METTIE A. FISHER
Mettie Ardella Fisher, 95, of the Normandie Ridge Nursing Home, York, formerly of High Street, Millerstown, died Monday, June 15, 1998 in the home.
She was born Aug. 25, 1902 at Newport to the late Ibra Jacob and Emma Jane (Keister) Longacre.
She was a former file clerk for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and a member of Millerstown United Methodist Church.
She was the widow of John Charles Fisher.
Surviving are two sons, William C. of York and Arthur R. of Newport; two sisters, Kathryn Boyer of Duncannon and Betty Wentz of Millerstown; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held in her church June 19 with the Rev. Arthur L. Montgomery officiating. Burial was in Millerstown Riverview Cemetery.
Nickel Funeral Home, Millerstown, handled arrangements.

MILDRED R. FISH
Mildred R. Fish, 88, of Sunrise Extended Care Facility, Elkton, Md., died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998 after a long illness.
Raised in Duncannon, she was the daughter of the late Harry O. and Minnie E. Steele.
She was married to Theodore G. Fish, who died Jan. 6, 1995.
Surviving are three sons, Dennis P. of Albuquerque, N.M., Donald J. of Chesapeake City, Md., and Darryl L. of Palmer, Alaska; and a sister, Bertha E. Stuckey of Lockport, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, William L., J. Harrison and Brant F. Steele.
Services were held Nov. 17 in R.T. Foard Funeral Home, Chesapeake City, Md. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery, Chesapeake City.

SYLVANIA S. FELTMAN
Sylvania S. Feltman, 89, of Millerstown RR 2 died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998 at home.
She formerly worked at Liverpool Shirt Co. and was a member of Church of Christ in Christian Union, Mount Pleasant Mills RR 1. She enjoyed quilting and gardening.
She was the widow of Dervin Feltman. Surviving are a son, R. Truman of Duncannon RR 4; two daughters, Geraldine N. Benner and Zella J. Phelabaum, both of Harrisburg; a sister, Hannah Kline of White Deer; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 17 in Garman Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant Mills. Burial was in Evangelical Methodist Cemetery, Richfield.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church, RR 1, Mount Pleasant Mills 17853.

LEE R. GORDON
Lee R. Gordon, 64, of N. Middlesex Road, Carlisle, died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998 at home.

He was born July 29, 1934 to the late Kessel R. and Mae Laura (Dick) Gordon.
He was semi-retired and owner/operator of Lee R. Gordon Backhoe Service for 35 years; an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict; a member of Huntsdale Church of the Brethren and West Pennsboro Twp. Fire Company; and a life member of VFW Post 477, White Circle Club, Eagles 1299 and Elks Lodge 578, all of Carlisle.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Carol E. Roth Gordon; three sons, Steven L. of Newville, Timothy R. of Walnut Bottom and Thomas E. of Carlisle; a daughter, Carolyn M. Mellott of Carlisle; two brothers, Frederick A. and Roy R., both of Newville; seven sisters, Mildred C. Gibson, Mabel I. Gordon, Ruth E. Duncan, Violet M. Fraker and Pauline L. Shenk, all of Carlisle, Lois L. Stum of Newville and Emma S. Gordon of Lykens; and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jacob R., Ray E. and Raymond E.; and one sister, Anna May Gordon.
Services were held Nov. 9 in his church with the Rev. Jan Custer officiating. Burial was in the church Cemetery.
Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, handled arrangements.

DR. MAYNARD S. FENNER
Dr. Maynard S. Fenner, 82, of McAlisterville died Sunday, May 24, 1998 at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin, where he had been a resident for two weeks.
He was born Jan. 19, 1916 in Kirtland, Ohio, to the late Sherman A. and Elizabeth M. (Malkie) Fenner.
Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Dorcas Apple Fenner; two sons, Phillip of Miami, Fla., and Craig of Port Royal; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carroll Fenner.
He graduated from Chardon High School, Chardon, Ohio, completed pre-med studies at Juniata College, Huntingdon, and Messiah College, Grantham, then graduated from Chiropractor College, Davenport, Iowa. He retired in 1981 after 30 years of practice in Newport and Mifflintown. He was a member of the Bunkertown Church of the Brethren, McAlisterville RR 1, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Services were May 28 in Lost Creek Mennonite Church, Mifflintown RR 1, with the Revs. Elwood O. Johnson and Robert Smith officiating. Burial, with military honors, was in Bloomfield Cemetery.
Sheaffer Funeral Home, McAlisterville, handled arrangements.

