STEPHEN W. MOORE
Stephen Wright Moore, 53, of Elliottsburg RR died Tuesday, April 3, 2001 in Florida of pneumonia.
He was born Jan. 22, 1948 in Stamford, Texas.
He was a graduate of Greenwood High School and Dickinson College, Carlisle; and served in the Pennsylvania National Guard, attaining the rank of captain.
Surviving are two daughters, Alisson Moore of Florida and Melissa Moore of Millerstown; his father, William J. Moore Sr. of New Bloomfield; a brother, William J. Moore Jr. of Millerstown; and a granddaughter, Brianne Moore.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Wright Moore.
Services were held April 11 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with pastor John Gelnett officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, Millerstown.

CAMILLO A. NAZZARO
Camillo A. Nazzaro, 79, of Bethlehem died Monday, Sept. 17, 2001 in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill.
He was born in Jersey City, N.J., to the late Joseph and Rose (Petullo) Nazzaro.
He was a layout operator at the former Western Electric in Allentown for 40 years, retiring in 1990; a graduate of Brooklyn Technical School, Brooklyn, N.Y.; a Navy veteran of World War II; and a member of the MORA Club of Bethlehem and Telephone Pioneers of the Lehigh Valley.
He was the widower of Rose M. Ceglia Nazzaro, who died November, 1997.
Surviving are a son, Joseph C. of Millerstown; two daughters, Rose M. Smull of Bethlehem and Almerica M. Lebson of East Stroudsburg; two sisters, Mary Arguelles of Forest Hills, N.Y., and Eleanor Russo of Hamilton, N.J.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Services were held Sept. 22 in Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Bethlehem.

HELEN M. NUTTALL
Helen M. Nuttall, 82, of Blain RR 1 died Tuesday, March 6, 2001 in Carlisle Hospital.
She was born May 11, 1918 at Blain RR 1 to the late Guy D. and Cora E. (Anderson) Shanafelter.
She was retired from Sackville Mills, Brookhaven, and formerly was a welder at the Chester Shipyard; and a member of the Blain Ambulance Club.
Surviving are her husband, William C. Nuttall; two sons, John T. Kane of Chadsford and James M. Kane of Ephrata; a daughter, Helen J. Pearson of Landisburg; three brothers, Guy, James and Kenneth Shanafelter, all of Blain; two sisters, Inez Bender of Landisburg and Patricia Smith of Blain; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services were held March 9 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with the Rev. John S. Kipp officiating. Burial was in Blain Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Blain Ambulance Club, Blain 17006.

MORRIS L. NEMSER
Morris L. Nemser, 82, of Logan Street, Lewistown, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001 in Lewistown Hospital.
He was born June 23, 1918 at McKees Rock to the late Joseph and Emma (Marianhoff) Nemser.
He retired in 1980 as chief social worker for the state Department of Public Welfare in Harrisburg, after 27 years; was an Army veteran of World War II; and received a master's degree in social work from the University of Pittsburgh in 1949.
Surviving are four sons, Neil C. Nemser of Abingdon, Md., Marc A. Nemser of Evans, Ga., Michael J. Nemser of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Daniel Radha Krishna of Richmond, Calif.; five daughters, Elissa Maguire of Casselberry, Fla., Maryl Weady of Tracy, Calif., Paula Tetirick of Liberty, Ky., Jo Bajescu of Rochester, N.Y., and Rebecca Nadel of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; two sisters, Myra Seigel of Chatsworth, Calif., and Phyllis Katz of Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Hoenstine Funeral Home, Lewistown, handled arrangements.

FRANCIS OAKES
Francis "Fran" Oakes, 62, of Harrisburg died Sunday, June 10, 2001 at home.
He was born April 12, 1939 in Clymer to the late Irvin E. and Violet (Bartlebaugh) Oakes.
He retired as a chief warrant officer 5 from the Pennsylvania National Guard and as a maintenance technician for the Pennsylvania Army National Guard at Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville; was a 1957 graduate of Central Dauphin High School; a life member of Rutherford Youth Club where he was a baseball and softball coach; a member of American Legion Post 730, Penbrook, and the Chapel of the Four Chaplains Association; and enjoyed fishing, hunting and dog breeding and was a fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Gerianne Houser Oakes; a son, Larry S. of Camp Hill; two daughters, Cheryl L. Bobb and Lori A. Oakes, both of Rutherford; a brother, Richard E. of Marysville; a sister, Marilyn K. Fuller of Syracuse, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.
Services were held June 14 in Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Hummelstown, with LTC Rodney K. Miller officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg.

