He was the son of Thelma Clark of Lewistown. His wife of 61 years, Louise A. Weakland of Ocala, survives.
In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by:
children, Judy Volosch of Reading, Pa., Nancy Berkhimer of Beverly Hills, Fla., Dottie May of Chesapeake Beach, Md., Kathy Nyholm of Winter Park, Fla., Ginny Campbell of Ocala, and Billy Weakland of Summerfield, Fla.; brother, Robert Clark Jr. of Indianapolis, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
He was a native of Coalport, Pa. having moved to Ocala from Fairless Hills, Pa. 35 years ago.
He was a member of St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 8012, American Legion Post 284 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8083, Belleview.

Annie E. Swartzlander
MIFFLIN - Annie E. Swartzlander, 88, of Locust Grove Retirement Village, HC 67 Mifflin, and formerly of McAlisterville, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">died at 10:35 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2005, at the Village.
She was born Sept. 24, 1916, in McAlisterville, Juniata County, a daughter of Charles and Annie (Leister) Swartzlander.
She is survived by: two sisters, Esther Ostrum, Orlando, Fla., Evelyn Riggin, Mifflin; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">death by one sister, Sara Swartzlander Shellenberger and one brother, Edward Swartzlander.
She graduated from Fayette High School in 1935.
In earlier life she was employed as a seamstress by Lyons Fashions, McAlisterville and later was employed at the Woolco Department Store, Lakeland, Fla., until her retirement.
She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, McAlisterville, the Lady Lafayette Rebekah Lodge 384, McAlisterville and in her earlier years, she assisted with the McAlisterville Brownie troop.
Family and friends may gather for a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, from the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, McAlisterville, with the Rev. James Park Bricker and intern pastor Erin Bovendam offciating.
Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville and will be held at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
The family will provide all funeral flowers.

Charles W. Yorks Sr.
MCVEYTOWN – Charles W. Born Oct. 13, 1947, in Lewistown, he was the son of Blanche (Rothrock) Yorks, of Lewistown, and the late John O. Yorks Sr. His wife, Jane E. (Specht) Yorks, whom he married on Oct. 10, 1971, survives.
Also surviving are: two children, Billie Williams and husband Robert Sr., of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Charles W. Yorks Jr. and companion April L. House, of McVeytown; siblings, John O. Yorks Jr. and wife Sara, of Mifflintown, the Rev. Donald E. Yorks Sr. and wife Carol, of Montoursville, David P. Yorks and wife Brenda, of Lewistown, Jake W. Yorks Sr. and wife Nila, of Norfolk, Va., Clara L. Schlegel, of Thompsontown, Cora L. Yorks and companion Steven Liddick, Cloyd E. Yorks, both of Lewistown, Stanley M. Yorks and wife Caroline, of Rolla Mo., Pearl Y. Hall and husband Greg, of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Barbara J. Murphy and husband Michael, of Norfolk, Va., and Linda S. Fallon and husband Thomas, of Lewistown; and seven grandchildren, Taylor, Robert Jr., Mackenzie Williams, Kyle, Chase, Erin Noel Yorks and Braelyn Fleck.
He graduated from Rothrock High School in 1967, and was employed as a machinist at CASE New Holland, Belleville, for 27 years, retiring in 2003. He was also a part-time carrier for The Sentinel.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War as an engineer.
He was a member of The Moose Family Center, Lewistown.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of Juniata Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown. There will be no public viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund at www.VVMF.org, or the American Cancer Society, 26 N. Brown St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
Violet C. Mills
EAST WATERFORD – Violet C. Born Feb. 24, 1908, in Shade Valley, Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Harry H. and Elizabeth (Mefford) Burdge. Her husband of nearly 54 years, Ralph C. She is survived by: a foster daughter, Pastor Judy D. Rowles, RR 1 East Waterford; two foster grandchildren, Richard Harvey and Tammy Hutchinson, both of Honey Grove; and five foster great-grandchildren, Dakota Hutchinson, Austin Hutchinson, Whitney Harvey, Hunter Harvey and Heidi Harvey.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Village Lighthouse, HCR-61, Blairs Mills, with her foster daughter, Pastor Judy D. Rowles, officiating. Interment will follow in the East Waterford Cemetery.
Viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church.

