Kevin M. Duggan, 65 of 21 Elmwood Drive, the owner of Duggan Associates for 12 years, died Tuesday (11/30) in Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket. He was the husband of Nancy (Hannah) Duggan.

Born in Rockland Mass., he lived in Cumberland for 30 years. Mr. Duggan's company Duggan Associates, recruits employees to work in the computer field. He was previously employed by Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick, N.J. for 12 years, working the New England region.

Mr. Duggaan was a 1951 graduate of Rockland High School and a 1952 graduate of Hunington Prep School for Boys in Weston, Mass., where he received the Francis Ouimet Scholarship in 1952. He graduated from Boston College in 1958.

He was a member of the sons of Irish Kings of Rhode Island and the New England Country Club, Bellingham, Mass., Mr. Duggan was active in the Army Reserves from 1958 to 1964.

Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Lanette M. Duggan of Annapolis, Md., and Colleen A. Manning of North Reading, Mass.; a brother, Dr. John A. Duggan of Worcester, Mass.; a sister, Phyllis Robichaud of Chesterfield, Mo.; and two grandchildren. He was the son of the late John and Helene (McSweeney) Duggan.

Arrangements: The funeral, with military honors, will be held Tuesday, December 21st 1999 at 9:00 PM from J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Route 122, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John Vianney Church, Diamond Hill Road, Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.

Louis R. Gauthier, 82 of Nate Whipple HIghway, Cumberland, RI, a retired electronic technician, died Friday at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Leona (Goyer) Gauthier. They were married for 54 years.
Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Louis and Odina (Pelletier) Gauthier, he lived in Cumberland for 39 years.
Mr. Gauthier was an electronics technician for Raytheon Corp. Mansfield, Mass., for 28 years, retiring in 1982.
An ArmyAir Force veteran of World War II, he served with the Eagle Squadron, the first air group sent to England during the war He was a life member of the Walter Gatchel VFW Post 306, Pawtucket
Mr. Gauthier was a communicant of St. John Vianney Church. He was a member of the Raytheon 25 - Year Club and the Notre Dame Seniors.
Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Elaine M. Lee of North Dighton, Mass. two grandchildren and three great-grand children.

Gracinda Almeida, 88, of 73 Lord Street, died Sunday at home.

Born (9-11-1915) in Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Antonio S. and Clementina (Baptista) Almeida. She was a life long Attleboro resident.

She was a textile worker for the Crown Manufacturing Company, Attleboro for many years until retiring in 1981.

She was a member of the Uniao Benificente, Pawtucket. She was a communicant of St. Theresa Church, Attleboro. She was formerly a member of the Clube Juventude Lusitana, Cumberland.

She leaves one brother, Joseph Almeida of South Attleboro. Several neices and nephews. Sister of the late Alzira Almeida, Joaquim Almeida, and Alfredo S. Almeida.

Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9 A.M. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122 Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in the St. Theresa Church, Attleboro. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.

Francis “Fran” T. Carroll, 86, of 10 Old Diamond Hill Rd., died Friday in Emerald Bay Manor, Cumberland. He was a husband of 58 years to Lucille (Daigle) Carroll.s

Born (2-28-1917) in Millville, MA he was the son of the late George W. and Margaret (Hart) Carroll. He resided in Cumberland for the past 18 years previously living in Woonsocket.

He was the President and Treasurer of the former J. B. Farnum Co., in Woonsocket for many years until his retirement in 1982.

He was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church, Cumberland and formerly a communicant of St. Charles Church, Woonsocket.

Mr. Carroll attended the University of Notre Dame and Providence College. He was an avid golfer, as a member of the Winnesucket Golf Club for many years. And also summered in Misquamicut Beach beginning in the 1930’s.

A WW II U. S. Army veteran he was among the first draftees entering the service as a private and discharged with the rank captain. He spent most of his five years of service in North Africa with the Combat Engineer Unit. Mr. Carroll was a member of the Great Convoy of 850 Transports and Warships that carried out the Invasion of French North Africa. He was cited for leadership in this action in the Harbor of Oran. During his service he was awarded in EAME Theatre Ribbon with two Bronze Service Stars and the Victory Ribbon of WWII.

Besides his wife, he leaves one son, Peter F. Carroll of New York, two daughters, Nancy J. Carroll of Cumberland and Susan J. Foley of Westerly. One sister, Marie O’Brien of Manchester, NH. One grandson, Thomas Carroll Foley of Westerly. He was also the brother of the late Marjorie Bliss, Charles E. Carroll and George W. Carroll Jr.

A funeral with military honors will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church, Mendon Rd., Cumberland. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Blackstone, MA.

Arrangements are under the direction of the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rt. 122, Cumberland.

Marian F. (Massey) Lewis, 63, of 1 Flat Street, died Sunday in the Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Gordon H. Lewis.
Born (5-4-1940) in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Mary (Mulvey) Massey Sr. She was a life long Cumberland resident.

She was a member of the Riverside Village Tenants Association. She was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose of St. Petersburg, Florida. She was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). She was also an active member of the Advisory Council for the Blackstone Valley Community Action Program.

