Dorothy Ettabelle Knepshield
Washington Township
Dorothy Ettabelle Knepshield, 88, of Washington Township, died Monday, November 8, 2004, in her home.
She was born October 6, 1916, in Niles, Ohio, a daughter of the late Arthur Orman and Dora (Benninger) Held.
Mrs. Knepshield lived in Ohio for 28 years before moving to Washington Township two years ago.
She was employed as a cafeteria aide with the Ashtabula School System, Ashtabula, OH, from which she retired in 1985.
She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Apollo, where she was active in many church functions. She was active in her church in Ohio as well. She also enjoyed knitting, crochetting, sewing, and reading.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Knepshield in 1981; three brothers, Fred Held, Bill Held, and Arthur Held, Jr.; and two sisters, Marjorie Endlich and Rosanna Tressler.
Mrs. Knepshield is survived by four sons: Fred (Debra) Knepshield of Kiski Township, Ronald K. (Carol) Knepshield of Port St. Lucie, FL, Dennis C. (Mary Lou) Knepshield of Lady Lake, FL, and David C. (Jennifer) Knepshield of Kittanning; two daughters, Reverend Judith Carlim (Reverend Thomas) Ainsworth of Newton, NC, and Gretchen Anne (Ray) Klingensmith of Cameron, NC; 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is a sister, Virginia Louise Murray of Fredonia, PA, and many nieces and nephews.
MRS. KNEPSHIELD - Friends may call on Wednesday, November 10, 2004, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC., 100 Owens View Avenue, Apollo, where funeral services will be held on Thursdsay, November 11, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Charles Horn will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Socity, PA Division, Inc., Southwest Region, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.

Dolores J. Ignacz
West Vandergrift
Dolores J. Ignacz, 73, of West Vandergrift, died Thursday, November 4, 2004, in her home.
She was born March 14, 1931, in North Apollo, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Sarah (Spencer) Pagliarulo.
She lived in West Vandergrift most of her life.
Mrs. Ignacz was a homemaker, and also worked at the J.C. Penney store in Vandergrift.
She was a member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, Vandergrift. She was an avid book reader and enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, DeeRose Lanzino.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph W. Ignacz of Vandergrift; a son, Jospeh (Debra) Ignacz of Pittsburgh, a daughter, Kathi (Gary) Beck of Kittanning; and three grandchildren: Ian and Scott Beck and Greg Ignacz.
Also surviving is a brother, Francis (Georgia) Pagliarulo of Ocala, FL, and three step-grandchildren, Hillary and Steven Hall and Tony Beck.
MRS. IGNACZ - Friends will be received on Sunday, November 7, 2004, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m., in the BRADY-CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 429 Franklin Avenue, Vandergrift. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 8, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Gertrude Church, Vandergrift. Interment will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery, Gilpin Township.

Dana A. Hopkins
Saltsburg
Dana A. Hopkins, 29, of Saltsburg, died Thursday, December 2, 2004, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Salem Township, Westmoreland County.
She was born October 10, 1975, in Latrobe, and lived in Saltsburg all of her life.
She was employed as a cashier with the BP Oil and Gas Station, Salem Township.
Mrs. Hopkins enjoyed motorcycles.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Danielle A. Carfagna in 2000.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Hopkins of Saltsburg, two sons, Austin T. and Tyler Hopkins, both of Saltsburg, her mother, Karen A. Kelly of Tunneltion, her stepfather, Douglas Sieczkowski of Saltsburg, a sister, Chelsie L. Carfagna of Tunnelton, and a friend, Scott Heasley of New Alexandria.
MRS. HOPKINS - Friends welcome on Monday, December 6, 2004, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in the CURRAN FUNERAL HOME, 701 Salt Street, Saltsburg, where funeral services will be conducted at Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Cliff Foster will officiate.

