WAGENER - Funeral arrangements for Leatha Jeffcoat Burgess Williams will be announced by J. H. Robinson Funeral Home, Wagener.
Mrs. Williams, of 217 Railroad Ave., West, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Peggy Combs Addley
Peggy Combs Addley died Saturday, April 14, 2001, at Mattie C. Hall Health Care Center.
Mrs. Addley, 69, resided at 222 Hill Ave.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Russell County Funeral Home, Lebanon, Va. Interment will be in the Combs Family Cemetery, Finney, Va.
A native of Wilder, Va., Mrs. Addley was a daughter of Henry Forrest and Rittie Thompson Combs.
Surviving are her widower, Lawrence E. Addley; three sons, Jason Jasmin and Ray Jasmin, both of Aiken, and Jeff Jasmin, Trenton; four daughters, Donna Pate and Mitze Negley, both of Windsor, and Phyllis Settembro, Agawam, Mass.; a brother, Roger Combs, Clinchfield, Va.; two sisters, Doris McGoldrick, Rutledge, Tenn., and Ann Musick, Bristol, Va.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hitchcock Hospice, 690 Medical Park Drive, Aiken, S.C. 29801.

Isaiah G. Blocker, electrician
JOHNSTON - Isaiah G. Blocker died Saturday, April 14, 2001, at the Medical College of Georgia.
Mr. Blocker, 52, resided on Lanier Road.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist church, Johnston. The Rev. Ernest Gordon will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A native of Edgefield County, Mr. Blocker was a son of Ruth G. Anthony. He was an electrician.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Surviving along with his mother are his widow, Floria Hammond Blocker; three sons, Lattice Blocker, Rakema Isaiah Blocker and Anthony M. Blocker; two daughters, Diane M. Blocker and Cherry Blocker; a sister, Ruby M. Wright; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be W. E. Parker High School's class of 1969.
Amos and Sons Funeral Home, Johnston, is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Lillian Cooper
BELVEDERE - Mary Lillian Cooper, 89, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at University Hospital, Augusta.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Belvedere First Baptist Church. The Revs. John Meyer and Tommy Knotts will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Graniteville.
Ms. Cooper was a native of Newberry. She was a member of Belvedere First Baptist Church. She was also a former member of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are a nephew, Randy Stanley, Belvedere; and two great-nephews, Jeremy Stanley and Connor Stanley, both of Belvedere.

Norton Jack Gaites, Du Pont Co. retiree
Norton Jack Gaites died Tuesday, April 10, 2001.
Mr. Gaites, 76, resided in Aiken.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Aiken Memorial Gardens. The Rev. C. W. Koons will officiate.
Friends may call from 12:30 - 1:15 p.m. today at George Funeral Homes, Downtown.
A native of Columbia, Mr. Gaites was a son of the late Beverly Ira and Annie Olivia Lucas Gaites. He was retired from the Du Pont Co.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served as Gen. George Patton's personal aide during World War II.
He was the widower of Virginia Gaites.
Surviving is a son, Norton Jack Gaites II; a daughter, Tondra Gaites Robinson; a brother, Norwood Gaites; two sisters, Miriam Ford and Doris Hyman; and two grandchildren.

Raymond Holloway
TRENTON - Raymond Holloway died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at University Hospital, Augusta.
Mr. Holloway resided at 288 Miles-Ashley Road.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Old Macedonia Baptist Church. The Rev. Limuer Myers will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at 2:15 p.m. today at the residence or one hour prior to the service today at the church.

Mary Early Key
NORTH AUGUSTA - Mary Early Key died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at Jennings Health Care, Inc., Augusta.
Mrs. Key formerly resided at 1721 Old Edgefield Road.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Second Providence Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Albert James will officiate.

Lonnie Krell, Du Pont Co. retiree
NORTH AUGUSTA - Lonnie Krell, 70, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at his residence on Stevens Creek Road.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Summerville Cemetery, Augusta. The Revs. Dr. Jackie Perkins and Terry Jackson will officiate.
Mr. Krell was a native of Newberry. He was a retired project engineer with the Du Pont Co.
He retired from the U.S. Army after having served four years. He then went into the Seabees Navy, in which he served 39 years.
He attended Dayspring Baptist Church. He was involved with the restoration project of the Sacred Heart Cultural Center. He also served on the board of directors of the Ruritan, Flag Pond, Tenn.
Surviving are his widow, Beverly Bassford Krell; two step-sons, Russell Blanchard III and Leonard Blanchard, both of Orangeburg; two daughters, Cindy Krell, Augusta and Linda Jane McCall, North Augusta; two step-daughters, Cecilia L. Long, Augusta, and Carol Smith, North Augusta; four brothers, George Krell, Washington, Ill., John Krell, Flag Pond, James Krell, Morristown, Tenn., and Larry Krell, Johnson City, Tenn.; three sisters, Leona Bayne and Alice Harrell, both of Jonesborough, Tenn., and Mary Brown, Johnson City; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to Dayspring Baptist Church's T-Kay Ministries, 4420 Frontage Road, Augusta, GA 30909.

