JESSE TIMMONS
Jesse Timmons died Monday, June 11, 2001, in Arlington, Va.
He retired after 32 years with NASA, and also worked for BDM, Bionetics, and Fairfax County in Virginia; was a member of Centreville Baptist Church, where he was active in the God's Own Golden Oldies group.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Gail Timmons, of Centreville, Va., his mother, Ida Reisinger of Eshcol; three children, Deborah Bollinger of Yorktown, Va., Christopher Timmons of Poquoson, Va., and Kelly Timmons of Hampton, Va.; a sister, Pat Bartow of Conestoga; three brothers, Henry Timmons of Landisburg, Willie Reisinger of Loysville and Steve Reisinger of Eshcol; and four grandchildren.

RUTH C. TURLEY
Ruth Carolyn Turley, 80, of Victoria, Texas, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001.
She was born March 1, 1920 in Shermans Dale to the late Harry C. and Cora K. (Smith) Gutshall.
She was a registered nurse, a homemaker and graduated from the former New Bloomfield High School.
She was the widow of Olen Woodford Turley.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Resmussen of Elkhorn, Neb., and Ann Smith of Lockhart, Texas; two sons, James of Victoria and John of Tomball, Texas; a sister, Janet Smith of Duncannon; an adopted sister, Karen Patton of Harrisburg; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Paul, and three brothers, Luther Gutshall, Marion "Dutch" Gutshall and Harry "Hen" Gutshall.
Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Texas. Colonial Funeral Home, Victoria, handled arrangements.

Charles H. Unger
Charles H. Unger, 83, of Shanamantown Road, North Annville Twp., died Wednesday, June 27, 2001 at home.
He had been a truck driver for LebArnold, Lebanon; was a life member and former chief of the Cleona Fire Company; a member and usher of Bethany United Methodist Church, Palmyra, and a former secretary of its Men's Bible Class; and a member of the Lebanon County Firemen's Association and the Palmyra Senior Citizens.
Surviving are his wife, Almeda Doutrich Tienter Berkheiser Unger; three sons, William C. Unger of Lebanon, Eric A. Tienter of Jacksonville, N.C. and Barry A. Tienter of New Bloomfield; six daughters, Mary L. Kosmela of Schaefferstown, Colette Click of Arab, Ala., Dawn A. Sheaffer of Scottsdale, Ariz., Denise A. Berheiser of Palmyra, Lori A. Madara of Reading and Lisa A. Longenecker of Annville; two brothers, Harold J. of Sacramento, Calif. and Clifford F. of Palmyra; two sisters, Irene Risser of Mesa, Ariz., and Christine Smith of Palmyra; 24 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services were held July 2 in his church. Burial was in Mount Annville Cemetery, North Annville Twp.
Memorial donations may be made to PinnacleHealth Hospital, 3705 Elmwood Drive, Harrisburg 17110, or his church, South Railroad and Cherry streets, Palmyra 17078.

ROBERTA B. UMBERGER
Roberta B. Umberger, 76, of Locust Way, Carlisle, and formerly of Marysville, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
She retired from Cumberland Valley School District; was a 1943 graduate of the former Marysville High School; past president of Christian Endeavor in Perry County and the Southeast Central District, and co-director with her husband of Perry County Youth Retreat for 18 years at Doubling Gap, Newville; a member of Carlisle First Church of God and its ladies Bible class, and Bellaire Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Carlisle.
Surviving are her husband, G. Robert Umberger, and a daughter, Nancyann Sheaffer of Mechanicsburg.
Services were held Oct. 11 in her church with the Rev. D. Alan Mathna officiating. Burial was in LeTort Cemetery, Carlisle.
Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville, handled arrangements.

BEATRICE F. WASSAM
Beatrice F. Wassam, 93, of Millerstown RR 2 died Tuesday, May 1, 2001 at home.
She was born Aug. 23, 1907 in Pittsburgh to the late Oscar and Ella Mae (Cauffman) Fyler.
She was a graduate of Swissvale High School and the Duff's Iron City College, Pittsburgh, and was an active member of Pfoutz Valley United Methodist Church, Millerstown RR 2.
She was the widow of Kenneth W. Wassam, who died in 1979.
Surviving are a son, Robert A. of St. Matthews, S.C.; a daughter, Linda W. Coolbaugh of Millersville, Md.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Oscar Fyler Jr.
Services were held May 4 in her church. Burial was in the church Cemetery.
Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, handled arrangements.

