WALTER F. BAUMBACH JR.
Walter F. "Snook" Baumbach Jr., 81, Poplar Street, Millerstown, died Tuesday, March 28, 2000 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
He was born Jan. 3, 1919 in Newport to the late Walter F. Sr. and Martha (Shade) Raffensperger.
He retired from the former PennCentral and Conrail railroads; was a 1937 graduate of Newport High School; an Army veteran of World War II; a Lutheran; and a member of American Legion Post 177 and VFW Post 34, both of Newport, Moose Lodge 925 and the Enola Sportsmen's Association.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Aumon Baumbach; four daughters, Deborah Yannone and her husband Michael of New Cumberland, Vicki Sykes and her husband James of Omaha, Neb., Jodie Eber and her husband Richard of Baltimore, Md., and Wendy Sheaffer and her husband George of Newport; and four grandchildren.
Services were held April 1 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Edward Baugh officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Millerstown Ambulance League, P.O. Box 34, Millerstown 17062.

WILLIAM H. BOCKMAN SR.
William H. Bockman Sr., 74, of Blain RR 1, formerly of New Castle, Del., died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000 at home.
He was born Feb. 19, 1926 in Wilmington, Del., to the late William and Ella (Smith) Bockman.
He was retired from Charles H. Burns Inc., Millerstown; a former Toboyne Twp. supervisor; an Army veteran of World War II; a life member of Jackson Lodge 19, Delaware City, Del.; and a member of Moose Lodge 925, Millerstown, Dry Run American Legion 232, Newport American Legion 177, DAV 49 of Newport, Newport VFW 34, New Bloomfield VFW 7463, Newport Social Order of Owls, Bartender Association of Newport, Blain Ambulance Club and Eagles Aerie 1299 of Carlisle.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara L. Solomon Bockman; a daughter, Bonnie L. Cirino of Newark, Del.; three sons, William Jr. of Townsend, Del., Bruce A. of Wilmington and Brian L. of Korea; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Gibson-Hollinger Funeral Home, Mt. Holly Springs, handled arrangements.

WILLIAM R. COX
William R. Cox, 49, of Shreiner Avenue, Lancaster, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000 at home.
He was born in Harrisburg to Anna Cox Swartz of Lancaster and the late William R. "Billy" Cox Sr., who was a third baseman for the Brooklyn Dodgers.
He was employed as chief clinical dietitian by Lancaster General Hospital; received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Pennsylvania State University, a master's degree in chemistry from the University of Delaware and a master's degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary; and a member of the American Dietetic Association.
He was the widower of Dorothy Nocella Cox, who died in 1984.
In addition to his mother, surviving are two sisters, Cindy Schachter of Long Beach, Calif., and Shawn Carrozza of Montgomery, N.Y.; and a companion of 15 years, John D. Alley of Lancaster.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Elizabeth Cox.
Services were held Nov. 8 in St. Peter Lutheran Church, Lancaster, with the Rev. Craig Ross officiating. Burial was in Zion Church Cemetery, Millersville.
Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, Lancaster, handled arrangements.

BLANCH E. DEMMY
Blanch E. Demmy, 92, of Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle, formerly of Carlisle and Shermans Dale, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999 in the health center.
She was a former member of Fourth Street United Methodist Church, Boiling Springs, and taught Sunday school; and was a member of Women's Missionary Society and Willing Workers Society.
Surviving is a sister, Esther Kingsborough of Palmyra.
Services were held at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle. Burial was in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens.

CHRISTINA B. DOTSON
Christina B. Dotson, 92, of Newport died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000 in Dauphin Manor, Swatara Twp.
She was a homemaker.
She was the widow of Chester Wayne Dotson.
Surviving are two sons, Joseph C. of Harrisburg and James W. of Panama City, Fla.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Sept. 18 in Newport Cemetery.
Neill Funeral Home, Paxtang, handled arrangements.

ALVIN R. GEORGE
Alvin R. "Dick" George, 77, of Maplewood Drive, Carlisle, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000 at home.
He was born March 16, 1923 in Summerdale to the late Walter A. and Elsie Mae (Dudley) George.
He was the former owner/operator of Dick George's Body Shop, North Middleton Twp., Carlisle, and an Army veteran of World War II.
He was the widower of Pauline Kitner George.
Surviving are two sons, Randy Scott of Mechanicsburg and Alvin R. Jr. of Annandale, Va.; a daughter, Robin Gutshall of Landisburg; a brother, Omer E. of Springfield, Mass.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, Carlisle, handled arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Capital Region Unit, 1500 N. Second St., Harrisburg 17102.

BARRY L. GRUBB SR.
Barry Lee Grubb Sr., 51, of York Road, New Cumberland, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999 at home.
He was born July 25, 1948 to Eva Reeser Grubb of Harrisburg and the late Foster Grubb.
He was employed by P-Mac Auto, Harrisburg.
In addition to his mother, surviving are two sons, Barry L. Jr. of Duncannon and Thomas of Halifax, and three grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date.
Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, is handling arrangements.

CLARISSA W. GROSS
Clarissa W. Gross, 97, formerly of Mechanicsburg, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000 at her daughter's home in Duncannon.
She was born Dec. 26, 1902 in Cumberland County to the late Abram and Lydia (Davis) Witmer.
She was a retired cook for the Mechanicsburg School District and the Rotary Club of Mechanicsburg, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
She was the widow of George A. Gross.
Surviving are one daughter, Marianne Henderson of Duncannon; two sisters, Anna and Rachael Zeigler, both of Mechanicsburg; four granddaughters; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services were held March 3 in Myers Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, with the Rev. Julie Hart officiating. Burial was in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Pa., 98 S. Enola Drive, P.O. Box 266, Enola 17025-0266.

DOROTHY GINGRICH
Dorothy Resinger Gingrich, 89, of Path Valley, formerly of Millerstown, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000 at home.
She retired as a teacher from Fannett-Metal Elementary School, Willow Hill, and was a former teacher at Rock Hill Elementary School in Orbisonia, Shade Gap Elementary School, Boalsburg and Lewistown high schools, and in rural Bucks County; a graduate of Newport High School and the former Pennsylvania State College; and a member of Concord United Methodist Church, Fannett-Metal Retired Teachers Association and Franklin County Farm Women Group 8.
She was the widow of Harry M. Gingrich.
Surviving are a son, Andrew of Mercersburg; a sister, Martha Christian of Indianapolis; a brother, John Resinger of Elizabethtown; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Nov. 18 in Boalsburg Cemetery.
Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, handled arrangements.

ROY L. GELNETT
Roy L. Gelnett, 88, a resident at Kinkora Pythian Home, Duncannon, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000 at the home.
He was born April 25, 1912.
He had been a self-employed dentist; an Army veteran of World War II; and a member of Millerstown United Methodist Church, Millerstown VFW, Newport American Legion and Millerstown Lions Club.
He was the widower of Mildred Hoverter Gelnett.
Surviving are one son, John; a daughter, E. Suzanne Croce of Maine; two sisters, Violet Light and Sarah Hoover, both of Millerstown; and two grandsons and two granddaughters.
Memorial services were held Sept. 9 in St. James United Methodist Church, Millerstown RR 2. Burial was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, handled arrangements.