Robert Irland Newman
Robert Irland Newman, 79, died Monday, April 16, 2001, at Fripp Island.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a. m. Thursday at the Fripp Island Chapel.
Mr. Newman was a native of Jacksonville, Ill. He was employed by Allied Chemical Corp. and Allied General Nuclear Services from 1943 to 1979. He was vice president and project director and vice president for environmental affairs.
He headed Allied-General's $250 million nuclear fuel reprocessing operations at Barnwell before it was abandoned. During construction of the Barnwell reprocessing plant Newman made his home in Barnwell.
He also served as chairman of the American Standards Institute's Nuclear Standards Management Board.
While living in Barnwell, he was chairman of the Barnwell County Water and Sewer Authority and was an elder of the Barnwell Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Philpot Newman; sons, Robert I. Jr. of Leesburg, Va., and William Jefferson Newman of Evans, Ga.; a daughter, Katharine Louise Newman of Monroe, Ga., a brother, William Newman III of Stratford, Conn.; and one granddaughter.
Memorials may be made tothe Friends of Carolina Hospice in Beaufort.
The Island Funeral Home, Hilton Head, is in charge of arrangements.

Halcyone Thorpe Pence
WILLISTON - Halcyone Thorpe Pence died Sunday, April 15, 2001.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Folk Funeral Home, Williston.
Graveside services will be held at noon Thursday at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery, Atlanta.
A native of Asheville, N.C. Mrs. Pence was a daughter of the late Clifford Armand and Rhea Reynolds Thorpe. She was a homemaker.
She attended the University of Georgia, where she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and the Young Matrons of Tallulah Falls, Atlanta.
She was a member of the Williston United Methodist Church.
She was the widow of James Merlin Pence.
Surviving are a son, James Merlin Pence Jr., Marietta, Ga.; a daughter, Gale Pence Kulmala, Williston; a brother, Clifford A. Thorpe Jr., Reston, Va.; and six grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Williston Town Library, P.O. Box 482, Williston, S.C. 29853 or to the Williston Rescue Squad, P.O. Box, 151, or to the United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 401, Williston, S.C. 29853.

Marion Tompkins
Marion Tompkins died Monday, April 16, 2001, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Mrs. Tompkins, 86, resided at 114 Dunbarton Circle.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Rivers Funeral Home.
Surviving is her widower, Harold Tompkins.

Mimie Frazier Turner
GRANITEVILLE - Mimie Frazier Turner died Saturday, April 14, 2001.
Mrs. Turner resided at 162 Gregg St. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Valley Fair Baptist Church. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.
She was the widow of James Turner.
Friends may call form 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Hatcher Funeral Home, Langley.

Cyril A. Asbill, Bell South retiree
Cyril A. Asbill died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Mr. Asbill, 73, resided at 323 Laurens St.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Baptist Church. The Revs. Jim Holston, Jimmy McAdams and Tommy Knotts will officiate. Entombment will be private at Bethany Cemetery. A native of Monetta, Mr. Asbill was a son of the late Cyril and Ruby Lybrand Asbill. He was retired from Bell South.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She was a charter member of the Alston Wilkes Society, Connie Maxwell Children's Home, Manpower Board, Masonic Lodge No. 134 and the Telephone Pioneers. Surviving are his widow, Helen Frances Sage Asbill; two daughters, Helen Frances Weimortz, Irmo, and Pamela Jean Parker, Simpsonville; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Lee Connelly, Brian Miller, Mike Grandy, Broadus Williamson, Ken Clark, Keith Herrington, Jimmy Cushman and Pete Sampson. Honorary pallbearers will be active and inactive deacons and Sunday school members of Memorial Baptist Church, Pioneer members, Bo Cato, William Bryant, Wallace Kitchens, Sidney Hartley and Willie Bryant.

GARDEN CITY, Ga. - Graveside services for Annie Lou Axson Hodges will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Norway Cemetery, Norway.
