GEORGE A. LYTER
George A. Lyter, 78, formerly of N. Market Street, Liverpool, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000 in Nipple Convalescent Home, Liverpool.
He was born Nov. 7, 1921 at Millerstown RR 2 to the late Henry A. and Evelyn (Bromley) Lyter.
He retired as a road foreman from the state Department of Transportation; attended Liverpool High School; was an Army veteran of World War II; a Protestant; a life member of Liverpool Volunteer Fire Company; a member of American Legion Post 364 and the Liverpool Ambulance League; and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and golf.
He was the widower of Frances Lenora Moloy Lyter, who died March 30, 1995.
Surviving are four sons, Kenneth A. "Buck" of Liverpool RR 2, William H. of Thompsontown, John A. of Liverpool RR 1 and Michael C. of Liverpool; four daughters, Loretta Strawser of Newport RR 2, Georgia L. Markle of Millerstown RR 1, Dorna R. Bailor of Port Trevorton RR 1 and Gloria J. Spiglemyer of Liverpool; two sisters, Jane Bartecchi of Baltimore, Md., and Eleanor Dunlap of San Jose, Calif,; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph H. Lyter, who died in November of 1998; a brother, Curtis H.; and four sisters, Agnes Blose, Dorothy Hahn, Mary Green and Virginia Baker.
Services were held Oct. 10 in Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, with the Rev. James E. Lewis officiating. Burial, with military honors, was in Barners Cemetery, Liverpool RR 1.

HARRY B. LESH
Harry B. Lesh, 84, of Newport RR 5 died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000 in Harrisburg Hospital.
He was born Jan. 8, 1916 in Newport to the late Harry B. Sr. and Margaret (Burd) Lesh.
He was retired farmer and had operated a hauling business; was a 1936 graduate of Newport High School, where he was captain of the football team; and a member and former council president of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Newport.
He was the widower of Anna Sanderson Lesh.
Surviving are a brother, Earl M. of Newport, and a sister, Miriam Jansen of La Cresent, Minn.
Services were held Sept. 15 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Paul Case officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.

HELEN E. LIND
Helen E. Lind, 78, of Evergreen Road, Shermans Dale, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000 in Harrisburg Hospital.
She was born Nov. 3, 1921 in Chambersburg to the late Joseph and Rachael (Holden) Bowman.
She retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation; was co-owner of Lind's Christmas Tree Farm; and a member of Shermans Dale Fire Company and its auxiliary and Perry Eastern Star Lodge 451.
She was the widow of Harry W. Lind.
Surviving are a daughter, Jean Shatto of Shermans Dale; five brothers, Kenneth, Wayne, Dale, Charles and Robert Bowman, all of Chambersburg; two sisters, Janet Ramsey of Chambersburg and Mary Black of Graham, Wash.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 11 in Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, with the Rev. R. Bruce Woolever officiating. Burial was in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.

JAMES Q. LIGHTNER SR.
James Q. Lightner Sr., 81, of the Masonic Homes, Elizabethtown, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000 at the home.
He was born at Duncannon to the late Mervin N. and Mary M. (Rice) Lightner.
He retired in 1982 as a pharmacist at Peoples Drug in Harrisburg; had been the owner of Keller Drug Store in Harrisburg; attended Dickinson College, Carlisle, and graduated from the former Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science; an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a pharmacist; and a member of Progress Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg, Euclid Lodge 698, F&AM, Harrisburg, Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Shrine and the High Twelve Club, Elizabethtown.
He was the widower of Elizabeth Bahn Lightner, who died in 1982.
Surviving are his wife, Jane Lightner; a son, James Q. Jr. of Dauphin; a stepson, William W. White of Harrisburg; a daughter, Diane L. Baldwin of Milton; two stepdaughters, Susan W. McHose of Lancaster and Angenette P. Mullen of Mount Joy; two grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.
Services were held Dec. 14 in the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel of the Masonic Homes. Burial was in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill.

