Clydia Mae Kenner Pope
RIDGE SPRING - Funeral services for Clydia Mae Kenner Pope, 81, 303 Oak St., Ridge Spring, will be Wednesday, Aug. 11 at 3 p.m. at Pine Hill Baptist Church in Johnston. Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 7 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home Chapel, Ridge Spring.
Survivors include two sons, Russell (Darnie) Pope of Tulsa, Okla., and George (Teresa) Pope Jr. of Aiken; three daughters, Parfine Moses of Florence, Josephine (Phillip) Beene of Nashville, Tenn., and Floreen (Ulysees) Rogers of Charlotte, N.C.; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one aunt, Marie Roseborough and one sister-in-law, Annie Doris Kenner.

Frances W. Rutherford
A memorial service for Frances W. Rutherford, 81, of Aiken, who died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, at Mattie C. Hall Health Center will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, at First Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Dr. David Cozad and Martha Ebel officiating. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel. Inurnment will be at Dale Memorial Park, Richmond, Va., at a later date.
She was the wife of the late Rabun Rutherford.
Mrs. Rutherford was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., to the late Archibald and Grace White. She moved to Aiken in 1952 from Old Hickory, Tenn. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Aiken. She had a very philanthropic and humanitarian spirit.
Mrs. Rutherford is survived by daughters Susan Pappas and husband Frank of Berlin, Md, Becky Fehrenbach and husband Joe of Martinez, Ga.; sister, Sally W. Autenreith of Pittsburgh, Pa.; grandchildren, Bruce, Chip and Jim Marvin, Sean and Scott Perkins; two great grandchildren, Carolyn and Patrick Marvin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of choice or First Presbyterian Church, 224 Barnwell St., Aiken, SC 29801.

Willie James Brooks Jr.
Funeral services for Willie James Brooks Jr. will be on Friday at 3 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Saluda. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery. A public viewing will be at Davis Funeral Home today from 11:30 a.m.

Everette True Deitz
Everette True Deitz, 82, of Winthrop Drive, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2004 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel, Hayne Avenue. The Rev. Dr. Fred Andrea will officiate. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens.
Born in Hickory, N.C., Mr. Deitz moved to Aiken with his wife, Ellen Ruth Teague Deitz, in 1953. He retired from the Savannah River Plant as a senior supervisor. He was a past master of the Aiken Masonic Lodge 156, a member of the York Rite and the Scottish Rite and a member of First Baptist Church where he was in the Ed Cushman Sunday School Class.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Martha D. Rice and her husband Maurice of Simpsonville; a son, Carl Lee Deitz of Benton, Texas; two grandchildren, David Rice, Kenneth Rice and his wife Morgan; three great-grandchildren, Ellie, Jack and Gracie Rice.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Shellhouse Funeral Home, 924 Hayne Ave.

SALUDA - Albert Morris, of 104 Macbeth Ct., Saluda, died Oct. 8, 2004.

Rev. Mack David Pickens
ANDERSON - The Rev. Mack David Pickens, 65, of 100 Brentwood Circle, Anderson, died Oct. 7, 2004 at Anderson Area Medical Center.
Rev. Pickens was born in Anderson to the late Curtis Theron Pickens and the late Lola Francis Merritt Pickens. He was a graduate of Anderson College and Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute. For over 34 years, he served as interim pastor for numerous churches in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Glenn Pickens, of the home; sons, Theron Pickens of Fort Mill and Michael Pickens of Lexington; daughters, Gail Parrish of Aiken, Carol Dyar of Anderson and Glenda Mize of Fort Mill; sister, Marion Pickens Vaughn of Anderson; and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant View Baptist Church with the Drs. Glenn Taylor and Wendell Bannister and the Rev. Joe Smith officiating.
Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson. The body is at the McDougald Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the McDougald Funeral Home today from 6 to 8 p.m. The remains will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
The family will be at the home of the daughter, Carol Dyar, 1100 Harriett Circle, Anderson.
Flowers are accepted. Memorials may be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church, 2511 Dobbings Bridge Road, Anderson

James Lynn Harmon
James Lynn Harmon, 40, of Aiken, died Oct. 3, 2004. Funeral services will be today at 11 a.m. at Cedar Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Swift officiating.
He was a lifelong resident of Aiken, a graduate of Aiken High School and the University of South Carolina. He worked in marketing for BellSouth and NASCAR.
Survivors include his loving parents, Helen Christine Hietpas Harmon and Russell Lynn Harmon; three sisters, Mary Harmon McKenney of Marietta, Ga., Sharon Harmon Rowell of Aiken and Donna Harmon of Suwanee, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John C. Hietpas and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James L. Harmon and niece, Alaina Arani.