BETTY M. WEIBLEY
Betty M. Weibley, 75, of Marysville died Thursday, March 1, 2001 in Kinkora Pythian Home, Duncannon.
She was retired from Macke Servomation at the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot.
She was the widow of Clarence E. Weibley Sr.
Surviving are two sons, Clarence E. Jr. of Duncannon and Michael E. of Mechanicsburg; six daughters, Helen E. Weibley, Carolyn Jean Robinson, Margaret L. Feltenberger and Barbara J. Dorman, all of Marysville, Nancy J. Holley of Millersburg and Debbi S. Yohn of Lewisberry; a sister, Emma Phillips of Duncannon; two brothers, Robert Lucas of Harrisburg and Foster Lucas of Azle, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services were held March 5 in Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Rye Twp.

CREEDON L. WITMER
Creedon L. Witmer, 84, of Locust Point Road, Mechanicsburg, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001 in Harrisburg Hospital.
He was born April 7, 1916 in South Middleton Twp.
He was retired from John S. Ewell Inc. and Wolf's Bus Lines, Inc., and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, New Kingstown, Teamsters Union and Mack Million Mile Club.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred L. Witmer; a son, Ronald D. of Duncannon; a daughter, Bonnie Jo Witmer-Hull of Marysville; a sister, Phyllis A. Boldosser; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Randy Hull, and a granddaughter, Amanda Leonard.
Services were held Feb. 17 in his church. Burial was in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
Memorial contributions may be made to UCP in memory of Amanda Leonard, the Randy Hull Scholarship Fund, in memory of Randy Hull, or his church.

CHRISTINE M. WOLFE
Christine M. Wolfe, 49, of Johnstown, formerly of Duncannon, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at home.
She was a former special education teacher for the Forest Hills School District; a graduate of Harrisburg Area Community College and Bloomsburg University; and enjoyed antiques and flea markets.
Surviving are a sister, Roxann L. Musser Jones of Johnstown, and a brother, Steven A. Musser of Lykens.
Services were held May 4 in Harris Funeral Home, Richland.

CHARLES R. WELLER
Charles R. Weller, 78, of New Bloomfield RR 1, Centre Twp., died Monday, June 11, 2001 at home.
He was born Jan. 11, 1923 in Centre Twp. to the late Ray and Adella (Sheaffer) Weller.
He was a retired self-employed general contractor and carpenter, and a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Odd Fellows Mackinaw Lodge 380 and New Bloomfield Fire Company.
Surviving are his wife, Bessie Kitner Weller; two sons, Leroy J. and C. Larry, both of New Bloomfield; a brother, David H. of Elliottsburg RR 1; three sisters, Virginia Kretzing and Adella Speace, both of Elliottsburg RR 1, and Nancy Orris of New Bloomfield; and four grandchildren.
Services were held June 14 in Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, with the Rev. Robert P. Knight officiating. Burial was in Bloomfield Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Bloomfield Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 313, New Bloomfield 17068, or to his church, P.O. Box 448, New Bloomfield.

DAVID T. WITTLE
David Todd Wittle, 17, of Anthony Drive, Marysville, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001 in Hershey Medical Center as the result of a traffic accident.
He was a former student at East Pennsboro High School.
Surviving are his father and stepmother, David A. and Ann Marie Wittle of Boston, Mass.; his mother and stepfather, Patricia A. and John Liddick, with whom he lived; two brothers, Anthony James Wittle and Jonathan Liddick, both at home; and his paternal grandparents, Donald and Pauline Wittle, and paternal stepgrandparents, John and Donna Liddick, all of Enola.
Services were held Jan. 17 in Sullivan Funeral Home, Enola. Burial was in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill.

ELEANOR J. WILSON
Eleanor J. Wilson, 81, of Stonebridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Duncannon, died there Wednesday, May 30, 2001.
She was born June 26, 1919 in Newport to the late William and Jeanette (Miller) Gipe.
She was a member of the Church of God, Duncannon, and enjoyed yard sales.
Surviving are three sons, Robert L. of Duncannon, Alfred V. of New Bloomfield and Larry R. of Newport; two stepsons, Robert E. of Mechanicsburg and Vernon C. Wilson of Newport; a sister, Jean McCoy of Newport; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services were held June 1 in Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. Randall Goshorn officiating. Burial was Mount Gilead Cemetery, Shermans Dale.
Memorial contributions may be made to Roseglen United Methodist Church, 722 New Bloomfield Road, Duncannon 17020.