MERLE E. LAUCK
Merle E. Lauck, 99, of Perdix died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000 in Kinkora Pythian Home, Duncannon.
He retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers and was a member of Local 542.
Surviving are a son, Charles W. of Wormleysburg; three brothers, Joseph H. of New Cumberland, Peter A. of Carlisle and Charles R. of Dillsburg; two sisters, Bertha Irene Cressler of Florida and Rose A. Cressler of Camp Hill; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 19 in Musselman Funeral Home, Lemoyne. Burial was in Stone Church Cemetery, Silver Spring Twp.
Memorial contributions may be made to Diabetes Foundation of Central Pennsylvania, 1104 Fernwood Ave., Camp Hill 17011.

M. MERLE LIGHT
M. Merle Light, 87, formerly of Liverpool RR 1, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000 at the home of her daughter in Granger, Ind.
She had served as mother to 67 foster children since 1959; was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Liverpool RR 1; and a charter member and past star recorder of Women of the Moose Lodge 925.
She was the widow of W. Stanley Light.
Surviving are her daughter, Pauline Lane Wright; a brother, Robert B. Murray of Liverpool; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 14 in her church. Burial was in St. John's (Barner's) Cemetery, Liverpool RR 1.
Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, handled arrangements.

ADA MIEDZWICKI
Ada M. Miedzwicki, 76, of Paradise Park, New Bloomfield, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
She was born Dec. 1, 1924 in Huntingdon to the late Adam H. and Grace (Welch) Cromes.
She retired from the state Agriculture Department; was a senior volunteer with RSVP of the Capital Region; a volunteer at Stonebridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Duncannon; and a member of Duncannon Church of God, VFW Auxiliary Unit 255, Duncannon Fire Company Auxiliary, Duncannon Golden Age Club, and the New Bloomfield and Duncannon senior citizen groups.
She was the widow of Bolick Miedzwicki.
Surviving are two sons, Robert L. of Shermans Dale and Edward N. of New Bloomfield; and two grandsons.
Services were held Dec. 8 in her church with the Rev. Bernard Fortna officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery, Duncannon.
Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, handled arrangements.

CARL B. MAXWELL
Carl B. Maxwell, 59, of Newport RR 2 died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000 at home.
He was born Sept. 10, 1940 in Newport to the late Wilbur C. and Margaret (Brown) Maxwell.
He retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation; was a member of Newport First Church of God and Moose Lodge 1562; a life member of Newport Social Order of Owls; and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy E. Maxwell; a son, Carl B. Jr. of Camp Hill; a daughter, Cindy Ann Crockett of Mechanicsburg; three brothers, David and James, both of Newport, and Charles of Idaho; a sister, Helen Dodge of Harrisburg; and a grandchild.
Services were held Feb. 22 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Cheryl Dorman officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.

COURTNI D. MEISER
Courtni D. Meiser, 17, of Thompsontown RR 1 died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000 from injuries suffered in an auto accident.
She was born Jan. 27, 1982.
She was a senior at Greenwood High School, Millerstown, where she was president of the FFA and was awarded the Keystone Degree at this year's Farm Show, a member of Peer Assisted Learning and the Business Club; attended Turkey Valley United Methodist Church, Millerstown RR 2; worked at Arby's Restaurant, Duncannon, and previously at Lost Creek Golf Club Snack Bar, Oakland Mills, and Hersheypark; and enjoyed swimming and country music.
Surviving are her parents, Harry L. and Melinda J. Walters Meiser; a brother, Michael L. of Charles County, Md.; a sister, Amber Meiser of Thompsontown RR 1; her paternal grandparents, George and Althea Meiser of McAlisterville RR 1; her maternal grandparents, Clyde and Shirley Barth of Calabash, N.C., and Robert and Maryls Walters of Beavertown.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Jan. 20, at Turkey Valley Church with pastor Salvatore E. Buonocore officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville.
Viewing will be from 4 to 9 p.m., Jan. 19, in Sheaffer Funeral Home, McAlisterville.
