Lewis A. Born on May 8, 1919, in Guilford Township, he was a son of the late Adam and Nellie Ausherman Knepper. He and his wife Mary E. (Stouffer) Knepper were married on May 16, 1940.
He owned and operated a dairy farm in Franklin County, retiring in 1983. He was a member of New Guilford Brethren in Christ Church and was a former Sunday school teacher and Deacon. He was honored by the Franklin County Sunday School Association for his over fifty years of Sunday school service.
In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by four children, Darrel and wife Peggy Knepper of Mont Alto, Marlene Lebo and husband Earl of Mechanicsburg, Joanne (Stoner) Morrette and husband Clair, Doreen Rice and husband Fred, all of Chambersburg; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Abner Knepper of Chambersburg, Dr. Joseph Knepper of Lancaster, one sister, Miriam Stern of Philadelphia, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. in the New Guilford Brethren in Christ Church, 1575 Mt. Alto Road, Chambersburg, by the Rev. S. Lawton Jacobs. Interment will be in New Guilford Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA., and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Kauffman, Gaylord N.
Gaylord N. Born on November 20, 1930 in Fayetteville, he was a son of the late Samuel L. and Margaret Rummel Kauffman.
Gaylord was a graduate of Waynesboro High School. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he retired from Letterkenny Army Depot in 1985, where he had worked as a computer programmer. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church and its King’s Sons and Daughters Sunday School Class, AARP, NARFE, VFW Post 1599; Chambersburg Mall Walkers, and the Golden Opportunity Club. He was also an avid bowler and a member of several bowling leagues. An avid Penn State football fan, he was a proud season ticket-holder.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Retha L. King Kauffman; one daughter, Dr. Linda K. Kauffman Sweeney (and husband, Dennis) of Ames, Iowa; one grandson, Shawn Patrick Sweeney; two brothers, Glenn Kauffman of Waynesboro, and Donald Kauffman of Blue Ridge Summit; and one sister, Treva Walls, of Clymer, Pa., as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 26 in Mt. Pleasant U.B. Church, 2509 Black Gap Rd., Chambersburg, with the Rev. Chris Little and Garry Culler officiating. Interment will follow in Norland Cemetery, with military graveside honors by Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Long, John R.
John R. Born on May 27, 1945 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Guy Bard Long and Arlene Mosel Long, of Penn Hall, Chambersburg.
A 1963 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School, John served with the U.S. National Guard from 1966-72. He was the owner of the former Long Jewelers Inc. in Chambersburg and Waynesboro. He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, member of the Sons of the American Revolution, life member of the Franklin Fire Company, and was serving as president of the Franklin County Rock and Mineral Club Inc.
Aside from his mother he is survived by his wife of 36 years, Christine Vanderau Long; one brother, Richard Guy Long of Smyrna, Delaware; one nephew, Steven E. Long, and one niece, Jennifer E. Long-Love, both of Smyrna; two great nieces and two great nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 3 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Stepler, Theodore L.
Theodore L. “Teddy” Stepler, 74, formerly of 1148 Brandon Drive Chambersburg, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">died on Monday, October 30, 2006 in the Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville. Born on January 5, 1932 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Charles C. and Verna E. McGee Stepler.
A 1950 graduate of Chambersburg High School, Ted served with the U.S. Army, 77th Special Forces Unit, 101st Airborne Division during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from the logistics defense department of Letterkenny Army Depot. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Greencastle, Friendship Engine and Hose Co. #1, life member of Detrich-Brechbill American Legion Post 612, St. Thomas, and life member of the Disabled American Veterans # 78.
He is survived by one sister, Evelyn M. Lydic; one brother, Richard D. (and wife, Margaret L.) Stepler; and one niece, Tonia Poper, all of Chambersburg.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2006 in the chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Dennis Sproull will officiate. Interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery, where members of Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 will conduct military graveside honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Friday.

