Ernest Max Adams, 74, of Johns Island, widower of Marie Ann Adams, died Sunday at his residence.
Service and burial will be private.
Born on July 27, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois, a son of the late Gustar Adams and Maria Dellinger Adams. He attended schools in Chicago, Illinois. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served as a military policeman. He was a Sergeant with the Fox Lake Police Department in Illinois.
Survivors include 4 sons, Mark E. Adams of Houston, Tex., Ernest M. Adams, Jr. of York, S.C., Michael G. Adams of Johns Island, S.C., Anton G. Adams of Phoenix, Ariz.; 3 daughters, Patricia S. Stoner of Johns Island, S.C., Katherine M. Reedy of Montgomery, Ala., Julie Ann Adams of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 2 brothers, Gus Adams and John Adams; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

The relatives and friends of Mr. Ricardo Terrell Jones, those of his parents, Ms. Lucille Jones and Mr. Samuel B. MCCASKILL, Mildred
Mildred Jackson McCaskill, 86, of the Methodist Oaks, Orangeburg, S.C., died Saturday, April 13, 2002 at the Regional Medical Center. She was the widow of Louie McCaskill.
A memorial service will be held at the Stringer Chapel of the Methodist Oaks, Orangeburg, S.C. on Wednesday, April 17, 2002, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Kemit Shrawder officiating. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2002, at 4 p.m., in Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, conducted by the Rev. Stephen Gaither of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Hanahan, S.C. where Mrs. McCaskill was a member for many years. The family will be receiving friends at 3 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2002, at CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston. Born in Hamlet, N.C. on June 18, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Luther Jackson and Bessie Adams Jackson. She was a retired counter clerk and member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda H. Brigman and son-in-law G.W. of Denmark and Mary Ann Hayden and son-in-law Thomas E. of Clemson; one sister, Aliene J. Fox of San Francisco, Calif.; six grandchildren, Joseph T. Hayden of Clemson, Paul A. Hayden and wife Jackie of Fayetteville, N.C., Mark E. Hayden and wife Angela of Salisbury, N.C., Lynda K. Martin and husband Charles of Blythewood, Margaret Ann Emory and husband Greg of East Poland, ME., James C. Bragg and wife Kimberly of Mauldin; two step-grandsons, Barry M. Bragg and wife Leticia of San Antonio, Texas, and Gregory W. Brigman of Hartsville; and eight great-grandchildren.

BRANT, Toxey
YEMASSEE - Toxey Anita Brant, 81, died Monday in a Jacksonville, Fla., hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, at the graveside in Ebenezer Cemetery, conducted by Patrick L. Brant and directed by the FRED PARKER FUNERAL HOME.
Mrs. Brant was born May 11, 1920, in Mobile, Ala., a daughter of the late Lloyd Elrod Brant and Myrtle Taylor Brant. She was a Baptist.
Surviving are, a brother, Patrick L. Brant, of Tempe, Ariz., an aunt, Katherine Brant of Jacksonville, Fla., and two nephews, Douglas and Keith Brant.

