KANTNER A memorial service for MRS. VIRGINIA "GINGER" McGUIRE KANTNER will be held Friday, September 7, 2001 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Rivers Funeral Home. Mrs. Kantner, 62, of 1422 Alpine Dr., Aiken, SC, beloved wife of David R.
Kantner, died Friday, August 31, 2001 at her residence. She was born October 15, 1938 in Washington, DC to Joseph and Emma Dodson McGuire. Mrs. Kantner was a homemaker and had lived in Aiken since 1968, moving from Anaheim, CA. Survivors,
in addition to her husband, include a son, David Mitchell Kantner, Aiken; a daughter, Stacy Kantner-Mancuso, San Dimas, CA; a brother, Leo V. Brown, Corona, CA; a sister, Barbara L. O'Kelley, Commerce, GA; and five grandchildren, D. Alex Kantner, Aiken, Anthony D., Christopher E., Steven J. and Michelle Lorraine E. Mancuso, all of San Dimas, CA. MR. JAMES F. EMENEKER
EMENEKER Died Sept. 1, 2001 at University Hospital. MR. JAMES F. EMENEKER, 70, of Aiken, SC. Beloved brother of Katherine Hendrix, Louise Widener, Florence Busbee, Aiken and Myrtle Ford, North Augusta. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, Sept. 4 graveside Aiken Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Powell officiating. Memorials may be directed to Solid Rock Baptist Church, 3079 Old Powder House Rd., Aiken, SC 29803 or Aiken Cancer Society, P.O. Box K, Aiken, SC 29802. ELLEN KNIGHT THOMPSON
ELLEN KNIGHT THOMPSON, formerly of Aiken, died at her home in Greensboro, North Carolina on August 31, 2001 following a lengthy illness. She is survived by her husband Dick of the home; their son Rick, his wife Lisa, their children
Evan and Emily of Orlando; and their son Craig and his wife Jennifer of Atlanta. Ellen is survived by a large and loving family originally from Aiken including her brothers Bobby, Bill, Benny, and Francis Knight and sisters Kitty Holland and Ann McGee who were special friends, her many nieces and nephews, in particular, niece Cathy Holland who was like a sister. Other loved survivors include her father-in-law Joe Thompson, Ed, Ann, Joe, Susan and Bill. In Greensboro, Ellen will be remembered for her efforts with the Red Cross blood drive, Charity League, Special Olympics, and volunteer service in the schools as well as her fund raising efforts for many of the charities that strengthen that area. She will be remembered most however, as a much loved mother, nana, sister, aunt, and her husband's sweetheart and best friend since they were children in Aiken. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the Shellhouse Funeral Home in Aiken. Ellen is to be buried with graveside services at Bethany Cemetery on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. SHELLHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, 924 HAYNE AVE., AIKEN, SC 642-3456.

David S. Barton
WAGENER - David Samuel Barton, of Wagener and formerly of Graniteville, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Napier Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gene Wilson officiating. Burial will be private.
A native of Graniteville, Mr. Barton was a son of the late John E. and Annie Napier Barton. He lived in Aiken County all of his life. He was retired from the Graniteville Co. with 44 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertie Garrick Barton.
Survivors include one son, David L. "Brother" Barton of Columbia; a loving friend, Jo Averitt of Wagener; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Jimmy W. Gantt Sr.
Jimmy Wade Gantt Sr., 66, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2002.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Blackville First Baptist Church. Burial with military honors will be in Blackville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.. today at the funeral home.

Nelson E. Hatcher
Funeral services for Nelson Edward Hatcher will be held Sunday afternoon, time to be announced, at George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave. SW. Interment will follow at First Baptist Church of Windsor Cemetery.
Visitation will be this evening from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will otherwise receive friends at the Hatcher residence, 1742 Carolina Dr., Aiken.
Mr. Hatcher, 62, of Johnston, died Friday at his residence. He was born in Windsor and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, prior to moving to Johnston five months ago. He was a retired parts salesman for Cravens in North Augusta and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Windsor. He was an avid NASCAR fan and had actually driven in several races.
He is survived by his son, Travis Hatcher, Simpsonville, and his former wife, Fay Hatcher, Aiken.
Memorial donations may be directed to First Baptist Church of Windsor Building Fund or Mt. Beulah Baptist Church Building Fund.

SPARTANBURG - James Daniel Thomas III, 33, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002.
Graveside services will beheld at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Crawford Cemetery, with the Rev. Blaney Pridgen officiating.

Jule Tindall
Graveside services for Jule Tindall will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Redds Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jamie Rogers officiating.
Mr. Jule Tindall, 68, husband of Jelina H. Tindall, of Aiken, died Friday, Sept. 27 at Laurel Baye/Blackville Nursing Home.
He was the son of the late John D. and Lubelle Tindall. He was a native of Wagener, and a member of Redds Branch Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; son, Blane Tindall, Aiken; daughters, Jennifer Hardin and Julett Tindall, both of Aiken; brother L. H. Tindall, Swansea; Rosa Lee Erwin, Columbia; and five grandchildren.

