MR. RICHARD BEARD
MR. BEARD - Funeral services for MR. RICHARD BEARD will be held Saturday, June 30, 2001, at 2:30 p.m. at First Christian Church, Jackson, with Rev. William E. Sexton officiating. Pallbearers will be Clarence Beard, Jim Mumford, Ricky Smith, Randy Brinkley, Charles King, and Otis Beard. Interment will follow in Jackson Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 12 noon until the time of the service. Memorial donations may be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund, 201 3rd St., Jackson, S.C., 29841. George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave. SW, Aiken, is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Beard, 79, of Jackson, died Tuesday at National Health Care in North Augusta. The son of the late John A. and Rosa (Heath) Beard, he was born in Old Ellenton and moved to Jackson in 1950. He served in the US Army Air Corps in WW II and was a member of First Christian Church, Jackson. He retired in 1987 as a shipping manager for CSRA Bonding Co., Augusta. He is predeceased by his wife Corine Beard, who died just over one year ago. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Moore, Dalzell, S.C. and Mrs. Jeanette Russell, Martinez, GA.; two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Carter, Augusta, GA and Mrs. Nettie Muns, Thomson, GA; five grandchildren, Edith Marie Moore, Renee Frost, Vicky Ramirez, Robin Fogle and Sandra Hentges; and two great grandchildren, Alex Russell and Nick Fogle. MR. FELDER D. JACKSON
MR. JACKSON - The funeral service for MR. FELDER D. JACKSON will be conducted today, Friday at 4 pm in the chapel at Napier Funeral Home in Graniteville with Rev. Steve English and Rev. RACHEL KAIYA BLACK

Rachel, 11, of Fern Avenue, New Ellenton, beloved daughter of Joe Black and Luann Lindell of New Ellenton, died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at MCG Children's Medical Center. Additional survivors include her stepfather, Chris Lindell, a half brother, Caleb Lindell, paternal grandparents, John R. and June G. Black, all of New Ellenton, maternal grandparents, Clifford and Carol Kelly, Lindsay, OK, and step-grandparents, Dick and Fay Lindell, Williston. MR. DAY - Died June 28, 2001, at his residence. MR. WILLIAM ALEX "JACK'' DAY, 74, of 1555 Wire Road, Aiken, SC 29801. Mr. Day is survived by his loving wife Betty Day. Other survivors include three daughters, Pearline D. Smith, Aiken, Iris Susie Rushton, Ridge Spring, Sally Bledsoe, Lakeland, FL, and 2 sons, Luther Eddie Day, Hardeeville, SC, and George William Day, Perry, SC, and 12 grandchildren, Michael Rushton, Kim Meeler, Tamie Rushton, Hope Meeler, Melissa Bledsoe, William Bledsoe, Whitney Bledsoe, George William Day, Christy Day, Ashley Day, Johnny Day, and Christian Day, and 2 sisters, Ellen Day and Abie Funderburg, both of Aiken. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 am in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Swink officiating. Interment will follow at the Southlawn Cemetery. MR. ARTILLUS GEORGE "BUD'' TEMPLETON
MR. TEMPLETON - A memorial service for MR. ARTILLUS GEORGE "BUD'' TEMPLETON will be held Saturday, June 30 at 6 pm at First Christian Church, Aiken, with Revs. Dan and Melanie Barton officiating. Arrangements are by South Carolina Cremation and Memorial Society. Mr. Templeton, 79, of Aiken, died Wednesday at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. He was born in Galesburg, IL and had lived in Sioux City, Iowa before moving to Aiken 15 years ago. He served in the US Navy during WW II and was a member of First Christian Church in Knoxville, IL. He was a 32 degree mason and a past master of the Pacific Lodge of Knoxville, a member of the Scottish Rite of Peoria, IL, a past patron of the Knoxville Order of the Eastern Star, a member of Jamil Temple, Columbia, SC, the Aiken Shrine Club and the Potentates Guard. He was also a "Rainbow Dad'' with the International Order of the Rainbow, No. 46, Galesburg, IL. He was a retired brick manufacturer having worked for the former Purington Brick Co., Galesburg, IL. He is predeceased by his parents, William and Leota (Young) Templeton; a sister, Beatrice Hughes and his longtime faithful Scottish Terrier, Clywd. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Dorothy (Morton) Templeton, Aiken, and a daughter, Kathy Dees, Aiken. Memorial donations in his memory may be directed to Alzheimer's research or the Shriners Children's Hospital. The family also suggests planting a tree in his memory. David S. Barton
WAGENER - David Samuel Barton, of Wagener and formerly of Graniteville, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Napier Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gene Wilson officiating. Burial will be private.
A native of Graniteville, Mr. Barton was a son of the late John E. and Annie Napier Barton. He lived in Aiken County all of his life. He was retired from the Graniteville Co. with 44 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertie Garrick Barton.
Survivors include one son, David L. "Brother'' Barton of Columbia; a loving friend, Jo Averitt of Wagener; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Jimmy W. Gantt Sr.
Jimmy Wade Gantt Sr., 66, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2002.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Blackville First Baptist Church. Burial with military honors will be in Blackville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.. today at the funeral home.

