Rev. Charles H. Still
Funeral services for the Rev. Charles Hensley Still will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Redds Branch Baptist Church, Aiken, with the Revs. Brad Willis and Jimmy Sanders officiating.
Pallbearers for the service will be Charles Baxley, Vince Richardson, Reggie Baxley, William Whaley, W.L. Whaley, Cory McMurtrie, Mark Baxley and Brookie Anderson.
Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Kedron Baptist Church, members of the Aiken and Edisto Baptist Association and Vincent Richardson and Terry Pinto.
The Rev. Still will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Burial will follow in Redds Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6-9 p.m. at George Funeral Homes, historic downtown chapel.
The Rev. Still, 80, of Aiken, husband of Irene Jones Still, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Thursday night, Aug. 7, 2003.
Born in Barnwell County, he was the son of the late Arthur B. and Della Croft Still. He was a graduate of Temple University, Southeastern Seminary and he received his master's in theology from Luther Rice Seminary.
The Rev. Still pastored at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church, Redds Branch Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of St. Andrews, First Baptist Church of Tillman and Kedron Baptist Church.
Being very active in the Baptist Church, the Rev. Still had been active on many boards and committees and was for five years on the executive board of the S.C. Baptist Convention.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, Irene Jones Still; a son, Charles Grayson Still Sr. and his wife, Brenda, Aiken; grandchildren, Charles Grayson Still Jr., Elizabeth Irene Medley, Stuart Hensley Still and Daniel Willis Still, David Redd and Darya McMurtrie; and great-grandchildren, Kimberly Medley, Duane Medley III, Ashley Medley, Cre Still; and an aunt, Eulallia Baker, survive.
The Rev. Still is also survived by his extended family, Norma and Glenn Redd.
The family has requested that memorials be made to Kedron Baptist Church, c/o the Parking Lot Fund, P.O. Box 1719, Aiken, S.C. 29802.

EDGEFIELD - Funeral services for Mr. Jesse Thomas will be held today at 4 p.m. at Republican Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Patten officiating.
The remains will lie in state in the church from 3 p.m. until the hour of service.
Family and friends will assemble at the residence of Otis and Arlene Thomas, 642 Fairview Ave.

Janice D. Bettis
Miss Janice Denise Bettis, 45, of 451 Marlboro St., NE, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, at her residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.
Miss Bettis was a graduate of Aiken High School and was a nursing aid at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. She was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.
She is survived by her father, Herbert Bettis, Aiken; two sisters, Teresa Bettis Myrick and Sandra Bettis, both of Aiken; five uncles, John Bettis, Roosevelt, N.Y., Wendell Beaubian, Alvin Stevens and Robert Mereday, all of Trenton, William Rivers, Charleston; two aunts, Patra Brayboy and Lucille Beaubian, both of Trenton.
Friends may call at the residence or Jackson-Brooks Funeral Home beginning at 2 p.m. on Monday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 7-8 p.m.

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Arlie F. "Freddie" Brantley entered into rest on Aug. 8, 2003.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced.

Genevieve L. Green
Mrs. Genevieve Lewis Green, 80, of Mossback Circle, Aiken, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003 at Carriage Hills Plantation.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Millbrook Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Eddie Leopard and the Rev. Dr. W. James Rivers will officiate. Burial will be in South Fork, Pa., at a later date.
Born in Johnstown, Pa., Mrs. Green was married to the late William Green. She moved to Aiken in 1991, and was involved in childcare. She was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church, Aiken.
Survivors include her daughter, Roxann Lafferty, Tuscon, Ariz.; her son, Kenneth Green, Aiken; five grandchildren, Jeffery Todaro, Cary Todaro, Angelia Todaro, Alyson Green, Ashley Green; six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Ethel Lohr, Johnstown, Pa., Mary Keller, Bowie, Md., Florence McAuliff; and a brother, William Lewis, Darlington, Md.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Garman Lewis; and a daughter, Janet Marie Todaro.
Memorials may be directed to the Millbrook Baptist Church Building Fund, 176 East Pine Log Road, Aiken, S.C. 29803.
The family will receive friends following the services in the church atrium.