MR. JOHN C. WINTER
WINTER - Entered into rest Saturday, February 16, 2002, MR. JOHN C. WINTER, age 79, of North Augusta, S.C., beloved husband of Louise Williams Winter and son of the late Charles C. and Margaret D. Winter. In addition to his wife, he is survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Winter was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and attended the Christian Science Church. MRS. JOSEPHINE "JO" WALTON
WALTON - A memorial service for MRS. JOSEPHINE "JO" WALTON will be held Thursday evening at 6:30 pm at George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken with Mrs. Mary Steel officiating. Memorial donations may be directed to Hitchcock Hospice 690 Medical Park Dr. Aiken, SC 29801. Josephine Walton, 84, of Aiken, went to be with the Lord on July 1, 2001. She was born May 7, 1917.
The daughter of the late Peter and Elisa Ilardi, she and her husband moved to Aiken from Wantagh (Long Island) New York in 1979. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist, Aiken. She was active in many local clubs and organizations including Newcomers, Town and Country, Gourmet Couples, Choral Society and many other organizations. Her husband, Chet Walton, preceded her in death in 1997.
Jo will be greatly missed by her sons, George W. Walton (and wife Jan) of Delton, Michigan and Richard A. Walton of Orlando, Florida; two grandsons, William C. Walton USMC San Diego, CA and George A. Walton of Delton, Michigan; one sister, Bianca Alchesky of Aiken; one brother, Vincent Ilardi (wife Rossetta) of Lake George, NY and many nieces and nephews. MR. WILLIAM H. "PETE" JENKINS
JENKINS - Funeral services for MR. WILLIAM H. "PETE'' JENKINS will be held Thursday, July 5, 2001 at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Montmorenci. Mr. Jenkins, 89, of Toolebeck Rd., Aiken, SC, husband of the late Bernice Johnson Jenkins, died Monday, July 2, 2001 at his residence. He was a native of Union County, SC and a son of the late William Richard and Elizabeth Harris Jenkins. He retired from SC Department of Transportation and was a member of Montmorenci First Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Brent Jenkins, Sumter, SC; daughter, Charlotte Patnode, Southern Pines, NC; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Trey Martin, Calvin Beck, Blenn Martin, Robbie Martin, Jimmy Boothe, Bruce Wingate and Jerry Love. Memorials may be made to the church. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Wednesday at RIVERS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 715 EAST PINE LOG RD., AIKEN, SC.

MR. GLENN RALPH BAGWELL
MR. BAGWELL - MR. GLENN RALPH BAGWELL, 76, of Spartanburg died Tuesday, February 12, 2002 in the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A life long resident of Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Frank and Lyda Bishop Bagwell. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service of Spartanburg as a mail carrier for 38 years retiring in 1992 and was a member of the Arkwright Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Ruth Bagwell. Surviving are one brother and sister-in-law, Melvin F. and Barbara Zimmerman Bagwell of Aiken, SC. One nephew, Stephen Bagwell and wife, Tracie of Greenwood, SC. Two nieces, Debbie Bagwell Bauer and husband, Tom of Columbia and Laura Bagwell of Roebuck. One great-nephew, Stephen Andrew Bagwell and one great-niece, Shelby Viriginia Bagwell. Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 14, at 2:00 p.m. at the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Robert C. Morgan. Yarbrough Weeks and daughter of the late Peniel Collins and the late Lillian Jones Collins. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, W. Wallace Weeks, Warrenville, S.C.; a daughter, Maria E. Weeks, Martinez, Ga.; a sister, Joyce C. Napier, Warrenville, S.C. and nephews and their spouses: Robert and Penny Duncan, their children, Seth and Brook Duncan, Ronnie and Evie Duncan and their children, Kristen Duncan and Keri Biddle. Mrs. Weeks was born in Aiken County, S.C. and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County. She was a retired secretary with Graniteville Company. She was a member of Warrenville First Baptist Church, a member of the Fidelity Sunday School Class and the choir. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, February 16, 2002 at 2:00 PM in the Warrenville First Baptist Church, Warrenville, S.C. with Rev. Arthur Zawislak, Rev. Finley Sizemore and Rev. Robert Jackson officiating. The interment will follow in the Warrenville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Steve Cartin, Jerry Carter, Ray Clark, Danny Stewart, Chip Bryant, Cary Stevens and Robert Duncan. The family will receive friends at the residence of Joyce Napier at 360 Augusta Rd., Warrenville, S.C. or at the Funeral Home tonight, Friday, February 15 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The family stated that she was a wonderful mother, a dearly beloved wife and sister, a grandmother to many and a friend to all. Mrs. Weeks will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Randall of Silver Spring, Maryland, a sister, Marian R. Bussey of Graniteville and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rebman was born in Graniteville, S.C. and was a lifetime resident. She was a retired Elementary School Teacher. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and was very actively involved with the youth programs. She was also a member of the Women of The Evangelical Lutheran Church In America. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, September 2, 2001 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home, Graniteville, S.C. with Rev. Barry T. Antley officiating.
