James "Pete'' Redd,

LANGLEY - James "Pete'' Redd died Friday, June 22, 2001.
Mr. Redd formerly resided on Carline Road.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at Hatcher Funeral Home, Langley. The Rev. Bob Still will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Mr. Redd was retired from United Merchants & Manufacturers.
He was a member of the Madine Printers & Engravers Association.
He was married to the late Virginia Alford Redd.
Survivors include three sons, Sammy Redd and James Redd Jr., both of Burnettown, and Charles Timothy Redd, Augusta; a step-son, Johnny Brewer, Augusta; two step-daughters, Maxine Kent, Gloverville,
and Cammie McIntosh, Burnettown; a brother, Ray Redd, North Augusta; two sisters, Bertie Mitchell, Johnstown, and Lavenda Smith, Montgomery, Ala.; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mike Shaw, Eugene Shaw, John Smith, Kenny Smith, Ray Redd Jr. and Mike Redd.
Friends may call at the residence of his son, Sammy Redd, 126 Jerry Road, Burnettown, or from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bennett Smith,
Owens-Corning retiree
CLEARWATER - Bennett Smith died Saturday, June 23, 2001.
Mr. Smith resided at 24 Church St.
Funeral mass will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Father John Lawlor will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.
The Holy Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Hatcher Funeral Home, Langley.
Mr. Smith was a native of Aiken County. He was retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglas Co.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Vickers Smith; two sons, Bennett Smith Jr., Graniteville, and Wade C. Smith, Augusta; two step-sons, Jimmie Bowden, Grovetown, Ga., and Mackie Bowden, Atlanta; a sister, Edna Smith, Graniteville; seven grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Keith Smith, Dannie Miller, Fred Ennis, Benjamin Ennis, Jason Fields and Mackie Bowden.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904.
Friends may call following the Holy Rosary recital Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

J.Z. Addie
GLOVERVILLE - J.Z. "Billy'' Addie, 78, of Pine Street, Gloverville, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Gloverville, with the Rev. Joe Youngblood officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. The remains will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
A native of Saluda, Mr. Addie was a son of Will Washington and Kattie Bartley Addie. He was the former owner of Addie's Fuel Oil Co., Septic Tank Co. and S&S Truck Stop. He attended the First Baptist Church of Gloverville.
He was the husband of the late Margaret Hicks Addie.
Survivors include his first wife, Regina Warren of North Augusta; four daughters, Johnnie Faye Parker of Dallas, Billie Jean Nobles of Langley, Mae Will Bledsoe of Belvedere and Rona Joe Stephens of North Augusta; three sisters, Myrtle Addie Watkins of Gloverville, Peggy Addie Sanders of Burnettown and Mary E. Cosnahan of North Augusta; brother, Hubert Addie of Gloverville; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Pallbearer will be Bobby Durden, Lad Baker, Wayne Hadden, Jessie Spradley, Henry Lucas Jr. and G.C. Williams. Friends may call at the residence or from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Furman L. Baker, of Lady Bug Drive, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002.

David Chandler
NORTH AUGUSTA - David Lewis Chandler, of 517 Calbrieth Way, North Augusta, died Friday, Aug. 2, 2002.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today in Pineview Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Heyward Horton officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Parsons Chandler; two daughters, Kim Burdette and Beth Seigler; three brothers, Michael D. Chandler, Kermit L. Chandler and Thomas B. Chandler; and three grandchildren.

Mildred Dicks
WILLISTON - Mildred Dicks, 67, of 1024 Elko St., Williston, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at University Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church, with the Revs. A.C. Settles and Beverly Ashley officiating. Burial will be in Hope Memorial Garden, Barnwell.
Survivors include three sons, George C. (Betty Cannon) Barrett Jr., James Bradley and Thomas Bradley, all of Williston; one brother, Sidney (Louise) Dicks of Aiken; one sister, Margie Dicks of Williston; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Steve Doyle
Steve Doyle, 36, of 611 Hampton Ave., Aiken, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Jackson-Brooks Memorial Chapel.
A native and life-long resident of Aiken, Mr. Doyle was a son of Carrie Doyle of Aiken. He was a professional car detailer at A.F.C. Auto Sales in Aiken. Survivors include his mother; one sister, Rena Bey of New Bedford, Mass.; four brothers, Johnny Stroman of Wagener, Lannie Stroman of Bennettsville and Eric Doyle and Paul Doyle, both of Aiken; and god-brother, James "Mookie'' Murdaugh of Aiken. Friends may call at the residence of his mother, 619 Richland Ave., Aiken, or beginning at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

NEW HOLLAND - Mary Ann Bright Franklin, 83, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at New Holland Baptist Church, with the Rev. Owen McAlister officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Ray Franklin.

Matthew C. Herrick, 23, of 1011 Kerr Drive, Aiken, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

He was a son of Rita Herrick.

Mrs. Mills, 84, of Aiken, died Saturday morning, Aug. 3, 2002, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002 from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Surviving are sons, Robert J. Mills, Ivoryton, CT, John F. Mills, Portsmouth, RI, and Gary L. Mills, Aiken; daughter, Jacqueline Mills, Milledgeville, GA; brother, Larry Ould, Lake Placid, FL; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carey Lester Mitchell.

Ida E. Nipper
Ida Elizabeth Nipper, 52, of 1512 Hampton Ave., Aiken, died Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

A native and life-long resident of Aiken, Mrs. Nipper was a member of the Valley Fair Baptist Church in Graniteville, where she was vice president of the senior choir, member of the Ronald Coleman Gospel Choir, Sunday school teacher and an active church member. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Wilbert Nipper; two sons, Troy Nipper and Dejuan Nipper, both of Aiken; two sisters, Frankie Dunn of Augusta and Alberta Walker of Jersey City, N.J.; one brother, William Hall Sr. of Graniteville; and two grandchildren.

Dietrich Gaston Bellido, 75, of 117 Colleton Ave., Aiken, died Friday, May 31, 2002, at University Hospital.

The mass of Christian burial with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Bethany Cemetery.
Mr. Bellido was retired Army. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Clark Bellido; one daughter, Edith Bellido Martinez of Fairbanks, Alaska; one son, George Gaston Bellido of Windsor; one sister, Edith Bellido de Tapia of Lima, Peru; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