Sollenberger, Mary Jo

She is survived by her husband, Floyd W. Sollenberger.
Born December 27, 1920 in North Belle Vernon, PA, she was a daughter of the late Joseph D. and Mary Lucille Smith Wampler. She had worked in a dry cleaning shop in Belle Vernon and later for Leiter Brothers of Chambersburg for several years. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Chambersburg, and a former member of the Norland Garden Club.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters; Susanne M. wife of John Flickinger of Millville, NJ; Jane L. wife of Terry Martin of Chambersburg, and eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Jamison, Robert K.
Robert K. Jamison, 92, of 156 Luna Lane, Hendersonville, Tenn., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">died at 6:40 AM, Wednesday, November 1, 2006 in Alive Hospice, Nashville, Tenn. Born August 9, 1914 in Fayetteville, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles and Mary Virginia West Jamison.
Robert was a 1932 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School and went on to attend the former Palmer Business College in Chambersburg and the University of Iowa. He served with the U.S. Army in the Asiatic Pacific Theater of Operations during WWII. Robert was employed by the Army and Air Force Exchange Services for 27 years, and retired as Deputy Director of Audit and Inspection. His beloved wife, Thelma B. He is survived by a daughter, Faye A. (Mrs. John) Thomas of Hendersonville; son-in-law John Thomas; grandson, Keven M. Mackie and wife Val, who reside in Canada; one sister, Gladys Sweeney of Fayetteville; one step grandson, Frank Thomas; step- granddaughters Doreen Strait (husband Donnie Strait), Stephanie Gossert (husband Steve Gossert); nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 4, in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral home.

Quinn, Harold E.
Harold E. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Fairmont (WV) University and a Master’s Degree in Education from George Washington University. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. Harold was employed as an elementary school teacher and principal in Montgomery County, MD, retiring in 1976. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard, Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion, and Knights of Columbus Council 1426, all in Chambersburg. His wife, Anastasia Campbell Quinn, preceded him in Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">death on July 20, 2005.

Washburn, Francis P.
Francis P. Born May 8, 1919 in Brattleboro, VT, he was a son of the late Frank A. and Gertrude Stevens Washburn. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a Communications Specialist for the Defense Communications Agency in Washington DC, and Arlington, VA. He was a US Army Veteran serving in World War II. He was a 32nd degree member of the Concord Lodge # 307 A.F. & A.M., Vienna, VA, and received Knight Commander Court of the Court with Honor with the Scottish Rite Temple, Alexandria, VA. He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Chambersburg.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters: Linda W. and husband Rev. Robert Webster of Browns Mills, NJ, Pamela W. and husband Douglas Roach of Herndon, VA, a son Mark G. Washburn and wife Erica Ehlers of Chester, VA, and six grandchildren. Yurek, Kim Lorraine
Kim Lorraine Yurek, 49, of Greencastle, PA, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">died at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2006 in the emergency room of Chambersburg Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in St. Thomas Township.
Born September 26, 1957 in Dunedin, FL, she was a daughter of the late William and Hellyn Fruchting Corgill. Kim was a 1975 graduate of Southern High School in Annapolis, MD and went on to receive a degree in Early Childhood Education from Towson University in 1979. She taught kindergarten at the Carol Morgan School in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She later taught at the Hampton Lane Child Development Center near Baltimore and was most recently employed at the Fun and Learning Center in Hagerstown, MD. Kim had also served as a substitute teacher in the Tuscarora School District for many years.
She loved children, enjoyed playing pool and bowling, and was an avid football fan. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Chambersburg and sang on the church choir.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Mark F. Yurek, whom she married May 3, 1980; two sons, Brian D. and John W., both at home; two brothers, Todd Corgill of Monterey, CA and Paul Corgill of Charleston, SC.; and a sister, Janet Corgill of Ocean City, MD.
Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 6, in Trinity Episcopal Church, 58 South Second Street, Chambersburg. Father David Robinson will officiate. Interment will be private. Friends will be received from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday in the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kim L. Yurek Memorial College Fund, c/o Orrstown Bank, PO Box 250, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