Constance "Connie" Z. Mistrick
Allegheny Township

Constance "Connie" Z. Mistrick, 72, of Allegheny Township, died Monday, September 13, 2004, at Loving Care Personal Care Home, Washington Township, where she was a patient for 22 months.
She was born July 25, 1932, a daughter of the late Michael P. and Anna (Bednarick) Zelonka, and lived in Allegheny Township since 1960.
She was employed by the Venturini Home Center, Allegheny Township, and also as a secretary of the Kiski Area School District.
Mrs. Mistrick was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, East Vandergrift and the Slovak Catholic Ladies Association in Cleveland, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Zelonka.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, George R. Mistrick, Allegheny Township; three daughters: Cheryl M. (Mark) Piper, Chantilly, VA; Eileen M. (David) Harrity, Clarkville, MD; and Carolyn M. (Peter) Newton, Clarkville, MD; a son, Richard G. (Tami) Mistrick, State College, PA; six grandchildren; and a sister, Joan (James) Raymond, Allegheny Township.
MRS. MISTRICK - Friends will be received from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2004, in the BRADY-CURRAN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 429 Franklin Avenue, Vandergrift. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 16, 2004, in Our Lady, Queen of Peace Church, East Vandergrift, with Father Michael Sciberras as celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Gertrude Mausoleum, Vandergrift.

Clarence Doland, Jr., 76, of Spring Church, PA, died Sunday, September 26, 2004, at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh, Pa
He was born October 1, 1927, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Clarence Edward and Sophie (Sitek) Doland, Sr.
Having lived in Spring Church most of his life, he was employed by Export Durabond in Export, PA, retiring in 1990. He also was a welder for Apollo Fabricating.
Besides his parents Mr. Doland was preceded in death by
3 brothers, William, Jack & Harold Doland and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Bertha Doland.
He is survived by his wife Carol M. (Grantz) Doland of Shelocta a Daughter - Carla Renae (Don) White of Shelocta;
4 Sons - Clarence Jamie and Joey Bruce (Celinda) Doland of Glen Campbell, PA; Lance J (Danielle) and Shane Edward Doland of Spring Church, PA;
8 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren a Sister Mary Ann Anderson of Spring Church;
4 Brothers - Chuck (Ida) Doland of Apollo; Ray (Ginger) Doland of Saltsburg; Bob (Jane) Doland of Washington Township and Fred (Dolly) Doland of Crystal River, Florida

Catherine A. Putirka
formerly of Hyde Park
Catherine A. Putirka, 86, of Valencia (formerly of Hyde Park), died Monday, December 6, 2004, in Valencia Woods Nursing Home, Valencia.
She was born September 15, 1918, in McKees Rocks, a daughter of the late Domenic and Conceta (Serapiglia) Battista.
Mrs. Putirka was a homemaker, having lived in Hyde Park most of her life, until moving to Valencia six years ago.
She was a member of Christ the King Parish, Leechburg, and the former St. Martha Roman Catholic Church, Leechburg.
She also enjoyed playing Bingo.
Mrs. Putirka was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John F. Putirka in 1993; two brothers, John and Americo Battista; and two sisters, Ann Weber and Jean Glasgow.
Survivors include a daughter, Darlene (Michael) Galippi of Valencia, a granddaughter, Gina Galippi of Valencia; and a sister, Carmella Orsag of South Carolina.
MRS. PUTIRKA - Friends are welcome from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m., on Wednesday, November 8, 2004 in the CURRAN FUNERAL HOME, 300 Market Street, Leechburg, where parting prayers of transfer will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. Funeral Mass will follow in Christ the King Parish, Leechburg at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2004. Father Joseph V. Trupkovich will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery, Gilpin Township.

Carvell McKeever
formerly of Saltsburg
Carvell McKeever, 76, formerly of Saltsburg, died Friday, December 3, 2004, in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Niagara Falls, NY.
He was born December 19, 1927 in Delmont, a son of the late Scott and Mary Susan (Clawson) McKeever.
Mr. McKeever had lived in Niagara Falls since the late 1940s, and was employed by Frontier Foundries as an x-ray technician for 30 years, until his retirement in 1989.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II, as a second class seaman.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #54 of Niagara Falls. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and working on cars.
Mr. McKeever was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Wallace, Clifford, and Bernard McKeever.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doris J. (Lindenberg) McKeever, of Niagara Falls, NY, a son, Donald W. (Deborah) McKeever of West Middlesex, PA, a daughter, Jocelyn M. (and fiance, Jeffery Freeze) McKeever of Niagara Falls, NY. four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
In addition, he is survived by a brother, Robert (Viola McKeever of Hamburg, NY, two sisters, Mae (Duane) Calhoun of Lower Burrell and Betty (Floyd) Kimmel of Vandergrift, and several nieces and nephews.