THOMAS P. OWENS
Thomas P. Owens, 78, of Blain RR 1 died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001 in Carlisle Hospital.
He was born March 6, 1922 in Chester to the late James L. and Sarah (Forrester) Owens.
He retired from the Sun Shipyards, Chester; was an Army veteran of World War II; and a member of New Bloomfield VFW Post 7463, Dry Run American Legion Post 232, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 49 and the Blain Ambulance Club.
He was the widower of Ruth H. Shanafelter Owens, who died Feb. 15, 1993.
Surviving are a brother and two sisters.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, Billy Kane, who died in 1958.
A graveside service, with military honors, was held Jan. 27 in Blain Cemetery.
Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, handled arrangements.

WILMA J. OWEN
Wilma J. Owen, 73, of New Bloomfield RR 1 died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001 in Perry Village Nursing Home, New Bloomfield.
She was born Feb. 13, 1928 in Shermans Dale to the late Oscar W. and Miriam R. (Fenicle) Hummel.
She retired from the former Navy Ships Parts Control Center, Mechanicsburg, and was co-owner of the Owen Christmas Tree Farm; a member of Shermans Dale United Methodist Church; and enjoyed cooking, arts and crafts.
Surviving are her husband, Paul J. Owen Jr.; two sons, Steven R. and Barry K., both of New Bloomfield; a brother, Leo Hummel of Shermans Dale; five sisters, Gloria McAlister of Marysville, Janet Schmohl, Nancy Jumper and Geraldine McKenney, all of Carlisle, and Donna Geesaman of Harrisburg; and five grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 27 in her church with the Rev. N. Jefferson Brewster officiating. Burial was in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, handled arrangements.

BRADLEY W. POLING JR.
Bradley W. Poling Jr., 51, of Susquehanna Street, Marysville, died Sunday, April 15, 2001 at home.
He was a facilities supervisor for Penn National Insurance Co., Harrisburg, and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his wife, Carol L. Dewalt Poling; two sisters, Kathryn L. Pratt of Marysville and Lisa S. Polliet of Havre de Grace, Md.; and a brother, Michael A. of Hummelstown.
Memorial services were held April 21 in Spring Creek Church of the Brethren, Hershey.
Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville, handled arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 1517 Cedar Cliff Drive, Camp Hill 17011.

HELEN W. PATERSON
Helen W. Paterson, 78, of Tampa, Fla., died there Tuesday, July 10, 2001.
She was a native of Newport and a registered nurse.
She was the widow of William V. Paterson.
Surviving are a daughter, Patricia A. of Chicago; a son, William V. of Adamstown, Md.; a brother, Norman O. Wagner of Newport; two sisters, Susan Wagner of Newport and Nancy Ashner of Lehighton, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
Blount, Curry and Roel Funeral Home, Tampa, handled arrangements.

JOSEPH PHILLIPS JR.
Joseph M. Phillips Jr., 77, of Fox Hollow Road, Shermans Dale, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001 in Carlisle Hospital.
He was born March 3, 1923 in Carthage, Moore County, N.C., to the late Joseph M. Sr. and Marion (Gray) Phillips.
He retired from Mutual Life Insurance Co. and Kinney Shoe Corp.; was a Navy veteran of World War II; and attended Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Flora Fortney Phillips of Shermans Dale; a son, Joseph M. III of Gambrills, Md.; a daughter, Laura Lynn Varga of Riva, Md.; two sisters, Florence Hewitt of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Emma Paschal of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 30 in Fair Promise United Methodist Church, Glendon, N.C. Burial was in the church Cemetery.
Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, handled arrangements.