She leaves three daughters, Darleen Carpenter of Cranston, Susan A. Rogers of Cumberland, and Cheryl Laramee of Pascoag. One son Gordon T. Lewis of Cumberland. One brother Harvey Massey Jr. of Cumberland. One sister, Beatrice Codagnone of North Providence. Six grandchildren. Several Neices and Nephews. Sister of the late Earl Massey, Beverly Marcotte, Conrad Massey, and John Massey.

Her funeral will be held Thursday at 11 A.M. in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Mendon Road, Cumberland.

SEMENKOW, PAUL S.

Paul S. Semenkow, 76, of Rhode Island Avenue, died Monday in the Home and Hospice Care Inpatient Unit, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Celesta (Grasso) Semenkow.

Born (8-11-1927) in Brockton, MA he was the son of the late Isidore and Proska (Chawelwonsk) Semenkow. He resided in Cumberland since 1962, previously residing in Brockton, MA.

He was a claim supervisor for the Aetna Life and Casualty Insurance Company, working out of both the Brockton and Providence offices for 15 years, retiring in 1986. He was named the employee of the year for developing the Drive-In Claim System, now a standard in the industry. He was previously employed in the Automobile industry.

He was a World War II, Navy Veteran.

Mr. Semenkow was a communicant of the St. Aidan Church, Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. He was a member of the AARP, the Cumberland Seniors. He was an avid bowler, participating in leagues at Walnut Hill Lanes, Woonsocket.

Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Paul J. Semenkow of North Attleboro, and James A. Semenkow of Lincoln, and a daughter, Debra A. Stowik of Cumberland. Seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild.

Barbara A. Cianfarani, 57, of 15 Ridgewood Road, died Wednesday (1/28/04) in the Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island Inpatient Unit. She was the wife of Ronald Cianfarani.

Born (12-5-1946) in Boston, she was the daughter of the late John and Isabel (Micelli) Carina. She resided in Cumberland for the past 20 years, previously residing in Texas, and California for a number of years.

She was an Administrative Assistant for the Ballou Home for the Aged, Woonsocket, for four years.

Besides her beloved husband, she leaves one son, Gregory Cianfarani of Warwick. Two daughters Rebecca Lambert of Cumberland, and Jennifer D'Arezzo of Coventry. Two sisters, Elaine Haskell of Taunton and Robin Legendre of Attleboro. Six grandchildren, Olivia D'Arezzo, Jacob D'Arezzo, Justin D'Arezzo all of Coventry, Alexandra Cianfarani, and Lindsay Cianfarani both of Warwick, and Cora Lambert of Cumberland.

Michael E. Crocker, 49, of 24 Goddard Street, died Wednesday in the Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket. He was the husband of Anne (Scullin) Crocker.

Born (3-30-1954) in Providence, he was the son of the late Arthur and Margaret (Chadwick) Crocker II. He was a life long Cumberland resident.

He was a general manager for the Cohn Heating Supply of Providence for the past 12 years.

He was a communicant of St. Patrick Church, Broad Street, Cumberland.

Besides his beloved wife he leaves two sons, Michael E. Crocker Jr. of Lincoln, and Danuel P. Crocker at home in Cumberland. Two daughters, Kristen M. Crocker of North Providence, and Sara A. Crocker at home in Cumberland. Two brothers, Joseph Crocker of Cumberland, and Arthur I Crocker III of Pawtucket. Verna O. Pytka, 75, of2386Diamond Hill Rd. died Sunday in the Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of Julian Pytka.

Born ( 2-28-27 ) in Foster she was the daughter of the late George and Maude (Gladwin) Merow. She resided in Cumberland for the past 50years.

Besides her husband she leaves a daughter, Sandra Morin and two sons, George and Wayne Pytka all of Cumberland . Eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rt. 122, Cumberland . Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Seekonk Cemetery , Seekonk.

Russell R. Herrick
Russell R. Herrick, 86, of Mendon Ave., Pawtucket died Saturday in the St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. He was the husband of Elsie (Dollette) Herrick.

Born (12-5-17) in Willimantic, CT he was a son of the late Raymond and Etoila (Chasse) Herrick. He resided in Pawtucket for the past 50 years.

He was employed by the Northrup Corp., Norwood, MA for 18 years retiring in 1980. He was previously employed by the Raytheon Corp., Framingham.

He was a WW II, U. S. Army veteran.

Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Carol Atchison of Pawtucket and Joy Hall of Plymouth, CT. Two grandchildren, William S. Hall of Burlington, CT and Amber-Dawn Hall of Plymouth, CT, six great grandchildren.

Mr. Herrick's funeral and burial will be private.

She was a graduate of Cumberland High School and Community College of Rhode Island.

Besides her mother she leaves a brother, Kenneth A. Nordby of Woosocket. Two sisters, Darlene M. Lachance of Cumberland and Dawn M. Nordby-Gaulin of Woonsocket. Five nephews and two nieces.