Barry S. Hegler
Mr. Barry Shawn Hegler, 40, husband of Deborah Boyleston Hegler, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2003 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday at Town Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Donald Pope, David Laird, Gareth Hegler and Gary Fleetwood officiating. Tom Johnson will also be participating in the services. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held tonight from 6-9 p.m. at George Funeral Homes, historic downtown chapel.
Pallbearers will be Joey Aranda, Frank Burkhart, Richard Bragg, Roger Barton, Eddie Grant and Neil Glover.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Vickery, Alan Hay, Larry Eubanks, Steve Garner, Carl Withers, Rickey Poston, Bernard Rowland and Carl Clark.
Mr. Hegler was a native of Aiken and was the son of Ray and Iva Mae Baker Hegler. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lynette Vickery. He was a 1980 graduate of Aiken High School, a 1984 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in journalism. He worked at the Aiken Standard, was owner of the Pink Dipper in North Augusta for a short time, and most recently was a major account salesman for the Augusta Chronicle for the past six years. Barry was a member of Town Creek Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon and previously served on the pastor search committee.
Survivors include his parents, wife; daughter, Morgan Shawn Hegler; son, Collin Ross Hegler; brother, Gareth Hegler, Aiken; sister, Beverly Pilz, Aiken; and mother and father-in-law, Charles and Elouise Boyleston, Aiken.
Memorials in memory of Barry may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Rohn Maroney
JOHNSTON - A memorial service for Timothy Rohn Maroney will be held today at 5 p.m. at Bland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-5 p.m. prior to the service.
Mr. Maroney died Friday, Aug. 8, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Ann Maroney; a son, Travis Maroney; a daughter, Robyn Maroney; and a stepson, Wilson Dorn; brothers, J.V., Mack, Bill, Ken, Leroy and Rick Maroney; sisters, Viona Cade, Jean Senn and Carol Maroney.

Freddie L. Perry
Mr. Freddie L. Perry of 130 Beckwood Trail, Aiken, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the First Baptist Church on York Street. The body will lie in state beginning at noon. Burial will immediately follow in Jessamine Memorial Gardens.
A native and lifelong resident of Aiken, Freddie was a member of the Cumberland A.M.E. Church, where he served faithfully. He was employed by DuPont and Westinghouse Savannah River Co. for 31 years. He was a 1970 graduate of Martha Schofield High School and attended the University of South Carolina Aiken.
Survivors include his wife, Tamara; two daughters, Tameisha and Keilah; two sons, Dwayne and Marques, all of Aiken; his father, Hollie Perry Sr.; three sisters, Shirley and Linthia Perry, all of Aiken, Patsy (Lawrence) Williams of Jamaica, N.Y.; seven brothers, Hollie Jr. (Delores) of Lithonia, Ga., Michael D. (Trini) of N.C., Willie (Sherry), Robert (Evelyn), Leonard, Daryl (Tavy), William Perry, all of Aiken; two grandsons, Leondre and Shamond; four sister-in-laws; and four brother-in-laws.
His mother, Inez, and sister, Vivian, preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the residence or 349 Kershaw Street and the funeral home beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

SPRINGFIELD - Services for Charles L. Salley Sr., 76, will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston. Burial with Masonic Rites will be accorded at the Springfield Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Springfield Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 72, Springfield, S.C. 29146.
Visitation will be held today from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

WHITEVILLE, N.C. - Irma Faye Best, 62, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at Cypress Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy Bryson officiating. Interment will be in the Hosea Simmons Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cypress Creek Freewill Baptist Church, 1440 Ward Town Rd., Whiteville N.C. 28472. A Peacock Service.

Ervin Hastings Boyd
BATH - Entered into rest on Sept. 28, 2003, Mr. Ervin Hastings Boyd, of 175 Duncan Road. He was precede d in death by his wife Mrs. Lila Davis Boyd, and a son Mr. Clayton Boyd.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Russell E. and Dot Boyd Sr.; a daughter and her husband, Glenda B. and Jack Adkison; a daughter-in-law, Joan Boyd; his wife, Ruby Dubose Boyd; one brother, James Boyd; two sisters, Eula Mae Boyd and Bernice Riley.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Hatcher Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Masonic rites will be accorded at the graveside.

Edna P. Dillard
Mrs. Edna Parris Dillard, 82, wife of Lloyd B. Dillard, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Southlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Toby Rowell officiating.
Mrs. Dillard was the daughter of the late Zeb and Nettie Parris. She was born in Addie, N.C., moving to Montmorenci in 1952, and then to Aiken in 1973. She worked at the Montmorenci Post Office, Roses for 14 years and volunteered as a Pink Lady for 42 years at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. She was a member of Montmorenci First Baptist Church. Edna loved gardening, making crafts and participating in craft shows.
Survivors include her husband; son, Kenneth Dillard of Aiken; daughters, Lorrene Gabriel, and Sue Eubanks, both of Montmorenci; brother, Kenneth Parris of Chico, Calif.; sisters, Hazel Shular of Sylva, N.C., Joanne Gordon of Hendersonville, N.C.; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.

Mrs. Rosa Hightower, 80, of 3525 Augustus Road (Pepper Hill Nursing Center) entered into rest Sept. 30, 2003, at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
Survivors include one son, Clyde (Betty) Hightower of Aiken; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a devoted niece, Catherine (Hamilton) Love of Aiken; and a host of other relatives.