SMEDS, Lois
Lois Reading Smeds, 78, of Roanoke, Va., formerly of Charleston, S.C., passed away April 16, 2002. She was born in Grand Forks N.D. on April 8, 1924, the daughter of the late Robert Elliot and Mable Clarke Reading. She as preceded in death by her daughter, Christy Lynn Smeds, and husband, James Harold Smeds. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Jamie S. and Jonathan H. Benedict of Charleston, S.C., Laurie S. and Donald M. Padgett of Roanoke, Va.; grandchildren, Sallie L. Padgett of Baltimore, Md., Jennifer L. Benedict of Charleston, S.C., Laurie B. Benedict of Charleston, S.C., and Geoffrey S. Padgett of Roanoke, Va. Private services will be held for the family in Charleston. Mr. Sult was born February 12, 1936, in Wytheville, Va., the son of the late Walter Ray Sult and Mabel Lewellyn Sult. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. He was a graduate of Wythe County High School and had served in the United States Air Force and was a retired insurance consultant with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Mr. Sult was a member and Past Master with Hammerton Lodge #332 A.F.M.; Past District Deputy Grand Master of 2nd Masonic District of South Carolina; Scottish Rite; York Rite, Omar Temple and other Masonic Orders. Mr. Sult was an Amateur Ham "Extra Class" Radio Operator. Mr. and Mrs. Sult have celebrated 41 and a half years of marriage.
Mr. Sult is survived by his wife of Hanahan, S.C.; one son, Michael R. Sult of Charleston, S.C.; two brothers, W. Eugene Sult of Norfolk, Va., Dennis Sult of Wytheville, Va.; three sisters, Lois S. Vaught, of Baltimore, Md., Paige S. Mcilwee of Strasburg, Va., Nancy S. Cregger of Wytheville, Va. Mr. Sult was preceded in death by a brother, Tommie L. Sult, of Baltimore, Md.

Mr. Moore was born June 16, 1921, in Charleston, S.C., the son of Walter Allan Moore, Jr. and Rachel Brown Moore. He was a 1943 graduate of The Citadel. He was a retired plant engineer with Macalloy Corporation. He was a member of The Cathedral Church of St. Luke and St. Paul. He served with the U.S. Army during W.W.II, followed by reserve service until 1968 as a Lt. Colonel.
Mr. Moore was the current president of the Albemarle Supper Club; his other memberships included: La Societe Francaise de Bienfaisnce; The Huguenot Society of South Carolina; Carolina Yacht Club; Civil Engineers Club of Charleston; The Retired Officers Association, Charleston Chapter; Honorary member of #3137 VFW (Isle of Palms).
He is survived by his wife of Charleston, S.C.; 3 sons, Walter Allan Moore, IV, James Morrison Moore and Steven Marsh Moore; one daughter, Jeanette Moore Campbell of Beaufort, S.C.; 3 grandchildren; 2 step-sons, Robert Marion Campbell, Jr. of Beaufort, S.C. and James William Campbell of Monroeville, Ala.; one step-daughter, Anne Campbell Hudson of Monroeville, Ala. He was predeceased by his first wife Margaret Marsh "Toppy" Moore.

She is survived by her husband of Lexington, S.C.; one daughter, Heather B. Sorenson of Salt Lake City, Utah; one son, Derek M. Bergeson of Salem, S.C.; 3 brothers, Donnie A. Messervy of Charleston, S.C., T.W. Messervy of James Island, S.C. and Luder C. Messervy, Jr. of James Island, S.C.; 4 sisters, Virginia M. Bryson of Greenville, S.C., Ann Messervy of Folly Beach, S.C., Jean McLeod of Southern Pines, N.C. and Patti M. Milton of Fredericksburg, Va.; 3 grandchildren, Adam M. Bergeson, Samantha R. Bergeson and Seabrook C. Sorenson.

Mrs. Spivey was born June 27, 1923 in Andalusia, Alabama, the daughter of the late Marvin Bryant and Callie Mae Barefoot Bryant. She was a member of Ashley River Church of God. She was the owner of Spivey's Mobile Home Park and Spivey's Wrecker Service.
She is survived by her two sons, Houston Carl Crowder, Sr. and Houston Carl Crowder, Jr. both of Charleston, S.C.; five daughters, V. Etta Scheidnas of Green Sea, S.C., Barbara Canant of Charleston, S.C., Mary Beatrice Spivey of North Charleston, S.C., Christina Cindy Spivey of Summerville, S.C., Ramona Ann Spivey of North Charleston, S.C.; four stepsons, Pete Spivey of Georgiana, Ala., Jerry Spivey, Buddy Spivey and Marlin Spivey all of Mobile, Ala.; two sisters, Mavis Lawson and Lala Mae Lawson both of Andalusia, Ala.; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
