He was born March 5, 1944, in Danville, the son of the late Paul William and Anna Mae (Niemond) Master. His wife, Norma E. (Kennedy) Master, whom he married on June 29, 1963, survives.
In addition to his wife, also surviving are: a son, Timothy E. Master, of RR 2, McAlisterville, and fiance Pam Werner; two daughters, Christine S. Kline and husband Douglas, Oriental, and Sharon L. Wehler and husband Timothy, HC-63, Mifflintown; a brother, Robert E. Master and wife Jane, RR 2, McAlisterville; an aunt, Betty Hoffman, RR 1, Richfield; six grandchildren, Rachel Marie Master, Stephanie Lynn Kline, Nicholas Andrew Kline, Corinne Marie Wehler, Kylie Michelle Wehler and Sky Amber Master; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was a 1962 graduate of East Juniata High School and a member of the Bunkertown Church of the Brethren, where he served on the church board and the steward commission.
He was employed by Ingram Micro, Harrisburg. Earlier in life, he was the manager of Orweco Frocks, Mifflintown, for almost 20 years and worked in numerous dress factories.
He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid baseball fan who coached little league baseball in his early years. However, his greatest joy was spending time with family and attending the activities of his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from the Bunkertown Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Eugene Heidler officiating. Interment will follow in Goodwill Cemetery, Bunkertown.
Viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bunkertown Church of the Brethren, Building Fund, 20 Bunkertown Road, McAlisterville, PA 17049.
The McAlisterville Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, is in charge of the arrangements.

Sylvester ‘Russell’ Ritter

STATE COLLEGE - Sylvester “Russell” Ritter, 68, of University Park Nursing Center, State College, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">died at 8:55 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.
Born April 11, 1935 in Milroy, he was a son of the late Sylvester Joseph and Esther B. (Baumgardner) Ritter. His wife, Phyllis J. (McMillin) Ritter, whom he married on April 2, 1961, survives.
Also surviving are children Rusty J. Ritter, Randy J. Ritter and Ricky J. Ritter, all of McClure and Nancy J. Ritter and Dianne M. Ritter, both of Lewistown; siblings Anna Ritter, Virginia Gingerich and William Ritter, all of Yeagertown, Charles Ritter and Dennis Ritter, both of New Jersey, Peggy Ritter, James Ritter, Daniel Ritter, Shirley LeFevre, Jackie Zimmerman and Anna Lee Zimmerman, all of Lewistown, and Pat Rhodes of Willow Hill; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">death by two brothers, Joseph F. Ritter on June 3, 1998 and Harold L. Ritter on April 12, 2002.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea from 1954 to 1957.
He had been a farmer and was also a member of AARP.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main St., Reedsville, with Rev. George S. Smith officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Alexis Marie Knepp

Born Nov. 20, 2003, she was the daughter of Shawn and Nicole (Bassler) Knepp, 100 N. Walnut St., Lewistown, who survive.
Also surviving are maternal grandparents, James Robert and Therese E. Bassler Jr., Lewistown; paternal grandparents, James Knepp, McAlisterville and Linda Newman, Middleburg; and paternal great-grandparent, Ruth Knepp, McAlisterville.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the alter at Shade Gap Mountain, McAlisterville with Rev. John White officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family at 100 N. Walnut St., Apt. 6, Lewistown, PA 17044.

David C. Zimmerman

He was born April 13, 1929 in Licking Creek Valley, a son of the late Chester D. and Sara (Nealman) Zimmerman. His wife, Virginia M. (Rice) Zimmerman, whom he married July 30, 1955, survives.
Also surviving are four children, Rusty Zimmerman and wife Deb, Scott Zimmerman and wife Candi, both of RR2, Port Royal, Mitzi Berrier and husband Mike, Hughesville, and Chuck Zimmerman and wife Lisa, Lewistown; seven brothers, Kenneth E. Zimmerman, RR 1, Port Royal, Warren “Butch” Zimmerman, Edward A. Zimmerman, both of RR3, Mifflintown, Richard R. Zimmerman, Mifflintown, Fred Zimmerman, RR1, Mifflintown, Ted Zimmerman, HC67, Mifflin, and Larry Zimmerman, RR2, Port Royal; two sisters, Darlene “Sis” Long and Vickie Bryner, both of Port Royal, RR2; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict.
He was a retired over-the-road truck driver, owning Dave’s Trucking.
He was a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Spectacle Gap Camp, Mifflin Fire Company and Juniata Fire Police, and was a former deputy civil defense director. He enjoyed hunting and racing and was an avid fan and former team sponsor of the Tuscarora Softball Association.
His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Louise Knotts officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Mifflintown, where military honors will be provided by the Juniata County Veterans Council.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Linda K. Decker

STATE COLLEGE - Linda K. She is survived by children, Michael J. Ritter, Lori Ann Jones, Floyd M. Decker, all of Lewistown, Linda M. Wise, of Shamokin, and Amy B. Gutshall, of Mifflintown; and 15 grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family under the direction of Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown.