James Warren Hatcher
HYATTSVILLE, Md. - James Warren Hatcher, 81, of Hyattsville, Md., entered into rest Oct. 3, 2004. Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. at G.L. Brightharp and Sons Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. George Weaver, Aiken, officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at noon in the Florence National Cemetery, Florence. The family will assemble at the funeral home at 1:45 p.m. today.

Roosevelt Simpkins
McCORMICK - Entered into rest Oct. 7, 2004 at McCormick Health Care Center, Mr. Roosevelt Simpkins, 68, of 1 Holiday Road.
Funeral services will be Monday, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. James Dukes officiating.
Mr. Simpkins was a native of Edgefield County and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include eight daughters, Shirley Simpkins and Silva (John) Williams, both of Edgefield, Doris Griswould of North Augusta, Pamela Simpkins of Greenwood, Johnnie (Horace) Pollock of Petticoat Junction, Diane (Roger) Moore of Beech Island, Renee (Ricky) Dennis-Reed, and Regina Dennis, both of Batesburg; eight sons, Walter Simpkins of Warrenville, Willie (Martha) Simpkins and Douglas (Chevet) Brown, both of Graniteville, Ronnie (Jet) Simpkins of Edgefield, Glen (Tonya) Simpkins of Beech Island, Robert Brown and Michael Brown, both of Orangeburg and Randy Dennis of Batesburg; one sister, Edna Yeldella of Edgefield; 32 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at the residence of his son Ronnie, at 286 Plum Branch Road.

Delia Wilson Bryant
A memorial service for Mrs. Delia Wilson Bryant will be held Sunday, Dec. 19 at 3 p.m. at the First Christian Disciples of Christ Church, Aiken, with Pastor Don Morris officiating. At her request Delia will be cremated. The family will greet friends following the memorial service at the church.
Delia, 55, of Aiken, died Saturday morning, Dec. 4, 2004, at her home.
Born in Neosho, Mo., she had been a resident of Aiken for most of her life where she retired in 2004 with 30 years of service from the Social Security Administration as a Claims Representative. She was a very active member of the First Christian Disciples of Christ Church where she had formerly served as choir director.
A daughter, Natalie Hudson of Mt. Pleasant; parents, Delmar D. and Evelyn Wilson of Clearwater; sister, Ramona Penn of Augusta, Ga.; special friend and loving companion John Roth of Aiken; niece, Carolyn Lodge of Martinez, Ga.; and nephews, James P. Penn of Martinez and J. David Penn of Augusta, survive.

NORWAY - Services for Henry Webster Jones, 80, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel in Williston with burial in the Willow Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at Folk Funeral Home.

Mary Purser Morton
COLUMBIA – Mrs. Mary Patricia Purser Morton, of Columbia, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004. Born in Cooper's Town, N.Y., on Nov. 10, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Booth Purser and the late Grace Morrison Purser.
Mrs. Morton is survived by her husband of 36 years, Richard Rutledge Morton; her daughter, Susan Christian Morton Sims; and son-in-law, Blair Rochelle Sims of Lexington and her son, Reed Rutledge Morton of Beaufort; and two grandchildren, Blair Rutledge Sims and Grace Linda Sims.
The family will receive friends at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 6, at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church, 120 Marydale Lane, Columbia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church with interment to follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be the Rev. Anthony Droze. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Palmetto Health Hospice, P.O. Box 7275, Columbia, SC 29202, or the charity of one's choice.

David Carter
Entered into rest Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at his residence, David "Reed" Carter, 49, of North Augusta, beloved husband of Cynthia Jones Carter and son of the late William Carter and the late Verna Metts Carter. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Christopher Reed Carter and a daughter, Megan Christine Carther, both of North Augusta; a brother, Mitchell Carther of Clearwater; a brother-in-law, Walter L. Jones III of Bath; and a grandson, Branson Favors of Bath.
He was born in Clearwater and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County. He was a retired welder for TTX Railroad. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Clearwater.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 3:30 p.m. in St. John's Episcopal Church in Clearwater with the Rev. Rob Hartley officiating. Internment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorials be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, 920 Clearwater Road, North Augusta, SC 29841.

Mr. James L. Felder, 66, of 1168 Aldrich St., entered into rest on Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m. at the Ashley Grove Baptist Chruch, Aiken, with the Rev. Anthony Q. Miller officiating.
Friends may call the B.L. Jenkins Memorial Chapel, 1028 Richland Ave. Aiken, on Wednesday, Dec. 8, from 4 to 9 p.m.