RUTH C. FELTMAN
Ruth Carol Feltman, 58, of Shermans View Road, Shermans Dale, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
She was born July 27, 1939 to the late Gerald and Isabelle (Headings) Rudy.
She was a member of Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church, Shermans Dale.
Surviving are her husband, Lester E. Feltman; a son, Mark, at home; a daughter, Sharon Warner of Stafford, Va.; three brothers, Gerald Rudy of Dauphin, Jonathon Rudy of New Cumberland and Richard Rudy of Enola; three sisters, Barbara Erdley of Milton, Patricia Chronister of Marysville and Melissa Sundy of Shermans Dale; three grandchildren; and a special family friend, Dawn Gurgle.
Services were held Feb. 18 in Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, with the Rev. Peter Beddia officiating. Burial was in Mt. Gilead Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church, 955 Windy Hill Road, Shermans Dale 17090.

ROBERT E. FOLTZ
Robert E. Foltz, 87, of Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg, died Sunday, May 24, 1998 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
He was born Oct. 8, 1910 in Newport to the late Jesse and Emma (Rohm) Foltz.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II; a member, past trustee and chairman of the building committee of Wesley United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg; and a member of Eureka Lodge 302 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Shrine, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Cumberland County Shrine Club, Zembo Luncheon Club, Mechanicsburg VFW 6704 and Mechanicsburg American Legion 109.
Surviving are his wife, Edythe A. Norris Foltz; a daughter, Joyce A. Goodyear of Ventura, Calif.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
Services were held May 27 in his church with the Rev. Dr. Elwood Zimmerman and the Revs. David M. Schmuck and E. Luke Carlson officiating. Burial was in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
Myers Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, handled arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Care Assurance Fund, Bethany Village, 325 Wesley Drive, Mechanicsburg 17055.

SAMUEL F. FISHER
Samuel F. Fisher, 46, of Blain RR 1 died Sunday, May 17, 1998 at home.
He was born June 18, 1951 in Ronks to Salome (Fisher) Fisher of Loysville RR 2 and the late Benjamin S. Fisher Sr.
He was a farmer and also worked for his brother at Fisher Structures, Loysville RR 2 and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife, Sadie K. King Fisher; three sons, Melvin K., David K. and Daniel K., all at home; four daughters, Esther K. Fisher of Newburg, and Ada Mae, Salome K. and Rebecca K., all at home; six brothers, Elam and David, both of Loysville, Elmer of Blain, and Ben Jr., J. Raymond and Amos, all of Gap; and one grandson, Mahlon F. Fisher.
Services were held May 19 at his home. Burial was in Ridgeview Cemetery, Loysville RR 1.
Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, handled arrangements.

CLARENCE E. GUTSHALL
Clarence E. Gutshall, 79, of Silver Spring Twp., Cumberland County, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998 in Manor Care Health Services, Carlisle.
He was born March 16, 1919 in Carlisle Springs to the late Edwin and Dessie (Dick) Gutshall. He resided most of his life in Perry County.
He was a World War II Air Force veteran; a retired UGI serviceman; attended Trinity United Methodist Church in New Kingstown; and was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, New Kingstown Fire Company and Fire Police and State Fire Police, Cumberland County Sheriff's Department and the Train Collectors Association.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Isabelle Earley Gutshall; two sons, Ronald E. of Enola and James L. of Carlisle; a sister, Marion Oakes of Duncannon; two grandchildren; and two nephews and a niece.
He was preceded in death by a grandson.
Services were held Nov. 25 in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, with the Rev. Joseph L. Kugle officiating.
Burial was in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