Nelson E. Hatcher
Funeral services for Nelson Edward Hatcher will be held Sunday afternoon, time to be announced, at George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave. SW. Interment will follow at First Baptist Church of Windsor Cemetery.
Visitation will be this evening from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will otherwise receive friends at the Hatcher residence, 1742 Carolina Dr., Aiken.
Mr. Hatcher, 62, of Johnston, died Friday at his residence. He was born in Windsor and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, prior to moving to Johnston five months ago. He was a retired parts salesman for Cravens in North Augusta and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Windsor. He was an avid NASCAR fan and had actually driven in several races.
He is survived by his son, Travis Hatcher, Simpsonville, and his former wife, Fay Hatcher, Aiken.
Memorial donations may be directed to First Baptist Church of Windsor Building Fund or Mt. Beulah Baptist Church Building Fund.

Jule Tindall
Graveside services for Jule Tindall will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Redds Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jamie Rogers officiating.
Mr. Jule Tindall, 68, husband of Jelina H. Tindall, of Aiken, died Friday, Sept. 27 at Laurel Baye/Blackville Nursing Home.
He was the son of the late John D. and Lubelle Tindall. He was a native of Wagener, and a member of Redds Branch Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; son, Blane Tindall, Aiken; daughters, Jennifer Hardin and Julett Tindall, both of Aiken; brother L. H. Tindall, Swansea; Rosa Lee Erwin, Columbia; and five grandchildren.
The family wishes that memorials be made to Redds Branch Baptist Church 390 Redds Branch Rd., Aiken 29801.

BAILEY - EDWARD BAILEY, 69, of 563 Coker Springs Rd., Aiken, SC, beloved husband of Dela R. McKenzie Bailey, died Friday, June 22, 2001 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Bailey was born May 25, 1932 in Johnson City, TN to Frates and Alice Burnette Bailey. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Ph.D. in physical chemistry. He was a retired physicist with Westinghouse Savannah River Site. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Mark Bailey, Prince Frederick, MD; two daughters, Susan Bailey, Dallas, TX, and Lynn Klett, Knoxville, TN; a sister, Ruth Miller, Johnson City, TN; and three grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Livingston, Aiken; a son, H. Wayne Thompson, Jr., Portland, OR.; two grandchildren and one great-grandson. MR. JOHN LOYAL ARTHUR, SR.
ARTHUR Entered into rest Friday, August 31, 2001, MR. JOHN LOYAL ARTHUR, SR. of Warrenville, S.C., husband of the late Bernice Turner Arthur and son of the late John T. and Ida Mamie Johnson Arthur and father of Rev. John L. Arthur, Jr., Eureka, S.C. and Mary Packer, Warrenville, S.C. He is survived by a sister, Ethel A. Eubanks, Graniteville, S.C., also two grandsons, C. Douglas Payne, and John Arthur Payne. Mr. Arthur was born in Windsor, S.C. and was retired from the South Carolina Electric & Gas Company after forty four years of service. He was a member of Graniteville First Baptist Church and was a Navy veteran obtaining the rank of First Class Petty Officer, having served during WWII. The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at 4:30 P.M. in the Graniteville First Baptist Church with Rev. Steven L. Hendricks and Rev. Tommy Knotts officiating. The interment will follow in the Graniteville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenny Arthur, Clyde Harkins, Charles Hilton, Wayne Hilton, Shotte Widener, and Cyrus Spradley.