McKEEVER - Friends welcome on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the CURRAN FUNERAL HOME, 701 Salt Street, Saltsburg, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Dr. Judith A. Campas will officiate. Interment will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Saltsburg.

Antoinette "Nell" Corcetti
Washington Township
Antoinette "Nell" Corcetti, 81, of Washington Township, died Saturday, December 4, 2004, in her home, following a one year illness.
She was born February 18, 1923, in the Brownstown section of Kiski Township, Armstrong County, a daughter of the late Domenico and Madeline (Cicero) Guido.
Mrs. Corcetti lived in Washington Township for the past 35 years. She was a homemaker, and was also employed as a clerk with the Joseph Home's Company in Monroeville for 25 years. She was also a beautician, and retired in 1993.
She was a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Apollo, and was a 1941 graduate of Bell Township High School in Salina.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Corcetti is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joseph R. Corcetti, of Washington Township, two sons, Dr. Robert J. (Kathy) Corcetti of Export, and Ralph (Clare) Corcetti of Oklahoma Boro, five grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
In addition, she is also survived by her sister, Minnie (Albert) Rossman, of Elmhurst, IL, and three brothers, Louis (Angie) Guido, of Hyde Park, Mario (Sally) Guido of Kiski Township, and Father Paul Richard Guido, O.F.M., of New Britain, CT.
MRS. CORCETTI - Friends will be received from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2004, and from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Monday, December 6, 2004, in the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC., 100 Owens View Avenue, Apollo. A Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. in St. James Roman Catholic Church, Apollo. Her pastor, Father John T. Sweeney, and her brother, Father Paul Guido, will concelebrate. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Apollo. Should you desire, the family suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Nell Corcetti Diabetes Fund, c/o S&T Bank, Route 286, Pittsburgh, PA 15239.

Ann (Pyura) Gailus
Vandergrift
Ann (Pyura) Gailus, 87, of Vandergrift, died Tuesday, November 23, 2004, in Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot.
A daughter of the late Stephen and Ann (Fedorka) Pyura, she was born July 9, 1917 in Johnsonburg, PA.
Having lived in Vandergrift most of her life, she was employed by the Kiski Area School District as an elementary school teacher in the East Vandergrift School, retiring in 1979.
She was a parishioner of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, Vandergrift, where she was a member of the Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Gailus was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Michael Gailus, Jr., four brothers, and two sisters.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, John M. Gailus of Vandergrift; a son, Robert J. Gailus of New York, NY; a daughter, Ann (Roy) Michell of Purcellville, VA; and a granddaughter, Marianna Gailus of New York, NY.
MRS. GAILUS - Friends will be received on Friday, November 26, 2004, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the BRADY-CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 429 Franklin Avenue, Vandergrift. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 27, 2004, at 3:30 p.m. in St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, 303 Franklin Avenue, Vandergrift. Father Chad R. Ficorilli will officiate. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.

Anna V. Laero

Anna V. Laero, 100, of Vandergrift, died Wednesday, October 13, 2004, at Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights.
She was born February 21, 1904, in Dunbar, PA, a daughter of the late Antonio and Antoinette (Vernacotola) Petrarca.
Mrs. Laero was a homemaker, and lived in Vandergrift all of her life.
She was a parishioner of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, Vandergrift, where she was a member of the Rosary Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Laero in 1977; a daughter, Louis Mrasz; five brothers: Alfred, Peter, Jospeh, John, and Louis Petrarca; seven sisters: Mary Ferrara, Carmella Tatananni, Rose Scoccimerra, Felicia Trozzi, Lucy Salassa, Amelia Passarelli, and Antoniette Macino.
Mrs. Laero is survived by her son, Frank "Mertz" (Freda) Laero of Oklahoma Borough; and a brother, Paul (Frances) Petrarca of Vandergrift.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
MRS. LAERO - Friends will be received from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2004, in the BRADY-CURRAN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 429 Franklin Avenue, Vandergrift.
