She was born Sept. 4, 1925, in Conneaut, Ohio, a daughter of John D. and Rose A. Pratt Greenawalt. She married Edwin Mandeville Dec. 21, 1955. She graduated from Edinboro State Teachers College in 1946 and attended Case Western Reserve University and the University of Pennsylvania, earning a master's degree in education.
She was a school teacher at East Fallowfield High School, Conneaut, Ohio, Junior High School and for 33 years taught at Scarsdale Public School in Scarsdale, N.Y., retiring in 1995.
She enjoyed teaching, theater, gardening and reading.
She was a member of The Presbyterian Church in White Plains, N.Y. She served as flower chair at the church for 16 years.
She was also a member of the Women's Club of White Plains, White Plains Beautification Foundation, White Plains Retired Teachers Club and Pan Pacific Southeast Asia Women's Association.
Survivors include a sister, Donna R. Wasser of Erie; a brother, John R. Greenawalt of Harmonsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">death by a sister, Esther C. Hunter.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be at The Presbyterian Church, White Plains.

She was born Oct. 10, 1933, in Altoona, a daughter of Thomas and Olive Carter. She was raised by Fred and Olive Carter Averill. She married M. Ray Schrecengost Nov. 26, 1964.
She was a graduate of Altoona High School and Altoona Hospital's licensed practical nursing program.
She retired in 1991 as a licensed practical nurse at Beverly Health Care Meadville after 35 years in nursing. She had also worked at Altoona Hospital and the former Flickenger's Nursing Home.
She was a member of the First Christian Church where she was very active in various church activities.
She was also a 15-year member of the Erie Philharmonic Chorus. She loved singing, playing the organ and her two black Labrador retrievers.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Chris Schrecengost and his wife, Suzanne, of Meadville; a sister, Donna Harding and her husband, William, of Altoona; a brother, William (Jack) Carter and his wife, Bernadine, of New Berlin, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">death by a brother, Larry Carter.
Calling hours will be today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
A funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Terry Clark, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Erie Philharmonic Chorus, 1006 State St., Erie, Pa., 16501.
