Brenda Lee Stuter
MIDDLEBURG — Brenda Lee Stuter, 41, of RR3, Washington Township, Snyder County, entered into rest at 10:20 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, at her residence.
Brenda was born on Nov. 22, 1963, in Harrisburg, a daughter of Wilson and Betty (Kissinger) Klock of Herndon. On May 10, 1997, in Poe Paddy State Park, Brenda was united in marriage to Daniel Stuter.
Mrs. Stuter is a 1982 graduate of Line Mountain High School.
Brenda was a homemaker and loving mother who enjoyed making crafts, going camping and spending time with her son.
Surviving in addition to her parents and husband is: a son, Joseph Alvin Stuter at home, and a sister, Lynette Miller of Lykens.
She was preceded in death by: a son, Austin Lee Stuter.
Friends and family may call 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at the Mifflinburg Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 80 Church Road, Mifflinburg. The funeral will follow with the Rev. Robert E. Iddings, pastor of Reedsville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Church Cemetery, West Buffalo Township, Union County.

HARRISBURG — Martin Koons, 85, Harrisburg, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at Community General Osteopathic Hospital.
He was a retired school teach from the Steelton-Highspire School District; he was a football coach for Steelton, John Harris and Burnham. He was a member of Colonial Park United Methodist Church of Christ. He was a WWII Army Corp of Engineers veteran.
Surviving are: his wife, Lenora A.; one son, Martin Edward, Baltimore; two sisters, Kathryn Di Martile, Harrisburg, and Mary Imdoden, Harrisburg.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004 at Hetrick Funeral Home, Inc.,3125 Walnut St., Harrisburg. There will be no viewing from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Garderns.

Bertha P. Moffet
LEWISTOWN — Bertha P. Moffet, 92, resident of Ohesson Manor Nursing Home, Lewistown, went to be with Lord at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at Ohesson Manor Nursing Home, Lewistown.
Born Nov. 19, 1912, in Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Della (Sollers) Linn. Her husband, W. Clarence Moffet,, of 603 S. Grand St., whom she married April 8, 1933, survives.
Also surviving are: three children, Janice Doty and husband, Robert, Winston Salem, N.C., Eileen Wilson and husband, Ray, Lewistown, and Prentiss R. Moffet, McAlisterville; two half-brothers and two half-sisters; seven grandchildren, Eric Moffet, Kingsport, Tenn., Brian Moffet, Chesapeake, Va., Jill North, Reedsville, Douglas Wilson, Lewistown, Patrick Wilson, Lewistown, Shayne Doty, Washington, D.C., and Blake Doty, Atlanta, Ga.; and seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by: a son, Dr. Richard Moffet in 1978; two brothers, Gene and Clair Linn; and two sisters, Sarah Ulsh and Mary Singleton.
She retired from Arrow Div. of Cluett-Peabody and Co. in 1976, after 23 1/2 years of service. She also worked at American Viscose Corp.
She attended Lewistown Assembly of God Church.
She was a member of the ACTU Retirees and served as chaplin of the organization.
Her funeral service will held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at Lewistown Assembly of God Church, Sixth Street and Summit Drive, Lewistown, with the Rev. Harold N. Imes officiating. Interment will be held in Juniata Memorial Park Cemetery.
Her viewing for family and friends will be held at 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Hoenstine Funeral, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, and 10 to 10: 30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

LEWISTOWN —Thomas M. Mixer, 63, of 87 Scenic Drive, Lewistown, died at his residence at 7:42 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004. Barr Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
L. Carl ‘Speed’ McCLure
PORT ROYAL — L. Carl “Speed” McCLure, 78, of RR 2 Port Royal, died at 2:42 a.m., Monday, Dec. 27, 2004 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
He was born July 16, 1926, in Turbett Township, Juniata County, to the late Furman and Frances (Dysinger) McClure.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah F. (Gray) McClure on July 4, 2001.
He is also survived by one daughter and one son: Mrs. Glen (Vivian) Brubaker of RR 1, Honey Grove and Donald J. McClure and wife Pamela of RR 3, Port Royal; one brother: James L. McClure of RR 3, Port Royal; five grandchildren: Jennifer Leach, Matthew, Adam, Mark and Andrew Brubaker; two great-grandchildren: Timothy Sundy and Gaven Leach.
He was preceded in death by one brother, T. Harvey McClure and one sister Pauline Leply.
He was a retired dairy farmer and a former Tuscarora Valley High School Board Director. He was known for growing Christmas trees and had worked for Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal. He was a 1945 graduate of Tuscarora Valley High School, Port Royal. He was also a member of the Port Royal United Methodist Church where he served on various committees. He was a member for over 60 years of the Turbett Grange 781; Pamona Grange 35 and Juniata County Holstein Assoc. along with other farm organizations.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 30, at Rex Funeral Home in Port Royal, with the Rev. Kenneth R. Kitzmiller officiating.
A viewing will be held from 7-9, Wednesday, Dec. 29, at the Rex Funeral Home. Interment will be in Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
The family will provide flowers, however, memorial donations may be made to the Port Royal United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 396, Port Royal, PA 17082-0396.
Helen Kathryn Williams
PENN RUN — Helen Kathryn Williams, 92, of Penn Run, formerly of Penn Hills, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 18, 1912, to John and Catherine Gorman Smith in Penn Run. Surviving are two children: Mary Price and husband Richard of McVeytown, James Williams and wife Judi of Penn Run; five grandchildren: Kathryn, Richard, Samuel, Kristin, Kevin; three great-grandchildren: Emily Amato, McKenna and Jameson Price.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband: H. Frederick Williams in 1984; four brothers: Harry, John, Wayne and Ralph Smith; three sisters: Mary Goodnight, Gertrude Leasure and Evelyn Fleming.
She had been a resident of Penn Hills for nearly 50 years prior to moving back to Penn Run. Mrs. Williams was an avid gardner who enjoyed poetry, reading and belonged to a bridge club while living in Penn Hills. She was a member of Harmony United Presbyterian Church, Penn Run.
Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at the Harmony United Presbyterian Church, Penn Run.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Lea Austin officiating. A service of committal will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana. The Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana is handling the arrangements.

