Martin J. Erdossy, 87, of Maple Avenue, Marysville, died Wednesday, July 29, 1998 in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, a Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient, and a life member of VFW Post 882.
Surviving are his wife, Jeannine Erdossy; two sons, Jon of Marysville and Martin J. III of Virginia Beach, Va.; a daughter, Tracy of Marysville; three sisters, Edith Loveless of Wilmington, Del., Olga Pugh of Grantville and Lillian Fogerty of Auburn; a brother, Alexander of Fairless Hills; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services were held in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Marysville. Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, handled arrangements.

BRENDA L. FORSYTH
Brenda Lee Forsyth, 36, of Maple Lane, Shermans Dale, died Dec. 28, 1998 in Hershey Medical Center as the result of injuries sustained in an auto accident on Dec. 24 on Route 850 near Shermans Dale.
She was born Feb. 22, 1962 in Sunbury to Roberta Bell (Hall) Strouse of Mifflinburg and the late John C. Strouse, who died in April 1988.
She was employed in Harrisburg by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Association; had attended Trinity United Methodist Church, Northumberland; a 1980 graduate of Shikellamy High School, Sunbury; a NASCAR fan; and enjoyed camping, movies and doing crafts.

In addition to her mother, surviving are her husband, Christopher; a son, Jeremy Wertz of Selinsgrove; a brother, James D. "Jim" Strouse of Northumberland; two sisters, Dawn M. Strouse of Sunbury and Betsy J. Guffey of Mifflinburg RR 2; and a half-sister, Susanna Williams of San Antonio, Texas.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Allan Strouse in 1971.
Services were held Jan. 2 in Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff D. Wakeley officiating.

ADELE W. FOX
Adele W. Fox, 89, of Country Meadows, Mechanicsburg, formerly of Duncannon, died Friday, March 20, 1998 in Country Meadows.
She was born June 8, 1908 in Shenandoah, Pa., to the late Anthony and Margaret (Naryauckas) Walaitis.
She retired as a business teacher from Susquenita High School; was a graduate of the former Beckley College, Harrisburg, and attended Columbia and New York universities; had been a representative of the former Tuberculosis Society, an area chairman for the American Red Cross and president of the Duncannon Cemetery Association; and was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, the Pennsylvania Council of Republican Women, Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees and Perry County Public School Retirees.
She was the widow of Donald D. Taylor and Richard N. Fox.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. Alan Foor officiating. Burial was in Duncannon Cemetery.

BETTY J. FRY
Betty J. Fry, 70, of S. Second Street, Newport, died Friday, Oct. 9, 1998 at home.
She was born May 6, 1928 in Huntingdon County to the late Harry L. and Florence (Cramer) Bowser.
She had worked for Rubin Brothers, Harrisburg, and Empire Kosher Poultry, Thompsontown; enjoyed crocheting and making dolls; and had attended Newport Church of God.
She was the widow of Ralph W. Fry.
Surviving are a daughter, Florence P. Cox of Newport; four grandchildren, Tammy Gill and Amy, Mindy and Valerie Cox; and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Gill and Brooke Wright.
Services were held Oct. 12 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Harry Cole officiating. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Newport Ambulance League, P.O. Box 66, Newport 17074.