Edith Louise Singleton

She is survived by children, Lee Conyers, Cheryl Hartline, Thomas Singleton and Marci Dutton; grandchildren, Andrew Hartline, Bruce Conyers, Troy Conyers, Richard Hartline, John Singleton, Carey Jones, Steven Singleton, Marie Hayden and Beau Dutton; and great-grandchildren, Hannah Hartline, Hope Hartline, Isabella Hartline, Lorelai Hayden and Cole Singleton.
She was a former credit manager for Sears Department Store in Deland, Fla.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at First Baptist Church, Terry, Miss.

Elaine Ann Kirk

Born March 27, 1943, in Gettysburg, Adams County, a daughter of Clifford Harmond, Gettysburg and the late Regina Harmond. Her husband, Elmer J. Kirk, whom she married Nov. 25, 1967, survives.
In addition to her father and husband, also surviving is one brother, Terry H. Harmond, Silver Springs.

She was a 1961 graduate of Gettysburg High School and a member of the South Juniata Baptist Church, R.R. 1, Honey Grove.
She worked in various sewing factories in Juniata County, as a nurses’ aide for the Gettysburg Hospital and as a private duty nurse for the elderly.
She loved cooking, baking and taking care of animals.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2005, from the South Juniata Baptist Church, R.R. 1, Honey Grove, with Pastor Dennis Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the East Waterford Cemetery, East Waterford.
A viewing will be held 7-9 p.m. Thursday, at the South Juniata Baptist Church, R.R. 1, Honey Grove.
Memorial contributions may be made to the South Juniata Baptist Church, R.R. 1, Box 155, Honey Grove, PA 17035.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.

Glenn W. “Chubb” Horning

Born July 17, 1918, in Licking Creek, Milford Township, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Charles and Ella (Longacre) Horning. His wife of nearly 64 years, Betty J. (Kennedy) Horning, whom he married on Dec. 27, 1941, survives him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: one son, Dennis L. Horning, RR1, McAlisterville; two sisters, Pauline G. Fogleman, Locust Grove Retirement Home, HC 67, Mifflin, LaRue Ebright, Wilmington, Del.; two grandchildren, Toby Horning and wife, Shelly, Denise Brubaker and husband, Deron; three great-grandchildren, Kasi Horning, Carson Horning and Amara Brubaker.

He owned and operated a sawmill with his brother Ralph for over 30 years and later worked for various construction companies. After his retirement he worked for Donald Kinzer laying carpet and later he helped his son and grandson at Horning’s Pallets.
He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, McAlisterville, and a past member of the American Legion Post #298, Crawford-Brubaker VFW Post 5863, both of Mifflintown, and the Lost Creek Golf Club, Oakland Mills.
He was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman, and he enjoyed loafing with his friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2005, from McAlisterville Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with his Pastor the Rev. James Park Bricker officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville.
Viewing will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. with the family present from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2005, at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorial contributions may be to: his church, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 15, McAlisterville, PA 17049.

Sydney Chaise Loudenslager

In addition to her parents, she is survived by paternal grandparents, Harold F. and Rosemary Loudenslager, of Lewistown; maternal grandparents, Tony and Debbie Peace, of Freeport, Long Island, N.Y.; two aunts, Tiffany Peace and Misharri Peace; and two uncles, Blaise Peace and Vaughn Peace, all of Freeport.
Though her life was short-lived, the bonds forged with her and the love bestowed upon her, were heartfelt and intense. It cannot be put into words.
Funeral arrangements are private and at the convenience of the family.

Kore E. Kanagy

She is survived by: a brother, John D. Hoffman and wife, Ruth, Camp Hill; a niece, Cindy Slemons, Mechanicsburg; and several aunts and uncles.
She was a methodist by faith.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no public viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: the First United Methodist Church, 200 E. Third St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