Betty D. George
DEPEW N.Y. — Betty D. George, 75, of 47 Doe Haven Circle, Depew, N.Y., died at 5:27 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Williamsville, N.Y.
Born Sept. 24, 1929, in Fannettsburg, Pa., she was a daughter of the late John D. and Hulda Mary (Wincer) Laird. Her husband, Louis M. George, died Jan. 10, 1994.
Surviving are three daughters, Thelma J. Auman of Lewistown, Nancy D. Hellmann and husband, Adam, of Buffalo, N.Y., and Tina M. Bidwell and husband, John, of Depew, N.Y.; siblings Alonza Laird of Mifflintown, Zelda Baker of Mifflintown and Esther Laird of Lewistown; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles W. Auman Sr. in January 2002, and four brothers and six sisters.
She was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith.
Funeral services will held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Howard D. Houtz officiating. Interment will be at Juniata Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Fred N. Long Sr.
HUNTINGDON — Fred N. Long Sr., 77, of North Huntingdon, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004.
Born April 22, 1927 in Barrville, he was a son of the late Ernest L. and Mary (Treaster) Long. His wife, Anna M. (Fisher) Long, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Judy A. Sapp of Jeanette, Cathy L. Fidler of Murrysville, and Fred N. Long Jr. of North Huntingdon; brother, Walter A. Long of Belleville; five grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: siblings, Robert and Charles Long, Margaret Woodring and June “Betty” Bilger.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a retired supervisor for Hall’s Motor Transit, Youngwood.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. today, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Main and Fifth streets, Irwin.
Mary M. Cramer
DUNCANNON — Mary M. Cramer, 79, of 629 N. Market St., Duncannon, died at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
Born June 1, 1925 in Milroy, she was a daughter of the late Charles B. and Anna M. (Harmon) Wilson. Her husbands, Paul E. Hassinger and Robert Cramer, preceded her in death.
She is survived by: children, James R. Barlett of McClure, Charles H. Barlett of Lewistown, Mark W. Barlett of Arizona, Robin Hampton of Harrisburg, Patricia A. Barlett of Virginia, and Mrs. Richard (Margaret) Hackenberry of Alaska; brothers, Charles R. Wilson of Camp Hill and Richard E. Wilson of Lewistown; several stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by son Robert L. Barlett.
She was a cook at Ulrich’s Restaurant, Dauphin.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family, under the direction of Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery.

Mary L. Heimbach
MILROY — Mary Louise Heimbach, 80, of 127 Treaster-Havice Valley Cross Road, Milroy, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2004 at her home.
Born Oct. 20, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Brown M. and Annie Victoria (Eastwood) Wert. Her husband, Sherwood Clifford Heimbach preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1969, as did her companion of 28 years, Rennell Taylor on Nov. 23, 2001.
She is survived by: siblings, Sarah Syoc, Glenn A. Wert and wife Gladys, Kenneth R. Wert and wife Nancy, all of Lewistown, Irma Schultz of Belleville, Mich., Norman E. Wert and wife Carrie, Curtis B. Wert and wife Nancy, Victoria Thompson and husband Larry, and Arthur L. Wert and wife Alice, all of Milroy; grandchildren, Holly Conrad and Heidi Billbays both of Northumberland, Clint Heimbach of Michigan and Aaron Heimbach of Milroy; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: children, Sherwood B. “Buck” Heimbach on Sept. 8, 1981 and Delores Mildred Heimbach on Feb. 14, 1943; siblings, George E. Wert of Kingston, N.Y. on March 3, 1999, Florence M. “Sis” Hassinger on Sept. 26, 2004, infant brother William Wert and two infant sisters Dorothy and Luella Wert.
Earlier in life she worked at American Viscose in Lewistown.
She was a member of the Milroy and New Lancaster Valley fire companies. She attended New Lancaster Valley Evangelical Methodist Church.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, at the Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main St., Reedsville, with Rev. William A. Herrick officiating. Interment will be in New Lancaster Valley Cemetery, Milroy. A viewing will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