Fred R. Romig
MIFFLINTOWN – Fred R. Romig, 62, of Mifflintown, and briefly of Brookline Manor, Mifflintown, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">passed away at 6:10 p.m. Friday March 4, 2005, at Lewistown Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past two weeks.
Born March 22, 1942, in Lewisburg, he was a son of the late Paul W. and Beatrice C. (Maurer) Romig.
Surviving are: two sisters, May R. Chippeaux, of York, and Jane E. Stine, of Mifflinburg; three brothers, Carlo P., Darwin L., both of Beaver Springs, and Donald L. “Knuck,” of Beavertown; and many nieces and nephews.
He graduated from the former West Snyder High School, Class of 1960.
In 1999, he retired from the Ironworkers Union after 36 years of setting steel.
He served in the National Guard for many years.
He enjoyed golfing, and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 925, Millerstown, the Amvets Post 122, and American Legion Post 942, McClure.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Aurand Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, with the Rev. David Meckley officiating. Interment will be in the Adamsburg Cemetery, Beaver Springs.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m., with the family being present 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
Audice L. Rodkey

Born May 25, 1917 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late William E. and Cora (Bailey) Rodkey. His wife, Esther “Becky” (Logan) Rodkey of Kish Apartments, Lewistown, whom he married June 21, 1936, survives.
Also surviving are sons, Alan L. Rodkey, of Indian Trails, N.C., the Rev. Audice “Abe” Rodkey, and wife, Karen, of Chester, Charles “Tom” Rodkey, and wife, Connie, of McVeytown, and James C. Rodkey, and wife, Diane, of York; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Evangel Baptist Church, where he served Christ in many capacities in music, education and administration.
His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Evangel Baptist Church, with his son, the Rev. Audice “Abe” Rodkey and the Rev. Darrell Wireman officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at the Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown.

Ruth E. Varner
MIFFLINTOWN-Ruth E. Born June 16, 1922, in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late William and Frances Kraemer. Her husband, Forest S. She is survived by four children, Forest S. Varner Jr., RR 2, McAlisterville, Gloria J. Varner, RR 3, Mifflintown, Ruthann M. Gill and husband, James E. Gill Jr., Tylersburg, and Robert L. Varner and wife, Glenda, Reedsville; one sister, Esther Knappenberger, Souderton, nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Brenda Gill officiating. Interment will be in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

George W. Baney

Born November 4, 1927, in Warriors Mark, Pa., he was a son of the late Clyde W. and Emma Snare Baney
On October 10, 1960, he married Kathryn V. Graham, who preceded him in Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">death on February 3, 1991.
Mr. Baney served in the U.S. Navy from January 18, 1946, until his discharge as a Seaman Second Class on March 14, 1947. He served on the USS Antietam CV-36. He earned a World War II Victory Ribbon.
For 17 years, Mr. Baney worked as a forklift operator in the food service division at Penn State University, retiring in 1990. He also worked as a shop foreman and bus driver for Fullington Bus Company, and later as a van driver for Miller-Reese Bus Company in Centre Hall.
Mr. Baney enjoyed being a part of many organizations as is evidenced by his membership in the following: The Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 143 Lewistown, the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, Lodge 1600, State College, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Lodge 3138 in Lewistown, the American Legion Post 287, Milroy, the V. F. W. Post 9575 in Potters Mills, the Millheim Fire Company, the Brooklyn and City Fire companies in Lewistown, and the Yeagertown Fire Company.
Mr. Baney especially enjoyed hunting and woodworking.
He is survived by a granddaughter, Cindy Gummo Puff of rural Centre Hall; four great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren, two sisters, two brothers; two step-daughters, Nancy G. Koch Walls of Kulpsville, Pa., and Laura Kaye Koch Dorman of Blanchard, Pa., and a stepson, Fred G. Koch.

He was the oldest living member the Lost Creek Presbyterian Church, McAlisterville, where he served as elder, clerk of session and as a delegate of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church. He also served on the Juniata County School District board of directors, the board of directors of the Eastern Milk Producers and was a member of the Walker Grange.
He had a passion for travel.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 10, 2005 from the Lost Creek Presbyterian Church, McAlisterville, with the Rev. Graham C. Fowler officiating. Interment will be in the Lost Creek Presbyterian Cemetery, McAlisterville.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Lost Creek Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 91, McAlisterville, PA 17049.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the McAlisterville Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville.
